[PJ] When DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin sat down with Fox News on Friday, he delivered some delicious news about the federal investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).
"This isn't just a case that's targeting one individual," Mullin explained. "This is a large case that we have presented to the DOJ, and the DOJ is leading the investigations."
Mullin credited the Homeland Security Investigations agents who searched Omar's Washington, D.C., home on October 12 and hauled out boxes of material. Those agents "did a lot of investigation to be able to present the case to them," he said.
The probe dates back to 2009, when Somalia-born Omar married Ahmed Elmi. Investigators want to know whether that marriage was part of an immigration fraud conspiracy, and whether Omar lied on government paperwork to become a citizen. Elmi is a British citizen who, we recently learned, describes himself as gay, and the evidence points to him being her brother, with the marriage allowing him to remain in the country legally.
Investigators are also scrutinizing her House financial disclosures, which may have padded her net worth by tens of millions of dollars.
Verifiably, Trump has the largest effort of de-legalization, denaturalization, visa revocation and real deportations, on top of the greatest cuts to overall legal immigration in over a century. https://t.co/3Kkylgaarn

If she flees to Somalia followed by the DOJ confiscating her assets, I’m ok with that — her citizenship can be stripped while she’s out of the country, and living in Somalia is like living in a downmarket prison without the bars…and the rest if the family who should not have gotten papers can be stripped and sent after her, saving the American taxpayer millions for the cost of a bunch of trials and imprisonments.

I agree with TW. If this fraud were to leave the US one way or another, then I'd be good with that.
I wonder what her "real" husband knows about all this and if the feds are taking a peek into his affairs. The phony vineyard might be a start. Just sayin'....

I concur with TW & DDM, her citizenship revoked, her assets seized and deported back to Somalia is a better alternative than jailing her here in the US and making her a martyr. I doubt we'll see a lot of "journalists" traveling to Somalia to interview her. I doubt her current husband will go with her.
[NY Post] Embattled New York Attorney General Letitia James failed to probe three of the Big Apple’s most scandal-scarred homeless shelter operators — while accepting more than $56,000 in campaign donations from their top executives, lobbyists and spouses over the past eight years, records show.
Samaritan Daytop Village, Acacia Network Housing and CORE Services Group have not faced enforcement action from James’ office since she took office in 2019, critics say.
Yet over the same period, these taxpayer-bankrolled nonprofits have come under heavy scrutiny from the state Comptroller’s Office, the state Inspector General, the NYC Department of Investigation and federal authorities over alleged insider deals, lavish spending and executive payouts, inadequate oversight of taxpayer dollars and other misconduct.
In 2024, a DOI examination of 51 city-funded shelter providers — including Acacia and CORE — uncovered examples of "nepotism, lack of competitive bidding and exorbitant salaries" spread across the city’s problem-plagued, multi-billion-dollar shelter system.
The agency also singled out the attorney general as having the power to "bring action to enjoin, void or rescind" improper insider deals at nonprofits
"These are precisely the kinds of abuses the attorney general is supposed to investigate," said Republican Saritha Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor looking to unseat James in Tuesday’s general election.
"Yet while other watchdog agencies have exposed serious misconduct, Letitia James has refused to hold these operators accountable.
"The fact that individuals tied to these [three] organizations have contributed thousands of dollars to her campaigns raises serious questions about whose interests she is protecting," added Komatireddy, who has previously accused James of not holding other troubled homeless shelter providers accountable.

Have the IRS assign some very serious, very aggressive auditors to look into this.
