[Al Jazeera] Michael Cohen admits to making false statements in 2017 about plan to build Trump Tower in Moscow.
Among other lies, Cohen said on Thursday he told Congress that all discussions of the Moscow Trump Tower project ended by January 2016, when they had actually continued until June of that year.
Cohen also said that in the statement to Congress, he claimed to have had limited contact with Trump concerning the project, when in fact it had been "more extensive".
Cohen added that he falsely told Congress he never took any steps towards travelling to Russia, when in fact he had discussed travelling there, although he never did.

Well, Jack, about half the American population wants to be lied to. All they want is power and free stuff. They don't care. It's all just a rationale for them to steal.
As to Mr. Cohen, let him be the baseline for all the Deep State government personnel who've lied to Congress. Now there's a endless special prosecutor's job.

That's the problem, though. Cohen's lied to so many people so many times that it's hard to believe him at all, even if he says he's guilty.
(I'd like to see some corroboration here. Anything.)

Not that I have any doubt he's guilty.
(The man's a handy tool, the kind that somebody [like Trump] keeps around so he doesn't have clean out his own drains.)

I'm not saying it's O.K. but how often has the government lied to the people (especially during the last administration)? Benghazi, F&F, IRS, Obamacare, email scandals, phony foundations, Libya, Syria, election fraud, and on and on. They lie when they don't have to but usually its for self-enrichment and power. The people in Washington have long ago ceased to represent the people who elected them.

In the future all politicians and lawyers will "take a Mueller" that is plead the fifth to avoid incriminating themselves by accident because special prosecutors are on a hunting expedition.
[CBS8] At the post-visit news conference, Newsom called on the city of San Diego and San Diego and Imperial counties to do more to support immigrants illegally coming to the U.S., rather than just simply responding to the influx. No, Newsom. None of this was my idea so I refuse to accept any responsibility for it. As far as I'm concerned, they can help themselves by going home. If you wanna do more you can call on your wealthy benefactors in San Francisco. But if an invading army finds the weather inconvenient, then I am grateful for the weather.
Maybe this article belongs under Non-WOT but I put it under Seedy Politicians because it features our governor-elect Gavin Newsom who is about as seedy as they come.

I like the way he showed up after the bulk of the caravan folks started heading south again.

No. Encouraging foreigners to invade your country is treason. If Trump really had a spine, Gav would be up against a wall being offered a blindfold while the flamethrowers heat up.
Google employees debated whether to bury The Daily Caller and other conservative media outlets in the company's search function as a response to President Donald Trump's election. This included a Google vice president.

Use Duck Duck Go - they not only respect neutrality, they also, unlike Google, respect privacy.

Use Brave as a browser
DuckDuckGo for search
and a VPN (check it's a proper one).

Funny how the Progressives and Fascists first moves are always to limit what people can print and say, and limit what they read and hear.
Break google up. Antitrust. Divest the search engine from their other businesses. Or else demand they be strictly neutral to qualify under common carrier law - and if they do not then they are liable for libel, etc. Same for Facebook, Twitter, and other monopoly social media. Meet common carrier neutrality, or become liable for what people post.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
