[Babylon Bee] U.S.—After a successful 2020, media organizations have announced a cooperative effort to create at least 25% more racism in the year 2021.
"Racism is our lifeblood, it's what we live to talk about every single day," said CNN President Jeff Zucker. "We work diligently to find it everywhere we can-- and when we can't find it, we must create it. This year, we are redoubling our efforts to bathe the American public in racial resentment until everyone is living in despair and agrees how terrible our country is!"
"It's an important service we provide for the people," he continued.
Major media companies such as ABC, NBC, and CBS confirmed they will be cooperating to ensure every news story and piece of entertainment is selectively chosen and edited to hide the truth, skew reality, and tell a narrative of racism and discrimination.
"It's the right thing to do," said one NBC producer.
Sources confirmed that once racism has successfully caused the dismantling of America's legal system, they will move on to climate change to dismantle America's economic system.

For 89 years Democrats have controlled the Chicago Mayor’s Office.
At the end of fiscal 2019 the Chicago deficit was $838,200,000!
Can someone please explain how it's possible for Republicans, in particular or white people in general, to be responsible for Chicago's horrendously dismal condition?
Asa man, I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me “Privileged”, a racist & responsible for slavery.
I am a fiscal & moral conservative, which by today’s standards, makes me a fascist because I plan, budget & support myself.
I went to High School, got in some college, got a degree & have always held a job. But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was “advantaged”.
I am heterosexual, which according to “gay" folks, now makes me a homophobe. I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.
I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which makes me a de facto member of the “vast NRA gun lobby”.
I am older than 70, making me a useless eater who doesn’t understand Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat.
I think & I reason, and I doubt much of what the “main stream" media tells me, which makes me a "Right-wing conspiracy nut”. I am proud of my heritage & our inclusive American culture, making me a xenophobe.
I believe in hard work, fair play, & fair compensation according to each individual’s merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist
I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort - not freedom of outcome or subsidies which must make me a borderline sociopath.
I believe in the defense & protection of America for & by all citizens, now making me a militant.
I am proud of our flag, what it stands for and the many who died to let it fly, so I stand & salute during our National Anthem - so I must be a racist.
Please help me come to terms with the new me because I'm just not sure who I am anymore! Funny - it all took place over the last 8 or 10 years! If all this nonsense wasn't enough to deal with, now I don't even know which restroom to use… and I gotta go more FREQUENTLY.

#1 doesn't even include the educational system in the area that left vast areas unprepared to succeed and fed their brains with excuses and hostility.
Legal Insurrection via Instapundit
There are features of American wokeness that make me gasp that socialism in the U.S. is going to be worse than the USSR where I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. The ongoing effort to transform mathematics education into a crypto-Marxist indoctrination vehicle seems like the sign of things to come.
The California Department of Education recently drafted "Equitable Math" framework that, if implemented, will destroy what’s left of mathematics education in the Golden State. Along with the directive to privilege students on the basis of sex and skin color, the proposal essentially calls for the end of math. Fox News explains, "Another document calls for centering ’ethnomathematics,’ designing a ’culturally sustainable math space,’ and supporting students ’to reclaim their mathematical ancestry.'"
...Mathematics developed over the course of centuries, and across many civilizations. Because it reveals eternal truths, it can be practiced by anyone. The purpose of a mathematics classroom is to teach students mathematics, not to confuse them with anthropological data relating to counting.
...The most revealing question, however, is not about the "oppressive mathematical practices," or even about doubting the centrality of being right. These discussion topics naturally flow out of lack of understanding of methodology revealed in the question "Why/how does data-driven processes prevent liberation?"
Math is not a data-driven, inductive field like the physical sciences where conclusions are reached by collecting and studying evidence. Math works by deduction, a top-down process of reaching conclusions that are true for all numbers. As I pointed out, because it’s deductive, math is "hermetically proofed from any ideological contamination. If physical sciences still depend on data-gathering, math does not. Feelings and subjective experiences absolutely cannot figure into mathematical inquiry." We are back to the #1 liberal problem - refusing to admit that humans differ in innate ability.

This is becoming one of those unfortunately overilluminated civilizations in Douglas Adams' funny stories; societies that end up destroying themselves out of a need to be correct.

I disagree. On the face of it, the implication in this policy is that minorities are unable to learn math and that is as racist as it gets. But I don't believe the socialists are so much racists as they are socialists. By that I mean I believe this is a cynical exploitation of race to bring about the destruction of the educational system. Then, when people are too poorly educated, too ignorant to know any better, a totalitarian police state can be implemented with a minimum of resistance. Americans will then become slaves to state-run globalist industries in much the same way as the Chinese people are today.

Well, Abu, give me a name of an African-American (or an African-African) who has a math theorem named after him (or her).

The fact that I cannot do as you suggest, grom, is not proof that blacks and/or other minorities are unable to learn math. Nor does it mean that we should dismantle our educational system and thereby pave the way for socialism.
Read what I wrote: On the face of it, the implication in this policy is that minorities are unable to learn math...
IOW, on the face of it, the policy is an admission that minorities cannot do math.
If that is true, it would put you on the liberal side of the argument.

(a) Not all the minorities - just one.
(b) Concerning that specific minority - do you have an evidence to the contrary. In fact, not just in math - can you produce any evidence that two generation of (extreme) preference produced an intellectual flourishing among African-Americans (public sector jobs don't count)?
it would put you on the liberal side of the argument

Given that African-Americans average about 50% Caucasian, the race argument is built on an unsteady foundation. Growing up in poverty and in a culture that decrees that studying hard and observing the bourgeois virtues is a race betrayal are much stronger handicaps, it seems to me. But here is a list of successful Black Republicans/Conservatives, like Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, proving that every group of humans has its geniuses.
[PJ] On Friday, President Joe Biden was supposed to welcome the first international head of state to visit the White House during his administration. According to the staffer who runs the president’s Twitter account, Biden was looking forward to this press avail:
I’m not sure what it is about our alliance with Japan that needs renewing. It’s been pretty solid for decades, and President Donald Trump was a staunch ally against Chinese aggression, the biggest threat to the island nation. There were actually protests in Japan on Inauguration Day 2021. The New York Post credits President Trump’s close relationship with former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his willingness to stand up to China as the reason for his support in Japan.
Hyperbole aside, Biden was a no-show. Instead, Vice President Kamala Harris welcomed Prime Minister Suga. While she got through it without the hideous cackle that is usually present when she is nervous, her performance was still rather hideous:

Watching the brief video of the vice president’s little speech of welcome, it’s clear she was very uncomfortable in the role, and is likely deeply regretting the bargain that got her there. And then the president missed the meeting altogether, only showing up over an hour late to the press conference afterward — if they have the PM Abe’s hotel room bugged, the transcript will no doubt be educational.

After realizing the state of Biden's dementia I am sure Kamala realized she was in over her head and you can almost sense that every time you see her appearing to be like a deer in the headlights look.

Appears as if she was pulled in at the last minute when they couldn't find Joe.
C'mon. It was his nap time.

I watched the video with the sound off because I can't stand the sound of that woman's voice. But I will say it was nice of the PM to stand there with a straight face the whole time she was speaking.

No excuse for that tramp or the various aides. I almost think it is more bull sh!t to make it look like it was a "real surprise" when everybody and their brother knows that the tramp needs to be prepared for everything as is she already were the prez.
[Legal Insurrection] The bottom line: If the verdict were based solely on the legal merits, the facts and law in this case, were I personally a juror I would have more than enough reasonable doubt to be unable to vote guilty on any of these criminal charges, for all the reasons of fact and law that I detail below.
That said, this case left the "facts and law" train station quite some time ago, making where it will end up largely unpredictable in any realistic sense, especially given the political and social dynamics looking to drive this train clear off the rails

Once again, my former home town covers itself in glory. Getting burned out of that now shithole in 2017 has turned out be quite the blessing. It was once a beautiful town. The Dems took care of that as they tend to do.

There will be rioting no matter what the verdict. In the unlikely event that Chauvin is acquitted, there will be rioting, led on by Maxine Waters. If he is convicted, there will be rioting in celebration.

Nobody knows what the jury will do. It's fun to make predictions, but the predictions are close to worthless.
Once the jury retires, the next thing we are likely to hear from them is a series of notes asking for clarification of the instructions given by the judge. Those notes will be dissected and poured over like Japanese radio traffic on the eve of Midway.
But I think Rambler #3 is right. The situation reminds me of The Guns of August, where the armies have been mobilized and are spoiling for a fight. The jury verdict will be like one last diplomatic communique before the armies cross the frontiers.
An interesting issue is how the judge will handle the announcement of the verdict. I don't know what Minnesota law allows, but you would hope the judge is able to allow the jurors to be removed to an undisclosed location (like New Zealand) before the verdict is made public.

If he is convicted, mass police resignations across the country could result.
And these are children who have been allowed, by design, to throw a temper-tantrum in the china shop for months-on-end. When the rod comes - which it must one-way or another, and reality hit them in the face hard, it will get very ugly very fast.
Instead, selection will be made based on group membership, declared gender identity, and also some affirmative action to redress un-enumerated historical grievances.

What I came away with from covering criminal court back in the day is that if I was charged with something serious that I did not do, I would take my chances with the judge. Crime reporters (when being honest) all have more horror stories about the casual stupidity of jurors than a grizzly bear has hairs on its hide.

Followed by mass hires based on skin color?
If I was a cop I would not resign (thus opening my position to political racial replacement) but just engage in 'on-the-job retirement.'

They need to get a jury of 12 suicidal individuals wracked with guilt to pose as the real jurors for the cameras and everything while the real jurors watch on video from a bunker somewhere.

[JPost] The Biden administration is open to hearing Israeli concerns, but doesn’t seem to be taking them into consideration, the source added.
Israeli ministers expressed concern about the nuclear talks between the US and Iran, following a diplomatic-security cabinet meeting on Sunday.
"The Americans want a deal at all costs and the Iranians know it," said a source in the meeting.
The Biden administration is open to hearing Israeli concerns, the source added, but doesn’t seem to be taking them into consideration.
The diplomatic-security cabinet meeting — the first in two months — focused on the Iranian threat a week after a major attack on the nuclear site at Natanz, as well as an attack on an Iranian ship serving as a military base on the Red Sea, both by Israel according to security sources, and as the US and Iran hold indirect negotiations.
Cabinet ministers heard security briefings from the head of security branches, including National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat and Mossad chief Yossi Cohen, who plan to travel to Washington next week and meet with Biden administration officials. The ministers discussed how to respond to the US position, and will continue meeting on the topic next week.

[WSJ] THE TROUBLE with any Bugatti is legibility. Sure, they are fast; a modified Chiron set a series production road-car record of 304.7 mph in 2019. But the badges are so small and they go by so quickly. How are people supposed to read that?
And thus the Chiron Pur Sport’s extraordinary fixed rear wing, a carbon-fiber scimitar emblazoned with the word. Also, should anyone wonder how many cylinders, the Pur Sport has "16" stenciled on its horse collar-shaped, 3D-printed grillwork—a charismatic touch drawn from the company’s racing history, if a little, um, AutoZone-y, in this presentation. [CafeHayek] Phil Magness is a national — nay, a global — treasure. Here’s a post from his Facebook page, in which he further exposes both the gross incompetence of Neil Ferguson and the Imperial College ’modelers,’ as well as Ferguson & Co.’s downright dishonesty. Here it is:
Huge discovery this morning showing data malfeasance involving Imperial College and Neil Ferguson.
Almost exactly 1 year ago I wrote an article on how a team of researchers at Uppsala University had adapted Ferguson’s UK model to Sweden, and yielded preposterous results — e.g. a prediction of over 90K dead if they did not go into lockdowns. My article made waves over in the UK, and Ferguson himself was grilled about it in testimony before the House of Lords. This caused Imperial College to fire off a bunch of tweets and statements disavowing any connection to the Uppsala adaptation of their model. It wasn’t their product, they insisted, and Imperial itself had never claimed between 40-100K deaths would result in Sweden
Well guess what. On March 26, 2020 the Imperial team released an update to its Covid model labeled as "Report 12" on its website. Buried deep in a spreadsheet appendix file, they included the results of their own runs of their same model for dozens of other countries...including Sweden. I reproduce a screenshot of it below from the spreadsheet. Their results were almost identical to what the Uppsala team got, including a top-end projection of 90,157 deaths if Sweden did not go into lockdown.
DBx: Why does anyone pay attention — why did anyone ever pay attention — to Ferguson and his fellow Imperial College clowns?
[ACM via Lucianne] Did you hear about the peer-reviewed study done by Stanford University that demonstrates beyond a reasonable doubt that face masks have absolutely zero chance of preventing the spread of Covid-19? No? It was posted on the the National Center for Biological Information government website. The NCBI is a branch of the National Institute for Health, so one would think such a study would be widely reported by mainstream media and embraced by the "science-loving" folks in Big Tech.
Instead, a DuckDuckGo search reveals it was picked up by ZERO mainstream media outlets and Big Tech tyrants will suspend people who post it, as political strategist Steve Cortes learned the hard way when he posted a Tweet that went against the face mask narrative. The Tweet itself featured a quote and a link that prompted Twitter to suspend his account, potentially indefinitely. Spoiler Alert: They don't work
face masks don't prevent the spread, they slow the spread
so instead of, say, 900,000 dying, 700,000 dying
because some people got vaccinated before they would have otherwise been infected and died

I should probably add that the masks may also have reduced flu deaths but increased suicides from depression and also probably increased fentanyl and other opioid overdose deaths.
Doing the arithmetic for this is pretty depressing.

Currently after vaccine reinfection rates far more lethal. Permanently impaired auto-immune host. In my area a late forty fellow got his vaccine late afternoon. He was in perfect health. Then at 2AM he experienced a heart attack. Then to hospital where he experienced three more heart attacks and was declared brain dead. Autopsy showed cause of death blood clots. He had received the J&J vaccine. His wife being a ICU or CCU nurse was able to get the vaccine early as with her husband. She suffered no ill effects.
89 year old woman who's son was in charge of care was bypassed by her physician and was given the vaccine. Son was quite perturbed. Physician wanted to prescribe highly addictive pain killer medicine but son declined the suggestion. Son requested medical marijuana route as that is his treatment for severe episodes of pain from a car accident years ago with necessary spinal fusion. So now she just requested that treatment course of action.

More to #3: The Dallas Morning News reported on the front page this morning that 'health officials' credit the use of face masks and social distancing for the great reduction in influenza cases.
My wife posited that theory a month ago, to which I replied, "Then why don't those measures work on COVID?"
I guess I'll have to read the newspaper article to see how they explained it.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
