[FoxNews] Former president Barack Obama claims Trump admin is pursuing an 'unsubstantiated theory' about Ilhan Omar's age at naturalization.
Former President Barack Obama accused the Trump administration of weaponizing the federal government against its political enemies in a social media post defending Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., amid an investigation into the progressive lawmaker's citizenship.
Obama claimed the administration is attempting to strip Omar of her U.S. citizenship and deport her over her criticism of President Donald Trump, warning that the effort could set a dangerous precedent.
"It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say," Obama wrote Sunday on X. "But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota."
Obama's remarks come after federal agents searched Omar's Washington, D.C., home as part of a criminal investigation into her immigration status.
Sources previously told Fox News Digital that investigators are examining whether Omar or her father committed fraud on immigration paperwork when she became a U.S. citizen decades ago.
Obama defended the circumstances under which Omar became a U.S. citizen, saying, "To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts."
Obama then said Omar arrived in the United States with her father at age 12 and automatically became a citizen at 17 when her father was naturalized.
The former president accused investigators of pursuing an "unsubstantiated theory" that Omar was actually 18 at the time, which he said would have required her to apply for citizenship separately.
[Just The News] os Angeles County prosecutors reviewed a case involving former Rep. Eric Swalwell to determine whether criminal charges were warranted following a sheriff’s department investigation, according to NBC News.
The county district attorney’s sex crimes unit received the case on Sept. 21 after an investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a spokesperson told NBC News.
Prosecutors have not announced whether they would file charges.
Swalwell, a California Democrat, resigned from Congress in April and withdrew from the state’s gubernatorial race following multiple allegations of sexual assault and misconduct. He has denied the allegations against him.

Just like the DOJ "could" prosecute for CA election fraud, LA will "consider" going after swawell. Good headline, but no action. How about the DOJ and the LA prosecutor just shut up with the headlines until they file charges...,

[JTN] “The legal consequences for either facilitating or ignoring a federal crime are significant,” McCotter wrote
The Trump administration is intensifying its clash with California over election procedures, warning state and local officials they could face criminal investigations and prosecution if they knowingly count ballots cast by suspected noncitizens in federal elections.
In a letter sent on Friday, acting Deputy Attorney General Trent McCotter cautioned California election officials that processing ballots from individuals identified by federal agencies as potentially ineligible voters could expose them to criminal liability.
The letter, first obtained by The Associated Press, came one day after the Justice Department sued California in an effort to block the state from counting mail ballots submitted by individuals the federal government has identified as “likely” noncitizens until their immigration status can be verified.
“The legal consequences for either facilitating or ignoring a federal crime are significant,” McCotter wrote, emphasizing that noncitizen voting in federal elections is illegal and that knowingly assisting such conduct can also constitute a crime.
McCotter further warned that election officials who knowingly tabulate ballots cast by individuals identified by federal agencies as noncitizens could risk being prosecuted as aiders and abettors.
The warning marks another escalation in the administration’s dispute with California, a Democratic-led state that has repeatedly clashed with President Donald Trump’s administration over federal policies.

1. There is absolutely no evidence of non-citizen voting
2. There is only a small amount of non-citizen voting <== YOU ARE HERE
3. Non-citizen voting isn't really that bad and doesn't change anything
