[Free Beacon] The Air Force announced on Monday that it did not share records on the Texas church shooter's 2012 domestic-violence-related court-martial with the FBI's firearms background-check system, allowing him to pass numerous background checks over several years to obtain at least four firearms.
"Initial information indicates that Kelley's domestic violence offense was not entered into the National Criminal Information Center database by the Holloman Air Force Base Office of Special Investigations," Ann Stefanek, an Air Force spokesperson, told the Washington Free Beacon.
The shooter, 26-year-old Devin P. Kelley, was court-martialed in 2012 for what Stefanek told the Washington Free Beacon was "assault on his spouse and assault on their child." He was sentenced to 12 months in military prison for the assault and received a demotion to the Air Force's lowest rank. His assault resulted in serious injuries to the child in question.
"He assaulted his stepson severely enough that he fractured his skull, and he also assaulted his wife," Don Christensen, a retired colonel who was the chief prosecutor for the Air Force, told The New York Times. "He pled to intentionally doing it."

The basis of the dishonorable discharge by way of courts martial shouldn't have been any reason to avoid reporting the finding which as a felony conviction should have been entered. Doesn't anyone know how to play this game?
Those are the questions that journalists are supposed to ask. Even in high school journalism classes, even junior high school, this mantra is drilled into the students. The answer to one of those basic questions is missing in this article. Can you guess which one it is?
Last night I watched CBS news and I'm guessing their coverage wasn't too much different than ABC, NBC or CNN. They went to great lengths to talk to people in Sutherland Springs and tell all of their stories as well as those of the victims. I feel sorry for those people. I really do. But what I really want to know is who dropped the ball, why was this nut case allowed to buy guns and what is being done to fix it. Not a peep about that from CBS. With all of the investigative resources available to that organization, not one peep, no indication whatsoever that they are even thinking about that one little basic question. They were careful, however, to include calls for more gun control by various left wing congresscritters. Instead of more gun control, why can't the laws that are already on the books be enforced?

Churches are easy targets for ISIS and the deranged left.
Church's need a carry concealed members at the door as people enter and exit and doors that can be secured once the service starts.
We also need people to start telling the cops when their friend, who they know has mental issues, starts to post violent things on Facebook. Might save their friend from a suicide or worse.
Unfortunately I think most of the deranged left don't have many friends.

"Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein directed a complete review of the Kelley case by the Air Force Office of the Inspector General," Stefanek said. "The Service will also conduct a comprehensive review of Air Force databases to ensure records in other cases have been reported correctly. The Air Force has also requested that the Department of Defense Inspector General review records and procedures across the Department of Defense."
OK. I guess I should have followed the link and read the entire article before I went off. Doesn't let CBS off the hook though. News organizations like that should be hounding the Pentagon for answers.

Despite all the clamor about the in-laws, I do not think family issues were the only (or even the main) reason he shot up the church.
I think it was straight up anti-Christian hatred. If he wanted just the in-laws, he could of shot them in a more secluded spot with fewer panicked people running into the line of fire. He wouldn't have needed to kill children. He wouldn't have concentrated on the pastor's family.
You need to concentrate on his vicious screeds on facebook. These will tell you what he was really thinking.

It gets worse. Kelley escaped from the looney bin in 2012. The dishonorable discharge should have been a disqualifier for a weapon purchase. He also assaulted his wife and child. The child suffered a skull fracture. He was denied a carry permit.
[Breitbart] A review of FBI Director James Comey’s professional history and relationships shows that the Obama cabinet leader ‐ now under fire for his handling of the investigation of Hillary Clinton ‐ is deeply entrenched in the big-money cronyism culture of Washington, D.C. His personal and professional relationships ‐ all undisclosed as he announced the Bureau would not prosecute Clinton ‐ reinforce bipartisan concerns that he may have politicized the criminal probe.
These concerns focus on millions of dollars that Comey accepted from a Clinton Foundation defense contractor, Comey’s former membership on a Clinton Foundation corporate partner’s board, and his surprising financial relationship with his brother Peter Comey, who works at the law firm that does the Clinton Foundation’s taxes.
Lockheed Martin
When President Obama nominated Comey to become FBI director in 2013, Comey promised the United States Senate that he would recuse himself on all cases involving former employers.
But Comey earned $6 million in one year alone from Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin became a Clinton Foundation donor that very year.
Comey served as deputy attorney general under John Ashcroft for two years of the Bush administration. When he left the Bush administration, he went directly to Lockheed Martin and became vice president, acting as a general counsel.
How much money did James Comey make from Lockheed Martin in his last year with the company, which he left in 2010? More than $6 million in compensation.
Lockheed Martin is a Clinton Foundation donor. The company admitted to becoming a Clinton Global Initiative member in 2010.

Better take a look at Mueller's relationships as well. There are plenty of conflict of interest issues going on. You start peeling back the onion that is the Clinton Crime Syndicate and you find all sorts of conflicted relationships--it's like trying to swallow a glob of spit once you start the peeling back process.
Kentucky state pol resigns in wake of sex scandal
(CNN)On Sunday, Kentucky's House Speaker Jeff Hoover (R) resigned his leadership post under pressure -- following revelations that he and several other legislators had settled a sexual harassment complaint with a woman.
Florida state politician caught in sex accusations
TALLAHASSEE — Six women who work in Florida’s Capitol say the state Senate’s powerful budget chairman, Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Latvala, has inappropriately touched them without their consent or uttered demeaning remarks about their bodies.
The women, who include Senate staff and lobbyists affiliated with both major parties, told POLITICO Florida they did not want to be identified for fear of losing their jobs, getting a bad reputation in the male-dominated Capitol or running afoul of an influential politician who can kill their clients’ issues. The incidents, they said, occurred over a period of several years, happening in the privacy of Latvala’s Senate office or in public places like the Capitol rotunda, a bar or an elevator.
Weinstein tried to get ahead of coming avalanche of accusations
In the fall of 2016, Harvey Weinstein set out to suppress allegations that he had sexually harassed or assaulted numerous women. He began to hire private security agencies to collect information on the women and the journalists trying to expose the allegations. According to dozens of pages of documents, and seven people directly involved in the effort, the firms that Weinstein hired included Kroll, which is one of the world’s largest corporate-intelligence companies, and Black Cube, an enterprise run largely by former officers of Mossad and other Israeli intelligence agencies. Black Cube, which has branches in Tel Aviv, London, and Paris, offers its clients the skills of operatives “highly experienced and trained in Israel’s elite military and governmental intelligence units,” according to its literature.
Spacey blames abusive childhood for sex problems
Today Spacey's reputation lies in tatters. He has announced he will seek psychological help to tackle his demons, but his career is effectively finished.
His award-winning Netflix series House Of Cards has been abruptly terminated amid reports that eight members of the show's crew have accused him of sexual misconduct.
And the man who single-handedly saved London's Old Vic theatre during his 11 years as the famous playhouse's artistic director has been dumped by his agent.
Fotos emerged detailing one of Spacey's gay encounters
As Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey is facing growing allegations of sexually assaulting teenage boys, DailyMailTV has uncovered nearly two-decades-old pictures of the House of Cards star cuddling and massaging a young man in a public park
They were taken the day before Spacey won his Best Actor award for the 1999 movie American Beauty and years before he came out as gay on October 29.
The intimate pictures show Spacey, then 41, taking the unidentified 21-year-old male model into the hills above Topanga, California, close to where the star grew up.
We recently spent $2500 on a young Black Angus bull. We put him out with the herd but he just ate grass and wouldn't even look at a cow. I was beginning to suspect he was gay, if that's possible for a bull.
Anyhow, I had the Vet come have a look at him. He said the bull was very healthy, but possibly a little young, so he gave me some pills to feed him once a day.
Holy crap! The bull started to service the cows within two days. All of my cows! Hell, he even broke through the fence and bred all my neighbor's cows! He's on his way to servicing every cow in the county. It's incredible - He's been breeding just about everything in sight. He's like a machine!
I don't know what in hell was in the pills the Vet gave him but they kind of taste like peppermint.
[THEHILL] Veteran Affairs (VA) Secretary David Shulkin on Monday said he does not consider the former Air Force service member identified as the gunman in a Texas mass shooting as a veteran, and that he would not have had access to mental health help from the department.
"I do not consider him a veteran. That would give him much more respect than he deserves," Shulkin said of Devin Kelley, whom law enforcement identified as the gunman in a church shooting Sunday in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
Kelley had served in the Air Force in Logistics Readiness at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico beginning in 2010, but was court-martialed in 2012 for an assault on his then-wife and child. He was sentenced to 12 months confinement, received a reduction in rank and was discharged in 2014 for "bad conduct," according to the Air Force.
"He is a criminal and I think that he was convicted and with a dishonorable discharge does not deserve to have the same title as the men and women who have served this country and have honorably been discharged," Shulkin said during remarks at the National Press Club in Washington.
Shulkin said there is a distinction between those who have received an other than honorable discharge and those who have received a dishonorable discharge. Those with the former, he said, "we do believe are in need of our assistance and help, particularly with mental illness."
"Those dishonorable discharged have violated the law, have violated our morals and ethics, and I do not believe deserve the types of services and benefits and VA would not be providing those benefits," Shulkin explained.
"This is not a person who has ever been treated in the VA system and would not be eligible for those benefits," he said.

According to law, someone who has received a dishonorable discharge is not a veteran.

According to other reports, some of these COMMISSIONED guys went to sea without actual training, but with DVDs they were supposed to watch.
Can a sailor reject a deployment if the guys steering the boat don't know how to steer the boat?

Many, many occasions training OP teams in new tech when the senior troops didn’t bother with the lectures, material, tests or lab. Didn’t want to play the common man I guess.
IIRC those ships have guns and missiles, what happens when someone screws up the controls for those?
I'm flashing on that scene from "Independence Day" where Randy Quaid pushes the wrong button and launches a missile while on the ground.

Not really all that comfortable with readiness status of our military.
If every one of our sailors (and I doubt the issue is exclusive to the USN) aren't trained well enough to manage their charges and charglings in their sleep, how will they perform under the pressure of warfare?
[Al Jazeera] Zim-bob-we's information minister has announced the dismissal of Emmerson Mnangagwa as vice president for showing "traits of disloyalty".
The expulsion on Monday removed a potential successor to Bob Muggsy Mugabe Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case... , the 93-year-old president and leader of the ruling ZANU-PF party.
It also cleared the decks for Mugabe's wife, Grace Mugabe, to succeed her husband.
Explaining the reasons for Mnangagwa's removal, Simon Khaya Moyo, the information minister, said: "The vice president has consistently and persistently exhibited traits of disloyalty, disrespect, deceitfulness and unreliability.

[Al Jazeera] With a fundamental, strategic shift affecting the foundation of the South Korea-US alliance, and China competing strongly for South Korean kinship, Tuesday's state visit to Seoul will be a diplomatic minefield for US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... Over two days, Trump will meet South Korean President Moon Jae-in and address the National Assembly. Foregoing a photo opp at the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) - a standard stop for visiting presidents - he will go to Camp Humphreys, a vast military base 50km south of Seoul that is rising as a new hub for the 28,500 US forces on the peninsula.
A critical undercurrent during the visit will be the ongoing shift in Washington's strategic focus, driven by North Korea's expanding nuclear capabilities.
Since the end of the 1950-53 Korean War, the defence of South Korea has been the Korea-US alliance's foremost priority. Now, with the United States increasingly in North Korea's crosshairs as it extends the range of its intercontinental ballistic missiles, Washington must consider its own defence.
This development is opening fissures in the alliance. While Trump has threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea, Moon told Korea's National Assembly last week that "our top priority is to maintain peace on the Korean Peninsula ... No military action on the Korean Peninsula shall be taken without prior consent of the Republic of Korea."

When I was there Camp Humphreys (the Hump) was a dirt runway and a rusty chain link fence.
[Yahoo] An enraged woman forced an airliner to make an emergency landing after she discovered I suspect is was more confirmation than discovery.
mid-flight that her husband was apparently cheating on her.
The woman, an Iranian national, was travelling from Doha to Bali with her husband and child on a Qatar Airways flight on Sunday, India's Hindustan Times reported Tuesday.
As her husband slept, she used his hand to unlock his fingerprint-protected phone, revealing the alleged affair in all its sordid detail.
Angered by the discovery, the woman reportedly started to hit her husband. The cabin crew intervened but were unable to calm the situation.
With the inflight episode spiralling out of control, the pilots decided to make an unscheduled stop in the southern Indian city of Chennai.
The woman, her husband and their child were taken off the plane, which then resumed its journey to Indonesia, an unnamed security official told the paper.
"The family spent the day at Chennai airport and was sent to Kuala Lumpur by a Batik Air flight. No police action was taken," the official said.
Qatar Airways was not immediately available for comment when contacted by AFP. My takeaway? Proof positive that women are selfish. And sneaky.
And men are cheating dogs. Some of each, at any rate.

[Politico] Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s assignment of as many as several hundred State Department officials to quickly clear a huge backlog of public records requests is being met with deep skepticism by rank-and-file employees.
Tillerson says his goal is transparency. But many State workers fear the real reason is political: expediting the public release of thousands of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s official emails.
The staffers also suspect the move ‐ which will reassign many of them from far more substantive duties and has already sparked a union complaint ‐ is meant to force many of them to resign out of frustration with what are essentially clerical positions.
The issue spotlights the deepening distrust toward Tillerson at Foggy Bottom, where his attempts to restructure the department, cut its budget and centralize policymaking have already hurt morale. But it is drawing applause from conservative groups, which have been pressuring Tillerson to act on a backlog of 13,000 Freedom of Information Act requests ‐ many of them relating to emails and other records from Clinton’s tenure.
"We haven't understood why there's been a slow-walking of releasing records, and we've been quite public in counseling the administration to take an approach of extreme transparency," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, a conservative activist group that has sued the Trump administration for more Clinton documents.
"It looks like someone's listening," Fitton added.

It's time to think differently and start moving certain Federal headquarters to different parts of the country, like Nome, East St. Louis or Gary, Indiana. That'll make the shitbags quit a lot faster.

[LawNewz] A woman lost her job after giving President Donald Trump the finger. Juli Briskman was off-duty when she was riding a bicycle past the president’s motorcade, and gave him the one-finger salute. The greeting was caught on camera, and the image soon went viral. Briskman herself then used it as a profile picture on Facebook and Twitter. That last part, apparently, was too much for her employer, government contractor Akima LLC. Within days, they fired her, Briskman told HuffPost.
"They said, ’We’re separating from you,'" Briskman told reporter Jennifer Bendery. "Basically, you cannot have ’lewd’ or ’obscene’ things in your social media. So they were calling flipping him off ’obscene.’’"
While Briskman wasn’t working at the time she did this, and she doesn’t mention where she works in her social media profiles, the company told her it could hurt their business. The terms of her employment were at-will, so the company was within their right to do what they pleased.
Still, Briskman believes that the company hasn’t exactly been consistent with their lewdness policy, as a male coworker once posted on Facebook calling someone else ""a fucking Libtard asshole." Briskman said that employee kept his job after deleting the comment.
"How is that fair?" she asked. "Life is unfair."
- John F.Kennedy
Briskman said this wasn’t the first time she flipped off the motorcade, and despite losing her job, she does not regret what she did.
"I’m angry about where our country is right now. I am appalled. This was an opportunity for me to say something."
She says now that she’s looking for work again, she hopes to get a job with an advocacy group like PETA.

Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
