[VTDIGGER.ORG] The federal probe into a 2010 land deal orchestrated by former Burlington College president Jane Sanders, wife of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders ...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated by Hillary, then went back to being a socialist... , I-Vt., has deepened. VTDigger has confirmed that a grand jury has compelled sworn witness testimony in the case.
The Vermont U.S. Attorney’s office has interviewed at least one witness before the grand jury to determine whether indictments should be handed down.
Former Burlington College board member Robin Lloyd says she testified for about an hour on Oct. 26 before a grand jury at the federal courthouse in Burlington.
Paul Van de Graaf, chief of the criminal division for the U.S. attorney’s office in Vermont, questioned Lloyd about her role as the development chair of the college’s board of trustees during a period when Sanders was collecting donations and pledges for the purchase of a $10 million city lakefront property.
Lloyd, who is publisher of the progressive website Toward Freedom, kept copious board meeting minutes as the development chair for the college. In the interview with Van de Graaf, Lloyd said he "was focused on what I knew about who had been approached for contributions."
"I helped provide a timeline of what happened ‐ and when ‐ in terms of development," Lloyd said. "It was general questions about donors, and money coming in."
Jane and Bernie Sanders have vehemently denied any impropriety surrounding the land deal.
Jeff Weaver, a front man for the Sanders and former campaign manager, told Seven Days Sunday night, "We have absolutely no reason to believe that there is a grand jury empaneled to examine Burlington College, Jane Sanders, or any aspect of Dr. Sanders’ service as president of Burlington College. As best we can tell, the current news reports are simply recycling an account of a government interview of a witness from several months ago. Nothing new here."
Lloyd’s appearance is the first public confirmation that the federal government has compelled a grand jury.

[FOXNEWS] A Democrat-backed study meant to expose illicit online gun sales instead seemed to show the opposite -- with hardly any sellers taking the bait when undercover Sherlocks tried to set up dozens of illegal firearm transactions.
Rep. Elijah Cummings ...Representative-for-life from Maryland, representing half of Baltimore City, which makes his district ultra-safe, and most of Howard County, which is out-populated by the city. Cummings' politix are so liberal they're tedious... , D-Md., as well as Sens. Elizabeth Fauxchahontas Warren ...Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts, who traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that... , D-Mass., and Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, had commissioned the Government Accountability Office report to look into how online private dealers might be selling guns to people not allowed to have them.
Their efforts were based on a 2016 report from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which claimed that "anonymity of the internet makes it an ideal means for prohibited individuals to obtain illegal firearms."
"Congressional requesters asked that GAO access the extent to which ATF is enforcing existing laws and investigate whether online private sellers sell firearms to be people who are not allowed or eligible to possess a firearm," the GAO report said.
Over the course of the two-and-a-half year investigation, agents tried to buy firearms illegally on the "Surface Web" and the "Dark Web," generally by sharing their status as "prohibited individuals" or trying to buy across state lines.
But the GAO revealed that their 72 attempts outside of the dark web were all "unsuccessful."
"Private sellers on Surface Web gun forums and in classified ads were unwilling to sell a firearm to our agents that self-identified as being prohibited from possessing a firearm," the GAO reported, noting that in their "72 attempts ... 56 sellers refused to complete a transaction once we revealed that either the shipping address was across state lines or that we were prohibited by law from owning firearms." In the other cases, the Sherlocks' website was frozen or they encountered suspected scammers.

It's nice to see that FBI is busy with important things.
[Gateway Pundit] A Twitter user by the name of Andrea Hudson tweeted to President Trump Saturday that she has $20,000 for any one will to assassinate him.
#2
Yes. The Secret Service will not be in a mood to accept "I was just joking". Prison time is in this person's future.
Threatening the President of the United States is a felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. It consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States"
#3
Imagine if you will, the consequences of a tweet like this aimed at a President Soetoro. Flghts would have been cancelled, schools closed, and entire neighborhoods quarantined.
[Gateway Pundit] Anti-capitalist militia group Guerrilla Mainframe released a statement stating that one of their organizers, a man named Rakem Balogun, was taken into custody after a raid by FBI and ATF agents on December 11, 2017.
Balogun, according to the statement issued by Guerrilla Mainframe, held leadership roles in various far-left organizations and militia units, including Geronimo Tactical, Huey P. Newton Gun Club, and of course, Guerrilla Mainframe.
Part of the group’s statement reads:
The F.B.I. report detailing the perceived BIE threat specifically discusses the shooting of Dallas police officers in July 2016. The document was prepared by the F.B.I Domestic Terrorism Analysis Unit, and has shown an effort to "criminalize" political organizers with progressive and revolutionary ethics. The Trump administration and prior Presidents have made their desire to derail black revolutionaries through declarations and actions crystal clear. Our struggle as change agents is to instruct and liberate the masses with revolutionary discourse, and we will continue to do so.
Far Left Watch did some digging on the various groups that Balogun is associated with. Geronimo Tactical did not have a website, but the group does have a Facebook page with around 800 members. It’s a closed group, but they do have a public statement:
[Daily Caller] Embattled former Democratic Gov. Eliot Spitzer allegedly threatened to stab a man in the genitals for praising his longtime enemy, philanthropist Kenneth Langone, while dining at an upscale Manhattan restaurant.
Jamie Antolini claims he was innocently dining with business partners at Avra Madison Estiatorio when Spitzer, who resigned from office amid a high dollar prostitution scandal, began harassing and threatening him.
“Spitzer lost his mind,” Antolini told the Daily News of the Jan. 2 incident.
“I’m going to fucking stab you with a fucking knife in the cock,” the 48-year-old Antolini recalled Spitzer saying. Spitzer was at the restaurant to celebrate his mother’s 90th birthday.
Antolini, who claims he never saw a knife and did not file a police report, said Spitzer was walking by and overheard him praising Langone as an “amazing guy.”
“All I said was, ‘Ken Langone would have been the best President ever,'” Antolini recalled.

I've been reading Rantburg posts for a long time. There have been many postings about the behaviors of the left/Dems. If I look up "crazy" in the dictionary, I'm thinking I will see the pictures of many of these people who are the epitome of crazy and define bonkers.
[FOXNEWS] The FBI is investigating people inspired by "kind of an Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... ideology," bureau Director Christopher Wray said Thursday.
Wray told members of the House Homeland Security Committee that people associated with the so-called anti-fascist ...anybody not a leftist... or Antifa movement were subject to the FBI probe amid possible violent criminal activity.
"While we're not investigating Antifa as Antifa ‐ that's an ideology and we don't investigate ideologies ‐ we are investigating a number of what we would call anarchist-extremist investigations, where we have properly predicated subjects of people who are motivated to commit violent criminal activity on kind of an Antifa ideology," he told the House panel.
Wray said the FBI was investigating about 1,000 domestic terror cases and all were based on threats rather than "ideology, opinion or rhetoric." He added that out of about 1,000 open domestic terror investigations, all are focused on actual physical threats.
Coordinated violence
Antifa has gained prominence since last year following the violent festivities across the U.S. on university campuses and other gatherings. The loosely connected left-wing group of Antifa supporters has been criticized for using coordinated violence against people they deem to be espousing far-right ideology.
Federal agencies reportedly warned in 2016 about the possible outbreak of violent festivities or "domestic terrorist violence" perpetrated by the anarchists.
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security said that "anarchist myrmidons" and Antifa groups were the leading instigators of violence in public spaces, where they attack police, government and political institutions, racists, fascists and "symbols of capitalism," Fox News reported.

Thanks to Whom? Our Bloggers?
This was cooking twenty years ago in Germany and you could not smell it with code pink and BLM? Just now?
Some sleuthy work there.
Some soros stink all over Our Republic.
I really wish you were as good as the bloggers at sniffing this out.
They provide sources you know. Not hard for a 19 year old kid to find all this evidence and yet you struggle to open an investigation.
Do you mind if I ask what the hell is going on over there?
I have enough evidence to .... nevermind. You figure it out and that whole democrat party.
Let me know when you know what you are looking at so I can tell you the next step.

I suggest that withholding exculpatory evidence should carry a more severe penalty than a sympathy card from the local barf association wishing the prosecutor better luck next time.
Thing is, you don't withhold exculpatory evidence unless you know that, if it comes out, you don't have a case. So, you know you don't have a case, but you're still trying to put the guy in jail. Shouldn't that be a major crime?

With prejudice means this case is deep-sixed forever and that it pissed off the judge as well. This was Obama's fundemental transformation to criminalize the government against its citizens--Vast government over-reach. One of the many reasons citizens elected Trump instead of Hillary. She scared the bejeesus out of voters. As Besoeker said, voters remember Waco, Ruby Ridge, and Oklahoma City. They did't want more of the same.

Regarding snow in the Sahara desert... With the fall of ISIS, good economic news in the US, Iran facing uprising, clearly hell has been freezing over lately.
[Hot Air] A fun leftover from this Friday profile of Romney’s sureshot Senate campaign in Utah. News broke this afternoon that he was treated successfully for prostate cancer this past year, a personal detail that doubtless would have remained private unless he was about to reenter public life and wanted any information that might give voters pause disclosed early, before his next campaign begins in earnest.
"There’s got to be somebody who can stand up to the president," Romney told members of the Utah congressional delegation in recent weeks, according to a person with knowledge of his comments. "Who’s going to stand up to Trump?"...
"I’ve been told that Romney has said he wants to be a McCain-like figure in the Senate," says Dave Owen, a longtime Utah Republican strategist who doesn’t count himself a Romney supporter.
It’s hard to think of a phrase about Republicans that would make grassroots righties shudder more than "McCain-like figure." But don’t get too excited: He’s not really going "full anti-Trump." Especially not during the campaign itself.
BLUF:
[Hot Air] After a non-apology from the airline and an offer of a voucher in exchange for her troubles, Simon was still not satisfied with the treatment she had received. And now, according to her Twitter feed, she’s asked the Congressional Ethics Committee to look into the matter.
As Simon indicates, it’s uncertain if the committee will even take up the question, but it might be worth a look. If Jackson Lee actually did ask to bump someone and cooperated with United to take Simon’s seat, that’s probably not a criminal offense, but it certainly sounds unethical. But even if the version of the story being told by United is true, there are still questions to be raised. Did the Congresswoman originally book a coach flight and then pay for an upgrade or was it a courtesy move on the part of the airline? If the latter, that constitutes a "gift" with significant cash value. And if it was paid for, then the taxpayers shelled out a considerable amount of dough for Jackson Lee to have the best seat on the plane. Was that recorded in her expense report?
#1
Congress will do nothing with this, less than nothing actually. The plaintiff (herself an attorney) should seek a legal remedy by filing a suite against both the despicable Lee and the airline.
#2
She's on the transportation committee, of course she's going to get the seat you ninny. It's all about power. The problem for the airline is that today the average citizen has been empowered by the internet to do similar damage.
#3
Hot Air is sure earning its name with this article. I do not like Jackson-Lee at all but I don't see a seat upgrade to have 'significant cash value' or to be a 'considerable amount of dough'. Overstating things just a wee bit too much, methinks.

A voucher for another flight on United Airlines would not do much to satisfy me either. That'd only mean I'd have to endure several more hours of misery on another one of their cramped, overbooked airplanes.

[BigLeaguePolitics] A congressional hopeful from California told Big League Politics that he is optimistic about his groundswell of support as he looks to unseat a longtime congresswoman in November.
"Every day I grow more confident," said Omar Navarro, a 28-year-old political outsider from Inglewood.
Navarro is running against Rep. Maxine M. Waters (D.-Calif.) in California’s 43rd congressional district. Waters has been a congresswoman since 1991.
The candidate, who has a large social media presence, said that President Donald J. Trump was his inspiration for running. He feels like an underdog, similar to Trump.
"If Trump can do it, I can do it," Navarro said.
"Not only did Maxine Waters acknowledge my candidacy a whole year before the election, she called for my investigation in December, which shows that she feels threatened by me," said Navarro.
Navarro said that Waters called for a forgery investigation into a document that he shared on Twitter, which he says he did not write, but only shared.
While recognizing that Waters has something of an advantage being so well-established, Navarro said that his campaign has raised $200,000, and has a growing group of volunteers and supporters.
He is facing three primary opponents, all of whom have declared candidacy with less than $10,000 to spend.
The Rebuilding America Now PAC, which was instrumental in the 2016 Trump campaign, has also pledged its support for Navarro.
"When you run for Congress, you are not just representing your district, you are representing all Americans," he said.
Navarro said that his opponent is unhinged and that her policies are not beneficial to the public at large.
On that note, Navarro said that he is wary of giving citizenship to all of the estimated 800,000 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, which Congress is expected to decide on as part of the budget deal before the Jan. 19 deadline.
His opponent has publicly stated her support citizenship of all DACA recipients.
Navarro said that he is not in favor of mass deportation of DACA recipients, but rather considering them individually for citizenship based on how they have assimilated into American society, and after they have gone through the immigration process as legal immigrants would.
"We are not going to give them the right to vote after coming here through illegal means and not learning what it means to be an American."
Watch Omar Navarro talk about his run for Congress here: Heh...

[Twitchy] Yale assistant professor of psychiatry Bandy X. Lee made a huge splash in the media last week after meeting with a handful of Democrats in Congress to sound the alarm over the president’s mental fitness to serve.
Lee has appeared on MSNBC and SiriusXM, and pieces about her appeared in Vox, Politico, and The Guardian, all of which she retweeted, having just joined Twitter "to inform people where they may have questions."
Lee tweeted over the weekend that she was demanding a correction to a "wildly speculative and inaccurate article" in The Weekly Standard questioning her "meeting" with a Republican senator, but that tweet has disappeared, along with her entire Twitter account. The whole thing’s been shut down. Turns out her "expert opinion" is not universally held in high esteem, at least per the comments.
[ConservativeDailyPress] While the liberal media peddles falsehoods that President Donald Trump is mentally unfit for office, a new report shows that former President Bill Clinton’s shady habits put our nation at risk.
With North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un threatening to launch nuclear warheads at the U.S. ‐ to which Trump has vowed to defend America and its allies at all costs ‐ it is vital to control the United States’ 6,800 nuclear warheads.
In a new book from by Gen. Hugh Shelton, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for three years while Clinton was in office, Clinton reportedly lost the nuclear launch codes required to authorize a nuclear strike, leaving the U.S. vulnerable to an attack. Continues at link. Fx to begin filming mini-series regarding in 3...2...1...never.

4-Star claims WJC lost the launch codes because of shady habits (I read this as 'while chasing skirts?'). Slick Willy also, by his own words said he could have killed Osama Bin Ladin in 1998 but chose not to due to collateral damage despite earlier embassy bombings. "Clinton was speaking to Kroger and about 30 other businessmen in Melbourne for a paid gig on September 10, 2001, when he was asked about international terrorism." Perhaps 911 would not have occurred had he opted differently. Bill Clinton: "I could have killed" Osama bin Laden. I wonder how much Clinton received for the paid gig?
Both Clinton and Obama were never questioned by the MSM about their fitness to serve as POTUS. They were never questioned about who they were serving.
[DailyCaller] A Justice Department official who was demoted last month after he was found to have links to the Trump dossier has left a second high-level position at the agency, The Daily Caller has confirmed.
At the beginning of last month, Bruce Ohr held two positions at DOJ: associate deputy attorney general and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF).
Fox News first reported on Monday that Ohr will no longer lead OCDETF. A Justice Department spokeswoman confirmed Ohr’s separation from that division but did not say whether Ohr resigned or was removed from the position. H.R. running a little over budget lately?
Ohr’s job as associate deputy attorney general put him just a few office doors down from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential campaign.
But Ohr was removed from that position early last month after it was revealed that in 2016, he met separately with Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier, and with Glenn Simpson, the founder of the opposition research firm that commissioned the salacious document.
Fox News first reported that Ohr met before the election with Steele, a former MI6 agent. He met just after the election with Simpson, who operates Fusion GPS. Ohr’s wife, a former CIA employee and Russia expert named Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS to investigate Trump during the campaign.
Simpson, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, told the House Intelligence Committee in November that he had met with Ohr.
Fox News has reported that the Justice Department was not aware of Ohr’s links to Fusion GPS and the dossier.
Ohr is slated to meet with the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, agreed last week to make Ohr and several other DOJ and FBI officials available for interviews with the House panel. Via Weasel Zippers who commented "Obviously, they found more improper stuff. Wait till the IG’s report comes out, it’s going to be interesting!"

[STARTRIBUNE] A prominent donor to the Democratic Party says she is considering withdrawing support for senators who urged their colleague Al Franken to resign after he was accused of sexual misconduct.

Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Elizabeth Fauxchahontas Warren ...Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts, who traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that... of Massachusetts and Maria Cantwell of Washington.
Last month, those senators were among the dozens who called for Franken to resign from the Senate after at least six women accused him of sexual harassment or misconduct, such as forcible kissing and groping.
Franken announced his resignation on Dec. 7 before the Senate Ethics Committee had completed a review of the accusations, which he disputed.
Before he was elected to the Senate to represent Minnesota in 2008, Franken was a well-known comedian and a cast member on "Saturday Night Live." After he resigned, Lt. Gov. Tina Smith of Minnesota was named as his replacement.
Buell said in a text message on Saturday that withdrawing support from the senators who called for his resignation was "an option" she was considering.
"In my gut they moved too fast," she wrote. Franken "was never given his chance to tell his side of the story."

There were not many audience shots. The game was too exciting to look around.
At the rate Oprah’s cable network is losing market share and viewers in the the key 18-49 demographic, it doesn’t seem likely she will be able to find many voters when the time comes. But let her run — the money pumped into the economy from her checkbook and others can only benefit the rest of us as it circulates.
[FoxNews] American Urban Radio Networks correspondent April Ryan was slammed on Monday for a tweet praising how wonderful a president Oprah Winfrey would make if she decided to challenge President Trump in 2020.
"If @Oprah ran for president in 2020, she is every person. She has been poor & now rich. She is also a self made Billionaire. She has a grasp of the issues as she used to cover local politics. She can articulate any issue and she has mass appeal beyond race & gender," Ryan tweeted.
The comments beneath Ryan’s tweet indicate that not everyone agrees with Ryan, who is also a CNN correspondent. One user asked, "In 2018 is it really too much to expect that POTUS have some minimum experience in law, governing, and/or policy making?"
It appears President Trump has the left feeling that people should have some political experience before occupying the White House. Winfrey, 63, won’t have a ton of time to pick up any political experience before it’s time to start campaigning for the 2020 election and many of Ryan’s followers feel that would essentially rule her out.
Some claimed the Democrats have a "deep bench," while one user simply wrote, "She's a celebrity. No. Thanks."
"I'd like to see her run for Congressperson, Senator, or Governor and get some governing experience under her belt," another commented, and another added, "Stop. This is patently ridiculous and you should know better. Shame on you."
Others were nicer about it, but most responses had the same theme: "Do we really need another charismatic figure without legislative knowledge? Really?"
"April, I love Oprah, and everything you said is true but what the US needs is someone with governing experience. Celebrities are good for bringing light to issues and Oprah is an amazing fundraiser and surrogate but she has as much federal political experience as Trump," another follower wrote. The twitter comments indicate Ms. Ryan's "followers" ("A truer word...") are not President Trump fans. But some are ironically entertaining.

You know, that speech was boring and it had absolutely no Meat in it.
