[NEWS.YAHOO] In late May and early June 2020, looters smashed storefronts in the Bronx and Manhattan boroughs of New York City.
Many were caught on tape, some with their faces visible. Others even posted their own videos of their actions those nights on social media. Hundreds were arrested.
But a review of NYPD data by the investigative team at WNBC, the NBC owned station in New York, shows that a large percentage of the cases — particularly in the Bronx — were dismissed, and that many convictions were for counts like trespassing that carry no jail time.
"I was in total shock that everything is being brushed off to the side," said Jessica Betancourt, who owns an eyeglass shop that was looted and destroyed along Burnside Avenue in the Bronx last June.
According to the data, 118 arrests were made in the Bronx during the worst of the looting in early June.
Since then, the NYPD says the Bronx district attorney
...that’d be Darcel Denise Clark, Democrat, a.k.a. Darcel Clark, who spent her entire career in the Bronx: first as a prosecutor, then as a judge, then twice elected as the Bronx district attorney because there are better opportunities for graft. Unusually, she grew up in the Bronx projects with both a father and a mother, so she should know better. If she is not a recipient of Progressive billionaire funding, it’s because she’s giving it away for free...
and the courts have dismissed most of those cases — 73 in all. Eighteen cases remain open and there have been 19 convictions for mostly lesser counts like trespassing, counts which carry no jail time.
Betancourt, who is also vice president of a local merchants 'association, called the numbers "disgusting." She said local business leaders are upset few are being held accountable for the destruction they caused.
In Manhattan, much of the looting occurred in the upscale neighborhood of Soho. Amid the Covid pandemic, mobs and organized criminals were taking advantage of huge protests in the city after the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd.
The NYPD data shows there were 485 arrests in Manhattan. Of those cases, 222 were later dropped and 73 resulted in convictions for lesser counts like trespassing, which carries no jail time. Another 40 cases involved juveniles and were sent to family court; 128 cases remain open.
In NY, Looting is treated like a 2nd/3rd degree FELONY Burglary.
An according the NY Law. A person Jailed for or Convicted but still on probation for a Felony can't vote in NY.
So arresting and charging them for Looting is quite a serious problem for the Socialist-Democrat party. Because it would prohibit such persons from voting in 2022 & 2024 elections. ☺☻☻☻☺

[IsraelTimes] Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed 10 drones fired at the kingdom by Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... rebels in Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , state media reports, quoting the Saudi-led military coalition battling the bad boys.
The official Saudi Press Agency reports that seven of the drones targeted regions in southern Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. [Rudaw] Two members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party have been confirmed killed and one injured in a Ottoman TurkishArclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... on a vehicle in the Sharbazher area of Sulaimani province, a local mayor has confirmed to Rudaw.
The airstrike took place in Galala village, according to Kamaran Hassan, the mayor of the nearby town of Mawat.
A fire has broken out in the village, according to footage submitted to Rudaw by a local resident, who said the PKK vehicle was passing through the area at the time of the attack and was struck just before 7pm.
It comes less than a week after four people were killed in a Ottoman Turkish airstrike on a vehicle in Sulaimani’s Halsho subdistrict.
Ottoman Turkish airstrikes have time and time again targeted mountains near the Sharbazher area.
The strike on Saturday comes amid ongoing Ottoman Turkish operations in Duhok province targeting the PKK.
[AnNahar] Lebanese authorities seized Friday millions of Captagon pills in the port of Beirut, placed in two containers loaded with stones and prepared for smuggling to Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century... Caretaker Minister of Interior Mohammed Fahmi on Friday revealed that the shipment was bound for Jeddah.
Security forces have doubled down to prevent smuggling from Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch... , regularly carrying out drug busts on its soil.
Fahmi asked all countries to have trust in Lebanon and asked the citizens in Lebanon to join their efforts with security forces in order to help restore confidence in Lebanon.
He congratulated the port’s Customs on seizing millions of Captagon pills, pointing to coordination between all security agencies, contributing to curbing the scourge of smuggling.
He stated that security agencies arrested the criminal masterminds involved in drug smuggling, and that efforts are ongoing to track more sides involved.
In May, Saudi Arabia banned Lebanese fruit and vegetable imports after seizing 5.3 million banned Captagon pills hidden in a consignment of pomegranates reportedly from Lebanon.
A strong motivator to ignore bribes long since spent...
Lebanon urged Saudi Arabia to rethink the ban on Lebanese fruit and vegetable imports.
