Shafaq News/ One soldier was wounded in an ISIS attack by ISIS at the borders with Saladin Governorate.
A security source told Shafaq News Agency, "ISIS elements attacked this evening a security point belonging to the 1st Regiment of the 2nd Brigade in the 1st Army Division at the Al-Hataween crossing on the Azim River separating Diyala and Saladin."
The attack resulted in the injury of a soldier and the destruction of a thermal camera.
According to our source, military reinforcements arrived at the scene while the attackers fled to unknown places.
Al-Azim district is exposed to frequent attacks on the borders of Saladin due to security gaps and the lack of military reinforcements.
Thousands of families were displaced from Al-Azim, Al-Saadiya, Jalawla, North Miqdadiyah, and East Mansuriya in 2014 during the ISIS invasion.
In 2017, Iraq declared final victory over ISIS after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country, three years after the militant group captured about a third of Iraq's territory.
Yet, ISIS still has sleeper cells in several Iraqi Governorates.

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, security forces of Watad Petroleum Company, which is completely controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) in Idlib city, northwest Syria, chased women and children who smuggle diesel.
Military forces of HTS and its civil wing known as the Salvation Government keep on strangling the people in the areas it controls in Idlib and in the countryside of Hama, Aleppo and Latakia.
Scores of HTS members, who deployed in the lands that connect Atmeh town and Deir Balout village to Afrin area, hunted the women and children who smuggle diesel, eyewitnesses told North Press.
HTS members confiscated large quantities of diesel, spilled it on the floor, and burnt it in front of the women and children, the eyewitnesses said.
Every child could carry no more than five liters of diesel as the road is tough and they smuggle it on foot, the eyewitnesses added.
Dozens of displaced families in Atmeh camps near the Syrian-Turkish border sustain on smuggling diesel and sugar from Afrin to Idlib, according to the same eyewitnesses.
HTS monopolies all important economic sectors in the region, and prevents the entry of several basic materials from Afrin to its areas of control in a move to force the residents to buy them from its own companies at a price it fixes.
On February 10, an IDP woman died of her injury after she was shot by HTS members while smuggling fuel near Atmeh.
Following the shooting, dozens of IDPs and residents of Atmeh protested against HTS who dispersed the protests with live bullets.

ALEEPO COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – A leader of the Turkish-backed Military Police faction was injured, on Monday evening, as a result of an IED explosion in the city of Jarablus east of Aleppo, north Syria.
A local source told North Press that the leader Abou Al-Baraa suffered minor injuries caused by an IED that was planted in his car.
The source added that the leader is working in the investigation department affiliated with the Military Police faction in the city.
With explosions, murders, and kidnapping taking place regularly, the areas held by the Turkish-backed factions witness a state of insecurity amid failure of the factions to settle the condition there.
It should be noted that Jarablus has been controlled by the Turkish-backed opposition factions since 2016.

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, infighting between the Turkish-backed opposition factions over a smuggling checkpoint in Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in northeast Syria, which is under the control of the Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition factions, led to deaths and injuries, including civilians.
“Members of al- Hamzah Division killed a civilian and wounded another at the Aziziyah checkpoint, west of the city of Sere Kaniye, for refusing to pay the bribe to the checkpoint members,” informed local sources told North Press.
The incident then was followed by a military tension among armed groups affiliated with Shohadaa Badr Brigade, which controls the western countryside of sere Kaniye.
According to informed sources, al- Aziziyah checkpoint is considered a checkpoint for smuggling and the imposition of royalties on the local population by the same faction.
On Monday, in fighting broke out between Shohadaa Badr Brigade members and al-Hamza Division members at the same checkpoint over smuggling.
A member of Al-Hamzah Division was shot dead in the infighting, the sources said.
On Tuesday, the city of Sere Kaniye witnessed a vigil by the residents to hand over the body of the killed and to expel Abu Hamid al-Harbi, the leader in al-Hamza Division for being the cause of the infighting.
The internal disputes are usually over sharing of levies, profits and routes used for people smuggling into Turkey and the imposition of royalties on people.
It is worth noting that the Turkish forces and opposition factions have controlled the city of Sere Kaniye and its countryside in addition to Tel-Abyad, northeast, since 2019 following an invasion that displaced about 300 thousand of the indigenous population, according to human rights reports.
In the same context, members of al-Hamza Division, the largest armed faction in the Sere Kaniye area, killed a member named Turki al-Baaj from the Sultan Murad Division, in the countryside of Sere Kaniye on March 20, a special source told North Press.

TABQA, Syria (North Press) – Two children were injured on Saturday in a landmine explosion in the village of al-Hawra, 20 km south of Tabqa city, north Syria.
Residents of the village suggested that the mine was a remnant of ISIS that had been planted earlier.
“The mine exploded in the two children, Ahmed Mustafa Aboud al-Hassan and Ali Ahmed Aboud al-Hassan, eight years old, while grazing sheep next to the village near the southern Tabqa city crossing,” Hassan al-Awwad, a resident of the village of al-Hawra and a relative of the two children, said.
The areas where ISIS was expelled from by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) often witness explosions of mines planted by ISIS prior to its withdrawal.
Such incidents occasionally happen to shepherds in the Badia, and a number of demining organizations, in cooperation with SDF teams, removed a large number of them in the area, as well as some remote areas in the Badia south of the unpopulated city of Tabqa.
