Troops Rescue 27 Kidnap Victims, Including Six-Month-Old Baby, in Katsina

By Zagazola Makama

Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation FANSAN YANMA have rescued 27 kidnapped victims, including a six-month-old infant, following a gun battle with suspected terrorists in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The operation was conducted by troops of the 17 Brigade under the Joint Task Force (North West) after receiving a distress call from residents of Gamji community at about 12:25 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2026, reporting the activities of suspected terrorists in the area.

Security sources said the troops immediately mobilised to the community but the suspected terrorists had fled into the surrounding bushes with their captives before the soldiers arrived.

The troops subsequently launched a pursuit through Gangare Village towards Kamba Village, where they made contact with the fleeing suspects at about 6:05 p.m.

The soldiers engaged the suspected terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon the captives and flee in disarray into the surrounding bushes.

A subsequent search of the area led to the successful rescue of all 27 victims, comprising 15 males and 12 females, including the six-month-old infant.

The rescued victims were later handed over to the village head of Gamji, Alhaji Falalu Suleiman, following preliminary investigations.

Yemeni forces break into Houthi-held area

🚨🇸🇦🇾🇪 BREAKING: YEMENI FORCES BREAK INTO HOUTHI-HELD TERRITORY FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2021

Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces have reportedly entered Majzar district in northern Marib for the first time since 2021, marking a significant territorial advance against the Iran-backed Houthis.

The advance is part of Operation Dawn of Yemen, the Saudi-backed offensive aimed at retaking territory controlled by the Houthis.

According to Saudi newspapers Okaz and Ajel, government soldiers pushed into the district after capturing strategic positions along Marib’s northern front. Troops have reportedly begun clearing villages and surrounding hills, removing mines left behind by retreating Houthi forces.

Kohat Police Lines attack mastermind killed in joint operation in KP's Lakki Marwat: CTD
[Dawn] The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) said on Friday that its personnel had killed a terrorist commander in a joint operation with security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat on Friday.

The CTD said in a statement that the slain terrorist, whom the law enforcement department identified as Zahid Gul, was the criminal mastermind of the attack on Kohat Police Lines.

In the attack on Sept 18, an explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a mosque in Kohat Police Lines, following which bully boyz stormed the compound and attacked police facilities. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 17 coppers and six civilians.

A total of eight bad boyz were potted during the overnight clearance operation following the deadly two-pronged assault.

The CTD statement said it conducted the joint operation in Lakki Marwat’s Walai Sagai area on Friday.

"During the operation, a high-profile terrorist commander, Zahid Gul, who was affiliated with the khawariji Gul Bahadur group and the main criminal mastermind behind the suicide kaboom on old Kohat Police Lines, was eliminated", it added.

According to CTD, the slain terrorist commander had led the explosive-laden vehicle to Kohat Police Lines on Sept 18.

The statement said he was also wanted by security forces in connection with several other acts of terrorism.

It added that he was also involved in a bank robbery in Balitang area of Kohat, in which Rs6 million was looted. The stolen money was subsequently distributed among terrorist factions based in the Bakakhel and Janikhel areas of Bannu, the statement said.

The slain bully boyz remained in contact with the terror outfit, the Hafiz Gul Bahadur

group, and had been involved in facilitating the arrival of multiple jacket wallahs in Kohat.

"Two months ago, he had brought a suicide bomber intended for an attack on the new Kohat Police Lines — a plot that was thwarted", the statement said, adding that he also planned to attack a Pakistain Air Force (PAF) facility and a police training school in Kohat.

"Other operatives belonging to this terrorist network are already in law enforcement agencies’ custody," it said.

According to a recent report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies, Pakistain recorded a sharp 83 per cent increase in violence-linked fatalities during the third quarter of 2026, reversing a declining trend reported in the first and second quarters as terrorism and counter-terrorism deaths surged nationwide.

had been arrested during intelligence-based operations across the province.

They said around 90 arrested murderous Moslems were being held at a centre where investigations and legal proceedings were underway.

This was stated by Shahid Rind, adviser to the Balochistan chief minister on media and political affairs, during a media briefing alongside Additional Chief Secretary Hamza Shafqaat and Quetta DIG Imran Shaukat.

Mr Rind said police, security forces and other law enforcement agencies had conducted intelligence-based operations across Balochistan, killing several murderous Moslems and prompting others to surrender to the state. He said two commanders of a banned organization had been arrested in Shaban and Khadkocha, along with six TTP murderous Moslems and two would-be exploding trollop female suicide bombers.

CM’s aide says six TTP terrorists, two would-be exploding trollop female suicide bombers and two commanders of a banned outfit arrested

Mr Rind said the state remained willing to give those who abandoned militancy and accepted Pakistain’s Constitution and laws an opportunity to return to normal life. He cited the example of Shahab, a resident of Panjgur, who had reportedly joined a banned organization through social media.

He said the government had introduced programmes to encourage young people who had joined gangs to abandon militancy and return to mainstream society with the help of their families, political representatives and district administrations.

Mr Rind said counterterrorism operations would continue in coordination with the federal government under the provincial action plan.

Mr Shafqaat said the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces had arrested Niaz Jatoi and Habibur Rehman, residents of Kardgap, in August following a heightened threat alert. He said their arrests had foiled a planned terrorist attack in Quetta on Aug 14 as part of "Herof-3".

Weapons and explosives, including hand grenades and light machine guns, allegedly being transported from Chagai to Quetta, were recovered, while the vehicles involved were also seized, he added.

Mr Shafqaat said the provincial government had enacted 16 laws and established 17 departments over the past two years. He added that rehabilitation efforts were also underway for detained murderous Moslems, citing previous cases in which individuals, including Khadija Baloch, had been rehabilitated and reunited with their families.

DIG Imran Shaukat said the CTD and other law enforcement agencies had conducted 3,300 intelligence-based operations across Balochistan, arresting more than 300 suspected murderous Moslems and killing hundreds.

He said police capacity had been strengthened, but two security personnel had been killed in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

IDF destroys dozens of monuments honoring terrorists during West Bank counterterror operations
[Jpost] The monuments and signs, frequently created to glorify terrorists deemed to be “martyrs,” were destroyed as part of the IDF’s efforts to thwart terrorism and crack down on violent incitement.

Over the past two weeks, the IDF destroyed dozens of monuments and signs commemorating snuffies during multiple counterterrorism operations across the West Bank, the military announced on Friday.

The operations focused on targeting hubs associated with various terrorist organizations involved in inciting terrorism and supporting Hamas

’s October 7 massacre.

The monuments and signs, frequently created to glorify snuffies deemed to be "deaders," were destroyed as part of the IDF’s efforts to thwart terrorism and crack down on violent mostly peaceful incitement.

Over the course of the five operations, the IDF searched thousands of locations, arresting dozens of wanted individuals and issuing multiple warnings.

Israeli troops also seized thousands of shekels in terror-related funds and weaponry, including handguns and drones.

In a statement regarding the operations, the IDF vowed to continue carrying out counterterror measures and combatting incitement in the West Bank in pursuit of safeguarding the security of Israeli citizens.

IDF BUSTS TERROR FUNDING FRONTS IN WEST BANK
On Wednesday, the IDF announced that it had conducted raids on multiple alleged charities in the West Bank that acted as funding fronts for terrorist organizations, including Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine (PFLP).

Five terrorist collaborators were arrested during the raid, and computers, documents, and checkbooks bearing Hamas-associated markings were seized as evidence.

#3  I've visited the Israeli Cemetery for the "Last of Kin". 148 graves for soldiers who died in the war of 1948 - and were the sole remaining members of their families after surviving the ghettos and concentration camps. It was very moving. They fought for many different groups - the Palmach, the Irgun, the Haganah, the Stern Gang.

Israel has chosen to deliberately desecrate the monuments of what their enemies consider to be martyrs. I can understand the visceral satisfaction that must have given the troops.

It'd be prudent for the IDF to balance Psalm 55:15 off against Job 31:29-30. I recognize the patrons of Rantburg back the IDF 99% of the time. Just good to remember that every action has consequences in this world and the next.

Gaza: IDF eliminates commander of elite cell who breached Re'im camp during the October 7 massacre

Translated Text:

#BREAKING | To Remove the Threat: Defense Army Eliminates Commander of Elite Cell Who Breached Re'im Camp During the October 7 Massacre

⭕️ The Defense Army attacked the day before yesterday (Wednesday) in southern Gaza Strip, and eliminated the skilled saboteur Walid Omar Al-Husayni, commander of an elite cell in the military wing of the terrorist Hamas movement.

⭕️ The saboteur breached Re'im Camp during the October 7 massacre.

⭕️ In recent times, the saboteur worked to advance terrorist plots against Defense Army forces and citizens of the State of Israel, and sought to rebuild the military capabilities of the terrorist Hamas movement, in systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement. He was eliminated in an airstrike to remove the threat.

⭕️ Defense Army forces under Southern Regional Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement, and will continue operations to remove any immediate threat.
Earlier Friday, the military said a strike it launched the day before in northern Gaza killed Mohammed Mohammed Abd al-Khalek Hala, who it identified as a Hamas commander in the terror group’s weapons production division, who invaded Israel on October 7.

The military said Hala produced various weapons and advanced “the military buildup of the terror group across the Gaza Strip.”

A separate strike on Thursday in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis killed Ahmad Jabrin Tawfiq Dalha, a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, according to the IDF.

Both terror operatives had been advancing attacks on troops and Israeli civilians and were attempting to restore the capabilities of the two terror groups, “in systematic violation of the ceasefire,” the IDF said.

About 400 merchant ships transit Strait of Hormuz over past week: CENTCOM
[Rudaw] US forces have assisted regional partners in shipping over 100 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz over the past week as 400 merchant ships navigated the waterway, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Friday, amid its ongoing blockade on Iranian ports.

"Over the last seven days alone, about 400 merchant ships have sailed through the Strait," said CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper in a video message shared on X, adding that US forces "assisted Gulf partners in shipping over 100 million barrels of crude oil during the same period."

Cooper noted that the volume adds to the "1.3 billion barrels of crude we have helped regional allies ship through the Strait in recent months."

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical energy corridors, carrying roughly one-fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments before the US-Israeli war with Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
that began in late February.

Washington reinstated a blockade on southern Iranian ports in mid-July, stating that restrictions would only be lifted if Tehran ceased targeting transit vessels, while Iran has sought to leverage its contested control of the waterway in talks with the US.

Cooper explained that in recent months, CENTCOM and American interagency partners have targeted the Islamic Theocratic Republic and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) across three key sectors: petroleum exports, digital assets, and payroll for security personnel.

According to the commander, joint efforts have blocked Iran from exporting a minimum of $25 billion worth of crude oil to date.

CENTCOM has additionally aided partner agencies in seizing nearly $350 million in cryptocurrency holdings, which Cooper stated has limited Iran's capacity to finance operations or rebuild targeted industrial and weapons facilities.

The commander said compounding economic measures have forced Iranian authorities to suspend salaries, pension disbursements, and standard employee benefits across several industries, including energy, manufacturing, construction, domestic security, and the IRGC.

Cooper added that, as a result of this mounting pressure, Tehran-backed regional gangs are also failing to disperse wages to their own forces.

'Strait of Hormuz remains open for business,' CENTCOM chief says as pressure mounts on Iran
[Jpost] US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief Adm. Brad Cooper said the US and its regional partners were in full control of the Strait of Hormuz and that mounting military and economic pressure on Iran was showing results, in an update posted on X/Twitter on Friday.

"Let me be clear: The Strait of Hormuz is controlled by the United States and our regional partners, not Iran," Cooper said, adding, "It remains open for business."

Cooper said US forces had cleared naval mines from the strait and maintained a naval blockade, severely disrupting Iranian trade and increasing economic pressure on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which he said was showing signs of growing desperation.

Syrian authorities arrest suspected ISIS cell in Damascus countryside
[North Press] Syria’s Interior Ministry announced on Friday that the General Intelligence Service, in coordination with Internal Security Forces, had arrested a cell affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) that was allegedly planning to target a police patrol in Damascus countryside.

The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects identified by the initials M.K. and A.H., and the seizure of an explosive device prepared for detonation, according to statements published by the Internal Security Forces on their official accounts.

The ministry said the relevant authorities were continuing to question the suspects to establish the circumstances of the alleged plot, identify its connections and scope, and take the necessary legal measures against them.

Clashes between Kurdish militants and IRGC continue in western Iran
[Rudaw] Clashes between Kurdish militants and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) began on Thursday and have continued into Friday in western Iran’s Kurdish region, particularly around the Shaho mountain range, where Iranian forces have deployed heavy artillery and drones to pound the mountainous area.

The fighting comes as Iran grapples with armed insurgencies on two fronts: Kurdish militants in the west and Baloch armed groups in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported Thursday that IRGC forces had deployed heavy military equipment and drones around Daleh Marz village in Sarvabad county, launching artillery and drone strikes against the Dasht-e Qalb area of Shaho mountain.

According to local sources cited by the watchdog, the IRGC has also prohibited access to parts of the mountain range and used suicide drones to target the area. The IRGC has not confirmed these claims.

Shaho mountain forms part of the Zagros Mountains range that spans 1,600 kilometers stretching across Kurdish majority provinces in western Iran and the Kurdistan Region.

The protected mountain range has repeatedly come under Iranian bombardment in recent years, causing forest fires and environmental damage. Following similar reports of fire-starting in August in the nearby county of Kamyaran, IRGC forces claimed these actions were intended “to prevent Kurdish opposition party forces from using vegetation cover to carry out attacks.”

These events follow a further expansion of security forces in the Kurdish area since the first quarter of this year and the beginning of the US-Iran war.

Clashes in the Kurdish region and in Sistan and Baluchestan come at a sensitive time when Iran is engulfed in confrontation in the Strait of Hormuz with the US, as the US-imposed blockade since mid-July has depleted Iran’s economic resources and brought oil exports to zero.

Meanwhile, violence has intensified in Sistan and Baluchestan, where Baloch militants have carried out a series of deadly attacks against Iranian security forces in recent weeks.

On September 23, militants killed IRGC Brigadier General Hossein Zarifi, commander of the Shahid Sajjad Operational Base in Saravan, and intelligence chief Ahmad Herati Zera’ati during heavy fighting.

On Friday, Lieutenant Colonel Nosrat Eftekhari Poudineh, deputy for cultural and social affairs at the provincial police command, was killed in a roadside bombing near Zahedan. Five days later, Afsaneh Aqila, commander of an all-female Basij unit, was shot dead in Mehrestan.

The latest escalation in the Kurdish region follows months of insecurity since the US-Israeli war against Iran began in late February.
