But in the true spirit of "never let a crisis (or opportunity) go to waste," leftists have managed to subvert all these pursuits. Posing as benevolent government "servants" they have graciously offered to guide us through the complex social and scientific issues associated with each objective. We naively let them. We’re just now beginning to see that the course they’ve charted does not lead to the destination we were promised. It leads to a loss of self-governance -- also known as tyranny.
In the 1940s our government decided to get into the disease control business by stamping out malaria. That seemed innocent enough. The CDC was created to accomplish it. The NIH already existed but, apparently, one bureaucracy was not enough. But it turns out, eliminating malaria (at least in America) wasn’t enough. The NIH and the CDC have since expanded their missions (research for the former and disease prevention for the latter) to become two of the greatest threats to civil liberties in existence. They are calling for the suspension of our rights in the name of defeating a virus -- which the NIH admits to having helped create in funding gain of function research. Per their guidance, our rights to movement and assembly have been restricted. Our property rights have been put on hold (e.g., the eviction moratorium). It’s all being done in the name of the "public good." There is a term for letting the benefits of the many outweigh the rights of the individual -- mob rule. That’s a long way from the original mission to stamp out malaria.

[BBC] US intelligence agencies say they may never be able to identify the origins of Covid-19, but they have concluded it was not created as a biological weapon.
In an updated assessment of where the virus began, the Office of the US Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said an animal-to-human transmission and a lab leak were both plausible hypotheses for how it spread.
But there was not enough information to reach a definitive conclusion.
China has criticised the report.
The findings were published in a declassified report which is an update of a 90-day review that President Joe Biden's administration released in August.
It said the intelligence community remains divided on the most likely origin of the virus. Four agencies assessed with "low confidence" it had originated with an infected animal or a related virus.
But one agency said it had "moderate confidence" that the first human infection most likely was the result of a laboratory accident, probably involving experimentation or animal handling by the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The report also said Chinese officials were unaware of the existence of the virus before the initial outbreak of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan, in late 2019. But it said China was continuing to hinder the global investigation and to resist sharing information.

My sense is that the bioweapon was released in some accidental or preliminary and modest test form and the epidemic that ensued ws wholly of a scale beyond expectations. Once it blossomed, the CCP PLA decided to go all in and sought to spread it worldwide even more effectively. Unclear how many variants might have been additonal releases or if they are refining the virus to have demographic specific efficacy. But, it is clear that our own internal Marxists and their CCP allies have explored all the ways this enables the destabilization of the "Main Enemy". Rather, it appears the country embraces a hard divide over a variety of issues, with vaccine mandates and parental rights in public education being only the most current ones.
At this point, there's no reason to believe these divides are simply going to go away. Secession is likely to become even more mainstream, as has been occurring in recent years, and as the old "liberal consensus" of the mid-twentieth century recedes ever more into the distant past.
Rather, experience increasingly points toward separation, even if such events seem far off. In the real world, after all, major political changes can come suddenly and in unexpected ways. In 1987, most Soviets still assumed the USSR would continue to exist for many more decades—if not centuries. Because of this, now is the time to begin asking the difficult questions about secession and how military and financial questions can be addressed.
Considering all this, we see three main reasons why it is increasingly unwise to ignore secession as a serious possibility.

I would welcome Laws and Amendments that:
LIMIT DC powers to what they were to have been to begin with.
3 elected term limitation with a 5 year prohibition before being allowed to run again.
Forbidding any elected official from association with any company that they received donations from and/or steered contracts for 10 years to include backdoor $$$$ via Family/Friends.
Limiting donations to $25 per voter and $5,000 per 501 #c registered SIG per election cycle.
Require all MEDIA to OPENLY declare their political position of support or neutrality.
Remove the current Civil Lawsuit immunity for Politicians who make threats and slanderous comments.

I'll accept secession only if it's based on a precinct-by-precinct basis. Anything else would be tyranny for far too many. Just because 20% of Colorado has 85% of the population does not justify forcing me to live to THEIR whims, especially since they're too stupid to think beyond their wish for "free stuff".
