[Summit News] Active duty members of the Navy in San Diego were forced to take part in a mandatory ’diversity hike’ during which they flew LGBT flags while American flags were nowhere to be seen.
"A woman whose husband is active duty Navy sent me this. His command held a "diversity hike" in honor of Pride Month. Attendance was mandatory. They hiked while waving a rainbow American flag," tweeted Matt Walsh.

OK, it's appalling. But on the plus side, no ships ran aground, and there were no collisions underway.

A steadfast Marine officer I went to school with back in the latter part of the Old Testament always maintained that all sailors were perpetually seeking after the mystery of the 13 buttons.
There are few things more exciting to local news journalists than when their coverage area serves as a topic of national discussion. Whether it’s positive or negative, local newspapers and news channels often jump at the opportunity to use their personal connections to participate in the story. It’s natural.
But when the topic of discussion is one that is ideologically opposed to the newsroom in general — and in much of America, that newsroom ideology is often leftist — activist journalists tend to "defend their territory" by being adamantly opposed to the point of contention. In the case of The News Tribune, a local Tacoma-area newspaper, they felt the need to collude with local Democrats to attack conservative journalist Christopher Rufo.
Their hit piece attacking Rufo and defending Critical Race Theory is rife with inaccuracies. First and foremost, the very notion the CRT "is a legal doctrine, encountered mostly at the graduate level" is ludicrous prima facie. One does not need to be a top-notch investigative journalist to know that CRT is spreading across the country and being taught in grade schools on up. It takes the highest degrees of gaslighting skill to claim anything otherwise with a straight face.
As for their perspectives on Rufo being the "architect of the campaign" attacking Critical Race Theory, they’re doing what a few leftist publications have done. They want to isolate and attack a singular messenger rather than address the message itself. Rufo is a great journalist and has been on top of this from the beginning, but to call him the architect of the campaign to suppress the Neo-Marxist ideologies taught through Critical Race Theory would be like calling CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... ’s Jake Tapper the architect of the Russian-collusion story. Yes, both have been loud about their particular pet projects but neither can be considered the architect.
The article goes on to "doxx" Rufo as a local Gig Harbor citizen. This is dangerous, especially when we consider the radical progressive activity in the area that has caused physical harm to conservative journalists in the past. But they didn’t just "doxx" him. They pulled in local Democrats to demonize him. From the article:
"A white guy working out of a home studio in Gig Harbor is behind all the scripted talking points and drama you hear about CRT," wrote Justin Camarata, a former Tacoma city council member and chair of the 27th District Democrats, on his Twitter feed.
"It was certainly surprising," said Jennifer Butler, a Peninsula School Board candidate. "It was a very fascinating article, and when I got to the part where it said Gig Harbor, I went, ’Whoa, well there you go. ... These conversations are happening all over the country."
The twin stories painted Rufo, who moved to Gig Harbor from Seattle last year, as a conservative criminal mastermind who has nearly single-handedly convinced millions of alarmed Americans — including former President Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... — that children are being taught their country is irredeemably evil and racist, and that white people should feel guilt and shame about their race.
This is worse than bad activist journalism or dangerous doxxing. This is a series of lies used to perpetuate a blatantly false narrative while building a bogeyman to attack along the way. The News Tribune should retract this harmful story immediately.
[WASHINGTONTIMES] The U.S. economy will roar to life for the rest of this year and remain supercharged through 2022, the Congressional Budget Office said Thursday, though the analysts also warned Americans to expect inflation to rise "sharply" for several months.
The unemployment rate will fall to 4.6% at the end of this year and be back to pre-pandemic levels at some point next year, said CBO, delivering a glowing picture on the most politically important yardstick.
Americans who saved up during the pandemic are looking to spend, creating strong demand for goods and services. Inventories aren’t ready to handle that demand right now, thus the spike in inflation. The analysts said supply and demand will even out quickly and inflation pressures will dissipate by the end of the year.
In the meantime, Americans were vaccinated for COVID-19 faster than projected and communities scrapped social distancing policies earlier than anticipated.
CBO said Democrats’ coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... relief package, which President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. Joe's wife and daughter weren't killed by a drunk driver. He didn't graduate with three or even two degrees, wasn't in the top half of his law class, and his daddy didn't come home from a hard day's work in the mines and play football with the guys. The NAACP hasn't endorsed him every time he's run....... signed in March, will pump hundreds of billions of dollars into the economy.
The result will be a fantastic year for the economy, with gross domestic product rising 7.4% in real terms year-to-year in 2021 and still running strong at 3.1% growth in 2022.
The economy will cool quickly in 2023, with GDP growth falling to 1.1% and rising only to 1.2% in 2024 and 2025, the CBO projected.
Analysts said the pattern is normal after a heated recovery but could prove problematic for Mr. Biden and congressional Democrats in 2024 as they face voters starting to feel a slowing economy.
The White House called this year’s GDP number proof that the president’s "economic plan is working."
"The last time the economy grew at this rate was when Ronald Reagan told us it was ’Morning in America’ in 1984," the White House gloated in a blurb.
Rep. John A. Yarmuth, Kentucky Democrat and chairman of the House Budget Committee, said the economic growth is a reason to double down and pass another round of government spending on infrastructure, social welfare and action against climate change.
Even with the recovery, though, the federal government will end this year deeply in the red, the CBO said Thursday. It projected a near-record $3 trillion deficit, just shy of last year’s record $3.1 trillion.
In February, the CBO pegged the figure at just $2.2 trillion. Most of the increase is a result of the coronavirus relief package.

No inflation, folks. It's just "temporary," you see.
Pay no attention to Buffett saying every one of Berkshire's companies -- real estate, auto dealers, consumer staples etc -- are seeing prices go "up up up."
Pay no attention to one of our biggest packaged foods (General Mills) companies announcing a 50 PERCENT PRICE INCREASE yesterday.
Pay no attention to Wall Street analysts' new oil price targets of $100/bbl.
Nope, nothing to see here.
The Chairman is in power and the situation is excellent. Get with the program, you running dog counter-revolutionaries

No it won't. Not enough people willing to give up unemployment to make the goods we need. We will see 1970s stagflation by the end of the year with a massive real estate bubble pop.

Most people have left the various medias. Nothing to believe anymore. Corporations are losing control also. Go woke go broke. Workers archaic antique word.
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Footage exclusively obtained by The Post Millennial shows progressive candidate for King County Council Ubax Gardheere
...Muslim Somali-American social justice warrior-turned-politician who was sent to a mental hospital as the result of this episode...
threatening school children while claiming she may have a bomb or a gun and then calling them "cowards" as they flee from her.
Ubax Gardheere boarded the Highline School District bus on Jan. 12, 2010 as it was about to begin its morning route to Chinook Middle School. Gardheere can be seen walking on to the school bus filled with children. She tells the bus driver not to drive because "it's a matter of national security." She tells him the "bus is not leaving." The driver then calls the police.
When the driver asks her if something happened to one of the kids, she says "if something happens it's going to happen to you."
Gardheere then tells school children she is wearing loose clothing and she might have a bomb or a gun. "Someone better get here real quick," the bus driver exclaims. A heroic officer arrives and arrests her. Finally, as seen from the back of the bus, children flee out the back of the bus. Gardheere can be heard calling them "cowards" over and over again.
Deputy Prosecutor Gretchen Holmgren said students were afraid for their safety and as students fled through the rear emergency exit of the bus, Gardheere began screaming that they were "cowards" for abandoning their classmates.
Holmgren wrote the court, "While speaking with the middle school students, the defendant stated that she might have a bomb and might have a gun. When students attempted to escape out the back of the bus, she called them cowards and told them they would be responsible if something happened to their classmates. Several students believed she had a weapon of some kind and many feared for their lives."
According to a detective with the King County, Gardheere told the arresting officer she was "prepared to die." However, a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package... no weapons were found in her possession. She eventually pled the felony charges down to a gross misdemeanor before trial.
This behavior has not dampened her popularity within the Democratic party. Democrat State Senator Rebecca Saldana said in her endorsement of Gardheere, "I will follow Ubax anywhere." Former radical Seattle City Council Member and activist Mike O'Brien called Gardheere "An amazing leader." It is unclear if Saladana or O'Brien were aware of Gardheere's bomb threats against children on a school bus when they gave their endorsements.
[NYPOST] Here’s the silver lining in the latest grand screwup by the city’s Board of Elections: By inadvertently including 135,000 test ballots in Tuesday’s preliminary report on results of the June 22 Democratic primary, the BOE all but ensured it won’t make that same mistake in a few weeks when it releases the final tally, supposedly by July 12.
But it could still botch something else.
Yes, this was the first citywide tally under the city’s new ranked-choice voting system, with software the BOE is plainly still getting a handle on. But that prompts the question: Why didn’t anyone look carefully at the numbers and spot check them against the raw election night totals and so discover the glaring discrepancies?
Heck, why even offer a public not-at-all-final tally before you’ve actually made sure you’ve ironed out every glitch? Why not do the responsible thing and wait until all the votes are tallied?
Under state law, the BOE is run by, and for, political hacks — that’s why. Heck, some of the politicians now pointing fingers over this mess surely have patronage hires working somewhere at the BOE.
The board’s current executive director, Michael Ryan, is generally thought a competent fellow, but he’s out on medical leave. That left his deputy, Dawn Sandow, in charge; at least one fellow Republican official calls her a "disaster" and unqualified to run a large agency.
The fiasco has plenty of people calling for major BOE reforms, but most changes require action by the Legislature (which would likely impact all Boards of Election across the state, upsetting lots of patronage applecarts) or even amendments to the state Constitution.
A faster, city-only fix requires action only by the 10 chairs of the county Democratic and Republican parties: They need only agree to require proven competence of their appointees, who can then clean house among the lower ranks.
City and state politicians also ought to be more cautious about blithely rewriting election rules, since the BOE pretty routinely runs into some disaster whenever it’s required to handle anything new.
But beware calls to make it a "nonpartisan" agency: With Democrats so dominant in the city and statewide these days, that could easily fuel even more public distrust than the regular errors under the current setup.
For now, the best move is simply to insist the political bosses put a premium on competence for the future and cross your fingers that the board ruthlessly checks its own work before releasing the final certified tallies later this month.

[THEEPOCHTIMES] Arizona’s ban on ballot-harvesting and out-of-precinct voting does not violate the federal Voting Rights Act, the Supreme Court ...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations... ruled 6-3 this morning in a closely watched case with implications for future elections.
The court opinion split neatly along ideological and partisan lines with the 6 conservative justices nominated by Republican presidents voting to uphold the state law and the 3 liberal justices voting to strike it down.
The decision reverses a judgment issued by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and comes the week after the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft ...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know... filed a lawsuit against Georgia over the state’s new electoral integrity-promoting law claiming it amounts to so-called voter suppression. The state’s Republican governor, Brian Kemp, said the U.S. Department of Justice’s suit was "legally and constitutionally dead wrong."
Justice Samuel Alito wrote the court’s opinion in Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee (DNC (If you're white you ain't right!) ...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points we hear as news stories originate... ), court file 19-1257, and Arizona Republican Party v. DNC, court file 19-1258, which was published July 1. Mark Brnovich is the Republican attorney general of Arizona. Oral arguments took place telephonically March 2 after the Supreme Court decided Oct. 2, 2020, to hear the consolidated case.
The reach of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA) of 1965 was at issue in the case.
The Supreme Court today concluded that Arizona’s out-of-precinct policy and the law known as HB 2023 do not violate Section 2 of the VRA. The court also found that HB 2023 was not enacted with a racially discriminatory purpose.

[THEFEDERALIST] If there was ever a case against affirmative action, it would be the sitting vice president.
All of the things opponents of race quotas say — that they inspire mediocrity, lead to lower standards, and set unqualified people up for failure — are precisely what we’re seeing in the shockingly poor job performance of Kámala Harris Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California, and then a former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful. She dropped out because she was polling in negative numbers because of racism. Her father is a Marxist professor emeritus at Stanford and her mother is an Indian of the Hindoo tribe. She is reputedly the proud descendant of a long line of women. Joe Biden picked her for her skin tone, feeling she could also bring in the Native American, women's and bimbo votes. She's displaying her level of competence in her handling of the Biden Border Surge President Joe Biden

not really since Harris's boss is also unqualified
a better case is the Chief Counsel at Coke who talked the CEO and board into various woke policies and internal practices that were actually illegal.
This guy has a contract now where he is a no work consultant to Coke getting many hundreds of thousands of $$ for the next two years.

Our great democracies still tend to think that a stupid man is more likely to be honest than a clever man, and our politicians take advantage of this prejudice by pretending to be even more stupid than nature made them.” ~ Bertrand Russell

Example for positive outcome of affirmative action?
In all seriousness, the attraction of affirmative action when it was first introduced was the thought that many deserving by acts with no longer be held back.
In practical terms, this meant that America would jumpstart the creation of a black professional class that would have full access to the institutions and power centers of American society. For about 10 or maybe at most 20% of black American society, this wish was fulfilled.
Hence the Dr. Phil Huxtable / Cosby Show phenom. In The best American tradition, motivated I achieving and deserving blacks sees the opportunity, entered the professions, and realized the American Dream.
How many? Probably as many as 30% of the black US population, maybe only 20%, but in any case, in absolute numbers least 5 million black American households and at least 10 million black Americans took a vantage of this opportunity and did what we all hoped they would do.
Five million households is an enormous number. That's like a small country. That's success.
BUT....
... an equal number of black Americans -- probably twice as many - slid further and further into dysfunction, poverty, violence, and despair. You all know that story. It's a horror story. Unbelievable really, for any advanced civilization.
Worst of all, the idea of merit as a criterion for advancement was degraded. And entire generation of poor blacks became professional victims. With all the attendant dysfunctional behaviors the professional victims are wont to display.
I'll leave it up to you as to whether the experiment was, on balance, a success.
