Not surprising... even in a supposed 2A state like TN, you're pretty much screwed if you use a firearm in self-defense. They even have a law against "intending to go armed" whatever the hell that means. As near as I can tell, the state ROE are "let them shoot you first, then try not to hurt them too much."

If that is an accurate report, then I'm not surprised he is being charged. By confronting the intruders he created the situation.
I feel bad for him, but under his state law, he apparently screwed up be confronting the intruders. In a better world, the surviving intruders would be charged with felony murder.
Six months after an EF-3 tornado tore through St. Louis, killing five people and causing an estimated $1.6 billion in damage, parts of the city are still littered with broken windows, blue tarps and homes that haven’t been touched since May.
Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley has previously warned that tornado-damaged communities can’t rebuild without strong federal involvement.
In St. Louis, residents say they’re still waiting for the help they were told would be coming.
Benjamin Anderson has lived in one of the hardest-hit neighborhoods for seven years and owns several rental properties in the area. When the storm hit, he was at work a few miles away.
"I got bombarded by about 37 texts from my dad with photos of our buildings. Just totally … some of them literally totally destroyed," he said, adding that one of his multi-unit buildings suffered six figures’ worth of damage. "After spending a year and a half putting our hearts and souls into a building… that was not a fun experience to have to come back to."
He said the recovery process has been slow and confusing, even for someone familiar with contractors and insurance systems.
"I applied for FEMA five times on like 4 or 5 different properties. And we were denied every single time," Anderson said. "I haven't heard anybody who's come to me and they're like, 'I got a $10,000 check from FEMA, and it's really going to help me do these things.'"
According to FEMA, millions of dollars in federal aid have been approved for Missouri storm survivors, including temporary housing assistance and low-interest SBA loans. But the agency noted in an October recovery update that many applications require follow-up documentation and some denials are later overturned on appeal.
Homeowner Misty Williams said she’s hopeful about a new city program called STL Recovers, which helps tornado survivors figure out what assistance they qualify for and how to begin repairing their homes.
City leaders recently announced an expanded recovery effort, including a housing and temporary shelter program unveiled by Mayor Cara Spencer that is aimed at helping families who still cannot return home six months after the storm.

Department of Justice leadership directed federal prosecutors to give them examples by Friday of hurdles they have encountered with judges when working on cases about attacks on law enforcement and Antifa.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's office sent the order one day prior to some U.S. attorneys, according to a memo reviewed by Fox News Digital. The memo instructed the prosecutors to give "2-3 examples of unusual judicial system obstacles" their offices have encountered in the courts in certain areas. The memo was first reported by Reuters.
The areas were laid out in a bulleted list and included assaults on law enforcement, obstruction of immigration authorities, investigations into certain "domestic terror organizations, such as Antifa" or "interstate threats, doxxing, and/or hoaxes."
The judicial obstacles, the memo said, should be those that cropped up when prosecutors were bringing charges, litigating cases or carrying out other legal processes.
The directive marks the latest instance of the DOJ targeting the judiciary as prosecutors fail to secure charges and convictions in some high-profile cases and as the Trump administration faces hundreds of lawsuits and frequent adverse rulings in the lower courts.
It also comes after Blanche railed against what he said were "rogue activist judges" and declared a "war" on them during a Federalist Society convention last week.

I think we have seen enough of the Fed judiciary since January to know that we are going to need a special venue for ANTIFA and leftist assaults on federal officers. I don’t like it, but many of the judges are just leftist operatives.

[PJMEDIA] Across three-fifths of the United States, the Trump administration has found half a million people receiving SNAP benefits twice over and 5,000 dead people receiving them. In deep blue states, the fraud is probably much worse.
It is important to clarify that 20 states out of the 50 did not comply with the federal government's request for information on SNAP beneficiaries, likely because they are trying to hide how many illegal aliens are illicitly receiving food stamps. So the horrifying numbers revealed by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins on Laura Ingraham's Fox News show, The Ingraham Angle, are actually incomplete, and will probably be much higher if the administration can make radical Democrat states provide the necessary data.
Rollins, having mentioned the blue states' incomplete SNAP data, stated that ''of the 29 that complied, what we have found is staggering. Half a million people getting benefits two times under the same name, [likewise] 5,000 dead people.'' Those 5,000 cases are probably family members continuing to receive SNAP benefits instead of the dear departed individuals. In any case, we are wasting huge amounts of taxpayer money on beneficiaries who have passed away and greedy double-dippers.
The secretary continued to list off food stamp recipient statistics: ''80% [are] able-bodied Americans, meaning they can work, they don't have small children at home, they're not taking care of an elderly parent. They can work, and they choose not to work, of course, because they're getting significant benefits from the taxpayer.''
Rollins added, ''So this light, Laura, that has now been shined on what is perhaps one of the most corrupt, dysfunctional programs in American history, that we are working now for very big announcements coming next week on this. We are cracking down. We now have a plan to fix it, and we're really, really excited about doing that for the American people.''
Ingraham agreed on how important reform is, noting, ''This has been going on for many years.'' Reform is actually long overdue.

I reported yesterday that the Trump administration, as of last week, found 500,000 double dippers and 5000 dead people receiving food stamps across 29 states. The updated number provided this week is 186,000 dead people on SNAP (which means, of course, actually their living family members). The numbers will certainly be higher if they ever obtain data from deep blue states. Also, some 80% of recipients are able-bodied and could work, but do not. And that is why Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says SNAP is going to be completely revamped and every recipient will have to reapply and provide proof that he really, truly needs it.
Rollins told Newsmax, “186,000 deceased men and women and children in this country are receiving a check. Now, that is what we're really going to start clamping down on. [And] here's the really stunning thing: This is just data from those 29 mostly red states.” Those are the states that complied with the federal government on investigating and cleaning up food stamp lists. Obviously, states like California and New York are not included on that list.
The secretary described how the Trump administration plans to address the fraud. “It's going to give us a platform and a trajectory to fundamentally rebuild this program, have everyone reapply for their benefit, make sure that everyone that's taking a taxpayer-funded benefit through SNAP or food stamps, that they literally are vulnerable, and they can't survive without it,” she said.
According to Rollins, “The president has made this a priority. We will fix this program.” Hopefully, that will save us many millions of dollars in taxpayer cash. Rollins told Newsmax that over 120 people have already been arrested with charges for SNAP fraud. “There's a lot of people already sitting in jail, but I think we're just at the very tip of the iceberg with what we're going to find,” Rollins emphasized. Goodness only knows how many noncitizens are getting food stamps.

Buying things the wife and I worked 45+ years and were taxed 30+% of our life, before retiring.

Unfortunately States have little incentive to prevent fraud since the basic SNAP benefits are 100% federal (States have to pay some of the expense of administration).
If the SNAP benefits were, say 60%F/40%S it would be a different story. That may not be possible politically but 80F/20S probably is.

Yes, this is all by design. Democrats and their media lackeys bombard the American people every night with so-called news stories about any little thing that puts Trump in a negative light. It doesn't matter if the stories are only half true or even outright lies. It is distinctly reminiscent of Orwell's two minutes of hate. The most disturbing aspect of this phenomenon is that so many Americans are so ignorant that they swallow all this bullshit without question. They haven't even the foggiest notion that they are watching Democrat propaganda instead of real news. In South Carolina, two Republicans, Reps. Nancy Mace and Ralph Norman, are running against each other for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, as are Reps. Dave Schweikert and Andy Biggs in Arizona.
Representatives running for the U.S. Senate in their states are Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) to succeed Peters; Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa) to succeed Ernst; Barry Moore (R-Ala.) to succeed Tuberville; Andy Barr (R-Ky.) to succeed McConnell; Angie Craig (D-Minn.) to succeed Smith, and Chris Pappas (D-N.H.) to succeed Shaheen.
In Illinois for Durbin’s seat, Reps. Raja Krishnamoorthi and Robin Kelly are competing against each other and Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton for the Democratic nomination, whose winner is all but guaranteed victory in the general election.
Another member v. member Senate competition is in Georgia, where Reps. Mike Collins and Buddy Carter are both seeking the Republican nomination to challenge Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) in the general election.
In Texas, Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) is seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Jr., the latter of whom leads polls.
As a result of Paxton’s departure, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) is running to be the attorney general of Texas.
