[Washington Examiner] Keith Ellison on Thursday officially stepped down from his role as the Democratic National Committee's second-in-command. Ellison was elected Minnesota attorney general in Tuesday's midterm elections, despite ongoing controversy over allegations of abuse by his former girlfriend.
"Keith's decision means Minnesotans will have a full-time champion fighting for affordable health care, a fair economy, and opportunity for all," DNC chair Tom Perez wrote in an email advising supporters he had accepted Ellison's resignation. "His tireless service as deputy chair enabled us to make substantial progress in rebuilding our party and rebuilding trust with our grassroots."
High School Students: We’ve extended the deadlines until Nov. 15 for two outstanding opportunities: our High School Work Study Program (at multiple NSA locations) and the Stokes Scholarship for seniors. Don’t miss out!http://t.co/xyJodISJkVpic.twitter.com/FD2wFeLO5F
The link in the tweet is being reworked, but more information is available here. It looks like a typical work-study program for local students, where the kids take their regular classes in the morning and work at the NSA in various capacities in the afternoon during their senior year, then work full time during the summer. According to the web page, the program is over three decades old, suggesting that the selected participants are indeed mature enough. Mr. Wife did something similar in medical research when he was in high school and college, though he started in the summer before his junior year... and did not need a security clearance. See here for details.
[Daily Caller] Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Thursday that several individuals were arrested in the Lone Star state for allegedly orchestrating an illegal voting scheme in the city of Edinburg in the Rio Grande Valley.
The attorney general’s Election Fraud Unit arrested nine people following an ongoing probe into "a coordinated effort by political workers to recruit people who agree to fraudulently claim residential addresses so they could vote in specific city of Edinburg municipal races," according to a statement from Paxton’s office.
"Illegal voting, particularly an organized illegal voting scheme orchestrated by political operatives, is an affront to democracy and results in corruption at the highest level," said Paxton. "Each illegal vote silences the voice of a law-abiding registered voter." (RELATED: Texas Stays Mostly Red As Republicans Win Majority Of Closely Watched House Races)
Paxton identified the nine individuals as Guadalupe Sanchez Garza, Araceli Gutierrez, Brenda Rodriguez, Rosendo Rodriguez, Cynthia Tamez, Ruby Tamez, Belinda Rodriguez, Felisha Yolanda Rodriguez and Jerry Gonzalez, Jr. He also asserted that more arrests are expected in the future and urged anyone with further information to come forward.
"My office will continue to do everything in its power to uncover illegal voting schemes and bring to justice those who try to manipulate the outcome of elections in Texas," he continued.
[PRESSTV] Following the US midterm congressional elections, President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... is morphing into a Mussolini-style autocrat is becoming fixed, according to Myles Hoenig.
The American political analyst and activist said that Trump’s "bluster, megalomania, and racism has come fully to the fore and we’re in very difficult and frightening times heading into the new Congress."
Hoenig, a former Green Party candidate for Congress, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday after Americans voted in the 2018 midterm elections that marked the first major voter test of Trump's presidency.
Trump on Wednesday hailed "tremendous success" in the mid-term elections despite losing the House of Representatives to the Democrats in the November 6 vote. The Republicans, however, consolidated their grip on the Senate.

Trump is exactly like Mussolini, except for the invading Ethiopia and Somalia (or any other nations) and instead is trying to get the military out of other areas and to keep other citizens from just slipping into the nation he runs. Also he doesn't wear uniforms or hiring paramilitary thugs to silence his enemies. Besides those quibbles he's exactly like Mussolini, I white man in charge of a nation.

The previous President, what was his name again?, had that "Mussolini look" mastered... Trump, just looks like a businessman in an expensive, but rumpled, business suit.
