So far, no group including the Taliban has grabbed credit for the attack.
This has been the second attack on police over the past 24 hours in southern zone after a number of gunnies attacked the police in Uruzgan province on Monday night, killing four coppers and injuring four others.

[Ynet] US officials say a big shot of the al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... murderous Moslem group in Somalia was killed in a US Arclight airstrike in the southern part of the country over the weekend.
Officials say the leader was in a vehicle hit by a drone strike. Other group members were reportedly killed. Officials would not release the name of the al-Shabaab leader. They say the strike was near the town of Dinsoor in the southwestern bay region.
All very vague, but I s'pose it's good to know we're helping.

A gun battle that lasted nearly 30 minutes ensued between police officers manning the compound and the attackers, security officials said.

On Tuesday morning, Mudug region accountant Mohamed Ali Yusuf (Gadayare) survived roadside bomb.
Puntland government previously said it beefed up soldiers presence in the restive Galkayo which straddles the state’s southern border with Galmudug.

Tripoli -- New clashes erupted on Tuesday between Libyan rival factions fighting for control of the country’s biggest oil port Es Sider, killing several people, both sides said.
Remember, this was a foreign policy triumph for President Lead-From-Behind...
The fighting came a day after the United Nations said it was seeking a ceasefire to pave the way for a new round of peace talks between rival factions operating two opposing governments, nearly four years after Muammar Gaddafi’s overthrow.
Libya’s internationally recognised government under Prime Minister Abdullah Al Thinni and the elected House of Representatives have been based in the east since a group called Libya Dawn seized Tripoli last summer, set up its own administration and reinstated the old parliament.
Troops loyal to the Tripoli government launched an offensive in December to try to take the eastern Es Sider and Ras Lanuf oil ports, which have had to shut down operations. Both sides had declared partial ceasefires last month which had largely held to give a UN-sponsored dialogue a chance.
Forces allied to Thinni conducted air strikes on Tuesday to stop a new advance of fighters allied to the rival government, a spokesman for Thinni’s forces said.
“There is an attack from them from all sides on the oil ports,” the spokesman said. “But we’ve stopped them.”
The rival force confirmed fighting was taking place. “Our boys are advancing,” said an official of the rival government, adding that five of his troops had died.
On Monday, UN Special Envoy Bernadino Leon visited Tripoli to discuss with the rival assembly restarting the talks within days inside Libya. Last month, the United Nation managed to bring some members of the factions to talks in Geneva but the Tripoli-based parliament known as GNC wanted the dialogue to take place inside Libya.
The shutdown of the two ports is a blow to Libya’s already crippled public finances as the central bank has been using up its dollar reserves to keep the country afloat. Oil output has slumped to around 350,000 bpd, a fifth of what Libya used to pump before the 2011 uprising against Gaddafi.

[SAUDIGAZETTE.SA] Cairo airport authorities tightened security after finding two bombs near the arrivals hall and a homemade bombwent kaboom! in the center of the capital on Tuesday, security officials said.
State news agency MENA quoted Cairo security chief Khaled Youssef as saying the device planted in central Cairo was a sound bomb and that there were no casualties.
The bombs at the airport were detected with electronic devices early on Tuesday and security officials were reviewing video footage to try and determine who planted them, security sources said. Egypt has been trying to project an image of stability ahead of an investment conference in the resort of Sharm El-Sheikh in March that the government hopes will generate ventures worth billions of dollars. The bulk of attacks on security forces have occurred in the Sinai, which borders Israel and the Gazoo Strip, but the insurgency has spread to other parts of Egypt, a US ally. Over the past year, police have frequently discovered homemade bombs planted near their vehicles and in public places in Cairo.

“The other suspects, who are still on the loose, are tracked down by the police,” he added.
On another hand, Lotfi Ben Jeddou said a Tunisian-Libyan committee responsible for monitoring the case of the two Tunisian journalists abducted in Libya will be created on February 15, 2015, assuring that the two journalists “are still alive.”

[IsraelTimes] Alleged incident comes days after Cairo declares Islamist group a terrorist organization
Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, accused Egypt's army of firing at Paleostinian security outposts in the Gazoo Strip Tuesday, just days after Cairo declared the Islamist movement's military wing a terrorist group.
Gazoo's Hamas-run interior ministry condemned "the Egyptian army for firing this morning directly at two positions along the southern Gazoo border."
"It was without justification, and there had been no incursion from the Paleostinian side" of the tiny coastal strip, which borders Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
The statement, which did not refer to any casualties, called for an immediate investigation into the incident.
It's all very odd. Thank goodness Ynet adds some key information:
Egyptian security forces fired at two Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, posts in the Gazoo Strip, near the Rafah border crossing, after a bomb aimed at the Egyptian forces went kaboom! near the border, in Egypt. No injuries were reported.

[YEMENONLINE.INFO] At least three suspected al-Qaeda bandidosbandidos bad boys were killed on Monday in a U.S. drone strike on a car in southeastern Yemen, local residents said, the third such strike in a week.
The attacks show there has been no letup in a U.S. campaign against suspected bandidosbandidos bad boys despite a power vacuum left by the resignation of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi who had publicly backed the program.
The United States regards al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula ...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000... Yemeni officials said the drone fired two missiles at the vehicle, which was travelling on a dirt road between the town of Maswara in al-Bayda province and the city of Beihan in Shabwa province in southeastern Yemen.
The strike destroyed the vehicles, killing the three people inside it. Residents reported kabooms inside the vehicle after the strike, suggesting it was carrying weapons.

[IsraelTimes] Three men, including two at-large Canadian fighters in Syria or Iraq, charged with aiding, recruiting for jihadist group
Canadian police made another arrest and announced charges against three men related to an Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... recruiting cell in Ottawa, police announced Tuesday.
The case is linked to the arrest of three men in Ottawa last month. It involves alleged recruiting for the Islamic State group and Canadian John Maguire, a fighter who appeared in an IS propaganda video overseas and who reportedly might have been killed recently.
Police announced they tossed in the calaboose Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! Awso Peshdary, 25, and charged him with participation in the activity of a terrorist group and with facilitating an activity for a terrorist group. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police also laid terrorism charges in absentia against Khadar Khalib, 23, and Maguire, 24. Both travelled to Syria or Iraq and remain on the lam.
RCMP Chief Superintendent Jennifer Strachan said while there have been recent reports saying that Maguire was killed in Syria, the RCMP has not received conclusive evidence confirming that he is deceased.
A senior police official said Peshdary, the man arrested in Ottawa, and was the subject of a prior police terror investigation but said police didn't have enough evidence to arrest him then. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak ahead of the planned announcement Tuesday. The News Agency that Dare Not be Named first released details of the arrest and charges against the three men.
Suliman Mohammed, 21, was charged last month with participating in a terrorist group. That arrest occurred just days after twin brothers linked to Mohammed, Ashton Carleton Larmond and Carlos Larmond, were charged with terrorism-related offences.
Carlos Larmond was arrested at Montreal's airport on charges of intending to travel overseas for terrorist purposes. A separate government official familiar with the matter said that the brothers were trying to get to Syria. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly, earlier confirmed the latest charges includes an arrest and also involved people who are outside Canada.
"It's a cell in Ottawa. Their focus seems to be on overseas activities, not on carrying out terrorist acts at home," the government official said.
Maguire appeared in a polished propaganda video in December urging Moslems to launch indiscriminate attacks against Canadians, similar to those carried out in October in Ottawa and St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
In October, Canada was hit by two terror attacks by so-called "lone wolves" believed to have been inspired by the Islamic State group. In Ottawa, a gunman shot and killed a soldier at Canada's National War Memorial and then stormed Parliament before being bumped off.
The attack in Ottawa came two days after a man ran over two soldiers in a parking lot in Quebec, killing one and injuring the other before being shot to death by police. The man had been under surveillance by Canadian authorities, who feared he had jihadist ambitions and seized his passport when he tried to travel to Turkey.
Canada is taking part in the US-led campaign against Islamic State murderous Moslems in Iraq and Syria.

BRUSSELS - The European Union combined a statement of solidarity with Jordan over the killing of one of its military pilots by Islamist fighters with criticism of its immediate execution of two Iraqi jihadists.
"While all efforts must be made to counter terrorism and hold the perpetrators accountable, our reaction to the threat posed by (Islamic State) needs to be consistent with our common values on justice and the rights of prisoners," foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said in a statement on Wednesday.
The EU and Jordan have few common values. For example, Jordan is willing to defend its people...
"Our action has to be guided by the respect of international human rights law and humanitarian law. The European position against death penalty remains unchanged and we believe capital punishment does not serve any deterrent purpose."
It might not deter the ISIS but there are two fewer terrorists in the world this morning...
Condemning the killing of captured F-16 pilot Mouath al-Kasaesbeh, she praised Jordan's role in the "front line in the battle" against Islamic State and taking in refugees from Syria and Iraq. On Wednesday, Jordan hanged Sajida al-Rishawi, an Iraqi woman who took part in suicide bomb attacks 10 years ago, and a senior al Qaeda prisoner, Ziyad Karboli, also an Iraqi.

The death penalty has no deterrent effect...which is why we immediately cancelled anything having to do with pictures of aunt mo or those who slander islam after the Charlie assassinations.
FNUROs.
Besides, its not about deterrent. Its about negotiating from strength, will, and national honor. Seems to be lacking a bit in the EUnich zone.

If you do not kill them, they will kill you, your grand parents, your innocent children.
The cage, the fire, the running over the pilot with a bulldozer were among thousands of ideas presented via twitter to ISIS from ISIS supporters around the world, including the EU during an ISIS twitter campaign asking for suggestions on how to murder the Jordanian.

Last time we dealt with Euro trash that behaved like this, most of the continent laid in ruin. After Malmedy Americans didn't take too many SS prisoners, they were a little slow on the uptake their Canadian brethren had learned at Normandy. Time for the spokesman and those who wrote this drivel go the the Russian ME Front for some personal upfront education of dealing with barbarians. The King was right citing Eastwood.

More denial from the EUnuch elites. They cannot complain to ISIS, so they pick on the victim countries to complain. Bloody cowards. Appeasement does not work, especially with foaming Islamists.

AMMAN -- Jordan hanged two Iraqi jihadists on Wednesday including a female militant in response to an Islamic State video showing a captured Jordanian pilot being burnt alive by the hardline group.
Islamic State had demanded the release of the woman, Sajida al-Rishawi, in exchange for a Japanese hostage whom it later beheaded. Sentenced to death for her role in a 2005 suicide bomb attack in Amman, Rishawi was executed at dawn, a security source and state television said.
Jordan, which is part of the U.S.-led alliance against Islamic State, has promised an "earth-shaking response" to the killing of its pilot, Muath al-Kasaesbeh, who was captured in December when his F-16 crashed over northeastern Syria.
Jordan also executed a senior al Qaeda prisoner, Ziyad Karboli, an Iraqi man who was sentenced to death in 2008.
Convenient that he was still around so as to be executed now, but both he and Sajida-baby should have been dealt with long before now...
The fate of Kasaesbeh, a member of a large tribe that forms the backbone of support for the country's Hashemite monarchy, has gripped Jordan for weeks and some Jordanians have criticised King Abdullah for embroiling them in the U.S.-led war that they say will provoke a militant backlash.
King Abdullah cut short an official visit to the United States on Tuesday. In a televised statement to the nation, he urged national unity and said the killing was a cowardly act of terror by a criminal group that has no relation to Islam.
There was widespread shock and anger in Jordan at the brutality of a killing that drew international condemnation.
Kasaesbeh's father said the two executions were not enough and urged the government to do more to avenge his death.
"I want the state to get revenge for my son's blood through more executions of those people who follow this criminal group that shares nothing with Islam," Safi al-Kasaesbeh told Reuters. "Jordanians are demanding that the state and coalition take revenge with even more painful blows to destroy these criminals."
The Jordanian army has vowed to avenge his death, and some analysts believe it could escalate its involvement in the campaign against Islamic State, which has seized large areas of Iraq and Syria, Jordan's neighbours to the north and east.
I think going all Saladin on the terrorists would be the Jordanian army's best response...
In the pilot's home village of Ay, mourners said Jordanians must rally around the state. "Today we put our differences behind us and rally behind the king and nation," said Jabar Sarayrah, a shopkeeper.
The prisoners were executed in Swaqa prison, 70 km (45 miles) south of Amman, just before dawn, a security source who was familiar with the case said. "They were both calm and showed no emotions and just prayed," the source added without elaborating.
Rishawi, in her mid-forties, was part of an al Qaeda network that targeted three Amman hotels in suicide bombings in 2005. She was meant to die in one of the attacks - the worst in Jordan's history - but her suicide bomb belt did not go off.
Jordan said on Tuesday the pilot had been killed a month ago. The government had been picking up intelligence for weeks that the pilot was killed some time ago, a source close to the government said. Disclosing that information appeared to be an attempt to counter domestic criticism that the government could have done more to strike a deal with Islamic State to save him.
"The horror of the killing, the method of killing is probably going to generate more short-term support for the state," said a Western diplomat. "But once that horror dies down, inevitably some of the questions revert on Jordan’s role in the coalition."
No one wrings his hands better than a Western diplomat...
The executed woman came from Iraq's Anbar province bordering Jordan. Her tribal Iraqi relatives were close aides of the slain Jordanian leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, from whose group Islamic State emerged.
Islamic State had demanded her release in exchange for the life of Japanese journalist Kenji Goto. However, Goto was beheaded by the group, video released last Saturday showed. Jordan had insisted that they would only release the woman as part of a deal to free the pilot.

"He [King Abdullah] mentioned 'Unforgiven' and he mentioned Clint Eastwood, and he actually quoted a part of the movie."
Hunter would not say which part of "Unforgiven" the king quoted, but noted it was where Eastwood's character describes how he is going to deliver his retribution. There is a scene in the picture in which Eastwood's character, William Munny, says, "Any man I see out there, I'm gonna kill him. Any son of a bitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only going to kill him, I'm going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down." - cite

There are no major roads between Jordan and the Syrian heartland of ISIS, it's all trackless howling wilderness. In order to get to them on the ground, the Jordanians would have to go through the goat-fuck chaos of greater Damascus/Daraa or the long way 'round through Anbar. This is also probably why Jordanian territory and civilians haven't been catching more hell directly from ISIS's Mad Max raiding parties.

[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian security forces arrest 15 for links to terror group; wanted Sinai Islamist leader said hiding in Gazoo
Paleostinian security forces have discovered that an Israeli Arab resident of East Jerusalem, a divorced mother of two, flew to Syria and joined the ranks of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... , senior Paleostinian sources told The Times of Israel on Tuesday.
The Arab Israeli woman is currently in Raqqa, Syria, the city that is considered the terror group's organizational hub in Iraq and Syria. Her children live in a village near Jerusalem.
The officials further said the PA has detained 15 Paleostinians in the West Bank for links to the jihadist group, and said a senior IS-linked commander from the Sinai Peninsula, who is wanted by Egypt, is hiding out in the Gazoo Strip.

A government official said the authorities would respond by executing several Islamist forces of Evil tossed in the calaboose Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! in Jordan, including an Iraqi woman who Amman had sought to swap for the pilot taken captive after his plane crashed in Syria in December.
The video, which showed a man resembling Kassasbeh standing in a black cage before being set ablaze, could not be independently verified but the reaction of the Jordanian authorities made clear they treated it as genuine.
Jordan, which has been mounting air raids in Syria as part of the U.S.-led alliance against ISIS Lion of Islams, would deliver a "strong, earth-shaking and decisive" response, a government front man said.
"The Dire Revenge will be as big as the calamity that has hit Jordan," army front man Col. Mamdouh al-Ameri said in a televised statement confirming the death of the pilot, who was seized by ISIS in December.
The fate of Kassasbeh, a member of a large tribe that forms the backbone of support for the Hashemite monarchy, has gripped Jordan for weeks and provoked rare protests against King Abdullah over the government's handling of the crisis.
The king cut short a visit to the U.S. to return home following word of Kassasbeh's death. In a televised statement, he said the pilot's killing was an act of "cowardly terror" by a deviant group that has no relation to Islam.

They cited the example of Mohammed, who burnt "apostates" to death. Can't get much more Islamic than that.

[Beirut Daily Star] ARSAL/BAALBEK, Leb: Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army pounded holy warrior hideouts along the Lebanese-Syrian border with new ferocity Tuesday, security sources said.
Hezbollah attacked holy warrior hideouts on the outskirts of the eastern town of Nahleh, with the sound of artillery echoing across the Baalbek area, the sources said.
Residents heard the sounds of heavy rocket and gunfire as they became wary of a possible holy warrior incursion.
According to security sources, Lions of Islam have reinforced their positions on the outskirts of the Lebanese border town after they engaged in heavy festivities with Hezbollah in the area last week.
Last Oct., The Nusra Front attacked two posts on the border with Syria near the Lebanese villages of Brital and Nahleh. At least eight Hezbollah fighters and 14 Lions of Islam were killed in the festivities that ensued.
Separately, the Lebanese Army shot up holy warrior positions in the outskirts of Arsal, several kilometers north of Nahle. Troops were using rockets and heavy artillery to pound holy warrior posts in Wadi al-Ayouni, Wadi al-Khayl, Khirbet Daoud, and Jabal al-Mkhayramiyeh, sources said.
The rebels have been caught in the no-man's land between the two countries since the Syrian regime and Hezbollah regained the majority of Syria's Qalamoun region last year.

Following the incident, ISIL forces of Evil have reportedly issued an order to stop recruiting Egyptian jihadists.

I wonder if Turkey will hand him over to the ISIL folks. Seems they're in cahoots, unless the 'emir' knows something we don't (or perhaps he's really not that bright).
