[The Hill] Former CIA operative and current congressional candidate Valerie Plame said Monday that FBI surveillance of President Trump's 2016 campaign was not spying.
"I absolutely do not [believe spying occurred]. These are professionals in our intelligence community, both in the Federal Bureau of Investigation and in the CIA. I have to believe that what happened was that there was real cause. And the bar is extremely high to collect information, particularly on a U.S. citizen," Plame, a Democrat running for a House seat in New Mexico, said on CNN's "New Day."
During congressional testimony last month, Attorney General William Barr called the FBI’s surveillance of members of Trump's 2016 campaign "spying." Trump has also used the term.
The Justice Department's inspector general is now reviewing whether the FBI followed correct procedures in applying for a warrant to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Republicans have said the FBI improperly relied on details from the dossier compiled by ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele when applying for the warrant.
"So I don't know all the details of what led to that, but I think Attorney General Barr's rather casual assessment that the FBI spied on candidate Trump is a little too loose with the facts," she continued.

"Professionals" such as Comey, Stryzak, Page, McCabe, and Rybicki ?
I always chuckle silently when I read about Dick Armitage and Bob Novak "blowing Plame's cover". Everyone working out of an embassy (any embassy) is automatically assumed to be an intelligence asset. Here in the States, foreign embassy folks are issued Diplomatic car tags and travel restrictions. This is done for a reason.

And there was former Clinton national security adviser Sandy Berger who used his position of trust as a former Cabinet official to steal highly-classified documents from the National Archives but then he was an amateur.

I thought she claimed to be a NOC. Wiki - Plame served the CIA at times as a non-official cover (or NOC), operating undercover in (at least) two positions in Athens and Brussels.

OC to NOC, NOC to OC.....that must be a real challenge for the document folks, not to mention the asset. How about USEMBASSY 'meet & greet' gopher, pretty face, and bullshi* artist.
BLUF:
[Washington Examiner] "We believe that insurance policy is not just about investigating the Trump campaign," Nunes said. "We believe it's to ensure that they were able to get the FISA warrant on Carter Page so they could go in and look at the emails in the campaign."

Perhaps the FBI was interested in any success DRT might have been having:
Trump campaign planned for WikiLeaks dump, tried to acquire Clinton emails, Mueller report finds.......The report also details Trump’s interest in finding another cache of Clinton documents: 33,000 emails from her home server on which she also conducted some work as secretary of state that hadn’t been retained and were tardily deleted by a technician after they were subpoenaed by the Select Committee on Benghazi.

Just a thought, but we should pass a law saying that any politician that knowingly passes disinformation must put "I lied to the voters for political gain" after the "I approved this message" on all future campaign ads.

Dead Right There?
I think B is maybe referring to Donald Trump. Onle thing is, Trumps initials are DJT.
[Washington Examiner] Trey Gowdy said on Tuesday that former CIA Director John Brennan is in more jeopardy than former FBI Director James Comey for the use of an unverified dossier for the Trump-Russia investigation.
During an interview on Fox News, the former Republican congressman from South Carolina discussed a document he saw as a leading GOP investigator before his retirement from Congress.
"I think that it's one more place for Mr. Durham to start," Gowdy said, referring to U.S. Attorney John Durham, who has been tasked by Attorney General William Barr to look into the origins of the Russia investigation.
"That's a pretty easy thing to sort out, who insisted that the dossier or the unverified material from Chris Steele be included," he said. "But ... sometimes when you have two people, I can tell from you having been in the courtroom, sometimes when people are blaming each other, they are both right. It's both of them. And I think it's interesting Brennan and Comey right now, the only thing they seem to share is a hatred for Donald Trump. It's going to be interesting if they begin to turn on one another. I've seen the document. I'm not going to describe it any more than that, Comey's got a better argument than Brennan based on what I have seen."
His interview Tuesday follows a Fox News appearance on Monday in which he encouraged investigators to track down emails between Brennan and Comey in December 2016.
Host Martha MacCallum, who conducted the Tuesday interview with Gowdy, said Fox News is reporting that those emails show Brennan discussing with Comey the use of the unverified dossier in the U.S. intelligence community's assessment on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Attorney General Barr:
Please hand me the file on the Clinton Foundation Please. Yes, the Clinton Foundation.
[NYPOST] Anthony Carlos Danger Weiner ...aka Hot Dog Tony, the remarkably offensive sex maniac six-term New York congressman who resigned in 2011, then decided everybody had forgotten by 2013, when he decided to run for mayor of New York City... wrapped up the last leg of his prison sentence for sexting an underage girl on Tuesday morning, walking out of a Bronx halfway house a free man.
"It’s good to be out," the disgraced former congressman said. "I hope to be able to live a life of integrity and service. I’m glad this chapter of my life is behind me."
Weiner, who will still be registered as a Level 1 sex offender, had called the halfway house on Creston Avenue home for three months following his transfer from a Massachusetts lockup as part of a federal re-entry program.
He walked out shortly after 6 a.m. wearing khaki pants, red Nike running shoes and a sweater. His release came early after getting three months shaved off for good behavior.
The Post revealed last month how he is now hoping to land a book deal.
After sinking his political career in a series of salacious sexting scandals with adult women, the married ex-pol was busted in 2017 for sending obscene messages to a 15-year-old North Carolina high schooler.

He's still married and they dont even mention his wife's name.

This pig (as far as I know) only texted (or, sexted) messages. He never touched any girl.
Staying married to Huma is quite convenient...if they were to divorce, then no more spousal confidentiality if things went down hill for either of them (laptop, for example).
[The Hill] Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) voted against one of President Trump’s judicial picks Tuesday over past controversial comments the judge made about former President Obama.
Romney, who faced off against Obama in the 2012 presidential race, cast the lone GOP no vote against Judge Michael Truncale, who was ultimately confirmed to the Eastern District of Texas by a 49-46 margin.
Truncale raised eyebrows in 2011 when he called Obama an "un-American imposter."
He later told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he was "merely expressing frustration by what I perceived as a lack of overt patriotism on behalf of President Obama," adding that he did not subscribe to "birtherism."
However, Romney found enough fault with the original remark to vote against Truncale’s nomination.
"He made particularly disparaging comments about President Obama. And as the Republican nominee for president, I just couldn't subscribe to that in a federal judge," Romney told Politico in a brief interview.
"This was not a matter of qualifications or politics. This was something specifically to that issue as a former nominee of our party," he added.
Romney has emerged as one of the few GOP critics of Trump, often hitting the president over his rhetoric. He most recently bucked the White House by opposing its plans to nominate Herman Cain to the Federal Reserve Board.
Though he votes in line with the president more often than not, he is more likely to oppose the White House than most other Republican senators, according to a tally compiled by FiveThirtyEight.

Romney is a liar. Herman Cain dissagreed with Romney on a topic during a debate once. Former Texas gov Rick Perry and Romney also disagreed on a topic during a discussion. If you dissagree with Romney on any thing, he resents that and is vindictive. He is a lot like Obama.

Took the role of opposition party so seriously he can't stop when his party is in power.
Not a fan of Obama's but at least his horrible Presidency made half the country wake up. An Romney Presidency would have lasted one term and just cemented in a permanent Democrat majority.

Romney is becoming more and more of an obvious scumbag. He could credibly be claimed to just be an idiot a decade ago; that is no longer the case. McCain, on the other hand, was always a scumbag. May he burn in hell for all eternity.
[Breitbart] On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s "Hardball," host Chris Matthews said that Attorney General William Barr is "out to destroy the government, the FBI, everything, in order to cover the tracks of the president."
Matthews said, "[I]t’s an embarrassment to have an attorney general who looks like a Roy Cohn, a guy who will do anything to defend the president, and now has become his hitman. Not only will he play defense, he’s out to destroy the government, the FBI, everything, in order to cover the tracks of the president."
He continued by asking Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX) how he can "stop Barr from doing what he’s out to do now, destroy the FBI?"

Sorry Chris Matthews, you are a day late and a few dollars short. The destruction was done in the last administration. We are in the clean-up and rebuilding phase now. Please stay on the page and keep up.

The FBI will survive and I suspect the bulk of the FBI, the non-appointees and non-politically promoted hacks, will continue doing what they do (and possibly smiling as those that politicized the bureau face the music.

The FBI's first great success was getting Capone on tax evasion charges (Oh, wait. The FBI didn't do that.) Their next big success was grabbing the UNIBOMber. (Oh, wait. His brother turned him in.) Well, there's always next time...

On the plus side, the FBI didn't miss the collapse of the Soviet Union or bomb the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia.
