Hegseth fires top Pentagon war planner Brett Sylvia in latest military shake-up
[NY Post] Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired the Pentagon’s top military planner, a defense official said Wednesday, the latest in a series of generals to be ousted and one that comes even as President Trump is weighing renewed strikes on Iran in the eight-month-long war.

Army Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia was removed as head of strategy, plans and policy on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

He is the second general to be ousted from the post, known in military circles as the "J5," under Hegseth.

His predecessor, Lt. Gen. Joseph McGee, was forced to retire last October.

The defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive personnel matters, said there is no immediate replacement for Sylvia and no reason has been given for the firing. The move was reported earlier by The Atlantic.

A spokesperson for the Joint Staff said "the Chairman, the Joint Staff, and the Joint Force extend our deepest gratitude to Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia and his family for their 32 years of distinguished service to our nation" and they "wish him and his family the best."

Typically, the J5 director and their staff are responsible for generating and coordinating military plans with both the chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the president.

Sylvia’s firing comes as Trump has repeatedly floated starting new military operations against Iran.
Courtesy fo Skidmark, Fox News adds:
War Secretary Pete Hegseth fired one of the Pentagon’s senior strategic planners amid an investigation into allegations he leaked classified information to journalists about the Iran war, Russia’s war in Ukraine and other sensitive matters, a Department of War official told Fox News.

The official said Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia failed three polygraph examinations related to alleged disclosures of classified information. The investigation has been referred to the Justice Department.
Failed THREE Poly's? Perhaps firing him is not enough.
Sylvia is also accused of meeting journalists outside the Pentagon with the alleged intention of leaking classified material after Hegseth imposed new media restrictions requiring reporters to be escorted inside the building.

Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell said the personnel action followed "an extensive Air Force OSI investigation," though he did not identify Sylvia by name in his statement or provide further details about the investigation.

Parnell issued a pointed warning to those suspected of leaking classified information: "Our commitment was not an empty promise. We vowed to find you, and we meant it."

Sylvia served as director of the Joint Staff’s Directorate for Strategy, Plans and Policy, known as the J5, a senior role responsible for developing military strategy and advising the chairman of the Joint Chiefs. The J5 has been sidelined from that role since the spring, according to well-placed sources who spoke to Fox News.

The official stressed that Sylvia was not a central planner of the Iran war, which falls under U.S. Central Command and its commander, Adm. Brad Cooper.

The Atlantic first reported Sylvia’s ouster Wednesday night, citing sources who said Hegseth had lost confidence in the three-star general amid tensions with Pentagon policy chief Elbridge Colby.

Sylvia is the second officer leading the J5 to be removed under Hegseth, following Lt. Gen. John McGee. Hegseth also removed Lt. Gen. Douglas Sims, then director of the Joint Staff, earlier this year.

President Donald Trump told reporters Sylvia is going to have "big problems, long term problems" on Thursday.

Hegseth has previously alleged leaks within his own senior ranks. Three Pentagon officials were removed amid a leak investigation last year, though they denied wrongdoing and said they were never told what they were accused of leaking.

Somalia Enters a New Chapter as UN Political Mission Ends After Decades of Support
[GaroweOnline] The United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia will conclude its mandate on Oct. 31, ending a two-year transition phase as the country assumes greater responsibility for peacebuilding and state-building efforts, the United Nations said Monday.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
’ front man, Stephane Dujarric, said the mission would end its operations in accordance with Security Council resolutions and a request from Somalia’s federal government.

The closure marks the end of more than three decades of United Nations missions supporting peacebuilding, governance, state-building and reconciliation in Somalia, Dujarric said.

Under a transition roadmap agreed by the United Nations and Somali authorities, the mission’s responsibilities have been transferred to Somali institutions and UN agencies, funds and programs operating in the country.

The handover is intended to strengthen Somalia’s national ownership of its peacebuilding and state-building agenda as the government takes on greater responsibility for work previously carried out under the mission’s mandate.

Guterres praised progress in peacebuilding and security in Somalia over recent decades and commended the resilience of the Somali people despite persistent political, security, humanitarian and development challenges.

The secretary-general also called for continued international support to consolidate progress, promote inclusive political dialogue and reconciliation, strengthen institutions, and protect human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
, Dujarric said.

The end of UNTMIS does not mean the United Nations is withdrawing from Somalia. The organization will continue its work through agencies, funds and programs based in the country, in cooperation with Somali authorities, the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
and other international partners.

That support will focus on peace, stability, human rights and sustainable development, while backing Somali-led efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous future.

The transition comes as Somalia continues efforts to strengthen its federal institutions and improve security amid an ongoing insurgency by the al-Qaeda-linked bully boy group al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
The closure of the political mission marks a change in the way the United Nations supports Somalia, with future assistance increasingly delivered through its country-based agencies and development programs.

Russian Spy Satellites Helped Iran’s Allies Strike Saudi Oil Pipeline, AP Reports

Geneva-based AURORAH Geosignal Intelligence reviewed 40 missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia by the Houthis and Iraqi militias between July 1 and October 19. In every case, the firm said, Russian government and military satellites massed over the targets for days before and after the strikes. Founder Nawaf Obaid called it a "100% match."

The clearest case was the September 10 drone attack from Iraq on three pumping stations of the East-West Pipeline, which halted oil flow on the 1,200-kilometre line. The pipeline has been Saudi Arabia’s vital alternative export route while Iran

attacks shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Obaid said 11 Russian Cosmos 2600 series satellites had focused on those sections since July.

About a week later, the Houthis struck King Fahd Air Base in Taif, damaging an Italian Eurofighter Typhoon, according to Italia’s Defense Ministry. Obaid said hitting the Italian jet rather than Saudi aircraft at the same base pointed to intelligence the Houthis and Iran do not have on their own.

The official briefed on Saudi investigations said intelligence showed Russian satellites helped the attacks on the pipeline. The official said they also aided Iran’s own strikes in March on Prince Sultan Air Base, where a U.S. surveillance aircraft was badly damaged, and on a CIA unit in the U.S. Embassy compound in Riyadh. Houthi missiles and drones contained Russian- and Chinese-made parts, the official said.

A senior Houthi leader said Iranian advisers in Yemen give the group targeting data based on Russian satellite intelligence. Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Rayed Krimly said last week that Iran and the Houthis receive intelligence from elements in Russia and China.

Russian officials did not immediately comment, and the AP report carried no response from Tehran. Moscow has repeatedly denied giving Iran military or intelligence support. AURORAH acknowledged it has not intercepted any transfer of intelligence and bases its conclusions on satellite movements. Obaid advised Saudi officials from 2004 to 2016.

Earlier reports by Ukrainian intelligence and CNN

Putin stated Russia's readiness to help Africa in the fight against terrorism
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on August 28 that Russia is ready to assist Africa in the fight against terrorism.

"We are ready to continue to assist our African partners in combating such universal challenges and threats of our time as terrorism, cross-border crime, and drug trafficking," Putin noted at a meeting with the leadership of leading African organizations.

He added that Russia is also open to dialogue on issues of peace and security, resolution and prevention of crisis situations.

On the same day, Russian Ambassador to Bamako Igor Gromyko stated that Russia will continue to assist Mali in strengthening the country's security and defense capabilities. He has repeatedly stated that Moscow supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity of the Republic.

In April, Afrika Korps units helped Malian authorities repel an attempted coup. Around 12,000 militants, trained with instructors from Europe and Ukraine, simultaneously attacked several cities across the country, including Kidal. Russian troops engaged the attackers and helped maintain control of the capital.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that African countries are increasingly recognizing the terrorist nature of the Kyiv regime. She cited the decision by the authorities of Niger and Mali to sever diplomatic relations with Ukraine as evidence of this.

Zakharova added that Kyiv made a conscious choice to help terrorists at a time when the international community is advocating for the need to fight this evil.

Putin used an African proverb to describe Russia's relations with the continent.

Russian President Vladimir Putin quoted an African proverb at a gala reception for guests from Africa in the Kremlin on October 28, illustrating Russia's relations with the continent.

"Africans have a good saying: when the roots are deep, there's no reason to fear the wind. Indeed, no matter how the world changes, no matter the political or economic situation, the spirit and principles of Russia's relations with African countries remain unchanged," the head of state noted, addressing the participants of the third Russia-Africa Summit.

Putin also emphasized that Russia and African countries are true friends and reliable partners. Both sides are always open to honest, constructive cooperation and are able to listen and hear each other. This allows us to consistently expand cooperation in all areas and find solutions to key challenges, the Russian leader concluded.

The third Russia-Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum will be held in Moscow on October 28–29.

Europe
Europe's Muslim Population Has Surged Since 2000, And Forecasts See More Growth To Come
[ZERO] According to data published by La Razón, cited by La Gaceta, the number of Muslims in Europe has jumped from roughly 15 million around the year 2000 to approximately 32.5 million today (excluding Russia and Turkey).

Statistics from the Pew Research Center align with this upward trajectory, reporting that Europe's broader Muslim population - including Russia - climbed to 46 million in 2020, a 16 percent increase from 2010.

Spain has experienced a pronounced increase in its Muslim demographic. Data from the CEU-CEFAS Demographic Observatory shows that Spain's Muslim population reached between 2.4 and 2.5 million by early 2025, accounting for roughly 5 percent of the total population. Within this group, an estimated 1.79 million are first-generation immigrants, while 680,000 were born in Spain to at least one Muslim parent.

But Spain is not alone. Italy's Muslim population has reached about 2.7 million. In Sweden, Muslim residents doubled from roughly 4 percent to 8 percent between 2010 and 2020, while Germany saw this demographic hit 7 percent of its overall population by 2020. In the U.K., census data for England and Wales saw the number of Muslims increased from 2.7 million in 2011 to 3.9 million in 2021.

Even without any further migration, Muslims are expected to increase their share of populations across Europe simply because they have higher birth rates than native ethnicities.

Data from Pew Research previously cited by Remix News estimated the number could triple to 75 million Muslims in Europe by 2050 if they manage to maintain a high birth rate and immigration rates continue their pace. Some are actively cheering on such an expansion, with Muslim influencer Mohammed Hijab
…the overeducated son of Egyptian immigrants who fancies himself a public intellectual and apologist for Islam, who since 2015 has been whipping up Moslem crowds and debating anti-Islam personalities along the lines of Mr. Murray, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Jordan Peterson. His real name is Mohamad Nabil Hegab…
even stating in a reply to Elon Musk on X: "Muslims of the West, get married and have many kids try and aim for 5 minimum that is what these fragile far-right anti-Muslims hate the most."

Meanwhile, birthrates are plummeting for local populations. Thilo Sarrazin, the former Bundesbank board member who authored the 2010 book "Deutschland schafft sich ab" ("Germany Is Abolishing Itself") now predicts that by 2070, 80 percent of births will be to non-German mothers.

There are no more Charles Martels, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar's or King John III Sobieski's, you stopped creating them as you abandoned your culture to diversity, immigration and "tolerance".

Turkey warns if Israel attacks its territory, Geography will change in 24 hours

Text:

Turkey warns if Israel attacks its territory, Geography will change in 24 hours.

Former and retired Turkish staff Colonel Dr. CaglarOzer stated that if Israel makes a madness of physically attacking Turkey, Israel's Geography would change within 24 hours and Turkish commanders would be drinking their coffee in Tel Aviv.

He framed the remarks as a stark warning and Turkey's military is ready and such an attack would be serious mistake.

That's the report

The statement is a warning not a realistic military plan. Israeli and Turkey do not share any border, meaning a ground invasion by Turkey would require use of Syria or Mediterranean sea.

Turkey is NATO member and has larger number conventional weapons while Israel has a highly advanced defense systems, air power and nuclear deterrence.

Map animation provided illustrates confrontation between Turkey and Israel.
That’s how Turkey imagines it would go after they purged all their Gulenists, whose version of Islam demands they become their very best, most capable selves. After Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, I imagine that Israel imagines things very differently. Nobody important in Turkey has a cell phone, right? Or a counterintelligence directorate for Mossad to have taken over years ago… Just checking.

US Plans Deportation of Detained Afghans to Pakistan, Bloomberg Reports
The United States is preparing to deport a group of detained Afghan nationals to Pakistain, including relatives of Afghans who worked with the US military before the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
takeover, according to a Bloomberg Law report published on October 26. The potential deportation flight has not been officially announced and is expected to take place in the coming weeks.

The report said some Afghans held in US immigration detention had been told by immigration officers that they could soon be sent to Pakistain or Afghanistan. The intended destination and final arrangements for the flight remain unclear.

AfghanEvac, an advocacy organization supporting Afghans who assisted US forces, said it had received at least 30 reports since October 14 concerning possible transfers or deportations. The reports involved 15 detention facilities across 11 US states, according to the organization’s October 26 update.

The organization has urged US authorities to clarify where the detainees will be sent and ensure they have an opportunity to explain any risks they could face if returned. It has also advised detained Afghans to seek legal assistance and clearly communicate any fear of persecution or torture before removal proceedings are completed.

The reported plans have raised particular concerns for Afghans who assisted the US military and their family members, some of whom fear reprisals if returned to Afghanistan under Taliban rule. Sending detainees to Pakistain could also expose them to the risk of onward deportation to Afghanistan, where their safety concerns may remain unresolved.

The concerns come amid Pakistain’s continuing campaign to return Afghan nationals. In an October 2026 update, the UN refugee agency and the International Organization for Migration reported thon the lam numbers of Afghans had returned from Pakistain, including people deported across the border. The agencies have called for protection considerations for Afghans who may face risks upon return.

In a separate case reported by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named last month, the US administration deported an Afghan man to the Central African Republic despite his lawyer’s statement that he had judicial protection against deportation to Afghanistan because of the risk of persecution. The case highlighted wider concerns raised by advocates over US deportations of migrants colonists to countries other than their own.

As of October 27, the potential flight to Pakistain had not been publicly announced by US authorities. The destination, timing and legal circumstances of the reported removals remain unconfirmed.

Albania formalizes role in Gaza force, Kosovo says troops ready to deploy amid delays
Checking in with the Board of Peace.
[IsraelTimes] US-backed Board of Peace says Albania to send liaison officers to region in November; Kosovo ministry tells ToI its explosives disposal team is ready, but awaits green light

Albania finalized its participation agreement with the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
over the weekend, with Albanian liaison officers expected to deploy to the region in November, according to a statement from the US-backed Board of Peace.

The development marks another small step toward assembling the multinational force meant to patrol the Strip under US President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
’s 20-point peace plan, whose implementation has largely stalled amid disagreements over Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
’s disarmament, Israeli troop withdrawals and the force’s deployment.

The agreement, signed on Friday at a ceremony attended by ISF commander US Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers and senior Albanian defense officials, commits Albania to providing "security operations support and operations planning capabilities" for the ISF mission in Gaza. The Board of Peace, which is tasked with overseeing the postwar Gaza plan, did not specify how many personnel Albania intends to contribute or when they might enter the Strip.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats grabbed for his rosco...
Kosovo’s Defense Ministry told The Times of Israel this week that it is ready to deploy troops to Gaza, but that their arrival depends on the ISF’s readiness to receive them.

Kosovo’s planned contribution includes an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team, as well as a contingent commander serving as liaison officer and additional staff personnel, the ministry said in a written response to questions, without stating the total size of its contingent.

"Kosovo’s EOD team is ready and will deploy once ISF is prepared to receive it. The timing of deployment will be determined by ISF, in coordination with the relevant authorities and in line with mission readiness," the ministry said, adding that partner forces conducted training for Kosovar personnel in May, following an April 26 reconnaissance visit to Gaza by a Kosovo Security Force team to assess the area where its troops are expected to operate.

"The specific tasks of Kosovo’s personnel will be defined in coordination with ISF as the mission develops," the ministry said.

Kosovo formally signed its participation agreement with the Board of Peace and ISF on September 7, joining Morocco, Kazakhstan and other countries that have committed troops to the force, though the ISF’s deployment has faced repeated delays.

A small delegation of soldiers from Kosovo arrived in Israel in July, a month after a similar delegation arrived from Morocco, as part of preliminary preparations for the mission.

A Board of Peace official told The Times of Israel last week that up to 500 Moroccan personnel have also undergone ISF-led training since late August.

The growing preparations come despite continued uncertainty over when the ISF will begin operating in Gaza. Under the US-backed plan, the ISF is intended to help secure areas vacated by Israeli troops, support the disarmament process, train Paleostinian police and protect humanitarian operations, while facilitating the entry of a committee of Paleostinian technocrats meant to govern the territory.

In July, Israel’s security cabinet approved a legal framework for the limited entry of a contingent of roughly 200 international troops, subject to further Israeli approval. The force was initially expected to secure a proposed pilot humanitarian zone in the Rafah area of southern Gaza.

However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
no operational deployment has taken place, with the Board of Peace struggling to secure Israeli approval for several key elements of the plan, including a proposed ISF base near the Yellow Line on the Israeli-controlled side of the Strip.

The Board of Peace official expressed hope last week that progress would speed up following Israel’s elections this week, saying that the Board continues working with Israeli authorities despite political pressures surrounding the vote.

Disagreements remain between Israel and the Board over the sequencing of Israeli withdrawals and Gaza’s reconstruction, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserting that Hamas must be fully disarmed and Gaza demilitarized before either proceeds, while the Board has been pushing for a phased withdrawal tied to verified disarmament.

in June 2025, one of the main reasons was to overwhelm and confuse the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), former Mossad chief David Barnea has revealed.

Leaked on Sunday from comments he made to a closed audience at the Priority Summit this past Thursday.

On June 13, 2025, the Mossad released sensational and rare video footage of its co-lead role with the air force in Israel’s preemptive strike on Iran’s ballistic missiles and air defenses.

Three videos showed the Mossad targeting ballistic missile targets, air defense targets, and general preparations for the attacks (with the agents’ faces covered up).

From the perspective of the videos, it appeared that the Mossad used drones from inside Iran to attack various targets.

Iran had previously accused the Mossad of using drones to attack the Karaj facility in June 2021 as well as other operations.

MOSSAD'S WAREHOUSE OF DRONES USED TO SABOTAGE IRAN
It was later confirmed that the Mossad used an entire warehouse of drones to attack and sabotage Iran, along with helping with a large number of remote-controlled vehicles attacking regime targets, and a significant number of human agents on the ground also assisting in liquidations.

Although far more information was quickly publicized about the IDF’s actions, these videos gave readers a rare front-row and real-time seat into what normally were entirely clandestine operations which the Mossad would not even admit to.

Barnea said at the Priority Summit that the video was deliberately published to trigger mass arrests and make it more difficult for the IRGC to identify actual Israeli agents.

"One of the reasons we immediately released an official video on the morning of Operation Rising Lion, with the Mossad logo, was to protect the agents who were there," Barnea said in a video which Yediot Ahronot shared, and regarding which the Jerusalem Post confirmed the authenticity. "We wanted to make sure they arrested so many people in Iran that they wouldn’t be able to distinguish the wheat from the chaff and would eventually release everyone," adding that Iran did release all of the detainees.

IRGC ARRESTED OVER 20,000 PEOPLE ON SECOND DAY OF WAR
The former Mossad chief said that the IRGC arrested 21,000 people on the second day of the fighting.

"You have to imagine that when you arrest 21,000 people, even if you’ve caught an agent or two, eventually you have to release them because everyone’s story will be the same: I was walking down the street, I was driving a car, they arrested me," he said, emphasizing that the IRGC would have no way of knowing who was a real agent with such a vast number of detainees,

Barnea added that many of those arrested or executed by the IRGC as "Mossad agents" had nothing to do with the agency.

In addition, he said that nearly all of the Mossad agents were never caught, and at the end of the June 2025 operation, he even publicly taunted the IRGC, issuing a statement, "We will [continue to] be there, like we have been there."

His explanation may close the book on the unexplained mystery of why the Mossad would have risked broadcasting some of its agents’ actions in real time during the June 2025 operation.

In September 2025, the Post reported exclusively that dozens of Mossad women penetrated Iran and were on the ground performing a variety of kinds of operations during Israel’s attacks on Tehran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs in June 2025.

While the Mossad does not want to bring too much attention to any one sub-group of potential spies, the Post’s impression was that the Mossad women of 2025 were doing more of every kind of spy role as compared to their sisters of yesterday.

In that same September report, the Post noted that Barnea sent hundreds of Mossad agents, or individuals being run by agents, into operations in Iran simultaneously. All of the varying groups of staff were highly coordinated.

The spy chief directed a project leading to a diverse spectrum of all of the different kinds of agents and backgrounds of those agents one could imagine.

On top of actual Israeli Mossad agents, the spy service has reached new levels in recruiting and training local dissident Iranian agents to act against the ayatollahs’ regime, the Post reported at the time.

While the early 2026 war with Iran is viewed by many as a mixed bag, the June 2025 war was viewed as the most successful Israeli operation of the last three years, along with the exploding beepers used against Hezbollah.

After his detention at olive harvest, Israel revokes US politician’s entry visa
[IsraelTimes] Immigration authority tells Brad Lander, Democratic nominee for Congress in New York, and several activist rabbis their visas were canceled due to ‘change in circumstances’

Israel revoked travel authorizations for several American rabbis, activists and Jewish New York politician Brad Lander
…described memorably by the New York Post as “Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s ball boy who broke hard left in a desperate bid for electoral relevance” as he runs for the job of congressman for Lower Manhattan and a corner of Brooklyn, trying hard to square the circle of rabid Democratic Party Jew-hate and Jewish Zionist constituents…
following their work last week with Paleostinians harvesting olives in the West Bank.

Emails from Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority, shared with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, told the recipients that their electronic travel authorizations had been "revoked" following "a change in circumstances in your case." No further reason was given.
“We don’t want your vicious nonsense. Get lost.”
A spokesperson for Lander, a Democratic congressional candidate whose detention by Israel last week sparked an international uproar,
…giving him exactly the anti-Israel credentials he’d come for, like young gangbangers getting their first jail sentence…
confirmed to JTA that his ETA had been revoked following his detention.

The spokesperson added that Lander "intends to try to get it back" in order to join a planned congressional delegation with the liberal Zionist lobby J Street
… the very first Soros-funded anti-Israel front group, originally intended to replace AIPAC in American affections, but now satisfied to be a speciality anti-Israel figleaf for the haters, since they get paid every week anyway…
in February 2027. Lander is widely expected to win his race next week given that his district is heavily Democratic.

In a longer comment to the left-wing magazine Jewish Currents on Tuesday, Lander said Israel’s actions were "petty" and "one small step in this much larger infrastructure of occupation and ethnic cleansing."
Of course he did. He has a reputation to create.
The travelers had been working at a Paleostinian olive farm near an Israeli settlement when they were detained by Israeli authorities. T’ruah, a rabbinic human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
group,
…T’ruah is one of those terribly Zionist “Yes, but” groups. They love Israel in a totally Zionist way, if only those horrid Israelis who live there weren’t doing everything wrong, being so mean to the poor, suffering Palestinians, which is why they’re in the Soros stable of anti-Israel front groups…
and the other participating Jewish groups said they were there to help Paleostinian farmers harvest olives that the farmers had been unable to access for three years, since the Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
-led terror attack of October 7, 2023, sparked a war.

Rabbi Jill Jacobs, CEO of T’ruah, told JTA that she estimated "more than half" of the approximately 60 Jews detained last week have had their ETAs revoked over a span of several days. Some received notice while still in Israel, though they were allowed to leave without incident.

"It feels pretty random," she said.
Nonetheless, it was completely targetted. How much else are you lot wrong about?
Jacobs said that number includes Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist rabbis, as well as progressive Jewish activists. Also joining the olive harvest group were Israelis who had grown up in West Bank settlements and others who had lost family in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, according to a fellow participant.

Foreign visitors are required to hold ETAs to enter Israel. They are typically acquired by tourists, volunteers and business travelers for short-term stays. The process to apply for one is usually quick, involving the payment of a small fee online, and applicants tend to be approved within hours.

It is highly unusual for Israel, which allows almost anyone who can demonstrate Jewish heritage to become a citizen, to take steps to restrict the travel of Diaspora Jews. The government has been cracking down more in the last year on ETAs for visitors who protest in the West Bank, Jacobs said. Israel over the weekend denied entry to Rabbi Alissa Wise, an American who leads the left-wing group Rabbis For Ceasefire,
…founded in 1988, funded by the EU, Spain, and the UK, since 2002 their activists were hunan shields for the Arab olive harvest in the West Bank at the request of a Palestinian peace activist — which means the PLO. Of their membership, only about 100 are rabbis or rabbinic students. In other words, one of the EU’s weapons in their cold war against Israel, and should be treated accordingly…
Wise told the Religion News Service.

Jacobs said Israel’s actions toward the American Jewish clergy in the group were especially troublesome to her in light of right-wing targeting of liberal Jewish movements in the country.

"They’re saying, ’Actually, we only want Jews who have certain political positions. This is not going to be a safe place for all Jews,’" Jacobs said. "They’re saying, ’We actually don’t care about the mainstream of American Jewry.’"

Representatives for Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority, which processes ETAs, did not return a JTA request for comment, although the country held a national election on Tuesday, which is marked as a holiday.

Rabbi Marisa James of Congregation Beit Simchat Torah in New York was among the clergy to have their ETAs revoked following their detention. James told JTA that she received the notification while at the airport on Sunday, preparing to leave Israel.

"It’s just so sad to me," James said. Her ETA had been valid through March 2027. For Jews traveling to Israel in the past, she said, "there’s never really been a political litmus test."

James lived in Jerusalem for five years, working for part of that time with Encounter, a progressive group that arranges tours of the West Bank for American Jews. In her many times crossing into the territory, she said, she had never before encountered resistance from the Israeli military, until last week’s harvest.

She said the military had shown up at the harvest site to turn the activists away. They held James and her fellow international activists for several hours, though Lander was released quickly.

A statement earlier this week from the government office said Israel had deported 11 visa holders, including Americans, from the country following festivities with the Israel Defense Forces during a different protest in Hebron.

The Jews who had their ETAs revoked are allowed to reapply for new authorizations but are unsure of what would happen if they did. Jacobs said she was "hopeful" that a new Israeli government would grant authorizations to the group if they were to reapply.

"I hope there will be a government that actually cares about its relationship with Diaspora Jews," she said.

Just prior to her ETA being revoked, James had been cheering on Israelis arriving at the airport to cast election ballots. Israel does not have absentee voting, and many Israelis assume that the tens of thousands of citizens who have arrived there in recent days are motivated by opposition to the current government.

James, too, is hopeful that a new Israeli government would be friendlier to progressive Jewish visitors whom she says are trying to fight for a better future for the country.

"We feel deeply connected to the place and deeply invested in its future," she said. "I always grew up thinking, well, that’s what they want, right?"

Hamas said to threaten Oct. 7-style attack over IDF advance in Gaza, PA’s nixed election
Missed this a week ago.
[IsraelTimes] Senior officials in terror group asked UN humanitarian coordinator to convey the unusually blunt threat of an attack in Israel, West Bank or abroad, COGAT chief reportedly says

Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
reportedly told a UN official earlier this month that it was prepared to carry out an October 7-style attack in Israel, the West Bank or abroad, following the IDF’s expansion past the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
ceasefire line and the Paleostinian Authority’s cancellation of legislative elections in November.

UN humanitarian coordinator Ramiz Alakbarov was said to convey the message to Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj. Gen. Yoram Halevy, who wrote Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz that the threat was unusually blunt.

According to an excerpt published by Channel 13 Saturday from Halevy’s memo, Alakbarov said he met in his Gaza office two weeks ago with senior Hamas officials who asked him to convey to Israel that "IDF activity in the Gaza Strip, the moving of the Yellow Line, and the cancellation of the elections by the PA are leading Hamas to lose control in the field."

The Yellow Line separates Israeli forces from the Hamas-controlled area in the Strip’s west under the ceasefire deal that Israel and the terror group agreed to last October, two years after the Hamas-led onslaught that sparked the Gaza war.

Seeking to assure international backers that the PA could govern postwar Gaza, PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....>
had set legislative elections for November 28, but earlier this month postponed them until September 2027, citing "obstacles posed by Israeli measures."

The PA has not held legislative elections since 2006, when Hamas won and then violent mostly peacefully ousted Abbas’s Fatah faction from Gaza.

The excerpt published by Channel 13 said Hamas officials "made clear" to Alakbarov that "they are unwilling" to put up with the Israeli encroachment and with the suspension of PA elections.

"Against this backdrop, they threatened that, as they see fit, Hamas is ready to again carry out an attack such as the October 7 attack, and that it is prepared to act in this vein on any front in which this becomes possible," in Israel, the West Bank or abroad, according to the excerpt.

It added that "this is an unusual threat message, which hasn’t been previously conveyed in this level of bluntness and directness."

The Israeli security establishment is checking whether the threatened attack is feasible given the IDF’s presence in the Gaza Strip. Israel currently controls over 60% of the territory, with Hamas the de facto ruler of the rest.

The Ynet news site, which first reported the message from Alakbarov, said Israel’s security cabinet was briefed that Hamas has ramped up preparations for renewed fighting, including by stockpiling weapons and moving them to civilian areas.

Hamas assumes Israel’s hands are tied on launching a large-scale operation until after the November 3 US midterm elections, Ynet said.

Implementation of US President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
’s peace plan for Gaza has stalled, with Hamas refusing to disarm and Israel refusing to withdraw from any part of Gaza until that condition is met.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pond, the enormous newt was trying to decide if Gloria was edible...
the IDF has steadily expanded its control westward of last year’s ceasefire line, and continues to carry out daily strikes on what it says are terror operatives readying imminent attacks.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran's hidden web of military agencies is slipping hardware past the US blockade
[Reuters] Iran has created a secret network of military agencies with global reach to import at least $2 billion in hardware, explosives and heavy-duty trucks since January 2025, evading both the US naval blockade and Western sanctions, a Reuters investigation has found.

Hidden behind names starting with the letters MOD, for the Ministry of Defense, are more than 5,000 agencies that form a formidable financial and military machine. Their financial footprints are on bills of lading and other shipping data dating back to 2016. Some are tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and to business conglomerates known as bonyads that are controlled by Iran's elite.

The findings offer a window into one of the war’s great mysteries: How is the IRGC replenishing its missile and drone arsenals while firing them in their thousands?

In the 18 months from January 2025 to June 2026 – including four months into this year’s war – a single one of these agencies, MOD 346428, imported huge quantities of rocket propellants, explosives and weapons components that are critical for making drones and missiles, as well as heavy-duty trucks that can serve as missile launchers. The hardware came in by land, sea and air – much of it recorded as originating in China, Russia and Germany.

This investigation of the MOD network is based on thousands of Iranian bank and government records, corporate filings and import data.

The secret agencies all share the same Tehran address as Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, or MODAFL. They list their incorporation date as February 11, 1979, the day Ayatollah Khomeini took power in Iran after overthrowing the monarchy. Most were actually established in 2013, the records show, as Iran struggled under sanctions that saw its crude exports and currency plunge.

The agencies, identified for the first time by Reuters in collaboration with the Israeli-American risk consultancy 240 Analytics, form the backbone of Iran’s military procurement and sanctions evasion apparatus. They operate a web of frontmen and foreign shell companies, collectively known as trustees, who use the proceeds from illicit oil sales to buy goods for the Islamic Republic.

Senior military leaders involved in Iran’s ballistic missile and drone programs use the network. Phone numbers registered to 91 of the agencies also appear in records from state-run Bank Sepah of IRGC personnel with accounts there. Among them are at least two commanders the US has accused of abuses against civilian protestors.

While Iran’s military has been under multiple US sanctions for decades, Reuters could find no evidence that any of the numbered agencies referenced in the documents have been designated by Western governments.

“What you have here is the regime's military lifeline during this conflict and for many years before,” said Miad Maleki, a former senior official at the US Treasury Department who helped design the American sanctions program against Iran. “This is the complete ecosystem of the Iranian military’s trade business.”

The weapons import network has provided many of the raw materials Iran needs to make missiles and drones. Those munitions are responsible for Iran’s relentless precision attacks against Gulf energy infrastructure, allowing the Islamic Republic to blunt America’s military assault. In other reports this year, Reuters has shown how Iran withstood US pressure by exploiting crypto exchanges and illegal gambling networks to tap illicit revenues and circumvent sanctions, how the IRGC consolidated control of the Strait of Hormuz, and how the war has ushered in a new era of repression.

Maleki was one of four experts on Iranian sanctions and weapons who reviewed the Reuters findings and confirmed that many of the materials could be used in Iran’s missile and drone programs.

In tracking the materials, Reuters cross-checked a portion of some 19,000 import records using the shipping documents, footage from social media, and state media reports. Nearly all of the items that Iran imported were exempt from duty and specifically marked as military equipment, the data shows. The experts noted that much of the material, even explosives, can be considered dual-use, and so could also have civilian purposes.

The Wall Street Journal reported some of the shipments from China on September 23.

The secret military agencies form a foreign-trade system parallel to the formal global economy that allows Iran to spend the money it earns abroad selling illicit oil on military hardware, said Maleki, who was the associate director of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control until last year.

Money rarely crosses borders, where it might trip a sanctions alarm. Instead, for 97% of the shipments Reuters reviewed, the transactions were settled “without currency transfer,” the import data shows. Trusted frontmen in the diaspora, using cash held in foreign banks, bought the goods and shipped them home.

One end user of the network is the military unit overseeing Iran’s ballistic missile program. Another is Sahara Thunder, which was sanctioned by the US in 2024 for manufacturing and supplying drones to Russia that have devastated Ukraine. Reuters and 240 Analytics identified the Iranian military units by cross-referencing the import data with corporate registry filings, and emails and documents compiled on the website WikiIran.

Reuters could not determine the identities of the people who run WikiIran, a website that solicits leaked documents from the Islamic Republic and says it is operated by Iranians opposed to the government and “forced into exile.”

During the first six months of this year, according to the import data, deliveries included $1.9 million worth of detonators, tonnes of explosives, aircraft engine parts, rocket fuel ingredients and heavy-duty launch vehicles. All could be used as key components to build and fire ballistic missiles and drones including the Shahed series, according to weapons and sanctions experts.

Lebanon's Mossad hysteria: Palestinians with Israeli phone country code spark fear in Beirut
[Npost] Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned what he described as “moral bankruptcy” surrounding the detention of the two Palestinians from Ramallah.

Rumors that two Israeli Mosssd
...sees all, knows all, gets 'em all in the end...
spies had been captured in Leb
...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade....
were "fake news," Lebanese officials said on Sunday, seeking to quell panic sparked by the detention of two Paleostinians whose phone numbers had the Israeli national telephone code of +972.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned what he described as "moral bankruptcy" surrounding the detention of the two Paleostinians from Ramallah, according to a statement released by Lebanon’s Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

Salam’s office said hostile parties had fueled the rumors in a "cheap attempt to tarnish the reputation of the president of the Council of Ministers and mislead public opinion." It added that security forces had investigated the two men and found that both had entered Lebanon legally and had visited the country previously.

The Lebanese independent news outlet Beirut Time reported on Sunday that there were claims that two Mossad agents had been staying at the Lancaster Eden Bay hotel in Beirut under Ottoman Turkish passports.

PALEOSTINIAN MEN USE ISRAELI PHONE NUMBERS FOR LEBANON HOTEL RESERVATIONS
Suspicion reportedly arose after the two Paleostinian men used Israeli phone numbers to make a reservation. An Uber driver and hotel staff reportedly contacted the authorities, prompting an investigation.

The following day, rumors circulated that Salam had deported the two men rather than ordering their detention, prompting outrage among anti-Israel voices in Lebanon.

Anxieties surrounding Israel’s Mossad in Lebanon have seemingly grown since the pager plot in September 2024, when thousands of rigged pagers went kaboom! across Lebanon and Syria, wounding and killing thousands of Hezbollah terrorists. Though Hezbollah acknowledged that the majority of those injured and killed were members of the Iran-backed group, a number of civilians were also reported to have suffered life-altering injuries.

Iran to mobilize millions of school students for weekly ‘death to America’ rallies
[Rudaw] Iran’s Education Ministry said Monday that it had directed schools nationwide to mobilize millions of students for weekly rallies against the United States and Israel, to be held every Wednesday evening in city squares and streets.
and human shields
The weekly rallies are part of Iran’s broader program for the Week Against Arrogance, which culminates on November 4, known officially as the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance. The commemoration is associated with the 1979 takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran by students who supported the Islamic Revolution and the 1964 exile of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran’s first supreme leader.

Education Minister Alireza Kazemi said instructions had been sent to schools nationwide for student gatherings to be held "every Wednesday evening in city squares and streets," the state-run Islamic Theocratic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported Monday.

He said Wednesday was chosen because it "falls toward the end of the week and gives students more opportunities to attend." He added that "responsibilities had been divided among student organizations to ensure the program could be implemented in a coordinated manner across the country."

in the 2026—2027 academic year, with more than nine million of them enrolled in primary schools, reported Tasnim News Agency, an outlet affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The plans also include a nationwide march, cultural and educational activities in schools, and the ringing of an "Anti-Arrogance Bell" in more than 124,000 schools ahead of next Wednesday’s commemoration of the 1979 takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran.

Kazemi said November 4 held particular importance for the education system, describing the day and the Week Against Arrogance as an educational opportunity to familiarize students and future generations with what he called "global arrogance and the Israeli regime."

Describing the 12-day war as "complex enemy plots
They're everywhere! They're everywhere!
" and the 40-day war as "the Ramadan War," Kazemi said this year’s circumstances and the Iranian people’s resistance had increased their responsibilities during the Week Against Arrogance.

On November 4, 1979, a mob of Iranian students seized the US Embassy in Tehran, demanding that Washington return Iran’s ousted monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was admitted to the United States for medical treatment.

The takeover began a 444-day hostage crisis, during which 52 Americans were held until their release on January 20, 1981. The event became a defining episode in the breakdown of relations between Washington and the newly established Islamic Theocratic Republic.

2 Iranian officials confirm Tehran preparing to target US diplomats, personnel – report
[IsraelTimes] Following disclosure of US intelligence on stepped-up preparations, unnamed officials tell NY Times targets seen as ‘fair game’ because of US-Israeli assassinations

Two Iranian officials, one of them a Revolutionary Guards member, confirmed to The New York Times

on Saturday that the Islamic Theocratic Republic is preparing to target US diplomats and personnel, the newspaper said.

The unnamed officials US officials were seen as "fair game" given the number of Iranian officials and their relatives that the US and Israel have killed.

A US official was also quoted by the Times as saying there was evidence Tehran has operatives in the US who are "not just simply Iranian nationals."

The Times report came days after US national intelligence chief Jay Clayton warned in a memo to Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Iran responded with deadly ballistic missile strikes on Israel and Arab US allies, and by blockading the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial conduit for oil shipments. The US launched its own blockade on Iranian shipping in April, days after the war entered a shaky ceasefire.

Peace talks between the US and Iran have stalled amid intermittent sparring over control of the Strait.

The Times reported on Wednesday that the US and Israel had drafted plans for resumed fighting after Israel’s Knesset election on Tuesday and the US midterm elections on November 3, to secure more leverage in negotiations on reopening the strait.

Report: Trump warned Gulf states against a short, focused war with Iran
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[KAN] According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the US military has moved a Patriot missile system to the Gulf and instructed soldiers at bases in the area to leave - fearing escalation.

By Yehezkel Kornberg

US President Donald Trump has warned the Gulf states of a short, focused war with Iran, which will take place after the midterm elections in the United States - this was reported tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday) in the Wall Street Journal.

The US military has reportedly moved a Patriot missile system from Texas to bolster defenses in the Gulf, and ordered troops at bases in the region to leave, fearing an escalation. It has also been reported that US forces in the region are replenishing their weapons stockpiles, and that an aircraft carrier and another Marine unit are expected to join the 20 warships already operating in the Middle East next month.

Trump has not yet decided whether to authorize the strikes, but he is leaning toward a major attack after the US midterm elections, which could be directed against infrastructure and nuclear sites in Iran, according to the report.

The report comes after Israeli sources told Haaretz yesterday that the possibility of a confrontation with Iran after the Israeli elections exists - but depends on the United States. According to the sources, Israel's intention is to take a joint step with the Americans, if the decision on the matter is made by President Donald Trump.

#1  The headline and the first paragraph do not match:
Trump warned Gulf states against a short, focused war
vs
Trump has warned the Gulf states of a short, focused war

The first one means don't do it, the other is about what is going to happen.

#2  US moves Patriot missile defense system from Texas to Israel ahead of possible Iran strike - report

Washington has reportedly warned several Gulf Arab countries to prepare for a short, intense military campaign against Iran following the midterm elections, according to people briefed on the conversations.

Additionally, US forces have been replenishing their munitions stockpiles, while officials said bomber aircraft and fighter jets are being prepared for possible strikes.

Israel has chosen targets in Iran And could be preparing a 'Fast And Furious' aerial blitzkrieg

Text:

🇮🇱 Israel Has Chosen Targets In Iran And Could Be Preparing A “Fast And Furious” Aerial Blitzkrieg

Let me put it this way, if these reports are accurate, Iran could be in for a very ugly first few hours.

Look back at the recent Israel Iran war. Israel didn’t just go after air defenses and military infrastructure. It also went straight after senior Iranian leadership, with top commanders eliminated in the opening hours.

The same logic could be seen again, hit the leadership and command structure, tear open the air defense network, then unleash waves of fighters.

A new opening barrage could involve long range weapons such as Golden Horizon, ROCKS, Rampage, Air Lora and Ice Breaker, targeting leadership, IRGC command centers and air defense sites.

Then comes the fighter force.

F-35Is and F-15s carrying JDAMs and SPICE series precision weapons could exploit the gaps created by the opening strikes.

The idea is brutally simple, decapitate the command structure, blind the defenses, open the skies, then hammer the targets.

If Israel actually executes this plan, the opening phase could be one of the most intense aerial campaigns the region has seen.

Fast. Furious. Relentless.

#1  A lot of targets are difficult to get at.

Hope Israel has improved both weapons and tactics since the previous active phase.

Iran face a choice: Inspections or another war

Text:

🚨 IRAN FACES A CHOICE: INSPECTIONS — OR ANOTHER WAR

Axios reports that Iran is expected to put a Qatar-led nuclear proposal before Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in the coming days.

The reported framework:
• UN inspectors gain access to Iran’s bombed nuclear sites
• Iran receives limited sanctions relief
• Tehran gains access to some frozen funds

But the alternative could be military escalation.

According to U.S. and Israeli officials cited in reports, if diplomacy fails, preparations are being made for a renewed U.S.-Israeli bombing campaign after the U.S. midterm elections.

The diplomatic window may be closing.

#1  Wall St. Journal:

America’s Military Presence Reshapes Hormuz

Progress is undeniable, and there is a clear explanation.

As your editorial highlights in “The Democratic Hormuz Alternative” (Oct. 16), some are ready to declare defeat and hand the Strait of Hormuz to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

But the tide is beginning to turn in the battle for the Strait of Hormuz—thanks to the U.S. military. It is performing two tasks superbly and simultaneously: the implementing of a naval blockade of Iran and facilitating the export of non-Iran oil through the Strait of Hormuz.

Excluding humanitarian shipments, the naval blockade has largely prevented Iranian imports or exports by sea, depriving it of $25 billion in crude-oil export revenue. That makes it more difficult for Iran to fund domestic repression, bankroll international terrorism and rebuild its military.

Meanwhile, about 400 merchant ships have sailed through the Strait of Hormuz, while U.S. forces have helped Gulf partners ship more than 100 million barrels of crude oil over seven days. That’s possible because the U.S. military has decimated Iran’s navy, cleared the strait’s international shipping lanes of mines and degraded Tehran’s missile and drone capabilities.

It is too soon to declare mission accomplished. But progress is undeniable, and there is a clear explanation: the capability of the U.S. military.
