[AmGreatness] David Koresh was the leader of a religious cult, the Branch Davidians. He and many of his followers met a tragic end in 1993 at their Waco, Texas compound.
Jim Jones fled the United States to Jonestown, Guyana. He, along with more than 900 of his devotees, ended up dead in a mass murder-suicide in November 1978.
In both cases, their disciples believed these cult leaders. They believed their message.
The 2020 viral pandemic caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)—COVID-19—has also gathered a Charles Manson-like cult following.
Borrowing from Koresh’s denominational moniker, let’s call them the Branch Covidians.
BY FAITH ALONE
Like all religious cults, the Branch Covidians believe by faith. They don’t have a particular catechism or central document they use to indoctrinate their pupils. This is because most everything to which they bend the knee is theory. It changes day by day.
Separate from the deity of the virus itself, the Branch Covidians do have clergy that is quick to preach a sermon in a moment’s notice, especially if there are TV cameras around. That clergy is led by "America’s Doctor" Pope Anthony Fauci, M.D. And Branch Covidian converts are quick to repeat the COVID-19 law when given the orders from the pulpit.
A staple liturgical mantra of Branch Covidian doctrine has been to "follow the science." Unfortunately, this has resembled divination more than it has bona fide "science."
Although they do not have a holy book to disseminate or specific houses of worship to attend, they do have the four pillars of the COVID faith.
These must be strictly followed if eternal life is desired. Those who do not comply will be cast to an eternal place of damnation. It is an area of scorn constructed specifically for all heathens who fail to comply with the Covidian faith.
PILLAR OF FAITH NO. 1: LOCKDOWNS
Data are not on the side of the Branch Covidian Cult when it comes to lockdowns. But Covidians strongly believe that lockdowns work. Pope Fauci clearly made that proclamation!
It was a false prophecy from the beginning. One of the Pope’s apostles, California Governor Gavin Newsom, placed the edict of complete lockdown on his parishioners, with little leeway.
The "scientific" statistics have significantly favored Covidian apostate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He chose not to lock down his state and to allow the freedom for citizens to practice other non-Covidian religions.
The Branch Covidians, however, cannot be shaken in their faith even when staring at real numbers. They believe in lockdowns. Pillars 2 through 4 at link...

Morning news had a report about 'the most dangerous county in America' reaching a 50% 'vaccinated' status.
Most dangerous because the death by covid was completely outside the box and whisker, like 3%. 50% with the shot is impressive too.
Here's the thing: I know Gove County. There is like a grain elevator, a gas station, and an entrance to I-70, and a handful of nice people. So a handful of Death by Covid really pumps that number up, conversely 50% Shot Rate only requires a few people.
Similar story, fun with statistics. Few years back, one of the old cattle trail to railroad towns which had dried up quite a while ago, rails pulled up and everything decades ago. Well it had a growth rate one year of 80% when everywhere else showed a loss. Government and media sent research teams to find the secret of their success. Ends up some 10 people moved into the town.
I'll leave it up to the reader to determine what is and is not a rational approach to the many facets presented, and weigh appropriately. I just want to point out that if this is the great plague it would sell itself, and not need the carrot of fame, the cudgel on the questioners, and the damnable bards of statistics.
So I will grab my Romeo Y Julieta, travel to the nearest grocery store, confident everyone's mask will screen the evidence.
And I can be confident, that when Big Airline says the middle aisle is ok now instead of a month from now, or Big Box says its ok to get your second shot after 2 weeks instead of the 4 weeks agreed upon 2 weeks ago, it has absolutely nothing to do with inter-corporate needs and everything to do with Science.

"That’s why we must act quickly to get states like Georgia off the map, both literally and figuratively." Alert Governor Stacey Abrams!
Starting today, the state of Georgia will be replaced with a blue body of water labeled "Sea of Racism" on all Google Maps platforms. Driving directions given by the site will be altered. For example, directions from South Carolina to Florida via I-95 will state: "continue south through the stupid Sea of Racism without stopping for 112 miles."
Google will also be updating searches for locations inside the state. A search for directions to Atlanta, GA now returns the following message. "Location not found. Would you like to travel to a Google-approved destination such as Seattle, Minneapolis, or Beijing?"
The spokesman went on to clarify that Google hasn’t completely abandoned the state. "Google will still provide one-way driving directions out of the state for anyone who currently resides in Georgia," he noted. "Also, we will still provide directions to any out-of-state celebrities or businesses who want to donate money to the Georgia Democratic Party."

Apple CEO Tim Cook suggested that concept in a new interview with The New York Times, published just days after Cook joined a growing coalition of business leaders who criticized a restrictive new Georgia voting law.
"I would dream of that, because I think that's where we live," Cook said when Swisher asked if the tech would be the answer to some modern voting issues, like fraud. "We do our banking on phones. We have our health data on phones. We have more information on a phone about us than is in our houses. And so why not?"
America's voting systems are notoriously low-tech, which stands in glaring contrast to modern systems of banking, commerce, and healthcare.

why not? a national registry of CITIZENS would assure that a citizen could only vote once and that only citizens could vote. its no ore intrusive than sociable security.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told department employees he may restart border wall construction to plug what he called "gaps" in the current barrier.
In a conversation with ICE employees last week Mr. Mayorkas was asked about his plans for the wall and he said that while Mr. Biden has canceled the border emergency and halted Pentagon money flowing to the wall, "that leaves room to make decisions" on finishing some "gaps in the wall."
Mr. Mayorkas, according to notes of the ICE session reviewed by The Washington Times, said Customs and Border Protection, which oversees the wall, has submitted a plan for what it wants to see happen moving forward.
So, after all the talk about how Trump had a racist and inhumane immigration policy, we have Joey Biden’s DHS chief saying he wants to fill the gaps that are present in the border wall. So, let’s see if I have this straight. The Biden administration agrees with Trump on the SALT caps for taxes, will probably keep the lion’s share of the middle-class tax cuts Trump signed into law four years ago, and now could restart border wall construction. He also signed an executive order to strengthen the "made in America" aspect of our goods. Buy American, America first—these are Trump positions.

The collapse of UK-based supply chain finance firm Greensill Capital continues to reverberate. In Germany the private banking association has paid out around €2.7 billion to more than 20,500 Greensill Bank customers as part of its deposit guarantee scheme after the bank collapsed in early March. But the deposits of institutional investors such as other financial institutions, investment firms, and local authorities are not covered. Fifty municipalities are believed to be nursing losses of at least €500 million.
Greensill’s biggest source of funds, Credit Suisse, has seen its share price plunge by almost a quarter. This is due not only to the fallout from Greensill’s collapse but also the impact of losses at its prime brokerage division caused by the stricken U.S. hedge fund Archegos, which are expected to reach €4 billion. The lender has warned of "considerable uncertainty" regarding the valuation of its supply chain finance fund. More than $5 billion of the roughly $10 billion invested in the fund remains outstanding.

[Babylon Bee] TALLAHASSEE, FL—In response to being caught deceptively editing a statement by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who later called them "lairs" for pushing a "fake narrative," CBS hit back today with another bombshell.
Several photos, described by CBS as "totally real and authentic," appear to show DeSantis clubbing baby seals with his best friend Adolf Hitler.
"We are shocked and saddened by this terrible reveal of Desantis's past," said correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi. "It would appear from these completely undoctored photographs, that Ron DeSantis is both a fan of clubbing baby seals and a Nazi. Please know that I am just as saddened by this news as I'm sure the rest of the country is."
In a statement, Governor DeSantis replied: "This is not true! I love baby seals! And I've never met Hitler!"
60 Minutes later reported the Governor's statement as: "This is... true! I love [clubbing] baby seals! And I've... met Hitler!"
The governor later thanked CBS for helping to launch his presidential campaign.

Breyer offered an ominous warning to Democrats plotting to "reform" the court, telling Harvard Law students that they should think "long and hard" before making any changes to the institution. Court-packing à la FDR would only exacerbate the politicization around it, and erode confidence in yet another American institution of government:
Politically driven change could diminish the trust Americans place in the court, Breyer said in the prepared text of a long speech he gave remotely Tuesday to Harvard Law School students, faculty and alumni.
His talk, Breyer said, "seeks to make those whose initial instincts may favor important structural (or other similar institutional) changes, such as forms of ’court-packing,’ think long and hard before embodying those changes in law." ...
He noted, for example, that despite the court’s conservative majority, the court in the past year refrained from getting involved in the 2020 election, delivered a victory to Louisiana abortion clinics and rejected former President Donald Trump’s effort to end legal protections for immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.
Politico suggests that this might be some sort of farewell address. The same people who are pressing for "reform" of the Supreme Court have also been demanding that Breyer retire while Democrats control the Senate ... more or less. They are still sore over Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s refusal to retire while Barack Obama had the authority to choose her successor rather than Donald Trump. At age 82 (83 in August), Breyer’s getting to the point where he might not be able to plan his exit if he doesn’t act soon to go out on his own terms.

There really are days when I believe the Democrats /want/ a civil war. Why I don't know, cause they lose no matter what pretty much in every scenario.

The recently announced infrastructure spending plan includes money for roads, bridges, housing, schools and a better electrical grid — all things that FDR spent big on as well. If passed, Biden’s bill will alter the physical landscape of the nation, leaving a legacy of shiny new construction and improved living standards for the poor. Biden’s support for unions also echoes FDR’s creation of the modern system of labor organizing. Like the New Deal, Biden’s programs would help reverse a decades-long trend of rising inequality.
