Hi Rantburgers, just want to say farewell, going on a bit of a medical trip. I've been following the posts for 10 years and enjoyed some of the most insightful (and entertaining) rants and snarks. Big thanks to Frank and well done to the mods. Signing out.

Let us hope that this farewell will turn out to be a just in case, and you'll be back among us soon, dear Incredulous. You don't comment much, but I always notice with pleasure when you do -- an old friend speaking up yet again. With that belief I say au revoir, not farewell, because medical miracles happen surprisingly often.
Opening up a recruiting station, branching out, little of both? Tourists? "Hey guys, just out looking for Mountain Goats." "Well you are in luck, there are two tied up by that post there. Hazif seems to like you."

PARIS -- As many as six members of a terrorist cell involved in the Paris attacks may still be at large, including a man who was seen driving a car registered to the widow of one of the gunmen, French police said Monday.
Brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi and their friend, Amedy Coulibaly, were killed Friday by police after a murderous spree at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo and a kosher supermarket. The three all claimed ties to Islamic extremists in the Middle East. Authorities were searching the Paris area for the Mini Cooper registered to Hayat Boumeddiene, Coulibaly's widow. Turkish officials say she is now in Syria.
One of the police officials said the cell consisted of about 10 members, and that "five or six could still be at large," but he did not provide their names. The other official said the cell was made up of about eight people and included Boumeddiene.
One of the other men believed to be part of the cell has been seen driving Boumeddiene's car around Paris in recent days, the two officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation with the media. They cautioned that it was not clear whether the driver was an operative, involved in logistics, or had some other, less-violent role in the cell.
One of the police officials also said Coulibaly apparently set off a car bomb Thursday in the town of Villejuif, but no one was injured and it did not receive significant media attention at the time.

PARIS -- The soldier wore green camouflage, a red beret and the serious expression of a man at war as he stood sentinel outside the heavy iron gates of a Jewish school in the heart of Paris on Monday.
Not long ago, he was fighting militants in foreign lands. But now, and for the foreseeable future, he has an assignment far closer to home: protect the hundreds of Jewish children, some as young as 2, who scampered about Monday behind walls whose Star of David etchings could make the building a prime target for attack.

Until they stop paying welfare benefits to these scumbags and start rounding up 'yoots' with warrants in the 'no-go' zones, they'll continue to have problems.

Well, you move in and make the natives work to support you. You make them adopt your customs, traditions, religion and legal system. You make their leaders subservient to you. You give them your diseases and make them fight your wars. That's a colony, right?

[IsraelTimes]. Authorities said the charities, which belonged to the radical northern branch of the Islamic Movement, were used to undermine Israeli security at the Temple Mount and inflame recent tensions between Arabs and Israel’s security forces.
Paleostinian activists were allegedly paid by the groups to visit the compound on a daily basis, taunt Jewish visitors and otherwise foment unrest at the site, according to Sherlocks from the Shin Bet and anti-corruption police unit Lahav 443.
The closures come after Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon banned the charities in December following months of legislative efforts by Israeli politicians to outlaw the radical Islamic Movement northern branch and its affiliates.
A statement issued by the Islamic Movement on Monday confirmed that three of its Nazareth offices had been shut down by Israeli officials.
The Islamic Movement’s northern branch is led by myrmidon Arab-Israeli holy man Sheikh Raed Salah, who has been convicted in Israel on a number of charges, including incitement to violence and funding Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,.
Amid the deadly terror attacks in Gay Paree last week, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman linked the northern branch of the Islamic Movement to terror groups, and urged a tougher stance on the organization and its affiliates.
“Extremist groups, which are distinguishable from terror organizations only by semantics and legal minutiae, must be dealt with preemptively,” the foreign minister said Thursday. “Those who tolerate such movements and organizations in the end pay for this [tolerance] with the blood of many innocents and with a threat to the very democracy that allowed them to function.
“Therefore, we must not dally any longer or allow the continued activities of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement headed by Sheikh Raed Salah.”

The verdict shows that the two relatives planned to plant explosives in the mall in order to kill Israeli civilians.
[ARABNEWS] A double suicide kaboom that killed eight people at a cafe in the Lebanese city of Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... was carried out by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group, the interior minister said on Sunday, contradicting a claim of responsibility by the Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front.
Nohad Machnouk also said he expected more instability linked to the Syrian civil war that has been at the heart of repeated violence in Leb over the last four years.
The Nusra Front said on Saturday it was behind the bombing in the Alawite neighborhood of Jabal Mohsen.
Machnouk said Sherlocks were questioning men who belonged to the same organization as the two bombers, both of whom have been identified as men from Tripoli.
The initial information so far says that criminal state of Daesh was the one behind the bombing, Machnouk told journalists in Tripoli, using an pejorative Arabic acronym for the group that has seized wide areas of Syria and Iraq.
Lebanese security officials have warned of plans by Islamic State and the Nusra Front to further destabilize Leb. The last major flare-up in the city, Lebs second biggest, was in October, when 11 soldiers and at least 22 gunnies were killed.
That followed an August attack by gunnies affiliated to the Nusra Front and Islamic State in Arsal. The gunnies are still holding some two dozen members of the security forces.
Machnouk said: Naturally, we expect that all the while the fire in Syria continues, the escalation will increase more and more.
Lebanese flags covered the coffins of eight victims at their funeral and leaders from across the political spectrum have called for unity, warning that the attack aimed to ignite strife.
The families of the two bombers condemned the attack. Crime has no religion, creed, neighborhood or family, a front man for the families said, adding there would be no mourning for the bombers.

[Daily Caller] It’s never been harder to question a terrorist.
In the midst of tracking where the next terror attack could strike in the West, counterterrorism experts and lawmakers say the Obama administration has made it harder to get fresh intelligence from terrorist sources.
The decision to no longer keep detainees at Guantanamo Bay; the administration’s preference for killing terrorists with drone strikes; and the practice of reading terrorists the American Miranda warning has made obtaining new intelligence very difficult, experts say.
“It’s really unbelievable that these guys say that their position is driven by humanitarian concerns,” former Assistant United States Attorney Andrew McCarthy told The Daily Caller. “The reason [the administration] drone[s] people, and I’m not saying they shouldn’t drone anybody — rather than capture — is because they’ve so screwed up detention and interrogation. And it’s cleaner for them to kill people — because when you kill them, that’s the end of the story.” Some facts regarding the roots of terrorism need no further confirmation, only denial.
