DOJ Uncovers North Korean Network Stealing Jobs and Money From Americans
[PJMedia] The Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged a dozen people involved in schemes to obtain remote IT positions in America using falsified identities in order to funnel revenue to the tyrannical Communist dictatorship in North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
(DPRK).

The DOJ announced coordinated actions in Texas and Ohio on October 13, including the seizure of 187 computer devices and charges against a dozen people — most of whom are Chinese — related to remote IT worker schemes. "North Korea’s rogue regime uses its pervasive IT worker schemes to raise revenue for various illicit purposes, including the development of weapons that could ultimately target the United States or its allies," said Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg. "These schemes threaten the security of the IT systems and data of the deceived U.S. employers and leave countless victims of identity theft."

Scams like this not only redirect money to America’s enemies; they also take away jobs that ought to go to American citizens. It is still a tough job market out there for many people my age, and too many companies are failing to catch fraudulent applicants and slacking off on background checks.

So we are talking about a domestic crisis and an international crisis. "This investigation is about far more than fraud," said U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould for the Northern District of Texas. "It is about a hostile foreign regime infiltrating American companies through stolen identities and covert access points inside our own borders. Every laptop farm we dismantle shuts down a revenue stream that the North Korean government relies on to fund weapons programs that threaten global stability. Operation Lonestar Roundup sends a clear message: we will not allow enemies of the United States to exploit our businesses or compromise our national security."

The DOJ said that the scam impacted over 70 American companies and generated $3 million in revenue.

According to the indictment, from 2019 to around July 2025, DPRK IT workers applied for and obtained remote positions by using stolen or fabricated identity documents, virtual private networks and proxy infrastructure to appear as though they were U.S. persons working from within the United States. They also relied on U.S.-based controllers who received and hosted multiple laptop computers — issued by victim U.S. companies — at their residences in the United States ("laptop farms"), housed and configured those devices, installed remote-access software and transferred earnings to DPRK-controlled accounts.

Global Christian Relief lists North Korea as one of the worst countries in the entire world for persecution of Christians. Human rights experts claimed at the beginning of this year that "North Korea operates the most extensive system of political imprisonment and forced labour in the world, incarcerating an estimated 80,000 to 120,000 people in political prison camps (kwanliso) where prisoners are subjected to forced labour, systematic torture, starvation, and public execution." The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) states that North Korea uses cyber warfare against America, with hackers even allegedly stealing military secrets to boost a secretive nuclear program.

Day 2: Oregon school shooter, 16, who murdered four and shot girl, 7, in wheelchair is pictured
Day 1 can be seen here.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A teenager mass murderer was so determined to gun down little kids at his old elementary school that even being shot at didn't stop him.

Griffin John II, 16, killed three children aged five, eight, and 11, and their 25-year-old teacher at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on Thursday afternoon.

He also critically wounded a 54-year-old teacher and shot a seven-year-old child who uses a wheelchair in the face, both of whom are still in hospital.

The twisted teen fired as many as 15 shots during his rampage and had 44 left when he was finally shot dead, police said.

John fired on everyone inside a special education class, where he himself was a student when he attended the school as a young child.

He was so hell-bent on targeting his former class that when he was fired upon when he tried to enter the front door, he ran around to the back entrance, police said.

John - who was not enrolled in a Bend public school at the time - traveled to Silver Rail Elementary on foot.

He first threw the Maverick 88 12-gauge pump-action shotgun over the fence before jumping over - but found himself blocked from entering.

John was fired upon by hero dad Kalub Giamanco - who would later shoot the teen dead - and blocked by another bystander's van that he riddled with bullets.

Instead of giving up, he ran to the back entrance and blasted his way through a 'safety vestibule' system designed to keep children at the school safe from school shooters.

The school resource officer was not at the school at the time of the shooting, authorities said. They said the officer oversees around six other buildings and was at a nearby school.

Police were unsure how John was able to get his ammunition, stating the investigation was still 'very active.'

Five weeks before he went on his shooting rampage, the teenage mass killer stared at a camera with a murderous gaze.

John was gangly with a patchy mustache and goatee and looked sullen in a haunting photo posted by his mother Shauntai Nickerson last month.

Nickerson told a TV station in 2020 that she was pleased students were going back to the classroom as her son was struggling with distance learning during Covid lockdowns.

'I think it will be great for Griffin, because I am not certified teaching a special needs student,' she told KTVZ 21.

'And I think it will be great for my son to get the help that he needs from the skilled teachers that he needs to get it from.'

The future murderer was in the NEST (Nurturing Empathy Safety and Trust) program, which helped special education students 'experiencing intensive behavioral and social skills challenges'.

The first victim of the shooting was named as five-year-old Rhoam Summer.

Summer's teacher has been identified as 25-year-old Meghan Lambert of Bend, while the other child victims will not be named at this time out of respect for the victims' families, Bend police said at a press conference on Friday.

The family of Lambert, in a statement read by officials, said she grew up in Bend, graduated from Boise State University and had a passion for sports, especially volleyball, and was a local coach.

They said she was funny, opinionated, 'fought for the underdog' and 'those with special needs'

'Meg loved those children,' the family said.

John used his mother's shotgun to carry out the massacre, which police said was bought about the time of his 16th birthday.

Nickerson, 43, a medical aide at Touchmark Living Centers, has a long list of traffic violations and was charged with DUI at 1.37am on July 29, 2018, by local police in Bend.
Highly stressed, exhausted, living on her nerves — all reasons to over- or under-react when driving. Or possibly she’s just not a good driver…
She was also convicted of harassment in 2023 with a second charge of fourth-degree assault from the same incident dismissed.

Nickerson insisted to reporters who confronted her outside her home in Bend that her son was 'a good boy' and she would have stopped him if she could.

John II's motive is unknown, but he attended the school as a child before moving on to the local high school.

Police raided John II's family home on Thursday night, seizing computers and other electronic devices. Family was said to be cooperative.

John II was shot dead minutes after he began his rampage by Kalub Giamanco, 36, a dad of two children at the school who heard the gunshots as he drove home for his lunch break.

Giamanco's wife Kelsey and brother Kyle, along with several of his friends, confirmed he was the hero who intervened by running inside the school.

He holds a concealed carry permit and is friends with the family of the seven-year-old in the wheelchair who was wounded.

Giamanco shot John II dead within moments of the massacre beginning just before 1pm on Thursday.

Europe
Watch: Migrant Mobs Are Terrorizing German Children At School
[ZERO] A young German student was punched, kicked in the head, and left defenseless on the ground by a mob of roughly ten youths outside the Heinrich-von-Kleist School in Frankfurt (Oder) this week. The attack is part of a widespread pattern of mobs of feral migrant background youths attacking German children.

The attackers filmed the assault and released it with a gangster rap soundtrack. Police are investigating ten suspects aged 13 to 15 of Syrian, Chechen, Polish, Russian, and German nationality on charges of aggravated assault and robbery.

Videos circulating on social media, which authorities have confirmed as authentic, show the student being confronted and asked for something. He displays empty pockets before one of the group punches him in the face.

The rest of the mob then joins in with punches and kicks, including to the head, continuing the attack after he falls to the ground.

The victim suffered facial injuries and reported the incident to police the same day.

Headmaster Sören Schunke stated that the attackers were not students at his school. Officers later carried out an operation at the nearby Ulrich von Hutten High School linked to the case.

Frankfurt (Oder) Mayor Axel Strasser said in a statement: "What was done to a young person here in Frankfurt (Oder) leaves me speechless. It hurts to have to witness such violence. And it makes me angry that a youth has to experience something like this."

He added that this level of organized youth violence was previously unknown in the city and that it would not be tolerated. Strasser has spoken with Brandenburg Interior Minister Jan Redmann and arranged security talks involving police and school authorities.

The incident occurs against a backdrop of repeated group attacks in the neighboring city of Potsdam. Redmann has described a wave of predominantly migrant-linked youth violence there, including Syrian suspects.

On September 25, roughly 20 people, mostly migrants, entered a private party uninvited and attacked guests. The following day a group of about 25 assaulted three youths. Additional attacks in early October left victims with head injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Authorities are monitoring a group of roughly 25 mostly migrant suspects; two alleged ringleaders are in pretrial detention and police presence has been increased.

Redmann has said foreign perpetrators, particularly Syrians whose protection status can be revoked, could face deportation: "Whoever comes to Germany and simply has no respect for Germany, we will not tolerate that. The rule of law has the final say."

Defense firm Elbit Systems expands operations in Europe with new Swedish facility
Is siting in Sweden — or anywhere in Western Europe — wise? Look what happened in England last year.
[Jpost] Elbit Systems' new Swedish facility aims to expand its European presence, strengthen local manufacturing, shorten delivery times, and improve support for defense customers.

Elbit Systems Sweden AB announced on Wednesday that it plans to establish the Israeli defense company's first European production and maintenance center for laser warning systems (LWS) in Sweden, as part of efforts to strengthen European defense manufacturing and support the security needs of NATO member states.

The facility, expected to become operational in 2027, will provide local integration, assembly, maintenance, and long-term technical support for laser warning systems supplied to European customers.

The establishment of local production capabilities also comes as European countries increase defense spending following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and pressure from US President Donald Trump for NATO allies to raise their military expenditure. Local manufacturing could strengthen Elbit's position in European defense procurement programs that prioritize domestic or regional industrial participation.

The planned facility will focus on Elbit Systems' next-generation passive laser warning systems, designed to immediately detect and locate laser threats directed at military platforms. The technology provides crews with additional time and operational flexibility to deploy protective measures.

Armed forces worldwide already deploy Elbit's laser warning systems as key components of advanced self-protection suites for military aircraft, vehicles, and other platforms.

Established in 2020, Elbit Systems Sweden has become an increasingly important part of the company's European operations, employing more than 100 people across the country. The subsidiary serves as a regional hub for Elbit's activities in Northern Europe and works closely with Sweden's defense industry.

In recent years, Elbit Systems Sweden has supported the Swedish Armed Forces through advanced defense and digitalization programs, strengthening its position as a long-term industrial and technology partner.

The expansion follows other Elbit initiatives in Europe. In June 2026, the company conducted major demonstrations of its digital battlefield networking capabilities in Sweden for representatives of NATO militaries and European defense companies.

Elbit has also expanded its European business through defense contracts involving Greece and Sweden, reflecting growing demand for Israeli-developed military technology and locally supported defense systems.

Government Corruption
American Universities Are Corporatized Grant Money Factories That Rely On Cheap Foreign Labor
[Federalist] You have to count, or none of it makes sense. Remember that Congress created the H-1 labor category in the 1950s to allow temporary labor from foreign experts "of distinguished merit and ability," after which Congress created the H-1B visa in 1990 to allow visiting workers to do scientific and technical work in the U.S. that requires "theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge."

The premise of the H-1B visa is that it allows the rocket scientist who lives overseas to come contribute to American industry for a while, doing highly specialized work that no American is able to do. It was created as a gap-filler, a way of importing brilliant minds for work that requires esoteric knowledge. With that in mind, look at this H-1B application from Stanford University:

Since Stanford is specifically looking for a Financial Analyst 3, you can look at the skill level and job duties associated with that category and level by looking for other help-wanted ads for Financial Analyst 3 positions at the same university. Here’s one. It requires a bachelor’s degree and an ability to perform "accounting-focused analysis," with "strong Excel skills."

There’s apparently not a single American who has a bachelor’s degree and understands accounting, so Stanford has no choice but to import a foreign laborer to fill in this extraordinarily technical knowledge gap. And, I mean, knowledge of Excel? Of course you have to look overseas for so rarefied a skill. May I interest you in buying the Brooklyn Bridge?

At his recent press conference on the abusive corporate use of foreign labor visas, Vice President J.D. Vance mostly talked about this topic: the H-1B visa, the general specialized labor document. And universities are very much implicated in that discussion.

But the other kind of temporary labor visa that he discussed is also important. It’s the J-1 visa, and it allows universities to import foreign laborers for temporary work as researchers, usually in STEM fields.

Georgia sets new early voting record, participation strong in other key battleground states
[Just The News] Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said on Wednesday that the record-breaking turnout proves that "voters have confidence in the integrity of our elections." Several of the country's races are considered "dead heats" or within the margin of polling error, and the impact of high early voter turnout remains to be seen.

Georgia voters set a new record for the first day of early voting in a midterm election this week, casting more than 188,600 ballots in-person as control of Congress hangs in the balance.

According to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office, a total of 188,667 Georgians voted in person on October 13, which was about 40% more than the 134,962 voters who cast early in-person ballots on the first day of the 2022 midterm elections. In 2018, the comparable figure was 70,849.

Why American doctors travel to Israel for Magen David Adom training
[Jerusalem Post] MDA’s International Seminar brings American physicians and paramedics to train with Israel’s first responders to see how the country handles emergencies on a scale few medical professionals encounter.

The call was for a young man having a heart attack in an apartment near Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

Dr. Michael Block, an American anesthesiologist, was riding with a Magen David Adom ambulance crew alongside his son, Evan, an EMT. The team started an IV, called ahead to Ichilov, and rushed the patient to the hospital.

They didn’t take him to the emergency room. He went straight to the catheterization lab.

"He would have died had we not gotten there so fast," Michael said. "The way that it was organized was just incredible. It doesn’t happen in [the US]."

Jeff Covitz had a similar reaction when he came to Israel.

A paramedic captain with the San Francisco Fire Department, Jeff has spent years working on mass-casualty training and policy. He knew Israel handled major emergencies differently. He wanted to see how.

"We run out of ambulances in San Francisco on your average Tuesday," he said. "How do they get 30 ambulances to the scene in 10 minutes? That’s amazing."

He was particularly struck by the speed. In an incident with 20 casualties, Jeff said, Israeli teams can sometimes triage, treat, and transport everyone from the scene in under 15 minutes.

Fein Tools - The Oldest Power Tool Brand Still Operating Today
[AI Search] Are FEIN tools American made?

No. FEIN is not an American-made brand. FEIN (C. & E. Fein GmbH) is a German company founded in 1867 and headquartered in Schwäbisch Gmund, Germany. The company is widely known for inventing the first electric hand drill and for its MultiMaster oscillating tool.

According to FEIN, its largest production site is in Germany, and more than 90% of its products are manufactured in-house. FEIN states that this is part of what it means by its "Made in Germany" approach.

That said, FEIN does have operations in North America, and some products or components may be assembled or sourced from multiple countries. If you're looking for a tool that is specifically made in the USA, it's best to check the country-of-origin label on the individual FEIN model you're considering.

If you're looking for truly American-made power tools, I can also point you toward brands and product lines with significant U.S. manufacturing.
