[ZMan] Now that the Covid panic is finally winding down, it is a good time to look at how it quickly became a religion for many people. It is fair to assume that most people looked at Covid as a blend of public health and public policy. They do not know much about either topic, so they trusted what they were told. Others, however, embraced Covid and the rules around it like a new religion. The rituals and statistics quickly became the central point around which they organized their lives.
One of the first signs of this happening were the personal testimonials. By the late spring of last year, the Covidian had stories to tell. "I know of four people who have died from Covid this month" was a popular one. Despite the statistical improbability, millions were telling us about their personal war with Covid. The victims became younger as the age realty became apparent. Finally at the end, we are getting stories about the unvaccinated dying despite being healthy.
The joiner always personalizes her latest fetish. On the one hand, it lets her be the star of the story. We saw this after 9/11, where millions of people swore they knew someone in the towers. It is also a personal testimony to show how the believer has now given herself over to the faith. It is a show of piety. Of course, it also insulates the believer from having to explain herself. It is an appeal to authority in which her alleged suffering makes her the unquestionable authority.
Then there is the suffering that comes with every civic religion. Sacrifice is an important part of all religions. Membership is not supposed to be easy as the value of anything easily attained is always low. In the case of Covid, the goofy mask wearing, standing six feet apart and other nonsense was quickly and mindlessly embraced. It was a public sacrament, like taking communion. Of course, this gave the Covidian a chance to lecture the rest of us about the need to respect their piety.
* SNIP *
Every religion has its apostles, and this was no different. The army of pseudo-intellectual poseurs that spring up in the media are always there to add authority to the latest narratives. All of a sudden, anyone with a connection to medicine or immunology was preaching from a digital street corner. The fact that none of them knew a thing about this disease or public policy did not matter. All that mattered is they were there telling us to repent or fear the wrath of Covid.
Probably the most obnoxious aspect of the civic religion is the martyrs. Because democracy turns deadbeats into civil servants and civil servants into priests, every politician quickly became a martyr to the cause. Every state with draconian Covid laws has a governor who publicly nailed herself to the cross. You see, they really hate passing these crazy laws, but they are suffering for all of us in this twilight struggle against the great threat to humanity known as Covid.

[Townhall] The massive dump of emails from Dr. Anthony Fauci as they pertain to the coronavirus being "potentially engineered" and Fauci's fixation with gain of function research is suspect enough. As it turns out, though, the head of NIAID is also connected to human-animal hybrid experiments using aborted fetal parts, which have taken place at the University of Pittsburgh. Students for Life of America and the Center for Medical Progress are sounding the alarm.
Last week, Kristan Hawkins, president of SFLA, spoke with John Zmirak for an interview with The Stream.

[Rusvesna] In May, French senators visited Kiev. They probably wanted to see that Ukraine is making leaps and bounds towards holy democracy and tolerance, but everything turned out to be quite the opposite.
Now the French Senate is on its ears, because either the diplomatic relations of the countries will sink into oblivion, or the head of the country's Foreign Ministry admits that Nazism is normal. But first things first.
Senators Jean-Pierre Maug, Natalie Gulet and Joel Gerriot are members of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the French Senate. They arrived in Kiev, were stunned, went home and now "cut off the phone" to the French Foreign Minister, demanding his speech on the Ukrainian issue.
The French were shocked by the fact that in the center of the Ukrainian capital there are Azov tents, where you can buy documents of the dead Nazis, join a battalion and shoot from a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities do nothing about it. Nazi propaganda is in full swing in the capital, but everyone doesn't care.
These actions are extremely alarming, and I would like to know what is the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on this issue and what measures it intends to take to avoid the spread of this deadly ideology," written in the request of the French senators.
According to French political scientist Omar Arfush, the senators were shocked by what they saw in Kiev. They filmed everything and sent a request to French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. Now he is obliged to answer, and his answer will become the official position of the country.
And now let us remember that Roman Protasevich, who was detained in Minsk, served in "Azov" , and in fact he is so supported by the Western world. In addition, a meeting between the President of the United States and the French leader will soon take place. Later, a personal dialogue between Vladimir Putin ...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... and Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. The very model of propity.... is also planned.
"If the Foreign Minister refuses to recognize the activities of neo-Nazi ...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously and purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both.... groups in Ukraine at a Senate meeting, the authors of the request will oppose him. If he immediately expresses concern about the situation in Ukraine, then this can affect the entire policy towards Ukraine," Arfush said.
The French senators created a very delicate situation, but, importantly, they did not ignore what was happening. Especially considering that there are more and more Nazi scandals in Ukraine. For example, on May 9, a representative of the nationalist organization C14"zigged" when a veteran passed by .
The authorities blamed not a young neo-Nazi for this, but the journalists of the Strana newspaper - they say, they all provoked it. And only after the story spread in the media, a protocol was drawn up for the guy.
So there is definitely a problem with the spread of neo-Nazi ideology in Ukraine. Let's see how this will affect the attitude of the "square" with La Belle France.
Not much of a scandal so far:
A group of French senators demanded that official Gay Paree respond appropriately to the spread of neo-Nazism in Ukraine and stop its spread. About this writes the newspaper "Strana.ua", which provided a copy of the statement.
Members of the French Senate Foreign Relations Committee Natalie Goulet, Jean-Pierre Mogue and Joelle Guerriot visited Kiev in late May and were angry that Nazi symbols were openly exchanged in the city center and enlisted in the Azov battalion. , known for encouraging neo-Nazi sentiments (the organization was banned in Russia — approx. "Lenta.ru").
Senators also point out that such associations are developing more and more active activities "with firearms, practices of assembling and disassembling Kalashnikov assault rifles and promotional services." French politicians are appalled by the growing number of white supremacist militias inciting attacks across Europe.
They have sent a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and, according to the source of the publication, intend to ensure that the condemnation of neo-Nazi groups in Ukraine becomes the official position of La Belle France. "I would like to know what measures the ministry intends to take to prevent the spread of this deadly ideology," the senators said in a statement.
The Azov battalion was formed as a volunteer in May 2014, immediately after the outbreak of the armed conflict in southeastern Ukraine. Initially secondary to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, now it is a special unit as part of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Yeah so, the Uke Circus was in town, your handlers didn't want you to miss it.
The French have turned into such "soft boys" since Lom & Sellars died, just no masculinity left in France... It's OK sweet boys, the islamist will be the majority in less than 17 years, you won't be in charge then, , go back to the Ukraine and enjoy the circus.

...Sadly, this reinforces something historians have said since 1945: Had the actual Nazis had even a clue, they would have presented and conducted themselves as liberators and allies in the Ukraine and not treated them as Untermenschen. Had they done so, Soviet survival - far from a sure thing - would have been an iffy proposition at best.
And even with the way things turned out historically, the Ukraine seems to have still embraced way too much of the NDSAP's policies than would be good for any civilized nation.
Whatever's going on there is bad. If it's not controlled quickly, it could be lots, lots worse.

"The French were shocked...."
Didn't the French leadership (Vichy France) during WWII help the NAZI's to save and enrich their own A$$'s?
Having lost an brother there in the very WWII early weeks hedge war fighting and who is buried there. My Father was bitter towards the French to say the least and he often said "The French they fight with their Feet and F___ with their faces."

Weird. Open allegiance to Hitler and his ideals never bothers the French when it's Arabs doing it.

Ukraine is an odd country. Side by side with the neo-Nazi racist nonsense they elected a Jewish comedian/actor/producer/banker as president in 2019 with 73% of the vote. He followed this by holding a snap election for parliament, which gave his brand new, no-seat party a majority of the seats.
[Conservative Treehouse] Dr. Anthony Fauci has been labeled the “GOFFATHER” (Gain Of Function Father) for his efforts to create a weaponized SARS virus that was unleashed on the world. In this brilliant piece of agitprop, Fauci learns how the cover-up is failing and the world is recognizing his role in the creation of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

He won't be fired. He facilitated the election fraud and might know too much.
If I were him I'll avoid walks in the park, time alone, etc... I see an onset of severe sucidial tendencies in his future once Hillary makes the call to the suicide hotline.
[Lifehack] For the past 100 years or so, there have been huge improvements in communication. From letters to phone calls to text messages to video calls to social networks. There are more than 1 billion monthly active Facebook users. Although initially it aimed to bring all people together for the sake of connecting, the effects of Facebook on masses became a huge debate after it gained so much popularity, with some even suggesting you deactivate your account.
The advantages of social media and its ability to connect us to people around the world are well known. Now, it’s time to dive into the ways Facebook affects your productivity and why you should ultimately consider quitting Facebook.
[Just The News] Researchers at the University of Arizona this week announced findings that puppies appear to be hardwired from birth to mesh with human beings—further evidence of the millenia-long bond between canines and humans.
The study, announced by researchers at the University of Arizona, stated that dog social skills "may be present shortly after birth rather than learned." Researchers also reportedly determined that genetics might explain "why some dogs perform better than others on social tasks such as following pointing gestures."
"There was evidence that these sorts of social skills were present in adulthood, but here we find evidence that puppies — sort of like humans — are biologically prepared to interact in these social ways," said Emily Bray, a lead author of the study and a postdoctoral research associate at the university.
Dogs are believed to have been domesticated thousands of years ago from a now-extinct line of wolves. There are estimated to be several hundred distinct breeds of dog throughout the world.

Even baby snakes are somewhat cute and I hate snakes. We are genetically pre-disposed to feel warm fuzzies over the extra large eyes human babies have and the feeling overflows a bit onto other baby animals.

Apparently people get a dose of oxytocin when they interact with a dog -- but not when they interact with even a tame wolf. People who liked dogs left more offspring than those who didn't.
