[Babylon Bee] PARIS‐Well, seems there was a bit of bad luck in the Notre Dame fire last week. While most of the relics, artwork, and idols were saved, one thing didn't survive: all the Catholic Church's meticulous records on its ongoing sex abuse scandals.
Pope Francis had reportedly just transferred the files to Notre Dame for safekeeping just days before the fire broke out.
"Oh well," Pope Francis said, shrugging. "How were we supposed to know it was going to burst into flames? We thought the Notre Dame cathedral would be the safest place for them."
The files were placed in the most flammable parts of the building hours before it caught fire, unfortunately. Several volunteers attempted to pull the files out of the fire, but Catholic Church officials sent them away, telling them not to risk their lives for them.
"It was a judgment call, but we care more about people's lives than the important work of bringing down sex offenders," one cardinal said. "Tough choice, but what are you gonna do."
At publishing time, the Pope had confirmed that all the files were also accidentally doused with lighter fluid just before the fire hit.
[The Hill] How would you like to spend two years and $30 million assembling a report that concludes you were not needed in the first place? Voilà: the Mueller report. Nice work if you can get it.
The report is appropriately thick, D.C. thick. It takes more than 400 pages to state the obvious: There was no collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians to swing the 2016 election. Zip. Nada. Nothing to see here.
It goes on to tee up a question about obstruction of justice that the special counsel was not asked to investigate ‐ and then doesn’t answer it. Wait. What?
These are some of the most elite prosecutors in the country, and they went full Hamlet on a legal determination a third-year law student would knock down between Budweisers. This is what we get for $30 million? Make a call; that’s your job as prosecutors.

So the Mueller--Weissmann report states no collusion. If there is no collusion and there was not a crime, how can there be obstruction of justice for a non-crime? Early on, Page and Strzok said in an email, "there's no there there? The Mueller counsel ought to be sued for white-collar corruption and fraud. We didn't need a 430 page report that was spread over more than two years.
There was not a mention of the elephant in the room in the pants suit.

Frank G, it’s Jay Cost , whoever that is, and he’s seen the light. Opening paragraph:
The release of the Mueller report this week was a revelatory moment for me. I realized that, some time ago apparently, I crossed a political Mendoza line, where I am now more disgusted by Donald Trump’s opponents than I am by Trump himself.

TW - Jay may be temporarily saved, especially after watching the scuppering of the USS Bill Kristol Weakly Standard Cruise Ship, but he will likely flip like a switch with a Dem Socialist Anti-Trump Candidacy. I remain cynical (as you know). I used to subscribe to NRO and am disgusted by their response to Trump

After reading the rest of it Inam sad to agree with you, Frank.
[Hot Air] Rep. Adam Schiff appeared on Fox News yesterday morning where he was asked about a recent report by the NY Times suggesting the Steele dossier may have become part of a Russian disinformation campaign. Specifically, the Times reported that Steele himself won’t rule out the possibility that Russia funneled information to him which then became part of the dossier and, from there, part of the years-long investigation into Russian collusion. As the Times pointed out last week, several of the most serious allegations, including that Trump had shared information with Russia over a period of eight years, were not found to have any support by Special Counsel Mueller. From the Daily Caller: The Intelligence Community knew the dossier was garbage, so they removed it from the National Intelligence Estimate and cleverly re-purposed it for political use.

Of course Schiff is not interested in a Russian disinformation campaign, particularly one targeted at the Orange Man. How could the Clinton's election loss be blamed on the Russians if they were actually targeting Donald Trump ?
Sort of answers the question about Obama reportedly doing little to thwart Russian election interference doesn't it? The narrative obviously needed room to breath.

In Mudville, a swing and a whiff
As Adam strikes out, with a sniff,
Then, on the defensive,
Winds up in intensive
When Don beats the sh-t outta Schiff.
[Islamist Watch] Mere days after the United States Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO, an Islamist umbrella coalition), descended upon Capitol Hill for National Muslim Advocacy Day, one of USCMO's founding groups, the virulently anti-Semitic American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), returned to lobby Congress yet again. AMP and its partner organization, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), claim to be motivated by universal human rights, but the truth is more alarming; as a recent court case has made clear, AMP is the direct successor organization to the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was sued into oblivion for being a propaganda front for the terrorist group Hamas.
While the USCMO lobby day focused on domestic issues of concern to Islamists, AMP's fifth annual Palestine Advocacy Day focused on eroding American relations with Israel ‐ complete with two days of training, and presentations from Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Arizona state representative Athena Salman ‐ and an entire day of Hamas-connected activists holding meetings with members of Congress.
Ms. Salman is a relatively new addition to the AMP scene. She was first elected to the Arizona legislature in 2016 and is already serving as minority whip. Salman is an avowed atheist, but her father is Palestinian and Salman publicly defended the movement to Boycott, Divest and Sanction the state of Israel (BDS) during a contentious debate on an anti-BDS bill in the Arizona legislature in early April. (She had voted against the earlier version of the bill as well in 2016, which earned her the endorsement of the Arizona State chapter of SJP.)
Participants in the event seem to be more extreme. One example of excellence is Joe Catron ‐ a blogger at the viciously anti-Semitic site Electronic Intifada ‐ who calls himself a "reluctant citizen of the American empire." Catron maintains a Twitter account emblazoned with images glorifying terrorists from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP), such as a map of Israel inside crosshairs, with an Arabic caption that reads, "Hell awaits you."
Unfortunately, Mr. Catron fits right in with AMP. As has been established in court and in Congressional testimony, AMP's board is composed of alumni from not only the Hamas front IAP, but also the terror-finance charities KindHearts for Charitable Development (shut down by the Federal government) and the Holy Land Foundation (its executives convicted in court), both of which laundered donations to Hamas.
I am just going to say this once, because it no longer matters... At the beginning SpaceX wanted to land their capsule on the ground with rockets. NASA threw a hissy fit and insisted it land on sea. When they used 3 parachutes to land at sea NASA's giggly men insisted on 4. Each change with a redesign period with a dunking in salt water that rots everything. NASA is letting Boeing Land on Land (although it is desert land) on a bunch of air bags. But, no SpaceX must drown in the ocean. Why do you think the Starship will land on a surface and has no escape systems? Maybe SpaceX got fed up with NASA and regulations? This capsule blew up after a dunking in the ocean. Something that would have never happened without the NASA insistence that they land and wallow in the salt water. Then if they could relaunch. Nuf said...
