[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A man has been arrested in connection with a series of shootings that have killed at least six people, injured two police officers and may have extended across multiple cities.
Shane James, 34, was booked in Travis County Jail in the early hours of Wednesday on four counts of capital murder as well as three other out of jurisdiction crimes that are not specified.
The first reported incident occurred just before 11 a.m. at a high school in the Texas capital, where James allegedly shot an Austin Independent School District police officer.
Shortly after that, authorities believe that he shot and killed a man and a woman at a home in the southern part of the city.
At 5pm, a male cyclist was shot, also in the southern part of the city. That shooting was also linked to James. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Two hours later, a second Austin police officer was wounded by the suspect when someone called 911 to report a burglary in a home in the southwestern part of the city. That prompted a high-speed chase which resulted in James being arrested. When officers returned to that home, they found two more people dead inside.
By Tuesday night, officials announced that the same suspect was involved in the 'grisly' murder of a couple in their 50s whose bodies were found stuffed in a small bedroom in San Antonio, some 80 miles from Austin.
The gunman came to the attention of officers when he shot a school resource officer in the leg close to the football field of Northeast Early College High School just before noon. This prompted a school lockdown which lasted for four hours.
Less than an hour later, the gunman went to a home in South Austin and shot a handyman who was sitting in a car. The suspect shot through the window.
After the gunfire broke out, a woman came outside who was then chased by the gunman down the street. He caught her, and killed her, Fox Austin report.
The suspect returned to the handyman's car, threw his body to the pavement, and stole the vehicle.
The next incident occurred around 5pm when a cyclist was shot and wounded. He was rushed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers caught up with the gunman after receiving reports of a burglary at the Austral Loop in the southwest part of Austin just before 7pm. The gunman shot and injured a second Austin police officer before fleeing. The officer's injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A 12-year-veteran office shot at the suspect but didn't hit him. She has been placed on administrative leave, as per protocol. The suspect fled the scene and left police on a high-speed chase. The chase ended after around 15 minutes with the suspect crashing his car at the intersection of State Highway 45 and FM 1826.
He was armed when police arrested him. Investigators discovered that the suspect had a warrant out for causing injury to a family member.
When police returned to the home where the burglary had been reported, they found the bodies of two more people.

[SUDANTRIBUNE] At least 5,178 suspected cases of cholera, including 161 associated deaths were reported from 46 localities of nine states as of December 2, figures from Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... ’s Health ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO) show.
War-torn Sudan first declared an outbreak of Cholera in Gedaref on September 26. The disease had now spread to 46 localities in Aj Jazirah, Blue Nile, Gedaref, Kassala, Khartoum, Red Sea, Sennar, South Kordofan and White Nile states as of November 28.
"To date, there are 1,808 suspected cases of cholera and 48 associated deaths in Gedaref; 1,345 suspected cases and 23 associated deaths in Aj Jazirah; 684 suspected cases and 28 associated deaths in Red Sea; 463 suspected cases and 26 associated deaths in Khartoum; 346 suspected cases and eight associated deaths in South Kordofan; 399 suspected cases and 22 associated deaths in White Nile; 69 suspected cases and three associated deaths in Sennar; 63 suspected cases and three associated deaths in Kassala; and one suspected case in Blue Nile," latest WHO figures indicate.
However, if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... following the declaration of a cholera outbreak, WHO, the UN Children’s Agency (UNICEF) and partners activated an inter-agency multi-cluster Cholera Action Plan and established national and state public health emergency operation centres.
The outbreak response, in collaboration with the Health ministry, is organized by pillars of coordination, disease surveillance, laboratory, case management, water, sanitation and hygiene supplies, risk communication and community engagement, among others.
Surveillance is ongoing in affected and high-risk areas to identify and address risk factors.
According to health authorities, oral cholera vaccination campaigns have been organised in Gedaref and Aj Jazirah states reaching 98 per cent of the targeted 2.2 million people.

Abdel Aziz was succeeded in 2019 by a political ally, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, who remains president, but Abdel Aziz's government quickly came under scrutiny over actions including deals on offshore oil projects. (Now which oil company bribed Aziz is still unclear.)
[AFRICANEWS] The Sierra Leonean government announced on Monday 43 new arrests in connection with the November 26 coup attempt, bringing to 57 the number of people arrested since these events, the vast majority of them military personnel.
The latest figures published, on November 28, showed 14 people arrested, including 13 soldiers and one civilian.
"Fifty-seven people have been arrested since the failed coup," including 43 during the last weekend, declared the deputy minister in charge of Information, Yusuf Keketoma Sandi, on state radio, without specifying the location and circumstances of these arrests.
These 57 people are 37 soldiers, 10 civilians, four soldiers dismissed from the army, five active coppers and one retired, detailed Mr. Sandi. The names of the leaders of the coup have not been disclosed.
Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio promised on Saturday that the response to the events would be dictated by "respect for the law".
In the early hours of November 26, men attacked a military armoury, two other barracks, two prisons and two cop shoppes, and clashed with security forces at gunpoint.
The fighting left 21 dead: 14 soldiers, a police officer, a prison guard, a security guard, a woman and three attackers, according to Information Minister Chernor Bah.

Wow at our backdoor so to speak, and the LSD's have exported much of our Military and supplies worldwide.
Plus, tied Civilian & NG hands in being a Homeland Defense Force by clamping down on Ammo supplies and Firearms.
Note: Some older readers here might remember the reason Japan never considered physically invading the USA in 1932-41 was the well armed civilian population.

I wouldn't sweat it. We've been patting Maduro on the head to get oil, and I'm not sure that even the Biden Administration is stupid enough to risk pi$$ing him off enough to close the taps just before Christmas.
We're going to sit down with the Guyanans and explain that things are going to be different now, and they should sit back and let it happen.

We often hear people talk about national divorce. Let them have California, they say. Like that will stop them. You have to understand that the cancer DOES NOT stop growing. It is what it does. Guyana is a great example. The Left will find a way to make you miserable, find a way to bring you into their rot, regardless. They will eye your pockets with envy. They will not leave us alone, it is not who they are.

[REGNUM] By Monday, the National Electoral Council of Venezuela released ballot with the primary results of the national referendum on the territorial affiliation of the Guyana-Essequibo region - the western part of neighboring Guyana (in the relatively recent past - a British colony). The region has been the subject of debate and disagreement on this side of the globe for many years. The referendum is interesting because it not only forced the Russian public to talk about a certain “Venezuelan analogue of the Northern Military District,” “Latin American Kosovo” or “Bolivarian Crimea,” but also because the subject of its attention is the opinion of Venezuelans living - forgive the tautology - in Venezuela , and not at all those who are located in the territory of Guyana-Essequibo.
[ReMix via ZERO] Germany’s Welt newspaper, perhaps the most popular publication in the country, is well known for its pro-Ukraine stance and ran numerous articles in the past about the likely success of Ukraine’s military offensive against Russia.
However, in a column published yesterday by the paper’s chief correspondent, Sascha Lehnartz, the assessment of Ukraine’s chances in the war is decidedly bleak.
[Breitbart] Communist dictator Kim Jong-un cried while delivering remarks this week to North Korea’s “national conference of mothers,” urging women across the country to help with “stopping the declining birth rate” and reminding mothers of their government requirement to “become communist.”
“First of all, mothers themselves should become communist mothers who have noble and beautiful moral qualities,” Kim said in an address to the “conference of mothers” on Tuesday. “Unless a mother becomes a communist, it is impossible for her to bring up her sons and daughters as communists and transform the members of her family into revolutionaries.”
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the flagship propaganda outlet of the communist Kim regime, published two separate speeches by Kim at the conference, one on Sunday and one on Tuesday. Both emphasized that the impoverished, brutal authoritarian regime required mothers to indoctrinate their children into communism and women generally to have many children. Kim’s remarks acknowledging a decreasing birth rate made headlines in South Korea, as the secretive regime often ignores its many internal problems and instead focuses on demonizing South Korea and America.
Kim’s appearance at the conference was also notable as state media aired footage of Kim crying while addressing the mothers.
North Korea is believed to have one of the lowest fertility rates in the world, hovering around 1.8 children per woman. The average believed to be necessary for “replacement fertility,” or the creation of enough babies to maintain a stable population, is 2.1 children per woman. The world’s lowest fertility rate, however, belongs to South Korea, where government statistics showed that the birth rate stood at around 0.70 in the past quarter, a record low.

Back in the early 1990s, I was told by a Samsung executive wife that in addition to an engagement ring, the man had to gift his future wife with three sets of jewelry — gold, silver (or white gold or platinum), and pearls — presumably so she would start married life with suitable accessories. Possibly wives of less ambitious men were/are less expensive to marry, but that’s still a big expense for a young man at the early stage of his career.
[Washington Examiner] Seafood restaurant chain Red Lobster has raised the price of its endless shrimp offer due to acquiring an $11 million operating loss.
The loss that Red Lobster underwent in its third quarter was due in part to its iconic endless shrimp offer, which only cost $20. The price has been raised to $25 to help minimize losses, according to a report.
"The proportion of the people selecting this promotion was much higher compared to expectation," said Ludovic Garnier, chief financial officer of Thai Union Group, Red Lobster's parent company.
The $20 endless shrimp offer was intended to win over new customers, and while the strategy worked, it was not as effective as the chain had hoped.

I had it recently and I suspect the waiter keeps away so that you can't get more than 1 or 2 additional servings as it is. And he waited 45 minutes to even bring the second one. Pretty much said we're not going back from how slow things were and they were NOT busy.

...Insofar as it matters, Red Lobster - at least the ones in Sumter and Columbia - are vaguely fish-flavored breading with grease. I do better with better quality at one of the Chinese buffets here.

I mean, really? An offer on shrimp contributed "in part" to an $11 operating loss? O.k., if they say so.
Sounds like a lot, and I'd imagine there are other factors.
Remember that gal who slurped up three trays of oysters in 10 minutes? When the dude walked out the back? Imagine her and her three friends, and there is no hiding from them as two hunt for service and two make a scene. And when they've had enough, just walk out without paying. Oh, and go ahead and deny them service next time and see what happens.
Say those four consume $50 worth of product each, that being a medium size shrimp, condiments, delivery, prep, server wages, and built in building maintenance and taxes, costs etc. And, don't even make back the $20 each from the ticket.
I'd go with over in the Expenses, Endless Shrimp was probably the most PC line to focus cause. Like Target and 'lower profit margins'.
*funny that, these corporations blaming loses and closures on 'lower profit margins', then Brandon is all like prices are high so you companies need to lower your prices. Literally calling for even lower profit margins.
[FoxNews] 'We simply cannot trust those who pledge allegiance to a hostile foreign power,' the governors warn
Seventeen governors are calling on federal leaders, including President Biden, to prevent foreign adversaries like China from buying U.S. land, Fox News Digital has learned.
Republican Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is leading a letter, with 16 of her fellow GOP governors, to Biden, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and congressional leaders in both chambers to tackle the growing issue of China buying American land, including farmland.
"Numerous governors and state legislatures have taken action to protect our citizens from the imminent national security threat of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)," the governors wrote.
"But national security demands a national response from national leaders," they continued. "The responsibility is now with you – follow the lead of our States and prevent CCP amassing of American lands."
The governors noted that it "is no secret the communist regime in China is acquiring swaths of real property throughout the United States" and that very recently, a subsidiary of a Chinese-controlled company "bought two hundred and seventy acres of land in Green Charter Township, Michigan, not far from the Camp Grayling National Guard facility."
"Unfortunately, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States declined to block – or even review – this plainly alarming transaction," the governors wrote.
The Republican state executives said that "states have stepped into the breach to protect this country’s most valued resource" – the American people – while the Biden administration "has failed to address the threat at hand."
The leaders also noted that "a bipartisan group of eleven states" enacted "foreign ownership laws" and that Arkansas "became the first state in the country to act under such a law" by ordering Syngenta Seeds – an agricultural company owned by the China National Chemical Corporation, or ChemChina – to divest 160 acres of land in the Diamond State.
"For too long, we have allowed dangerous and adversarial governments to infiltrate our country. Our States will tolerate such allowances no longer. The Biden Administration must reckon with the fact that such entities are plain threats to our national security, our farmers, and our citizenry."
"This is especially true since the CCP enacted a law in 2017 requiring Chinese citizens abroad to collaborate with Chinese security officials on intelligence work – no questions asked," the governors warned.
The governors said they "are heartened to see some in Congress advance legislation which would mitigate this threat" and encouraged "Congressional action to codify our stance into federal law."
The Republicans also urged the Biden administration "to use all available tools to prevent the continued acquisition of American lands by adversarial foreign governments" until Congress passes legislation addressing the growing issue.
"This is not about where anyone is from. Our states welcome Chinese Americans and anyone else who has escaped foreign oppression for American freedom," the governors wrote. "This is about where your loyalties lie."
"We simply cannot trust those who pledge allegiance to a hostile foreign power," the governors warned.
The letter was sent to Biden and Yellen, as well as House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House, Treasury and the offices of Johnson, Jeffries, Schumer and McConnell for comment.
Joining Sanders on the letter are Republican Governors Ron DeSantis of Florida, Brian Kemp of Georgia, Brad Little of Idaho, Kim Reynolds of Iowa, Governor-elect Jeff Landry of Louisiana, Greg Gianforte of Montana, Jim Pillen of Nebraska, Doug Burgum of North Dakota, Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, Henry McMaster of South Carolina, Kristi Noem of South Dakota, Bill Lee of Tennessee, Greg Abbott of Texas, Glenn Youngkin of Virginia, Jim Justice of West Virginia, and Mark Gordon of Wyoming.
The governors' letter comes as Americans' attitudes toward China sour.
The number of Americans who view China as an "enemy" of the U.S. is growing, while a majority support a buildup of American military personnel to deter a potential invasion of Taiwan, the annual Reagan National Defense Survey has found.
According to the survey, 77% of Americans view China as an enemy, while just 15% view the nation as an ally. That number is a drastic change from 2018, when the survey found 38% of Americans viewed China as an ally, and 55% as an enemy.
A majority of Americans (51%) also view China as the greatest threat facing the nation, up from 43% last year and 21% in 2018. Meanwhile, the number of those viewing Russia as the greatest threat is falling, with just 24% viewing the nation as such, down from 31% last year following its invasion of Ukraine.
