An explosion took place in the vicinity of 15th police district of Kabul city earlier today leaving at least one person wounded.
The security officials confirmed an magnetic bomb targeted a vehicle belonging to an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier.
The officials further added that the blast partially damaged the vehicle and left the driver of the vehicle wounded who was taken to hospital and his health condition is satisfactory.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
This comes as one person was wounded in a similar incident that took place in the vicinity of Taimani area of the city last week.
At least one person was killed and two others were wounded in a similar incident in Karte Naw area of the city nearly ten days ago.
The security officials in Kabul said the bomb was planted in a vehicle belonging to the traffic police and a driver of the traffic department was killed.
Earlier, back to back coordinated attacks rocked Kabul city, leaving at least 18 people dead and scores of others wounded.
The first incident took place in a shrine in Karte Sakhi area of the city on Wednesday night as hundreds of people had gathered to mark the Ashura day.

[Khaama] The counter-terrorism forces of the Afghan police confiscated a truck carrying at least 1,000 kg of explosives in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said three suspects including two Pakistani nationals were also arrested in connection to the transportation of the explosives.
MoI further added that the explosives were of Ammonium Nitrate type which are mainly used to manufacture Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
According to MoI, the transportation of the explosives in a bus carrying Pakistani registration plate shows that the terrorist groups on the other side of the Durand Line are attempting to stage attacks in Afghanistan.
The ant-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.
This comes as the Afghan officials have long been criticizing Pakistan for remaining reckless to act against the terrorist groups using its soil to plan and coordinate attacks in Afghanistan.
The Afghan officials are saying that the leadership councils of the Taliban group and the notorious Haqqani terrorist network are based in Quetta and Peshawar cities of Pakistan.

[IsraelTimes] Pre-dawn strikes on Islamic State-aligned group injure another 70, destroy vehicles
The Egyptian Air Force Sunday pounded jihadist groups in the Sinai Peninsula, reportedly killing 70 fighters and injuring another 70, the day after an Egyptian general was rubbed out outside his home in the capital Cairo.
In a series of predawn raids, jets targeted the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... -aligned Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis ...Supporters of Jerusalem, the current pen name of al-Qaeda in the Sinai Peninsula... group in the village of Bolus between Sheikh Zuwaid and the city of Rafah in northern Sinai, the British Sky News Arabic website reported.
Several SUV vehicles and cycle of violences used by the turbans were also destroyed.
Security forces told Sky News that Egyptian soldiers also thwarted a terror attack by uncovering four bombs planted at a communications site in the area.
The raids, among the most extensive carried out by the Egyptian military in its ongoing campaign against jihadists in the restive peninsula, followed the gunning down of Brigadier General Adel Ragaei. Ragaei, who commanded an armored division deployed in Sinai, died in a hail of bullets as he left his home in the Obour City suburb, a family member told AFP.
Jihadists loyal to the Islamic State group are waging a fierce insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula, which borders Israel and the Paleostinian Gazoo Strip.
They have also claimed attacks in or near Cairo, including the abduction and murder of a Croatian oil worker and the bombing of the Italian consulate in 2015.
Other lesser-known groups have also conducted attacks since the army overthrew Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in 2013 and cracked down on his supporters.

Lazare Tarpaga said Sunday that police tracked down snuffies in Ouagadougou who were sent to recruit trainees. He said they fatally shot a man with a grenade and a gun Saturday. Tarpaga said police are pursuing three others, who are Burkina Faso nationals.
Security Minister Simon Compaore said the government intends to dismantle holy warrior groups in Burkina Faso.

[Al Arabiya] Al Arabiya reported on Sunday that Houthi militias have begun suppressing protests in Yemen’s capital of Sana’a’s central prison - using live bullets to hold of protesters.
Yesterday, mothers of the detained in Houthi controlled prisons organized a demonstration in front of UN headquarters in the capital, protesting the militias’ treatment of their sons.
Previously, this month, an international rights organization has accused Houthi militias of arbitrarily detaining and forcibly disappearing dozens of people in Sana’a.
The rebel group detained at least 35 people between August 2014 and October 2015, according to a report released Sunday by Human Rights Watch.
HRW says in addition to political opponents, the Houthis have targeted journalists reporting for opposition outlets.
“Politicians, activists, lawyers and journalists tell us they’ve never been more frightened of ending up disappeared” according to a statement from the organization.
[Iran Press TV] Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... has resumed its Arclight airstrikes against Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... after the expiry of a three-day ceasefire in the war-ravaged country.
The Saudi jets conducted more than 16 Arclight airstrikes on areas across the provinces of Sana’a, Ta’izz, Hudaydah and Hajjah at dawn on Sunday, Yemen’s al-Masirah television reported.
Several neighborhoods in Sana’a, including Nihm, Naqim and Hafa as well as Deylami airbase were targeted in rocket attacks.
Similar air raids also hit districts of Mukha and Abs, situated in Ta’izz and in Hajjah, respectively.
The strikes happened hours after the 72-hour ceasefire ended without renewal. The truce was brokered by the UN to allow aid to reach families trapped in areas cut off by the war in the Arab country.
The raids further came before the arrival in Sana’a of UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, who is expected to discuss options for a political solution to the conflict.
205 attacks recorded against Saudi borderline cities of Jizan and Najraan
Violations registered within Yemen territory:
265 in the city of Taiz
116 in the Jaawf region
124 in the city of Marib
144 in Daleh governorate
48 in Hajjeh governorate
41 in Al Bayda
24 in Shabwah
Insurgency militias staged all transgressions through systematic firing of heavy to medium and low caliber arms. Projectile and sniper activity was also recorded.
Warring parties in Yemen had agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire that took effect shortly before midnight Oct.18– The Gulf nation has descended into chaos after local Houthi Iran-backed militias staged a coup against the constitutionally elected government in 2014.
The insurgency’s routine violation to prior humanitarian ceasefires made observers skeptic on this truce turning out any different. Political analysts believe that Houthi militias have no say in their own commitment to announced armistice—when it comes to the insurgency’s decision-making process, Iran still holds great influence fostered by its support for the group.

[NBC] Turkey is a NATO partner that stands with U.S. troops on the battlefields of Syria and Iraq, but it's an ally that's increasingly turning its guns on fighters the U.S. sees as vital to crushing ISIS.
On Wednesday, Turkey launched one of its biggest airstrikes in decades -- bombing 18 positions in northern Syria and killing an estimated 200 fighters.
But the strikes north of Aleppo didn't involve President Bashar al-Assad's army, or any of the main groups fighting his government like the Free Syrian Army, the Jihadi militia Jabhat Fatah al Sham, or even ISIS.
Instead, Turkey bombed People's Protection Units, or YPG -- Kurdish militia the U.S. considers the most effective force against ISIS in Syria.
Turkey has sent 2,000 troops into Iraq, where they are watching the massive military operation aimed at recapturing Mosul from the extremists. Baghdad maintains Turkey has violated its sovereignty and on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for an ex-Mosul governor who allegedly "invited" in the troops.
These latest in a series of military moves reveal how the government of President Tayyip Erdogan is reasserting its historic territorial claims while also trying to crush the country's mortal enemies -- Kurdish separatists.
Ankara has fought ethnic Kurdish militias within its borders for decades to prevent the birth of a new country, Kurdistan, carved out of Turkey itself. So it has watched carefully as YPG fighters secure large swaths of land along the Syrian-Turkish border.
Con't.

Apparently the roads linking Mosul to Al-Raqqah will remain open.
[Iran Press TV] The Iraqi air force has killed a top advisor to ISIS’s ringleader and second-in-command to the terror group’s shadow governor for djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , as part of large-scale military operations to liberate the strategic northern city.
Iraqi state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
reported on Sunday that Mi-35M helicopters carried out a series of air raids on the town of Tal Kayf (aka Tel Keppe), located some eight miles from Mosul in Nineveh Province, leaving the key ISIS member, named as Abu Osama, dead.
The attack also killed a number of Abu Osama’s henchmen, the report added.
Mosul fell to ISIS in 2014, when the terror group started ravaging the country, naming the city as its so-called headquarters in Iraq.
Over the past months, ISIS has lost much of the Iraqi territory it had seized, with Mosul currently serving as its last stronghold in the country.
Earlier in the month, Arabic-language Iraqi Media News Agency (WAA) reported that Ibrahim al-Samarrai, otherwise known as His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Four Paleostinians jugged Book 'im, Mahmoud! late last week for attending a sukkot holiday event in a West Bank settlement were freed on Sunday evening, Channel 2 News reported.
The report said that the Israeli army’s chief coordinator with the Paleostinian Authority, the Coordinator of Government Activity in the Territories, Major General Yoav Mordechai, had been instrumental in securing the men’s release. It did not give further details.
[IsraelTimes] In overnight raids, army also picks up 2 Paleostinians in West Bank, seizes alleged terror funds
Police incarcerated Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! 19 residents of East Jerusalem’s Arab neighborhoods on Saturday night and early Sunday morning for throwing rocks and rioting over the Jewish High Holidays, a police spokesperson said.
In the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces and Border Police also arrested two Paleostinians in separate overnight raids and confiscated money that was suspected of being "designated for terror activities," the army said.
The 19 people, including five minors, arrested in East Jerusalem were "suspected of taking part in riots that were carried out during the holidays, with an emphasis on the riots during Yom Kippur," the police said.
During the Yom Kippur holiday on October 12, which came two days after a deadly Jerusalem shooting attack in which a 60-year-old woman and a police officer were killed, residents of the terrorists’ neighborhood of Silwan clashed with security forces.
During the violent protest, Israeli forces rubbed out a 20-year-old Paleostinian man, Ali Shiouki, Paleostinian officials said. Israeli authorities acknowledged they had shot at a man who was part of a group that threw Molotov cocktails at them "while greatly endangering the soldiers’ lives."
Saturday night and Sunday morning, coppers raided Jabel Mukaber, Issawiya, the Shuafat refugee camp and Silwan "in order to locate and arrest the rioters who threw rocks, Molotov cocktails, set fire to trash cans and blockaded streets," according to a police statement.
"This planned operation was based on exact and high-quality intelligence," police said.
At the same time, the IDF, along with the Border Police’s undercover unit and the Shin Bet security service, picked up two Paleostinians. One suspect was arrested in Fasayil, near Jericho in the Jordan Valley, on an unspecified charge. The other -- named by Arabic media as Qusay Abu Shehab -- was picked up in Azzun, outside Hebron. He is suspected of being a member of the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terrorist group, the army said.
During Abu Shehab’s arrest, security forces also confiscated an undisclosed amount of money they said was going to be used to fund terrorist activities.
Ahead of the upcoming Simhat Torah holiday, which starts Sunday at sundown, the IDF closed off the West Bank and Gazoo to Paleostinian travel for 48 hours.
The closure went into effect on Saturday at 11:59 p.m., and the checkpoints and crossings are expected to re-open on Monday at 11:59 p.m., dependent upon a "situational assessment," the army said in a statement.
Exceptions would be made for medical emergencies and other "humanitarian cases," dependent upon the approval of the Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the IDF said.
Security has been tight for this year’s Jewish High Holiday season, which began in early October, with fears of a new surge in violence.
[Ynet] Three Paleostinians approached and touched the fence surrounding the settlement of Beit El located in the Binyamin region Sunday afternoon. IDF soldiers present at the scene opened fire with rubber bullets, hitting one of the suspicious individuals in his leg.
[GMANETWORK] Police on Sunday killed an alleged member of the Abu Sayyaf ...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder... Group, who was also included in the drugs watchlist in Lantawan, Basilan ...Basilan is a rugged, jungle-covered island in the southern Philippines. It is a known stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf, bandidos, and maybe even orcs. Most people with any sense travel with armed escorts... The Basilan Police Provincial Office identified the slain suspect as Said Ummal alias Said Usman.
The suspect was killed by members of the Lantawan Police Station at around 12:35 p.m.
Policemen were serving an arrest warrant against the suspect when he allegedly fired at the lawmen.
The Basilan police said Ummal is listed as the fifth most wanted person in Lantawan town and was being suspected as a drug pusher.
It said the suspect is facing several criminal charges and was among those who beat feet from the provincial jail last January 27.

Cycle of violence involved
[al-Manar] Three people were injured in a booby-trapped motorcycle detonated by terrorists in al-Mshairfeh neighborhood in Hasaka city.
A source at Hasaka Police Command told SANA reporter that terrorists on Sunday morning remotely detonated a motorcycle that was parked in al-Mshairfeh residential neighborhood in Hasaka city, injuring three citizens including a woman and causing a material damage to the place.
On October 13th, 30 people were killed and 90 others were injured after a suicide terrorist blew himself up with an explosive belt inside al-Sanabel hall for weddings near Safyiah village on Hasaka-Qamishli highway.
[ARA News] Damascus – The Islamic State (ISIS) militant group threatened on Sunday that its fighters will soon invade the Syrian capital Damascus.
“Fighters of the Caliphate are preparing to enter the heart of al-Sham [Damascus],” the group said in a statement.
ISIS vowed to hit both the Syrian regime and the armed opposition in the Syrian capital.
The radical group has been in control of main areas in the southern suburb of Damascus for more than a year.
Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighbourhood is considered a main base for ISIS militants in southern Damascus. The group has also captured the nearby districts of Yarmouk and Tadamun after clashes with Syrian rebel factions and the al-Qaeda-splinter group of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham [previously known as Nusra Front].
ISIS accused the rebel groups in Damascus of working on behalf of the Assad regime.
“The time has come for the Caliphate fighters to take al-Sham [Damascus] from the infidels and their mercenaries,” the radical group said, vowing to apply the Sharia rule in the Syrian capital.
Syrian journalist and researcher on Islamic studies, Mustafa Abde, told ARA News that the group will most likely try to open new fighting fronts in southern Syria to ease the pressure on its ranks in the north.
“This announcement comes after the group started to lose ground in Iraq amid deteriorating morale among its militants. ISIS is seeking for new so-called victories to regain its reputation as a strong organisation,” Abde argued.

[Iran Press TV] Clashes between Syrian government forces and gunnies have erupted in the divided city of Aleppo after a unilateral ceasefire announced by Russia came to an end.
The ceasefire expired on Saturday evening, after a one-day extension on Friday. The truce was aimed at permitting civilians and foreign-sponsored gunnies to leave the eastern areas of the city.
During the ceasefire, eight humanitarian corridors were set up for people to leave to the city, but according to reports they were seldom used.
Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Sergei Rudskoi said that gunnies were stopping people from using the corridors, using civilians as human shields.
"The forces of Evil are using the ceasefire in their interest... We are seeing them massing around Aleppo and preparing for another breakthrough into the city's western neighborhoods," he said.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, fierce festivities broke out along the line dividing the city with exchanges of heavy artillery fire.

[ABCNEWS.GO] Fighting returned to Syria's Aleppo Sunday after a cease-fire to allow rebels and civilians to leave the city's besieged eastern districts expired with no evacuations.
As rebels and pro-government forces battled in the contested city's southern countryside, a pro-opposition media outlet circulated footage of a powerful and hard-line Islamist rebel coalition announcing that the campaign to break the government's siege of the city's east would begin "within hours."
Jaish al-Fatah commander Ali Abu Adi al-Aloush told the Qasioun News Agency that "zero hour has drawn near," and that faceless myrmidons and kamikaze fighters had begun moving toward Aleppo. It was unclear when the interview was recorded.
