[Breitbart] "It’s what makes us great. We need as many immigrants as we can. We need the skills, we need the talent, we need the culture. We need all of that." I've been assured by all the very best conservatives (including a few here at the 'Burg) that Nikki Haley is awesome cuz she made some tough speeches at the UN.
So confused right now...
Meanwhile Bent "I'm one of the good conservatives, not one of those icky right wing ones" Spergpiro is getting Niemohllered because he got a "platform" at the BBC.

Funny how she doesn't differentiate between legal & illegal immigrants. At this stage of the game, when you omit this very important difference, you're just another Journolist talking point.

Yeah. Whenever someone starts in on "the best thing since sliced bread" sales pitch, I point out I'm on a low carb diet and don't eat sh*t sammiches anyway...

When Nikki Haley quit or whatever, there was some interesting guesswork regarding the possibility of her being a Comey plant.
[DAWN] South Africa’s ruling ANC geared on Saturday for its sixth straight term in power in the post-apartheid era but its worst ever electoral showing could hamper efforts to revive the flagging economy and fight graft.
Provisional results, due to be confirmed later on Saturday, show that voters on Wednesday gave the ANC its smallest mandate since 1994, when Nelson Mandela led it to victory in the first multi-racial polls.
The party has been battling corruption scandals, sluggish economic growth and record unemployment ‐ all issues its new leader, President Cyril Ramaphosa has promised to tackle.
Businessman Ramaphosa, 66, took over last year when the ANC compelled then-president Jacob Zuma to resign after nine years dominated by graft allegations and economic decline.
Official results showed the African National Congress (ANC) holding a comfortable lead with 57.5 per cent ‐ a huge dip from almost 70 per cent in 2004 and 62 per cent in 2014. Its closest rival, the main opposition Democratic Alliance (DA), trailed at a distant 20.78 per cent.

ANC to lead South Africa govt with diminished majority capacity.
CARACAS (Reuters) - A Venezuelan general called on the country’s armed forces on Sunday to rise up against President Nicolas Maduro, who has relied on the backing of the military to hold on to power despite an economic collapse.
Ramon Rangel, who identified himself as an air force general, said the Venezuelan government is being controlled by the "communist dictatorship" in Cuba - a key Maduro ally.
"We have to find a way to get rid of the fear, to go out into the streets, to protest, and to seek a military union to change this political system," Rangel, dressed in a suit with a copy of the constitution in his hand, said in a video posted on YouTube. "It’s time to rise up."
While Rangel’s pronouncement marks another blow to Maduro after a handful of similar defections by senior officers this year, there is little to indicate that he will tip the scales.
Officers who have disavowed Maduro have fled the country and the military top brass - most notably those who command troops - continues to recognize Maduro.
The information ministry did not respond immediately to a request for comment. Reuters was also unable to obtain comment from Rangel.
[DAWN] KARACHI: Police have started the paperwork but haven't done much else against four suspects on the complaint of the mother of a rape victim after a medical report confirmed that her teenaged daughter was subjected to a sexual assault, it emerged on Saturday.
Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... police chief Dr Amir Ahmed Sheikh ordered an inquiry into a video statement of the mother of the rape victim that went viral on social media two days ago.
The Gulistan-e-Jauhar police booked a 60-year-old woman on the complaint of the girl’s mother as she accused her of being "responsible for the rape of her daughter".
On Friday night at around 11.30pm, the police brought the 15-year-old girl for a medical examination at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Medico-Legal Officer Dr Zakia Khurshid carried out her medical examination, which confirmed that she was subjected to a sexual assault, said Police Surgeon Qarar Ahmed Abbasi.
SSP East (Investigation) Dr Mohammad Farooq told Dawn that the woman claimed that her daughter was gang-raped around one week ago.
The police detained five persons for questioning, he said, adding that since the complainant claimed that two of the suspects were unknown, the police would hold an identification parade before the family.
According to the FIR, the complainant woman said that she was living in Gulistan-e-Jauhar along with her five children and her husband worked in Islamabad.
She stated that since the last few days, her daughter remained silent and was not telling any reason about it. Two days ago, the woman said another daughter told her that in her absence, four persons and one woman came to their flat. The woman had acid with her.
The complainant said that the four suspects subjected her daughter to gang-rape and threatened her to stay silent otherwise they would throw acid on her.
The police registered the FIR against the four men and the woman under Sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistain Penal Code (PPC).
DIG East Amir Farooqi said that the complainant had earlier lodged a case against one of the suspects under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the PPC on March 19.
The police had registered the case as she claimed at that time that she had relations with the suspect and he used to visit her apartment. Subsequently, the police presented charge sheet against the suspect in court.
Later, the woman had submitted an affidavit stating that on account of "some misunderstanding" she got the FIR registered against the suspect and asked the court to quash the case.
In the new FIR, the woman nominated a 60-year-old woman, who also lived in the same building.
The DIG said when the police contacted the elderly woman, she brought 25 other women of the same building to the cop shoppe stating that they were against the complainant and asked her to leave the place.
One of the suspects was an office-bearer of the apartment’s union.
SSP Farooq said that the union had asked the complainant woman to leave the flat on May 7. A few days ago, a huge fire broke out at a supermarket and some news hounds covering the fire incident recorded the woman’s statement which went viral on social media, he said.

[Deadline, via Drudge] - The reign of Empire on Fox is coming to an end next year.
Just two weeks after the Charlie Collier-run Fox Entertainment renewed Lee Daniels and Danny Strong’s hip hop drama for a sixth season and showed controversy ladened Jussie Smollett towards the exit door, it was announced today on Fox’s Upfront call that the self described "groundbreaking cultural phenomenon" of Empire will be canceled once Season 6 s done. I had no idea it was Season 6 coming up - I only heard of this show about a year ago.
Money shot:
Questioned about the possibility that the legally challenged Smollett could return for the final season, Collier dodged and replied with language reminiscent of last month’s press release. "There’s an option to have Jussie in the series but we have no plans for that," he said, noting that the writers’ room for Season 6 hasn’t even been opened yet.

Hey, I got this idea for a story arc where a 2-bit actor on a fading TV series fakes a hate crime to get national attention and revive his flaccid career. Have your people call my people.
they have been getting about 4 million viewers for each new episode
with Steve's plotline announced it would probably get 15 million (not up there with, say, the last episode of Seinfeld which had 75 million, but still good)

Never watched it.
Saw an ad with a superior black woman treating her house staff like a slave class (ala Mooselle). Didn't think there was much entertainment value.

There almost undoubtedly is an option; contracts in this business usually have "options" has a way to get somebody to come back without committing to use them ahead of time. Even if they are planning to use him again, they would never say so because if they change their mind, he could conceivably sue them for lying on the record and possibly convincing him to keep his schedule open (this would be true for anyone). In this case, not surprised it is ending. I am surprised it lasted for more than 3 episodes though. I saw an advertisement for season one at some point when it was first about to air and it looked like hot garbage then.
[Red State] In late April, controversy hit the sport of women’s powerlifting. A dude...I’m sorry, I mean a man who wants us to believe he’s a woman...who goes by the name of Mary Gregory basically rewrote the record books as he took nine medals and shattered existing records.
"Mary" has only been using drugs to emulate feminine characteristics for 11 months. Temporary insanity? *ducks*
Gregory is a construction worker, and said she lacks the insurance coverage for bottom surgery. Although she is a lesbian, she said she isn’t in any hurry to get it.

Another story from the Far Side. Bruce Jenner wanted to become Caitlyn. Then Caitlyn's former bodyguard Mark Behar wanted to become Bruce Jenner by a legal name change. The new Bruce Jenner was asked by Caitlyn if he planned to make money off the name change to which the new Jenner said: I don't plan on signing any cereal boxes anytime soon to which Caitlyn slammed down the phone.
I know, it's a silly, inane, confusing, follow-up story.

"Mary" has only been using drugs to emulate feminine characteristics for 11 months.
I wonder if the testers at the USADA or a similar relevant agency tested for any of these drugs? I've seen all sorts of pro cyclists bounced out of races over the years; makes you wonder if they bowed to the PC gods and didn't bother testing 'Mary'.
Actually, I don't - I think they looked the other way.

Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
