The last time the U.S. didn’t bother to care the Twin Towers and the Pentagon were attacked. The Capitol building was reportedly supposed to be hit, too, but some very brave men on the third airplane said, “Lets roll!” and ended up crashed into a field instead.
The question is how to care more effectively than has been done for most of the past two decades.
[Garowe] The African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Mission in Somalia [AMISOM] released a statement following the death of seven individuals in Beldamin-Golweyn road in Lower Shabelle, south of the country on Tuesday.
In a tweet, AMISOM maintained the victims were members of al-Shabaab ...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... , adding that they had laid an ambush against the troops who were in a routine operation within the region which is largely under the control of the al-Qaeda linked group.
AMISOM further noted that after the death of the suspected bully boys, an assortment of weapons was recovered. The Uganda People's Defense Forces [UPDF] participated in the operation according to sources.
"AMISOM Uganda troops while on routine patrol to secure the main supply route between Beldamin-Golweyn forward operating bases in Lower Shabelle have today engaged and dislodged an al-Shabaab ambush that had been laid in waiting," the mission said.
"During the counter-attack, 7 bad boyz were potted while others sustained injuries and an assortment of weapons was recovered. AMISOM commends the bravery and fast action of its soldiers in which one peacekeeper sustained injuries."
But a statement by the state media seemed to suggest that those killed were innocent civilians. According to multiple sources, five were picked from the nearby village while two were truck drivers who were using the route at the time of the ambush.
"AMISOM forces have killed 7 unarmed civilians in Golweyn town of Lower Shabelle region, on Tuesday, Madeey Sheikh Osman, the commissioner of Golweyn told to the state media," state media reported.
Neither AMISOM nor the federal government of Somalia is yet to issue a comprehensive statement over the incident. The UPDF troops have been pursuing al-Shabaab bully boyz in Lower Shabelle, which is almost under the control of the bully boys.
One of the parents who spoke to the media accused AMISOM of "lying" to the public, adding that one of his sons was killed in the incident. He asked the union mission to take responsibility and accountability for the actions.
"My son and 6 others were mercilessly murdered by AMISOM, I call on the Federal Government of Somalia to hold Amisom accountable for this act," said Mohammed Yonis whose son was among 7 civilians who were allegedly killed in Golweyn by Amisom forces, on Tuesday.
Shalambood District Commissioner Nur Osman Rage who spoke to BBC Somali Service accused AMISOM of intentionally killing the civilians.
"The people have been rounded up and blindfolded, forcefully sat on a landmine and detonated," Nur said.
An official working for AMISOM, who asked not to be named, told the BBC Somali service that they had not heard of the incident but would seek further information. The official said AMISOM will provide details once thorough scrutiny has been done.
But the Shalambood governor said: "With shots being fired if people die, everyone dies somewhere. These people are people who have been rounded up and blindfolded and then killed because," he said.

[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian hit by Israeli army gunfire last week during festivities in the West Bank has died of his wounds, Paleostinian sources tell AFP.
The sources say Dia al-Sabarini, 25, was seriously maimed in the northern town of Jenin and transferred to hospital on August 3. Five other Paleostinians were maimed in the same festivities after troops had entered Jenin, according to Paleostinian medics.
Israeli police say security forces had opened fire after coming under attack with bombs and Molotov cocktails during an operation in Jenin.
[IsraelTimes] Seven residents of the south of the country were arrested recently for alleged acts of violence in May during an armed conflict between Israel and the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip, it was announced Tuesday.
According to a statement from the Israel Police, the seven individuals were detained following a joint undercover investigation by police and the Shin Bet domestic security service.
The suspects are accused of rioting on several occasions near the Bedouin city of Rahat, north of Beersheba.
Police said the suspects threw rocks at passing cars and at coppers during protests amid the 11-day flareup of violence between Israel and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, in Gaza earlier this year.
The seven individuals were slated to appear at the Beersheba Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for a hearing on extending their detention.
Police said they will continue to work to investigate the festivities and violence that took place across Israel in May and to locate suspects, "and additional arrests are expected."
On Sunday, five Bedouin residents of the town of Kuseife in the south were indicted on terror charges for alleged acts of violence in May during the conflict.
From May 10-21 Israel fought against the Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip. In response to thousands of rockets fired by the Paleostinian terror group at Israeli cities, the IDF carried out hundreds of bombing raids on Hamas targets in the coastal enclave.
The escalation in violence between Israel and Hamas sparked mass unrest in mixed Arab-Jewish locales in Israel.

Syrian media reported an explosion and fire on a ship at the port in Latakia on Tuesday, with initial reports indicating that the affected vessel had been used to transfer Iranian oil to Syria in the past.
The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out in a ship that was undergoing maintenance at the port.
Smoke from the fire caused some of the workers to suffer difficulty breathing. The ship was empty, according to SANA.
TankerTrackers.com, an online service that tracks and reports shipments and storage of crude oil, identified the vessel as the WISDOM, saying that the tanker had recently relocated in the port to make room for the Iranian oil tanker SAM 121.
The WISDOM has been used to transfer Iranian oil from Iranian tankers, including the SAM 121, to Syria in the past, according to TankerTrackers.com.
If this was the WISDOM, this isn't the first time the vessel has been affected by such an incident.
In April, initial reports claimed that the ship had been targeted by a drone attack, although Iranian and Syrian media later denied the reports, saying that a fire had been caused by a welding accident, killing one worker.
In May, the vessel was hit by another fire, after what SANA claimed was a technical failure in one of the engines.
The news comes as tensions remain high between Israel and Iran after an Iranian drone strike targeted an Israeli-managed Mercer Street ship off the coast of Oman in July, killing a British citizen and a Romanian citizen. The United States, the United Kingdom and Israel have all threatened retaliation and the attack has garnered international condemnation of Iran.
Iran has denied being responsible for the attack and claimed Israel and there US are attempting to destabilize the region, but on Saturday US Central Command (CENTCOM) released evidence that the drones used in the attack were Iranian-made.
Less than a week after the attack on the Mercer Street, Iranian forces reportedly attempted to hijack the Asphalt Princess tanker off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, but fled the ship after workers sabotaged the engines, according to the British daily The Times.
On Monday, Iranian Nour News claimed that an Israeli submarine had secretly entered the Red Sea accompanied by two ships.
In recent years, Israel and Iran have reportedly targeted each other's maritime vessels on dozens of occasions.

A lot of Iranian stuff exploding lately. Could just be coincidence. Bad grounding straps, that's my theory. Electrostatic discharge from all that hot, dry wind.

Iran’s new president presented a cabinet dominated by hardliners on Wednesday, state TV reported, among them a foreign minister known for close ties to Hezbollah and an interior minister wanted by Interpol over his alleged role in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish cultural center in Buenos Aires.
The conservative holy man and former judiciary chief Ebrahim Raisi nominated hardline career diplomat Hossein Amirabdollahian to the crucial post of foreign minister as Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and the US seek to resuscitate Tehran’s landmark nuclear deal with world powers.
Amirabdollahian, 56, has served in a range of administrations over the decades. He was deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs under former populist hardline president Mahmoud Short Round Ahmadinejad, known in the West for his Holocaust denial and disputed reelection in 2009.
According to Rooters, Amirabdollahian is an avowed anti-Westerner believed to have close relations with the Hezbollah terrorist group in Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... as well as Iran’s Revolutionary Guards force.
Raisi also appointed Gen. Ahmad Vahidi — a former defense minister blacklisted by the US in 2010 — as his interior minister. He was the head of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, its international operations arm, at the time of the bombing of the AMIA Jewish Center in Argentina ...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita... ’s capital. His name appeared on an Interpol "red notice" list regarding the attack on the AMIA building.
The 1994 AMIA (Argentine Israelite Mutual Association) bombing, carried out by a Lebanese jacket wallah who drove a boom-mobile at the multistory building, killed 85 people and maimed hundreds. The bomber was subsequently identified as Ibrahim Hussein Berro, an operative of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terror group, and he was allegedly assisted by other Hezbollah and Iranian operatives.
The Iranian cabinet list, which offered few surprises, must still be confirmed by he country’s parliament. The supreme leader also typically weighs in on picking officials for the most sensitive positions, such as foreign minister.
Javad Owji, 54, a longtime official in the country’s vital oil and gas sector, was nominated as oil minister. Raisi picked Rostam Ghasemi, a former oil minister under Ahmadinejad, as the minister for roads and urbanization. The list named Gen. Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, a former deputy chief of staff of the armed forces, as defense minister.
