[Daily Beast] MIAMI—By the end of next week, Nancy Krinick expects to get her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. But the 67-year-old legal secretary from Sunrise, Florida, plans on keeping her daily routine of avoiding virtually all human contact even after she’s fully inoculated. The same goes for her sister and her brother-in-law, both of whom are over 65 and got their first shots together with her at Marlins Park in Miami, Krinick told The Daily Beast.
"With these new variants, we are still worried," she said, adding, "It seems like this is never-ending."
She will continue to get her groceries delivered to her home via Instacart, avoid dining out, and put off visiting her daughter in Knoxsville, Tennessee, until a majority of the U.S. population has been immunized, Krinick said.

I have no idea the name but I remember a science fiction short story with a group of germaphobic observers watching a group of normal people. They were dirty, filthy and decon after a trip outside took like 3 hours a day. Then the main character's suit rips and he discovers that nothing happens. Since they wouldn't let him back inside, he eats the food, drinks the water and still nothing happens and low and behold it's all been lies told to keep them contained and restricted.

Florida is one of the BEST places, with far lower deaths than NY and California.
But these leftards have to keep up the constant drumbeat of FEAR FEAR FEAR in the press for their dupes- otherwise, people might start looking and thinking for themselves, and they realize they have been lied to by the leftist press, and the whole thing collapses on their pointy Progressive Socialista fascist heads.
I'll gladly supply the rope when the time comes to hold these "journalists" Like Tina Brown (publisher of the Daily Beast) aaccountable.
[Breaking 922] President Joe Biden called on Congress to pass "common-sense gun law reforms" Sunday. The statement from Biden comes on the three-year anniversary of the school shooting massacre in Parkland, Florida. Biden promised "this administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call."

They can't hear you, APOTUS. The abcessive compulsives of Congress are too busy picking at their self-imposed wounds and seeking to add more whilst tilting at Orange Man.

There is a deal going around, something like, "If you think they are treating you bad now, wait until they disarm you."
The simple truth is, if the 2022 election is free, open, fair, and true, they would blow up their holding in Congress knowing that the 2 years of punishing gun holders -who are not on their team- could never be undone.
But that isn't reality, when they do the big steal not once, but twice in Alabama. No, we will not vote our way out because they will not allow a vote out.

When it dawns on you, during the war,
That you went just a little too far--
That the tools that you used
On the fools you abused
Turned on you-- Genius, have a cigar!

In current climate I should perhaps make it clear that "you" above refers to generic ignorant guilt-tripped go-alongs father than any particular person.

That description is neither accurate nor complete.

As recently as November 3, 2020, in an article published with Peter J. Hotez of Baylor College of Medicine, Shibo Jiang indicated his professional address is not China’s Fudan University, but the Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute, New York Blood Center, New York, NY, 10065, USA.
That article is found in the Results section of research grant 4R01AI098775-05 for $1,165,855 entitled "RBD [receptor binding domain] RECOMBINANT PROTEIN-BASED SARS VACCINE FOR BIODEFENSE" and awarded by Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), in which Shibo Jiang is listed as a Principal Investigator.
That research grant includes collaboration with the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, home of the Department of Defense-funded Center for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases, which houses a BL-4 high containment facility for viral research.

Perhaps we should discontinue any additional inquiries regarding the origins of COVID-19. National Security concerns, 'Settled Science' and all of that.
Just finished Page 220, Sarah Rose's 'D-Day Girls.' A joke some may enjoy:
France's twenty-eight-day cycle to nightly anticipation repeated in the middle of July. Wood radio cabinets wee set in the middle of sitting rooms, far from walls, windows, and curious neighbors. The evening BBC ritual was by now a national joke, "Did you hear at 9:20 a Jew killed a German soldier and ate his heart?" someone would ask. "Impossible for three reasons: Germans have no heart, Jews don't eat pork, and at 9:30 everyone is listening to the BBC."
[Just the News] Former CIA Director John Brennan on Saturday tweeted that the 43 lawmakers who voted not to convict President Trump during the Senate impeachment trial "should forever hang their heads in shame."
"By a 57-43 majority, with seven Republicans voting with the majority, the United States Senate says that Donald J. Trump incited an insurrection against the United States of America," Brennan tweeted. "Forty-three U.S. Senators should forever hang their heads in shame." As if this piece of shit knew what "shame" was?
While the Senate's second impeachment trial against former President Trump resulted in 57 senators voting that Trump was guilty and 43 voting that he was not guilty, the senate failed to clear the bar of a two-thirds majority required to convict.
The seven GOP senators who voted that Trump was guilty included Sens. Richard Burr of North Carolina, Susan Collins of Maine, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska, and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.

Vor deinen Thron tret' ich hiermit,
Und hier I'll stand and sing a bit,
And hang my head, for who should not?
But fifteen verses? Lieber Gott!
Could not this hymn be somewhat shorter?
[loud agreement] "Order! Order!
Another outburst of that sort
And I shall clear this Himmelcourt!"
"Now, granted, five was prolly plenty...
But then again, I might give twenty
Were all mankind like Marx or Lennon,
So... five for you, plus ten for Brennan."

What on earth is that about, Maggie Hupomp2614? The trailing daughters learnt English and German at the same time as toddlers, and both went through a wonderful mixed vocab/mixed grammar stage, so it took me some lines to realize you’d switched. But that was absolutely wonderful!
[Daily Caller] The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) has been on thin ice with Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot due to their tactics during negotiations to reopen schools over the winter months. Lightfoot seems to indicate she is becoming wary of over-politicization of unions, in an interview with The New York Times published Sunday.
Lightfoot told The New York Times that her city government has "labor peace" with all but two of the major labor organizations in the city—the Fraternal Order of Police, which Lightfoot accused of having "right-wing Trump aspirations," and the CTU.
"When you have unions that have other aspirations beyond being a union, and maybe being something akin to a political party, then there’s always going to be conflict," Lightfoot said, according to The New York Times.
When asked what she believes the CTU’s aims are beyond typical union-based collective bargaining, Lightfoot said "they’d like to take over not only Chicago Public Schools, but take over running the city government. That’ll play itself out over time. I don’t really spend time, and certainly not in the middle of a pandemic, worrying about the politics. But politics intrudes, always," The New York Times reported.

Well, them and the gangs who have half the Aldermen in their pocket. If she was really concerned about it, she'd withhold the salaries of all teachers and start the decertify the CTU.
It's quaint notion know only to us in the dreaded private sector - you don't work, you don't get paid.
[Off Guardian] The CIA and the media are part of the same criminal conspiracy," wrote Douglas Valentine in his important book, The CIA As Organized Crime.
This is true. The corporate mainstream media are stenographers for the national security state’s ongoing psychological operations aimed at the American people, just as they have done the same for an international audience.
We have long been subjected to this "information warfare," whose purpose is to win the hearts and minds of the American people and pacify them into victims of their own complicity, just as it was practiced long ago by the CIA in Vietnam and by The New York Times, CBS, etc. on the American people then and over the years as the American warfare state waged endless wars, coups, false flag operations, and assassinations at home and abroad.
Another way of putting this is to say for all practical purposes when it comes to matters that bear on important foreign and domestic matters, the CIA and the corporate mainstream media cannot be distinguished.
For those who read and study history, it has long been known that the CIA has placed their operatives throughout every agency of the U.S. government, as explained by Fletcher Prouty in The Secret Team; that CIA officers Cord Myer and Frank Wisner operated secret programs to get some of the most vocal exponents of intellectual freedom among intellectuals, journalists, and writers to be their voices for unfreedom and censorship, as explained by Frances Stonor Saunders in The Cultural Cold War and Joel Whitney in Finks, among others; that Cord Myer was especially focused on and successful in "courting the Compatible Left" since right wingers were already in the Agency’s pocket.
All this is documented and not disputed. It is shocking only to those who don’t do their homework and see what is happening today outside a broad historical context.

I jad forgotten how prescient that final scene was because at the time, Armaud de Bourchgrave had written a book called the Spike about when government squelched secrets being exposed as a good thing. Back then is was the left trying to topple the government. Now they are the government and are trying to suppress the awareness of the people about what they are doing to end our Republic forever.
[Babylon Bee] President Donald Trump made history once again today after being acquitted in his second Senate impeachment trial. He is now the most acquitted president in American history.
Donald Trump issued a statement regarding this incredible honor.
"I have been completely and totally cleared of all wrongdoing in this pathetic witchhunt sham impeachment trial," said Trump. "I am now the most acquitted president ever -- even more than Clinton. No president has ever been acquitted more than I have. Will I get the credit? Probably not, because of the fake news media. I am looking forward to continuing our MAGA movement together for many more acquittals to come!"
According to sources, Republican Senators cheered and high-fived each other, knowing they had just outsmarted all the Democrats into bestowing such an unprecedented badge of honor on the former president.
"Oh no! What have we done?!" wailed Senator Amy Klobuchar, suddenly realizing the Senate had given Trump yet another impressive world record, making him the subject of trivia questions for the next two centuries.
According to sources, Clinton will be handing over his giant gold "most acquitted ever" trophy to Trump in Mar-a-Lago next week.

[Sputnik] The lead author of the study noted that scientists will have to "find a way of getting up close" to the newly discovered creatures in order to learn more about them.
A peculiar breed of stationary creatures has been discovered by scientists beneath the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf in Antarctica.
According to EurekAlert!, the researchers drilled through some 900 meters of ice in order to collect sediment samples, only to find stationary animals, "similar to sponges and potentially several previously unknown species", attached to "a boulder on the sea floor".
