...Beyond the IDF’s Military Advocate General (MAG) Corps, the corruption almost certainly involves Israeli Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and her cohorts in Israel’s Justice Ministry. It may even reach so far up as a sitting justice on the Israeli Supreme Court. The only question, and indeed hope, is that this administration employs this opportunity to conduct a thorough “house cleaning” in the most extensive manner possible.

I don't know how "unknowingly" it was. In this town at least the leadership was pretty much entirely non-standard sex types, and the online teaching materials available were overwhelmingly about sex orientations, and only "black" as an afterthought.

[AFRICANEWS] General Assimi Goita, the head of Mali's military junta, spoke for the first time on Monday about the country's fuel crisis.
The crisis stems from a jihadi group's blockade of fuel tankers entering the landlocked West African nation.
"During the escort of the fuel tanker convoy, people are dying; there are ambushes on the roads and tankers are catching fire with people inside them, who are burning to death," said Goita.
He was attending a meeting with Bougouni regional authorities during a trip in the south of the country to inaugurate the opening of a lithium mine.
Until now, Malian authorities have said little about the blockade imposed by Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Moslemin (JNIM), which is linked to al-Qaeda.
Militants from the JNIM group announced a ban on fuel imports from neighboring countries into Mali in early September, after authorities said early this year they were cutting down fuel supplies to remote areas as a measure to squeeze the jihadis in their hideouts.
The blockade has squeezed Mali's fragile economy and left hundreds of fuel trucks stranded at the border.
Mali's military has attempted to escort fuel trucks from border areas to Bamako while also targeting JNIM locations with Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s. Some trucks have made it to the capital, but holy warriors have attacked others.
In his speech, Goita called on Malians to reduce the number of journeys they take to help alleviate the impact of the fuel shortage.
In Mali's capital, Bamako, endless queues have formed at gas stations, with some residents spending nights waiting.
The government announced school closures, embassies ordered citizens to evacuate, and citizens have been without power for hours.
The blockade has been a major setback for Mali's military junta in a country that relies on fuel imports from neighboring Senegal ... a nation of about 14 million on the west coast of Africa bordering Mauretania to the north, Mali to the east, and a pair of Guineas to the south, one of them Bissau. It is 90 percent Mohammedan and has more than 80 political parties. Its primary purpose seems to be absorbing refugees... and the Ivory Coast.
JNIM is one of several gangs operating in the Sahel, a vast strip of semi-arid desert stretching from North Africa to West Africa, where an insurgency is spreading rapidly with large-scale attacks

[Breitbart] Pedestrians and a cyclist were deliberately run down by a motorist said by police to have cried well-worn war cry "Allahu Akhbar", with a sovereigntist political activist of the National Rally among those now in critical condition.
What observers have called an "Islamist" or "Jihadist" attack, the kind long known in French cities, has struck ’La France Profonde’, or deep France, with at least ten injured by a man driving a car into members of the public on a picturesque island best known for its fishing community and slow pace of life.
10 people were injured on Wednesday morning on the Île d’Oléron, an island in the Bay of Biscay near Rochefort by a motorist. Of those injured, four are said to be in "critical condition". A political aide to a Rassemblement National (the National Rally party of Marine Le Pen) politician is reported by Le Figaro to be one of the worst injured, she having been run over while out jogging at the beach, and has been airlifted to hospital in a state of "absolute emergency".
Update 1500 — Two in critical condition
While four of the most seriously injured were airlifted to hospital in the wake of the attack, the official count has reduced from four in critical condition to two in the time since news first broke on this rampage. Giving an update during a visit to the Île d’Oléron, the French Interior Minister said the suspect is "not saying much" in police custody but that the investigation is pushing on, including searches of the arrested man’s property.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested. Police say the suspect is known to officers for small-time criminal activity and drug use and that he lives in a nearby community. A criminal case of attempted murder has been opened, but despite the war cry uttered at the time of the man’s arrest, prosecutors say they haven’t decided what the motive to run several people over at multiple locations on the island may have been.
The local public prosecutor is reported to have said: "At the time of his arrest, he shouted ’Allah Akbar.’ However, the motive has not been confirmed and the investigation will have to determine it". Counter-terror police are on scene but have not yet taken control of the investigation.
The car used in the apparent attack was torched by the assailant as he attempted to flee on foot, and it is stated multiple gas cylinders were found in the vehicle, implying an attempt to cause an explosion. Police have not confirmed this at time of publication.
Conservative commentators and politicians spoke out to decry the perpetrator, the attack, and to note in particular how what they called Islamist terror has spread to even France profonde, the deepest and most picturesque parts of the country. Éric Zemmour, a essayist and polemicist-turned candidate for the French Presidency said with his characteristic style: "Just a few years ago, places like the Île d’Oléron were refuges for those who still wanted to live in a preserved France. Today, the situation is such that we see jihadists emerging everywhere in France."
Jordan Bardella, the Parliamentary leader of the National Rally party which is said to have seen one of its employees critically injured, called for a strict punishment for the perpetrator of what he called "blind and deliberate violence". His party colleague, MP Sébastien Chenu reflected that nowhere is safe from "this phenomenon" anymore and called on the state to fight the "Islamist hydra".
He said: "The Islamist threat has never been stronger. This is a war that must be waged here and now. Our country has already paid a heavy price to Islamism".

[IsraelTimes] Two Hamas operatives were detained by Israeli commandos during a raid in the Nablus area of the northern West Bank today, the IDF says.
According to the military, the pair were nabbed by troops of the Duvdevan commando unit in two separate undercover operations in the Balata camp and another village near Nablus, following intelligence provided by the Shin Bet.
[IsraelTimes] An attempt to smuggle weapons into Israel from Jordan using a drone was foiled this morning, the military says.
Troops of the Yoav Regional Brigade located the drone after it crossed the border and was downed. It was found to be ferrying 10 handguns, according to the IDF.
In the past year, there have been frequent attempts to bring weapons and drugs over the Egyptian border using drones. Smuggling attempts are also frequent on the Jordanian border, although less commonly with drones.

Chen, 19, was on active duty with his tank unit at the Nahal Oz IDF base when he was killed and kidnapped to Gaza by Hamas bully boyz on October 7, 2023. He was the last remaining slain hostage held in the Gaza Strip with American citizenship.
After receiving the body from the Red Thingy, the IDF inspected the casket, draped it in an Israeli flag and held a short ceremony led by a military rabbi.
After reaching IDF hands, Chen’s body was escorted by police to the Abu Kabir forensic institute in Tel Aviv for identification. Hamas has, in the past, transferred remains that did not belong to a hostage.
Itay was killed alongside fellow tank crew members, Sgt. Tomer Leibovitz and Cpt. Daniel Perez, and his body was kidnapped together with Perez’s. Perez was returned last month and laid to rest.
The crew’s fourth member, Matan Angrest, was kidnapped alive and also released last month. Speaking at Perez’s funeral, Angrest promised to keep fighting for Itay’s return and even said he was "ready to go into Gaza right now and bring him back."
The family of Chen, a US national, has been among the most outspoken proponents for the families of hostages and decided not to sit shiva for him until he was returned and laid to rest.
"[After] 760 days, Itay is back home," his father Ruby Chen wrote on X.
The transfer of Chen’s remains occurred after the terror group handed over the bodies of three deceased hostages to Israel on Sunday. On Monday morning, their identities were confirmed as IDF soldiers Col. Asaf Hamami, Cpt. Omer Neutra and Staff Sgt. Oz Daniel.

Chen, 19, was on active duty, part of a tank unit at the Nahal Oz army base that included three other soldiers, when Hamas-led bully boyz attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
The dual US-Israeli citizen was last heard from at 6:40 a.m., when the bully boyz invaded the Gaza border communities, including the area where Chen was stationed.
One week later, Chen’s younger brother, Alon, celebrated his bar mitzvah in a small ceremony in Netanya. Thousands of neighborhood residents came out to support the family and Chen’s parents, US-born Ruby and Hagit, and to pray with them for news about Chen.
The Brooklyn-born Ruby Chen said his son had stayed at the base during the Simchat Torah holiday weekend so that he could return home for his younger brother’s bar mitzvah the following weekend.
Ruby Chen said the last he heard from his "wonderful" son was that his base was under heavy bombardment.
Under the terms of the ceasefire that took effect last month, Hamas is obligated to return all hostages in its possession and provide all the information it has regarding where the bodies of hostages can be found. Families of the dear departed captives have stressed the importance of returning them to Israel for burial.
Since the ceasefire began — the first stage of a 20-point peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump ...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party... — Hamas has released the last 20 surviving hostages, and the bodies of 21 deceased hostages, with seven now remaining in the Strip. The process of finding the bodies has been painstaking and has drawn in international assistance.
But Israel has assessed that Hamas can return most of the dear departed hostages. According to a report on Channel 12 on Tuesday, Israel believes that it will be possible to return all the bodies of the remaining hostages held in Gaza, with "strenuous work and cooperation" with Hamas and other parties over time.
The report said Israel knows the locations of at least four of the dead hostages. The network cites three defense officials as saying that the remaining three can also be returned, though it will take time. The tally apparently does not include the body being returned on Tuesday night, which has not yet been identified.
"This can take time, and there are further moves that need to be carried out on the ground, but in the end, it will be possible to return them all for burial in Israel," a defense official is quoted by Channel 12 as saying.
The seven slain hostages still in Gaza include six who were kidnapped in the Hamas-led onslaught on October 7, 2023, and the body of Lt. Hadar Goldin, who was killed fighting Hamas in Gaza in 2014 and whose body has been held in the Strip since then.
The IDF may press for the return of Goldin’s body by offering safe passage to an estimated 200 Hamas operatives hiding in tunnels in southern Gaza, under the Israeli-held side of the Strip, if the terror group agrees to transfer Goldin’s remains. The operatives would then be allowed into the Hamas-run side of the Strip.
According to a report on Channel 12 on Tuesday, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir recommended the exchange to political officials.
"No terrorist will leave Rafah alive. I am willing to consider the release of bully boyz [from Rafah] on one condition — returning Hadar Goldin. Otherwise, no terrorist will leave Rafah alive," the network quoted Zamir as saying.
The report said Israel believes Goldin’s body is buried in the Rafah area in southern Gaza.

The exchange marked another step forward for the tenuous, US-brokered ceasefire. For each deceased Israeli hostage returned, Israel has been releasing the remains of 15 Palestinians.
The Red Cross says it facilitated the transfer of 45 Palestinian bodies to Gaza on Monday morning. Zaher al-Wahidi, a spokesperson at the Gaza Health Ministry, told The Associated Press that Nasser Hospital received the bodies around noon.
Only 78 of the bodies returned so far have been identified, the ministry says. Forensic work is complicated by a lack of DNA testing kits in Gaza, it adds. The ministry posts photos of the remains online, in the hope that families will recognize them.

Meanwhile, in the Jabalia area, the IDF says troops of the 188th Armored Brigade and the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit located and destroyed a Hamas tunnel that was hundreds of meters long and dozens of meters deep.
The tunnel had been used by Hamas operatives for residing in for long periods and preparing to launch attacks against troops, according to the military.
The operative had “posed an immediate threat” to the forces stationed in the area, the military says, adding that shortly after he was spotted, the Israeli Air Force struck and killed him “to remove the threat.”
The military says it remains deployed in Gaza “in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.”

An Iranian man has been found dead with a gunshot wound after posting an image of himself burning a picture of the supreme leader, with mourners blaming the authorities, according to opposition media based outside of Iran.
