A prince in Saudi Arabia has been sentenced to prison and was lashed after a court ruling for breaking the law.
The lashing was carried out on Monday afternoon, after going through a medical checkup to make sure that he wasn't suffering from any diseases, that could have postponed the sentence, Saudi daily Okaz reported.
A five member panel, representing various agencies, administered the lashings, the report added.
Earlier in October, a young Saudi prince was executed for murder for the first time since 1975. He spent his last hours with his family, saying goodbye to his loved ones.
Prince Turki bin Saud bin Turki bin Saud Al Kabeer, a Saudi national, was killed in Riyadh after pleading guilty of firing to death Adel bin Sulaiman bin Abdulkareem Al Mihaimeed, also a Saudi national, following a group quarrel, a statement by the Ministry of Interior said. The prince's family tried to reach an agreement with the victim's father at multiple times throughout the day to accept the blood money and forgive him, however all attempts failed according to a report.
News of the execution was welcomed online by Saudis, who interpreted the rare execution as a sign of equality under Islamic law, including royal family members who said King Salman had been "decisive" and "fair". Khalid al-Saud, an academic and royal family member, wrote on a Twitter account: "This is the law of God Almighty, and this is the approach of our blessed nation."

[FreeBeacon] Chinese spies repeatedly infiltrated U.S. national security agencies, including official email accounts, and stole U.S. secrets on Pentagon war plans for a future conflict with China, according to a forthcoming congressional commission report.
"The United States faces a large and growing threat to its national security from Chinese intelligence collection operations," states the late draft report of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission.
"Among the most serious threats are China’s efforts at cyber and human infiltration of U.S. national security entities."
Chinese intelligence activities have "risen significantly" in the past 15 years and are conducted through several spy services, including the Ministry of State Security (MSS), the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), and Communist Party military organizations such as the PLA General Political Department and the Party’s United Front Work Department.
A copy of the draft annual report for 2016 was obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The final report will be released Nov. 16.

The US Sea-Based X-band Radar (SBX), one of the world's largest and most sophisticated phased-array X-band radar units, was deployed to the waters off North Korea in late September, Yonhap news agency quoted a South Korean military official as saying on 1 November.
"The [SBX] Radar was sent to an undisclosed location off the Korean Peninsula for a one-month deployment after departing Hawaii in late September," the official told Yonhap. "It sailed back to its home port in late October," he added.
Although no details of the SBX's mission off the Korean Peninsula have yet to be made public, the radar is designed to detect and track long-range ballistic missiles and rockets.
If the SBX was able to collect data from North Korea's recent launches of intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs), this information could be used to assess the performance and range of the missiles.
A spokesperson for the United States Forces-Korea Public Affairs Office declined to confirm the media report to IHS Jane's, citing "operational and security reasons".
As part of the United States' Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system, the SBX takes the form of an X-band ballistic missile-tracking and discrimination radar that is installed aboard a fifth-generation, semi-submersible, self-propelled, oceangoing platform.
Displacing about 50,000 tons, the SBX platform is understood to be 73 m wide, 119 m long, and measures 85 m from its keel to the top of the radar's protective radome.
Alongside the SBX radar, the platform's main deck provides accommodation for a crew of 85; work and storage spaces; power generation (comprising six 3.6 MW generators as originally fielded); bridge; control rooms; and the space and infrastructure needed to support the SBX radar antenna, command, control, and communications suites, and an in-flight interceptor communication system data terminal that hands off target-tracking and discrimination data to GMD interceptor missiles.

It may or may not have succeeded at collecting data, but at least it was able to "sail home" which is better than some.

Um, no. The Pueblo was an intel unit (signals-interception and translation.) A bastard child of the DoD and IC, un-beloved by the Navy and (like the Liberty) considered expendable by LBJ.

That is loitering off the Nork coast line doing electro-magnetic gathering of some sort with little or no self defense.
You left out the mission, the conditions of deployment and the political support (translation: significant US and Japanese defense assets nearby/standby.) Other than that, you're right.
North Korea is apparently purging military officers with family members who have defected to South Korea. Officers and soldiers who have family or relatives that have defected have been driven out since early October in a purge led by the Politburo and state security, a source said Monday. Around 1,000 officers and enlisted soldiers have been dishonorably discharged over the last month.
"There seems to be a lot of resentment among soldiers who claim to have been driven out even though they are innocent," the source added.
Military service is crucial in rising up through the ranks of the Workers Party.
When the number of recruits dwindled after a massive famine in the late 1990s that killed more than 1 million North Koreans, the North eased drafting standards allowing even family members of defectors to join. But screening has become more stringent following recent high-level defections.
One defector who used to be a senior official said, "Defectors send not only money back to North Korea but information as well. Top officials probably became nervous when they found out that information from the outside world was being passed on to soldiers through family members who defected."
The number of North Korean defectors in South Korea is soon expected to surpass 30,000. The pace of defection slowed over the past few years due to tougher crackdowns but is expected to rise around 15 percent this year as Kim Jong-un's reign of terror intensifies.
The military is Kim's last bastion of support.
One military source said, "Kim Jong-un probably shares Mao Zedong's mantra that power comes from the barrel of a gun. He has to weed out soldiers with ties to defectors to maintain ideological purity among troops."
And Choe Kyong-hui, a defector who now works at Hanyang University, said, "North Koreans in their 20s, who are the backbone of military, were born during the famine and are familiar with money and markets. They tend to look up to families who receive money from defectors living overseas, which could persuade them to defect."
One North Korean soldier who defected across the heavily armed border in September of this year said he came down to the South due to rumors that he would be given U.S. dollars.
"There is no mention in our propaganda broadcasts of U.S. dollar payments to defectors," a military officer here said. "But there may be rumors that we compensate defectors who provide intelligence."

[Vice] If you happen to find yourself in Sydney this week, you have the unique opportunity to have sex with the earth. You just need to stop by the "ecosexual bathhouse," which is currently part of the Syndey LiveWorks Festival of experimental art. The bathhouse is an interactive installation created by artists Loren Kronemyer and Ian Sinclair of Pony Express, who described the work to me as a "no-holds-barred extravaganza meant to dissolve the barriers between species as we descend into oblivion" as the result of our global environmental crisis. But they also see their piece as a part of a much larger ecosexual movement, which they say is gathering momentum around the world. Got nuthin'. Do not try to hump Mother Earth. If she slaps you, you will stay slapped.

In Aesop we read of a skeeter
Who fancied the goddess Demeter,
And how they'd have married
If only he'd carried
The peter he'd carved from a cedar.
See, g(r)omgoru? You're not the only one who can make predictions like Captain Obvious!
After hosting the president at his home for a Hillary Clinton fundraiser, the DreamWorks founder tells THR Obama "is still very ambitious about these last couple of months. ... You can't help but be impressed -- still [fighting] after eight years."
Jeffrey Katzenberg has shared private dinners and counseled Barack Obama on his post-White House plans, but even he says it's a "unique" experience to host the president in his home.
On Oct. 24, the DreamWorks founder and wife Marilyn hosted a roundtable with tech venture capitalist Chris Sacca and his wife, Crystal, and political consultant Andy Spahn and his wife, Children's Action Network's Jennifer Perry. J.J. Abrams, his wife, Katie McGrath, and lawyer Skip Brittenham were among the 25 guests who paid $100,000 each to attend and benefit the Hillary Victory Fund.
Three nights later Katzenberg picked up his amfAR Inspiration Gala honor and told THR that Obama "is still very ambitious about these last couple of months, and he's got a huge agenda with things he wants to get done. You can't help but be impressed -- still [fighting] after eight years." It takes a lot to destroy a country of 300+ million (and a shitload of illegals). Every day counts!

The SCOAMF (look it up) still has time to pardon a small army of violent black thugs from their richly-deserved prison sentences. He can then become crime lord of this murderous horde.
