We don't trample the livelihood of those we're trying to win over.'
Maybe we have another two years before we have to address this again. I am glad common sense prevails.
[Quqnoos] A delegation representing Hizb-e Islami of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar is in Kabul for peace talks with the Afghan government, an official said
A peace deal between Kabul and Hizb-e Islami, Afghansitan's second-largest insurgent group, possibly mark the biggest split in insurgent ranks since 2001.
The five-member delegation of Hezb-i-Islami, a movement led by warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, has already arrived in Kabul, said the group's spokesman Haroon Zarghoon, who is based in Pakistan.
The delegates plan to meet President Hamid Karzai, US officials and others "to discuss Hezb-i-Islami's agenda on how to bring durable peace to Afghanistan," Zarghoon told The Wall Street Journal.
The delegation was headed by Qutbuddin Helal, a former prime minister and deputy to the group's leader, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the official told WSJ.
Hezb-e Islami of Gulbuddin has carried out hunderds of attacks on Afghan and foreing troops over the past eight years from its strongholds in east and northern Afghaistan.

I presume he hasnt been targeted but underlings in his organsiation have , due to the fact that he has a pretty much absolute control over his infrastructure and thus becomes a serious player (sadly) in the 'peace' process. Hes been around for a long time and has switched sides on numerous occasions to suit his rather muirderous habits. Alas the conundrum is that peace wont occur till this wad of faeces comes to the table .
Wack him after a disjointed peace has been made I reckon , then dismantle his organisation

[Maghrebia] Algerian security services killed three terrorists on Sunday (March 21st) in a sweep operation near Tebessa. The three men were among the first to join the GIA in 1992-1994 and were sentenced to death in absentia in 2008 by the court of Tebessa, local press reported. According to L'Expression, their particular group murdered a dozen people in 2007, including two families and a brigadier of the gendarmerie.

[Al Arabiya Latest] Bahrain on Monday sacked a state minister after he was accused of links to a domestic and international money laundering network suspected of working for Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard.
The Gulf state's ruler, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa, issued a decree relieving Minister of State Mansoor bin Rajab of his official duties as of Tuesday.
It is the first time since Bahrain gained independence from Britain in 1971 that such a high-ranking minister has lost his post and faced prosecution for alleged criminal and corruption charges.
Bin Rajab, 55, was briefly detained by authorities for questioning last week. His home and offices were also searched.
The decision came at a time when judicial investigations in both Bahrain and Kuwait were underway to uncover details of a money laundering network suspected of working for Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
The United States in late 2007 designated the guard as a foreign terrorist organization, cutting off Iranian companies and individuals from the U.S. financial system. The Iranian military forces since then have been suspected of laundering money from "opium" sales to cover its covert operations in the Middle East.
Bin Rajab earlier said he was summoned by the interior ministry for questioning, the Gulf Daily News newspaper reported.
"The Criminal Investigation Directorate summoned me to answer questions about myself and some employees in my ministry," Bin Rajab was quoted as saying, adding he had not been arrested.
"An official has been detained on charges of committing money laundering transactions domestically and abroad," according to a statement which said the official was arrested late last week and his file transferred to prosecutors.
"The ministry (of interior) noticed the events in early 2009, and therefore monitored the official's activities, meetings and communications closely and secretly," it added, without saying how much money was involved.
The police statement did not name the official but local media identified him as Mansour bin Rajab, a state minister without portfolio who was released for health reasons after questioning.
Bahrain, which hosts the headquarters of anti-money laundering watchdog MENA FATF, issued an anti-money laundering law in 2001 but until now there had been no such high-profile investigations or arrests among senior officials.

Ok, Bahrain sacks him...then releases him for "health reasons". And they don't freeze his assets either. Why not? Because Bahrain's Constitutional Court says freezing assets is unconstitutional!
I don't see anything at this point that would prevent bin Rajab from continue laundering money to Iran.

It's a lot harder to launder the kind of funds that were no doubt passing through his hands when one hasn't the entire apparatus of a state department to work with, Oscar. And Mr. bin Rajab still has a criminal trial in his near future, according to the article, which should keep him busy enough for a while.

[Iran Press TV Latest] North Korea has said it will put an American citizen on trial for illegally entering the country earlier this year.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Monday identified the man as Aijalon Mahli Gomes, a 30-year-old from Boston. "His crime has been confirmed," KCNA news agency said without elaborating.
Pyongyang had previously announced that it was holding an unidentified American for entering the north illegally on January 25. The State Department said last week that North Korea had allowed a Swedish diplomat to visit the detainee. The Swedish Embassy in Pyongyang represents the US interests in the country.

Kanu Sanyal, one of the founders of the Naxalite movement of the 1960s in West Bengal, committed suicide on Tuesday.
The police said Sanyal, 81, probably killed himself but left no suicide note. Dada used to take a nap after lunch. Today, when I went to see if he was sleeping, I found him hanging,' said Shanti Munda, who was associated with Sanyal for
55 years.
Sanyal and Charu Mazumdar led a militant peasant uprising in Naxalbari in 1967 and broke away from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) two years later to form the CPI (Marxist-Leninist). The CPI(ML) inspired the formation of various Maoist groups across the country.
Sanyal differed with Mazumdar's line of class annihilation to create a proletarian society. He believed in building mass organisations to lead the struggle against the Indian state.
Over the years, Sanyal had become disenchanted with the violence resorted to by Maoists.

Hyderabad is a major technological centre in India for telecom. It is in the center part of India, not in the north. If Jihad is forming there then India is in trouble.
#4
When I visited Hyderabad a decade ago they had riots in the Old city. I got the impression the Old City was very Muslim and never assimilated. The presences of massive and very cool ruins of Gul Cunda (Spelling?) fort probably makes things worse as it reminds them on a daily basis that Muslims once ran things.

The Indians tried to solve their muzzie problem by allowing the creation of Pakistan. India activly encouraged Indian muzzies to emigrate to Pakistan and many did. India only works if there is at least a 70% Hindu majority. Too many muzzies always results in increased violence.

Recently I was introduced to a book called Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat. In it Dr Peter Hammond has some interesting things to say about the current strategy of the Islamic world to dominate countries with its radical religion.
He briefly takes us on a tour to see what happens to the host nation as the population of Muslim members increases from 2% to 100%
Here are a few exerts.
Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life.
Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.
Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges.
When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally divers e societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as we ll. Heres how it works.
As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:
United States Muslim 0.6%
Australia Muslim 1.5%
Canada Muslim 1.9%
China Muslim 1.8%
Italy Muslim 1.5%
Norway Muslim 1.8%
At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:
Denmark Muslim 2%
Germany Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom Muslim 2.7%
Spain Muslim 4%
Thailand Muslim 4.6%
From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:
France Muslim 8%
Philippines Muslim 5%
Sweden Muslim 5%
Switzerland Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago Muslim 5.8%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.
When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films ab out Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections, in:
Guyana Muslim 10%
India Muslim 13.4%
Israel Muslim 16%
Kenya Muslim 10%
Russia Muslim 15%
After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:
Ethiopia Muslim 32.8%
At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:
Bosnia&nbs p; Muslim 40%
Chad Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon Muslim 59.7%
From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:
Albania Muslim 70%
Malaysia Muslim 60.4%
Qatar Muslim 77.5%
Sudan Muslim 70%
After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:
Bangladesh Muslim 83%
Egypt Muslim 90%
Gaza Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia Muslim 86.1%
Iran Muslim 98%
Iraq< Muslim 97%
Jordan Muslim 92%
Morocco Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan Muslim 97%
Palestine Muslim 99%
Syria Muslim 90%
Tajikistan Muslim 90%
Turkey Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates Muslim 96%
100% will usher in the peace of Dar-es-Salaam the Islamic House of Peace. Here theres supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:
Afghanistan Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia Muslim 100%
Somalia Muslim 100%
Yemen Muslim 100%
Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.
Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; the tribe against the world, and all of us against the infidel. Leon Uris, The Haj
It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts nor schools nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.
Todays 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the worlds population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, and Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the worlds population by the end of this century.

I don't know... birth rates are falling drastically in Third World countries, including the Muslim world. Within the Palestinian territories alone I understand that the population numbers are short by about 1 million of the number the authorities claim -- due entirely to birthrate separate from violent death or out-migration. See this dramatic representation of birth rates and life expectancies around the world. And there is also quiet out-conversion and general apostasy from Islam, some quoting numbers like 6 million per year although I've no idea how accurate that it, and the much higher level of violence resulting in death in the Muslim world.
Finally, in Israel at least the Jews from the Muslim world have a birth rate comparable to the Muslims in the countries they came from, as do the Christians in sub-Saharan Africa. In the Western world the birth rate differential is still real at this point, particularly in Europe, but Europeans were busy depopulating themselves long before there was an issue with Muslim subpopulations.

Cool theory, bro, but not backed up with what I've seen and experienced.
For example, Albania. I have spent a significant amount of time in the country, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN IN A EUROPEAN COUNTRY THAT IS MORE PRO-U.S., and pro-West. Not one. There are friggin' American, and NATO flags flying on virtually every block.
If you are an American in Albania, you are treated like a rock star. And the Albanian I questioned about it where visibly pained about some of the jihad shenanigans in Bosnia and Kosovo.
If I had to live in an Arab country (and believe me, I have no desire - (shakes magic 8-ball) it would be Morocco.
It's easy to slot Muslim countries like NCAA basketball seeds, but the truth is a lot more complicated.

sorry mizzou ...not my theory.

And maybe your experience in Albania is different than the esteemed Doctor author.
My experiences living in 2 Asian and 1 middle eastern country seems about right with his assertions.
Glad to find out Albania likes us!

This article brings to mind something the wife of the owner of my local Indian foods shop told me about her last visit back home to Bombay (I think) a few years ago. As a young girl she'd loved going to the Muslim section to poke around in the shops and talk to the people there. But this time, the television was full of Muslim religious shows advising the viewers not to befriend the perfidous Hindu kufrs, and when she went to her favourite shops the atmosphere made her very uncomfortable indeed.

[Dawn] Police officials have arrested two suspected terrorists from the Federal Capital and recovered a suicide jacket in their possession. Three others were arrested based on the information provided by the two captured suspects.
The suspects, Noor Jehan and Rehmat Gul, belong to the Qari Hussain Group based in Laddah, Orakzai Agency.
Acting Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Bani Amin said that the arrested terrorist, Noor Jehan was a former employee of the Frontier Constabulary.
Jehan was kidnapped by the militants in 2007 and was kept in detention for twenty five days where he was brain-washed.
He joined duty after being released and was transferred to Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad, where he ran away with his FC uniform. The FC uniform was later used as a disguise to transport suicide jackets to Islamabad.
Noor Jehan and his accomplices carried out reconnaissance of the World Food Program (WFP) office and other targets in Islamabad. Later on, he launched suicide bombers at the WFP office and Naval Headquarters Gate in 2009.
Amin said they also revealed their future plans during the interrogation. They were planning to target Serena Hotel, District Courts, French Club, Police 15 office and other important government installations.
Including, a plot to kidnap the Jordanian Ambassador from Islamabad.

Many terrorist organizations, including Hamas, are using their children's websites in order to recruit girls for terrorist activities. This is part of an increasing trend adopted by terrorist organizations and fundamentalist Islamic groups that are using the Internet with a focus on targeting women. This has been shown in a new study by a University of Haifa expert on terrorism on the Internet. "Terrorist organizations' use of female suicide terrorists is on the rise, and it is directly reflected in the constant upsurge in websites dedicated to female terrorists,"
