[CHRONICLET] With enthusiasm, the Oberlin City Council changed the second Monday in October from Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day.
The unanimous vote for the resolution was anticipated, though it was not without opposition. Council voted about 8:15 p.m. Monday after nearly an hour of public comment from people for and against replacing the federally recognized holiday.
"I am in support, and believe it’s the right thing to do," Councilwoman Sharon Pearson said. Councilwoman Linda Slocum said she learned a lot about Christopher Columbus during the research of the resolution and came to the same conclusion. "Columbus has enjoyed 500 years of praise, and it’s now time to shift the spotlight," Slocum said. Columbus badgered the Queen of Spain into hocking her jewels so he and his crews could set off for the horizon and discover a new world.
Council had worked for months to put together a resolution with input from the Indigenous Peoples Day Committee, a group of residents who have pushed to do away with Columbus Day. No Iroquois or Shoshone or Pequod ever seems to have gotten into a canoe and sailed east to discover Europe.
Morning Dove Jean Simon spoke on behalf of the committee and thanked Council for its efforts. That's probably why there aren't any teepees in Düsseldorf.
They do love cowboys and Indians over there, though, and square dancing in full regalia. It's all the fault of author Karl May and his wild west novels.
"We cannot remain invisible anymore," Simon said. "When the original people of the land speak up and speak out, it’s with great thought, and we’ve asked you to listen, and you’ve done that," Simon said. "The time for our healing is now. To quote an old Chinese proverb, ’Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those doing it.’ "

That should get the Dims a lot of dead Indian votes. Now the leftists need to get "Bemossed", "Sitting Bull", "Pocahontis" registered.

How many generations do people have to be in one place to be 'natives'? If you buy the 'out of Africa' line, then no human is native to the Americas. About the only pre-Indo-Europeans left in the Eurasian land mass in the west are probably the Basques. Goes back to the original question, how many generations? Oh, and then do those migrating from Central and South America get to be treated as non-natives as well? That'll be a fun exercise of interest groups vs interest groups.

Columbus and the "Columbian Exchange" basically created the modern world -- the Homogenocene. If any Burgers have the time, I highly recommend 1491 and 1493 by Charles C. Mann.

I'm pretty sure syphilis or some other nasty STD originated in the Caribbean and was brought back to Europe via Columbus. That has to count for something.
Having said that the Italian-Americans should have made Columbus day a drinking holiday (like St Patricks and Cinco De Mayo) and nobody would think of screwing with it.
[NEWSBUSTERS.ORG] Over the course of last week, on NBC and MSNBC, host Chuck Todd gave a leg up to the violent Antifa ...purveyors of mindless lefty revolution... movement by letting them defend their assaults on the police and innocent people not once, but twice. Todd’s interviews showed just how tolerant he was of those who use violence to shut down free speech. And while Todd was absent from MTP Daily on Monday, Katy Tur picked up his torch and proudly pushed back against the First Amendment’s acknowledgment of a person’s right to free speech.
"And challenging the First Amendment," Tur declared during the show’s opening tease. "Should holy warrior groups have the right to rally? We'll delve into the power and pitfalls of free speech."
When Tur finally got around to targeting free speech rights later in the show, she began by bringing up the controversial rally in Boston, Massachusetts, and counter-protest that dwarfed it. "Over the weekend the debate over free speech raged on," was how she described the events of Saturday, with no mention of the bystanders beaten or the police doused with bottles of urine by Antifa.

Hmmm...Freedom of the Press, aka 1st Amendment, was about the technology of the flow of information which in 1790 was the printing press. It was not about an institution divorced from the consequences of supply and demand. The internet closely aligns with the concept and intent of the 1st Amendment not what a self serving institution that refers to itself as the 'press' and thus proclaiming protection from consequences that any other business is subject to for deception, libel, reckless disregard, et al.

#1 They bring up the more pertinent question: Should MSNBC have the right to broadcast?
Daniel: Unfortunately, yes. Perhaps, their broadcasts should be required to come with a disclaimer or or warning such as: "Warning, This is Pure Bullshit. Believe It at Your Own Peril."
[BREITBART] Black Lives Matter activist Chanelle Helm released a list of "requests" to white people in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, this month.
Helm, the so-called "cofounder and core organizer of Black Lives Matter Louisville," explained in an article published at Leoweekly.com the things she says need to "change."
"White people, if you don’t have any descendants, will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably one that lives in generational poverty," Helm writes in an article titled "White people, here are 10 requests from a Black Lives Matter leader."
White people are asked, "Give up the home you own to a black or brown family," pass on any inherited property "to a black or brown family," or "re-budget your monthly so you can donate to black funds for land purchasing."
White women, especially, are urged to "get a racist fired" or "get your boss fired cause they racist too," Helms writes.
She concludes, "Commit to two things: Fighting white supremacy where and how you can (this doesn’t mean taking up knitting, unless you’re making scarves for black and brown kids in need), and funding black and brown people and their work."

Home invasion types are actually knocking first?

Ms. Helm might be delighted to learn her plan to 'pass on property' is already in action in places like Clayton County Georgia, where real estate values continue to plummet. The schools are the first to go (or be surrendered), then the homes and businesses.
The absence of school-aged children is nearly always a sign of societal change. For a greater understanding of the local dynamic, plan on visiting Clayton County and scenic Jonesboro, GA. soon. You'll be amazed at the progressive transition, that is, if you do not become a crime statistic.

White built civilisation to black niggas (not black people see Chris Rock for details)
Get a job
Don't think ignorance is good
Stop the criminality
Stop claiming benefits

Because home ownership is magical? This is cargo cult thinking.
The suburbs are pleasant not because of the nice homes, but because of the hard working families that are drawn to live in places like the suburbs. If they were handed over they'd be nice for a couple of years and then the place would look like Watts.

In a way, that is a pretty good metaphor. If we all have nothing, we are all equal, and no one has to feel bad for being a lazy, uneducated, fugly racist bitch.

This is a pretty useful document. In keeping with the idea of making the other side live up to their own rules, circulate the list to any Dem candidate and ask them what they've done about it, especially the rich ones. Liz? Nancy? Three-Houses Bernie? Chelsea, you own a $10mm full-block residence in Manhattan. Got any room for a black or brown family in there, especiailly one suffering from intergenerational poverty? No? Then you're a racist.
[MSN] They shouted down the mayor and City Council members, took over the Council chambers for about a half-hour, and gave more than four hours of impassioned testimony about how city officials had botched the response to the deadly white supremacist rally here this month. They're counting on Short Attention Span Syndrome to keep them in power.
In the end, the angry residents who spoke at the Charlottesville City Council meeting on Monday got some measure of action as officials said they would have a third-party review the city’s planning and reaction to the rally. The Council also voted unanimously to take the first administrative steps to remove a statue of the Confederate general Stonewall Jackson in the city. They took the statues down because somebody complained they wuz scared of them mean old Confederates.
That move was significant, as it was the Council’s decision earlier this year to remove a statue of Robert E. Lee that prompted the white nationalists to rally in the city earlier this month.
Monday’s meeting was the Council’s first since the rallies on Aug. 11 and 12 that brought hundreds of white supremacists to Charlottesville. White and black residents alike were furious with the police response to the demonstrations, and they faulted officers for not engaging during repeated scuffles. A woman, Heather D. Heyer, was killed when a man drove into counterprotesters.
The meeting started out without incident, but as soon as the rally was mentioned, several residents began shouting down city officials for allowing the Aug. 12 "Unite the Right" rally to take place. The chamber erupted, and when coppers forcibly removed three people, the 100 or so at the meeting broke out into furious chants of "Shame" and "Shut it down!" The three people were issued summonses charging them with disorderly conduct. No injuries were reported.

So the police finally showed up. Guess who they were protecting tonight.

Some woman took an hour long (or longer) film of what happened at the rally. I only was able to watch 20 minutes of it, but it was enough to see her interview six or so participants of the original demonstration, who happened to pass by. None of those were white supremacists. One was concerned with freedom of speech, another wanted to keep historical objects in place, and so on. Others wanted to keep things peaceful.
The object of the "unity march" was to protest the removal of the statue of a Confederate.
I understand that some bad people attended this, but I do not understand why everyone calls this a white supremacist event.
Actually, the City Council vote to remove the statue was three to two, and the mayor was one of the two against it.
Why was the march described as a Nazi event?
Being against removal of the statue was apparently something about which reasonable people could disagree.
In the video that I watched a woman taking part in the protest, while walking from one site to another under instructions from the police, fell to the ground, apparently hit by a rock thrown at her. This caused a number of other protesters to hang around with her. I was surprised to see no policeman or medic come to help her, as she lay on the ground for quite a while. though fellow protesters were trying to help her. After a while perhaps a dozen of the protestors were standing around her. An angry young man came up to them and said, why don't you get out of here. We don't want you. Someone politely answered that a woman had been hit by a rock and they were waiting for someone to help. Meanwhile a crowd of anti-Mazi's accumulated around them. At this point I stopped watching.

You know, if I were Putin, I'd offer to buy all the Confederate statues: "We'll keep them until American People want them back".
And if I was Bibi, I'd wait for the next Trump tweet and drop a FAE on Gaza - nobody would notice.

Since he's going to lose anyway, primary him. Find someone in KY who can beat him - should not be hard. Start the campaign now, and make it dirty. He might change his tune before 2020.

Nice shot!
It is always interesting to see the background of TV clips and see that the TV reporters and camera crews seem to outnumber the protesters that they are "covering".
