[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan cops have foiled an attack by a female hard boy on Supreme Court in Kabul ...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... city.
A security official has said the armed woman was looking to enter into the court compound but was rubbed out before she manage to go inside.
No group has so far grabbed credit behind the failed attack on the Supreme Court compound so far.
But the Talibs group earlier warned to carry out attacks on judiciary institutions and courts following the execution of a group of forces of Evil by the Afghan government.
Several Taliban, Haqqani network, and Al-Qaeda network forces of Evil were executed by the Afghan government after a major attack on VIP protection unit in Kabul.
The attack carried out in mid-April left at least 64 people dead and around 347 others maimed.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 48 snuffies fighting for the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed during the operations in eastern Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. province of Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the snuffies were killed during the operations conducted in the vicinity of Achin district.
MoD further added that the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan army and other security institutions including the Afghan Air Force.
Some weapons and ammunition belonging to the terror group were also destroyed during the raids, MoD said.
The loyalists of the terror group have not commented regarding the report so far.
This comes as defense minister Gen. Abdullah Habibi visited Nangarhar province on Wednesday to meet the provincial officials and discuss the launch of a major operation against ISIS terrorist group and other krazed killer groups in this province.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) have stepped up operations against the loyalists of ISIS terrorist group amid concerns that they are attempting to expand foothold in the country.
The US forces in Afghanistan are also conducted regular Arclight airstrikes against the loyalists of the terror group in Nangarhar province.

Al Shabaab fighters have retaken Ali-Gadud mosque area in southern Somalia after Government troops pulled out of the town on Thursday, residents said.
The Somali troops who vacated the town have retreated back to Adalle, where reports say they are planning a new counter-attack to regain control of Ali-Gadud mosque area.
Why, so that they can give it back again?
Local residents said Al Shabaab fighters with fighting vehicles moved in the town on Thursday morning, seizing police station and the main administrative headquarters. Al Shabaab militants hoisted their flag on the top buildings and lectured residents to inform them their comeback, according to the anonymous resident.

Police in Kenya’s port city of Mombasa on Thursday shot and killed two men they said were wanted fighters belonging to the Somali al Shabaab group, a senior officer said. The two, who had been under surveillance for two months, were killed after police raided their hideout in Mishomoroni area, deputy area police chief Walter Abondo said. Another man ran away escaped.
“We have identified the dead suspects…and the two have been linked to terrorism activities in Malindi and Lamu,” Abondo told reporters, referring to towns north of Mombasa that have witnessed attacks and heightened activity related to al Shabaab.
Police found greandes, bullets, explosive acid and compact discs that had bomb-assembling instructions in the hideout.

[AnNahar] Nigeria's military says it has rescued 80 children and women held captive by the Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... Lion of Islam group in a remote northeastern village.
Army front man Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman says they were freed Tuesday by troops who attacked a gathering of the Islamic fighters at Gangere village in Borno state.
He says 42 gunnies were killed and troops released 42 children and 38 women.
The military has reported freeing as many as 10,000 Boko Haram captives this year but none of the 219 girls from Chibok school. That mass abduction in April 2014 shocked people around the world and brought global attention to the seven-year Islamic insurgency that has spread across Nigeria's borders.

[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] The Yemeni army and popular committees managed on Thursday to repel an attack launched by the Saudi-led mercenaries on Haradh city in Hijja province near border with KSA.
The Saudi warplanes fruitlessly attempted to save the attackers by a large number of raids, as the Yemeni army and popular committees killed or injured scores of bully boyz and gunnies.
The Saudi-led escalation in the battlefield comes in the context of an attempt to thwart Kuwait negotiations which aim at reaching a peaceful solution for the Yemeni crisis.
The Yemeni army and popular committees also launched a ballistic missile on the Saudi National Guard post in Najran.
Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... has been since March 26, 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition.
Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to runaway ex-president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. [BBC] Shooting in a major shopping mall in the North of Munich. Several casualties reported. Doesn't matter who you kill, as long as you kill someone every day.
Terror hit home
Frank G. nearly simultaneously submitted the report from CNN on page 3:
Non-WOT until more info in
One person was killed and 10 people were injured in a shooting at a Munich shopping mall Friday, CNN affiliate NTV reported. Police say shooting is over
Gunfire rang out at a shopping mall in the German city of Munich on Friday evening, prompting a large law enforcement response to what one police spokesperson said was a "shooting spree." Watching the teevee coverage I heard (didn't see) AK-47 fire. How do you carry an AK-47 around the streets of a city like Munich? Why don't police shoot first and ask questions später? But we've already asked why they brought that big wooden horse into the country.
The shooting, reported about 6 p.m. local time at the Olympia shopping mall, is over, police spokeswoman Claudia Kvenzel said. There was no immediate information about injuries or deaths.
Lynn Stein, who said she works at the Jack Wolfskin store in the mall, told CNN that the shooter was inside the mall.
"I heard several shots," Stein said. "(I) was just going to buy something while my coworker was still in the shop.

Contrary to what is reported Munich police info has not been stellar.
It should have been quite easy to verify the situation in the center of Munich. No info was forthcoming.
There's a strange second video footage with a verbal altercation between an - obviously - Bavarian guy addressing one shooter from a balcony as "asshole" and the shooter replying "I'm German. I have been in treatment".

I've analyzed the footage numerous times. At least the shooter on the parking lot doesn't sound like an Islamist.
He's insulted by an Bavarian from a balcony as a "Scheiss-Kanake" and replies he's born in Germany. We hear the word Hartz IV (stands for receiving social benefits). Also says he's been in treatment. Had to buy a weapon.
No eyewitness has reported Allahu akbars.
One man has been found dead 1 km away from the scene, maybe the only (?) shooter?
It's getting very murky.

No eyewitness has reported Allahu akbars.
Not according to CNN, it appears the foreign media and US Fox news is suppressing this.
A woman named Lauretta told CNN she was in a McDonald's across the street from the mall when a man with a gun came out of a bathroom and began shooting.
"I come out of the toilet and I hear like an alarm, boom, boom, boom," she told CNN's Dugald McConnell. "He's killing the children (...) The children were sitting to eat. They can't run."
Loretta said the gunman was right behind her but had his back to her. She sd her 8-year-old son had been in the bathroom with the shooter, whom she described as heavyset and wearing dark clothing. She said the man yelled "Allahu akbar!"
http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/22/europe/germany-munich-shooting-live-updates/index.html
and another
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cn_qXB6UAAAKpDq.jpg
23.00: BR are reporting that ninth body which is male is probably that of a gunman. He reportedly has a red rucksack with him. Police are approaching with extreme caution as they don't know what is in bag
Also, now at least one gunman is being claimed as opposed to three, and only one site involved instead of three.
CNN quotes a witness at the McDonalds across from the mall who claimed to be Muslim and that she heard the gunaman say "Allahu Akhbar" when he came out of the bathroom and started shooting the children eating there.
At this point I await something more definitive. There are also insane Germans, murderous people on both the far right and far left
#62
Munich police would certainly want to contact that witness.
I may be wrong but currently things are pointing to only one - and now dead - deranged gunman with psychological problems.
But let's see what the night brings. Traffic is resuming in the inner city.

I'm most interested in the phenomena of fewer final shooters and fewer victims. No official source wants to say 'some got away'. I wonder how many single shooter scenarios there really are.
#68
OK Munich police just said there was only ONE shooter who killed himself on the run.
Given the circumstances this probably was not an Islamist attack (jury is still out on that one), but a seriously deranged person with a handgun (no AK47) shooting people in the head.

[IsraelTimes] Security forces sweep mosque, Islamic library and two private homes in Argenteuil; unclear if operation related to Nice attack
French anti-terrorist forces are conducting raids on locations in the northwestern Gay Paree suburb of Argenteuil near a mosque and an Islamic library.
A top security official said both La Belle France’s top counter-terrorism organization, the DGSI, and the country’s elite police were involved in the Thursday raids that targeted two private residences.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because she was unauthorized to speak publicly on the matter, said she didn’t know if the raids had any links to last week’s truck attack in Nice that killed 84 people and couldn’t elaborate further.

Reminds me of old dreams involving domestic ops by French elite forces including the Foreign Legion.
Not much of a UK Royal Navy anymore = BREXIT to back up the Frenchies + keep the Hard Boyz from crossing the Channel. May explain dream sequences/scenes where French troops were digging trenches on their own soil.

Suspended Sentence to Turkish Officers who Fled to Greece after Coup Bid
[An Nahar] A Greek court on Thursday sentenced eight Turkish military officers who fled last week's failed coup to suspended two-month prison terms, an AFP reporter said. The officers, sought by Turkey to face a military trial at home, have requested asylum in Greece and will remain in police custody until their cases on that issue are heard early in August. The prison sentence for illegal entry was suspended for a three-year period, the court in the northern city of Alexandroupoli said, taking into account that the men felt threatened.
Names and some details of four of the military men accused of leading the "coup".
Turkish Parliament rubber stamps state of emergency bill
[Hurriyet] Parliament approved a bill to introduce a three-month state of emergency in Turkey on July 21, a day after the government declared a three-month long state of emergency throughout the country. Some 346 deputies voted in favor of the bill while 115 deputies voted against it.
At least that's what Hurriyet claims. There are tanks and people in uniform to be seen in the video at the link. Who, when, at what they are firing I would not dare say.
President Erdoğan’s chief aide admits 'mistakes' but denies link to coup, Gülenists
[Hurriyet] President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s chief aide-de-camp, who was arrested as part of the wide-scale investigations into the July 15 failed coup attempt, has reportedly accepted that he made “wrong choices” on the night, but denied charges that he was involved in the coup attempt.
Gülenists within Turkish Armed Forces defied orders from PM, HQ: Military
[Hurriyet] The TSK received intel from National Intelligence Service (MİT) at around 4 p.m. on July 15 regarding a planned coup attempt and asked for measures to be taken, but the orders were not carried out by followers of Fethullah Gülen, a U.S.-based Islamic scholar said to be behind the plot, the statement said.
More orders at 19:26 p.m., 19:56 p.m., 20:31 p.m., and 21:45 p.m., which suggests careful documentation by someone concerned about being questioned later.
AKP deputy describes attack on Erdoğan’s hotel during failed coup attempt
[Hurriyet] A ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy, who was with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 15 during the attack on his hotel in the Marmaris district of the southern province of Muğla amid the failed coup attempt, has described the night of the attack, saying Erdoğan left the hotel 45 minutes before the coup plotters arrived.
During his interview, Öztürk said Erdoğan “never considered going to the Greek island of Rhodes,” despite it being only around 15 minutes from his hotel.
“We didn’t even talk about going there. He didn’t say, ‘I could go to Rhodes and be safe.’ I’m proud of myself for doing politics with this kind of leader,” he added.
Suspensions, detentions, arrests continue after coup attempt in Turkey
[Hurriyet] A total of 29 personnel from Turkey’s Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) were suspended from duty on July 21 as a part of the ongoing and extensive probe into the failed coup attempt of July 15, which has resulting in thousands of suspensions, detentions and arrests across the country.
According to a statement issued by the body, 29 personnel working in various positions at the media watchdog were suspended as part of an investigation into the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Structure (FETÖ/PDY).
Meanwhile, the authorities of 14 top military judges detained in the wake of the July 15 failed coup were revoked on July 21 by Turkey’s top military disciplinary body.
The High Disciplinary Committee revoked the authorities of seven members of Turkey’s High Military Administrative Court – including two colonels – who were detained after the attempted coup.
Separately, the committee also decided to revoke the authorities of seven Military Supreme Court judge colonels who were detained.
Detentions and arrests against thousands for alleged links to the coup attempt and the FETÖ/PDY, which is suspected of masterminding the attempt, have continued. The July 15 coup attempt by a faction within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) failed but caused the death of at least 246 people, including members of the security forces and civilians.
Meanwhile, Istanbul’s Criminal Court of Peace remanded 32 out of 86 detained judges and prosecutors, judicial sources said early on July 21.
The 86 suspects had been initially charged with attempting to overthrow the government, sources said.
In the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir, 13 out of 17 detained judges and prosecutors were arrested, while in the western province of Aydın 27 people, including four judges and two prosecutors, were remanded in custody.
Two of the suspects were charged with gathering money for “benevolence” and sending it to U.S. schools allegedly affiliated with the Gülen movement.
In the southeastern province of Şırnak, 387 soldiers, six prosecutors, six judges and four police officers were also arrested, while authorities in the Mediterranean province of Antalya arrested 29 judges and prosecutors over alleged links to the FETÖ/PDY.
In his first interview since declaring a state of emergency following the abortive coup, Erdogan said a new coup attempt was possible but would not be easy, saying "we are more vigilant".
"It is very clear that there were significant gaps and deficiencies in our intelligence, there is no point trying to hide it or deny it. I told it to the head of national intelligence," Erdogan told.
The purge will continue, new Gulen dossier to be sent to U.S.
[Hurriyet] The efforts to cleanse state bodies of Gulen sympathizers will continue, and those with even the slightest link to the organization will be removed from their positions, Kurtulmus said, while stressing that they will be very careful to not punish the innocent.
Although thousands of soldiers and high-ranking officers have been detained, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) will not suffer personnel shortages as the Supreme Military Council (YAS) will convene to decide appointments and retirements in early August as planned, the deputy prime minister also stated.
On the extradition of shady Pennsylvania-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen from the United States, Kurtulmus said a new dossier on Gulen’s role in the attempted coup would be sent to the U.S. authorities within 10 or 15 days.
"Law, friendship and our strategic relationship requires immediate extradition of this person. We definitely want him from the United States," he said, while also complaining about a "lack of empathy" on the U.S. side

[Mindanao Examiner] Philippine marines raided a suspected Abu Sayyaf hideout on Thursday and captured three people and three speedboats in a daring operation near the Sabah border in the southern Philippine province of Tawi-Tawi. A shotgun and ammunition were also taken from the men, who are being interrogated to determine if they were involved in cross-border kidnappings.
The capture of the trio coincided with the arrest late Thursday afternoon of an Abu Sayyaf militant – Bads Adjam, alias Abu Jihad – in Zamboanga City. Adjam has been linked to the 2002 kidnappings of six Jehovah’s Witnesses in Patikul town in Sulu province and 21 mostly European holidaymakers in Sipadan Island off Sabah in 2000.

[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli announced that the country's security forces have discovered a secret tunnel in Eastern Iran that the murderous Moslems sought to use for sabotage operations.
"Two nights before, we discovered a 40-meter tunnel in the 20-meter depth of the earth in the Eastern parts of the country and they (the terrorists) intended to use it secretly in ripe conditions for conducting kaboom and other operations," Rahmani Fazli said, addressing a forum in Tehran on Thursday.
"40 people were incarcerated Please don't kill me! in this regard," he added, but declined to provide any further details.
In a relevant development, an informed source said on Wednesday that the Iranian security forces dismantled a terrorist cell in the Southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, Fras news agency reported.
"Members of a team which sought to carry out sabotage acts and blow up different places in Khash were identified and arrested," the source said.
In the same region last month, the Iranian security forces arrested a member of Ansar al-Forqan terrorist group.
"During the Law Enforcement Police's festivities with members of a terrorist group in Khash in the last (Iranian) month (of Khordad - mid June), several people were killed but one of them was arrested alive and his confessions showed that these people were members of Ansar al-Forqan terrorist grouplet," said Mohammad Marziyeh, the general-prosecutor of Zahedan city.
