On September 20, the US Secretary of State announced that a team of FBI investigators had been in Libya for over a week; the news wasn't released earlier due to "security concerns".
In the two weeks since their arrival, the FBI team has been waiting in Tripoli, because they can't get permission to go to Benghazi. According to CNN, there's been "bureaucratic infighting" between the FBI, the Justice Department, and the US State Department.
The FBI, who "plays a critical role" in any response to major incidents abroad involving US citizens, says it works with the State Department and must obtain permission from any host country to conduct an investigation on its soil.
The FBI asked State to secure the US Consulate in Benghazi. That has not happened. Given the span of time since the attack, and the number of 'visitors', it's safe to say the site has been compromised.
The FBI has interviewed State Department and other US government personnel who were in-country at the time.
The interim Libyan government has refused FBI requests to directly interview the supposed "dozens" of individuals that government has taken into custody.
The latest reason (yesterday) for the investigators not going to Benghazi is again "security concerns", although journalists have been working without problems in the same area, even removing a document (or more) from the unsecured consulate.
The State Department and the White House have directed all questions about the investigation to the FBI.
Who, by the way, have had a team of investigators waiting in Tripoli for over two weeks...
Not the relevant question, we know where they are currently hanging out. The relevant questions are twofold; a. Who has been named to replace Steves? b. Whom is being detained by the interum Government of Libya in connection with the US Consulate attack.
"Country Clearance" and coordination for travel within Lybia befalls the office of the Chief of Mission, the Ambassador, who takes his or her orders from Secretary of State Clinton. If the FBI investigative team cannot travel to Benghazi, it is because Clinton (who takes her orders from the POTUS) has directed they NOT travel there.
The delay of FBI investigative team in raching Benghazi has gone on too long to simply be leftover actions from a measure designed to delay their investigation into what is now painfully obvious; the events at the US Consulate were the result of a terrorist act.
Meanwhile, those responsible have departed the AO (area of operations) and the trail is cold or.... they are being detained by the Lybian interum Government and the US Governement apparently has no desire to speak to them and secure statements.
The FBI and Justice Department are simply doing what they are told. I cannot believe Secretary of State Clinton would not want to bring closure, and see those responsonsible for Stevens death brought to justice. That only leave one other entity holding the bag.
The DNI was the first person to opine that what took place in Behghazi was a "terrorist act". You can take it from there.

The investigation is operating as planned; the PLAN is to be sure and not find out anything that might embarass the White House until half past November. Preferably never.

Immediately the Obama Regime said they would send the FBI to investigate and 50 marines to go after the "rioters".
1) A few days later it was CNN who found the Ambassador's diary on the floor of the crime scene.
2) It was the people of Benghazi who after several days of protesting, went to the militia locations publicaly known to the whole city and ran off Al Qaeda.
The real question is, when it comes to the Obama regime, where is the TRUTH! Now THAT is the REAL security issue facing America.

None of the initial explanations offered by the White House and State Department since the assault on the Benghazi consulate has held up.
Imagine the uproar if, barely a month before Election Day, the Bush Administration had responded to a terrorist strikeon Sept. 11 no lessin this fashion. Obfuscating about what happened. Refusing to acknowledge that clear security warnings were apparently ignored. Then trying to shoot the messengers who bring these inconvenient truths to light in order to talk about anything but a stunning and deadly attack on U.S. sovereign territory.

Cell phone video footage and witness testimony from Benghazi soon undercut the Administration trope of an angry march "hijacked" by a few bad people.
Dozens of frantic INMARSAT calls from observers and the wounded and dying during the conulate attack, punchated with blasts and machinegun fire probably didn't help either.

On Friday, March 30, 2012, Hisham Y. Altalib visited the White House. According to visitor logs, Altalib was received by Joshua DuBois, the director of President Obama's Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Four days later, White House officials welcomed a foreign delegation of the radical Sharia-enforcing Muslim Brotherhood from Egypt.
The White House meeting with overseas Muslim Brotherhood leaders was reported in April by a few mainstream journalists and questioned loudly by conservative media. But the White House confab in March with U.S.-based Altalib -- which appears to be a prep session with the global Muslim Brotherhood's American advance team -- has received no attention until now.
So, who is Hisham Yahya Altalib? What is his agenda?
And why exactly did the Obama administration conduct domestic "faith-based" outreach in Virginia with this Muslim Brotherhood figure who just happens to be 1) tied to bloody jihad and 2) a major contributor to the left-wing Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), the group of jihadi-sympathizing lawyers who helped spring suspected Benghazi terror plotter Abu Sufian bin Qumu from Gitmo?
Altalib is an Iraqi-born Muslim identified by the FBI as a Muslim Brotherhood operative before he moved to America in the 1970s to earn an advanced electrical-engineering degree from Purdue University in Indiana. By his own account, Altalib "soon became active in Islamic work in North America, which continues to this day."
He was the "first full-time director of the Leadership Training Department of the Muslim Students Association of the United States and Canada (MSA)" -- a longtime Muslim Brotherhood front group whose explicit goal is to "conquer" America through Islamic propagandizing.
Altalib is also a founding member of the SAAR Foundation and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT). Last year, his online biography proudly notes, he was "awarded the ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) Community Service Award." The Saudi-subsidized ISNA is regarded as the primary U.S. umbrella group for Muslim Brotherhood fronts and was named specifically by the global MB godfathers as a key player in their "Grand Jihad" strategy of infiltration from within.
SAAR was founded in Herndon, Va., in 1983 as part of a radical Islamic charity front, called the SAFA Group, for Saudi financiers. The feds raided SAAR's offices in 2002 as part of Operation Green Quest. Investigators confiscated 500 boxes and seven trucks' worth of documents illuminating the network's terror ties to the Al Taqwa Bank (a Swiss-based Muslim bank suspected of funding the 9/11 plot) and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Altalib worked for one of Al Taqwa Bank's main owners, Youssef Nada. Altalib's more prominent Muslim Brotherhood partner, Jamal Barzinji (one of the champions of the Ground Zero mosque), also worked for Nada. FBI and Customs officials believe SAAR/SAFA laundered money for a plethora of violent Muslim terrorist groups, from Hamas and Hezbollah to al-Qaida and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Along with several other leaders of the "Ikhwan" (brothers), Altalib and Barzinji established the International Institute of Islamic Thought in Herndon, Va., in 1985. Global Muslim Brotherhood thug Yusuf al-Qaradawi -- the fire-breathing, fatwa-issuing Jew-hater and violent-jihad proselytizer -- inspired IIIT's mission: the "Islamization of social sciences."
According to Steven Merley of the Hudson Institute's Center on Islam, Democracy, and the Future of the Muslim World, IIIT has 14 affiliated offices across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy, who put 1993 World Trade Center bombing mastermind Omar Abdel Rahman behind bars, notes that IIIT was a demonstrated unindicted co-conspirator in the feds' Holy Land Foundation terror financing case. IIIT supported convicted terror aides Sami Al-Arian and Abdel Rahman Alamoudi.
Altalib, Barzinji, and IIIT were also all listed in funding statements from the Center for Constitutional Rights as major donors giving in the $25,00-to-$49,000 range.
CCR is the umbrella group that provides more than 500 pro bono lawyers to Gitmo detainees. They have regularly dismissed national-security concerns about Gitmo recidivism as "irresponsible ... scare stories." That's exactly what they did after one of CCR's clients, Libyan terror leader Abu Sufian bin Qumu, was sprung in 2007.
Fast-forward five short years. Qumu is now the lead suspect in the 9/11/12 attack on our U.S. consulate in Benghazi that resulted in the murders of U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens, consular official Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs/private security contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. In the wake of this month's terrorist attacks on our Egyptian embassy, Libyan consulate, and Afghan air base, the jihad helpers at CCR are stone silent.
This administration's idea of domestic "faith-based outreach" is tea with Muslim Brotherhood community organizers who have embedded themselves in American life for four decades with the express intent of "eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within." Meanwhile, our commander in chief is squawking to the world about YouTube videos. The Ikhwan are laughing their bloodstained robes off.
DuBois heads the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, and also oversees the Centers for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships in each executive agency.
The office acts as a liaison between faith and secular community groups and the White House, often partnering with them to tackle social issues. It also helps these groups apply for federal grants available to them.

The Pak president, as expected, raised the issue at the UN forum, calling for criminalising such provocative acts by mischievous individuals.

Mr Obama urged the people to reject hate material, but quite rightly added that the death and destruction that such rejection led to could not be justified.
The gap has widened over time when it comes to America's love-hate affair with a number of Moslem countries. The Moslem world's connection with the West is jeopardised by a host of serious problems, including doubts rooted in a past that has spawned suspicions about American motives now. The countries in question have failed to evolve the necessary common language, based on the cultural and religious sensitivities of people on both sides, to address each other. Ever since 9/11 and more particularly the invasion of Iraq in 2003, these sensitivities have become more acute and have reached a point where the nightmare of a clash of civilisations may well turn out to be true if restraint and understanding are not shown at this stage. In looking after its own interests, the US has often adopted an actively aggressive path, with no consideration for the sentiments of the larger public in countries where it has either intervened militarily or interfered in domestic politics.
At the same time, the leadership in many of the Moslem countries, has failed to educate the population about the dangers of accepting the thug narrative. In the current crisis they have been unable to convince their people that by reacting to provocative acts of individuals they are only deepening the divide. Though perceived as a powerless body, the United Nations ...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly... still remains the right forum for raising issues of cultural and religious differences and for giving room to voices from all over. Without such a debate and interaction between countries, the chasm between the West and the Moslem world will only grow.

This argument suggests that successfully countering insurgencies in weak and failed states such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and a number of African nations will nearly always be doomed to failure. This position is buttressed by the high rate of pre-existing mental disorder among the populations of failed states. Said another way, the main effort of the counterinsurgencyâthe host nation government and security forceâas well as the population, whose allegiance the counterinsurgent seeks, are both beset by mental disorder.
Central to this argument is the assertion that a nexus exists between weak and failed states, insurgencies and the prevalence of mental disorders. This paper focuses on two: Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Major Depressive Disorder (depression). Furthermore, this nexus is such that, each of the three characteristics can drive changes in the others. For example, as a state becomes increasingly weak and failed, the likelihood of insurgency increases. As insurgencies and the trauma associated with them intensify, the rates of mental disorder among the population will also increase. As rates of mental disorder increase, the likelihood increases that a state will remain in its failed status. It is difficult to break free from this âstickyâ situation.
This article examines the nexus between weak and failed states, insurgencies and prevalence of mental disorder; the impact of mental disorders on the individual and society; and the interaction between mental disorders and the use of military force. Finally, recommendations will be offered for senior leader consideration.
