Al-Aidoudi had been taken into custody in Tunisia on July 13, upon his arrival in the country after being expelled by Germany.
He was detained in Tunisia on suspicion of involvement in terrorist acts, taking part in training in Afghanistan and being a former bodyguard to bin Laden, anti-terror authorities said.
But "after 15 days of preventative detention, Sami al-Aidoudi has been investigated by the anti-terrorist branch who have found no proof of his implication in terrorist affairs", al-Sulaiti said.
The front man added that al-Aidoudi remains under investigation by anti-terrorist authorities and that they have retained his passport.
Before his expulsion to Tunisia, al-Aidoudi had lived in Germany for more than two decades, staying in the country despite his asylum request being denied in 2007 as courts repeatedly cited the danger of torture in Tunisia.
His expulsion from Germany on July 13 was overturned by a court ruling the same day, but the order was made only after his plane was already airborne.
The German court added that authorities "knowingly" defied the order by completing the transfer to Tunisian security forces.
Considered a security threat over his suspected ties to bad boy groups, al-Aidoudi - identified by German authorities only as Sami A. - for years had to report to police but was never charged with an offence.
He has always denied being the former bodyguard of late al-Qaeda leader Bin Laden, the criminal mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks on the United States.
Whatever happened to the German wife he acquired while living all those years on the German dole, and the four children he got on her?

The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... leaders in the al-Malahiz Front in Saada.
Those killed are the leader of the Houthi Abdo Jubran Ali Ghalis, the leader Mohammed Abdullah al-Hazeq, Abed Mohammed Shubla, Mohammed Qasim al-Shami, Abdul Majid Abdullah Alwani and the leader Dale Hussein Khammash.
Major General Abdulkarim al-Sudai, commander of the Arab Army's Arabism Brigade, told al-Arabiya that troops had carried out several military operations on Houthi positions in the al-Malahiz front in Saada since the beginning of last week, "continuing the process of cutting off the head of the snake."
Al-Sudai said that his forces managed to kill hundreds of Houthi elements in the same front and destroy dozens of military equipment and vehicles with the support of the coalition.

Sources told Al Arabiya news channel that the intensive raids on the Hothi militia positions in Hodeidah could be the beginning of the port battle that has been underway for some time.
The Yemeni national army and the resistance, with the support of the coalition, decided to stop progress towards Hodeidah to give the United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... a chance to resolve the issue of the Houthi control of the port and the city.
Permits for vessels
In addition, the alliance announced the issuance of four entry permits for vessels destined for Yemeni ports carrying essential materials and oil derivatives, including two ships to Hodeidah and two ships to al-Saleef port.
The coalition sources said that five ships were docked at the port of Hodeidah and seven ships were waiting to enter the port.
They added that the Houthi militias in Hodeidah had deliberately disrupted the entry and unloading cargoes of three other vessels.

Speaking to Almaalomah website, the source from the mobilization forces of Anbar said "army jets targeted a hideout of Islamic State in al-Dabaa region, south of Rutba in west Anbar, leaving two prominent leaders killed."
Security troops, according to the source, "managed to besiege the targeted region and arrest of the leaders who was injured."

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Thousands of people erupted into the streets of Baghdad and cities across southern Iraq on Friday in the latest protests against corruption, social ills and politicianship.
Surrounded by a cordon of anti-riot personnel equipped with electric batons, protestors in Baghdad’s Tahrir Square accused leaders of being "thieves" and "corrupt", AFP journalists said.
Several hundred people shouted "No to corruption!" and "Iran out!".
Fourteen people have been killed in nearly three weeks of unrest as demonstrators have railed against power shortages, unemployment, a lack of clean water and state mismanagement.
Adding to tensions, the country still awaits the results of a partial recount of May 12 elections, while political factions jostle to cobble together a coalition under the watchful eyes of regional powers including Tehran.
In oil-rich Basra, the southern port city where the protests began on July 8, several thousand demonstrated in front of the governorate.
"We live in catastrophic conditions -- we need food and water," said 33-year-old history graduate and labourer Hassan Hantuch, one of the protestors.
"No to corruption, yes to change!" proclaimed banners held up by protestors in Nasiriyah, southern Iraq, an AFP correspondent said.
Protests also took place Friday in Najaf and Maysan provinces, south of Baghdad.
A front man for Iraq’s highest Shiite authority Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani called at midday on the outgoing government to meet protestors’ demands.
He also called for the formation of a new government "as soon as possible with effective, competent and transparent people".

[IsraelTimes] Kobar resident, 17-year-old Mohammed Yusef stabbed to death 31-year-old Yotam Ovadia and maimed two others, before he was rubbed out.
IDF soldiers early Saturday reportedly raided the West Bank village of Kobar, home of the 17-year-old terrorist who carried out a deadly stabbing attack in a Israeli settlement.
Paleostinian media said troops had gone into the village before dawn for a second time in a row, but gave no details on the soldiers activities. The IDF had no immediate comment.
WORK PERMITS SUSPENDED
On Friday the army said it had raided the village, questioned a number of his family members and suspended their work permits.
During the raid on Friday morning, festivities broke out between young Paleostinians and soldiers firing tear gas.
"The rioters hurled large rocks and Molotov cocktails and rolled burning tires at (Israeli) troops, who responded with riot dispersal means," an army statement said.
The festivities were over by mid-morning Friday, an AFP photographer said, though the army had established a checkpoint at the edge of the village.
Later in the day, in a rare move, the mayor of Kobar condemned the acts of 17-year-old resident Mohammed Yusef. On Thursday evening Yusef stabbed three residents of the Adam settlement, killing 31-year-old Yotam Ovadia and wounding two others, before he was rubbed out.
Ezzat Badwan, the mayor of Kobar near Ramallah, where Yusef lived with his family, said: "I believe that these operations are not correct nor humane. I will never support killing civilians. It is unacceptable and against international, religious and human customs."
He also urged the IDF not to demolish Yusef’s home, as is common practice by Israel in response to attacks.
"His parents and siblings had nothing to do with what he did. They do not deserve to pay the price for the actions of one of their family members," he said. He added that the family was relatively poor and would likely struggle to find funds to rebuild its home if it is demolished.
Early Friday morning the IDF took measurements of the Yusef family’s home, a military spokeswoman said.
The army generally carries out measurements of homes in advance of demolishing them, she said, without clarifying if a decision had been made to knock down the family’s residence.
Local groups or factions sometimes collect funds to assist Paleostinian families whose homes were demolished, to help them rebuild.
According to Jeff Halper, the head of the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions, however, this is a rare occurrence, and most families are left to fend for themselves.
Badwan added that he was surprised to learn that Yusef had carried out the stabbing attack.
"I would often see him walking around Kobar," he said. "I would say hello to him and he would be too shy to respond. It is hard to understand how someone so shy would do what he did."
Kobar was also the hometown of Omar al-Abed, the terrorist who in July 2017 murdered three Israelis during a home invasion and stabbing attack in the settlement of Halamish. Abed was shot during the attack and placed in durance vile Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! . His family’s home was razed in the aftermath.
Israeli authorities are looking into a possible connection between the two terrorists.

Two Paleostinians were rubbed out Friday as thousands participated in violent protests at the Gazoo-Israel border, the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",-run health ministry in Gazoo said in a statement.
The ministry said the dear departed were a 43-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy. It named the adult as Ghazi Abu Mustafa, and said he was shot in the head near the border fence, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gazoo Strip.
The IDF said around 7,000 Paleostinians participated in violent riots in several locations along the border. Protesters hurled rocks and burned tires, and attacked troops with pipe bombs, a Molotov cocktail and a grenade ‐ all of which did not manage to clear the fence and fell in Gazook territory.In another incident the army said troops identified several suspects approach the fence, sabotage it and move back.
The military said soldiers responded with less-lethal means as well as live fire in certain instances.
Eyewitness Hassan Najjar told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named he witnessed the shooting of Abu Mustafa. He claimed soldiers shot at a group of Paleostinians who rushed to the border and a bullet hit the man, who was sitting about 250 meters away.
The Gazoo health ministry reported that over 40 Paleostinians were maimed during the weekly festivities.
Earlier the Israeli military carried out an Arclight airstrike on a squad of Paleostinians in northern Gazoo as they flew incendiary balloons towards Israel, the army said. Paleostinians said there were no casualties in the attack.
The military has also bolstered troop presence in the West Bank after a Paleostinian assailant sneaked into a West Bank settlement and stabbed three people Thursday, killing one.
An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson said late Thursday it was sending two more brigades to the West Bank following the deadly terrorist attack in Adam. The move comes as Israel has also raised its military alert level in the Golan amid flare-ups there.

Police forces entered the al-Aqsa Mosque during festivities with Moslem worshipers Friday afternoon that led to an hours-long closure of the Jerusalem holy site.
The decision to forcibly expel Paleostinians from the mosque was ordered by Jerusalem police commander Yoram Halevi, police said, and came after dozens of people barricaded themselves in the house of worship.
The al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam and sits atop the Temple Mount, the most sacred place in Judaism and revered as the home of the ancient Jewish Temples.
Shortly after police announced officers had entered the mosque, the AFP news agency reported the gates to the Temple Mount had been reopened, some four hours after police first shuttered the site.
The compound was reopened, with worshipers flooding in to pray, an AFP photographer said.
The closure of the Temple Mount and decision to clear out worshipers came after police said they were attacked with fireworks and stones following Friday afternoon prayers.
Police jugged Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! 24 suspects during the festivities, 16 of whom had barricaded themselves in the mosque, and said further arrests were expected. Additionally, four officers received medical treatment after being injured in the riots.
"The police intend to act with a strong and uncompromising hand against the suspects who were arrested and others involved," a police spokesperson said in a statement.
The Waqf, the religious authority that governs the site, published videos showing police firing tear gas at Paleostinians inside the mosque compound.
Jordan, which is recognized as the custodian of religious sites in Jerusalem, criticized the Israeli measures.
In a statement, a government front man condemned the "ongoing violations and provocations against the holy al-Aqsa mosque, especially the Israeli police storming the mosque today and its aggression against the worshipers."
Ahmed Tibi, an Arab member of the Knesset, accused Israeli officials of overreacting.
After the fireworks were thrown, he told AFP at the site, "it was calm, why did they close the gates? There is nothing justifying closing them."
Paleostinians said the events began with a parade at the site known to Moslems as the Haram al-Sharif, to mark the anniversary of Israel removing metal detectors that were temporarily placed at the entrance to the holy site following a terror attack there.
Ir Amim, a left-wing Israeli group, on Friday blamed the new riots on an increase in the number of Jews visiting the site and on calls to allow Jews to pray there.
Three weeks ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lifted a three-year ban on politicians entering the flashpoint holy site and on Sunday a record number of Jews were reported to visit the Temple Mount to mark the Tisha B’Av fast mourning the destruction of the biblical temples.
