[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The mountainous city of Taif is only 70 kilometers away from the holy city of Mekkah. This is why the missile attack targeting it two days ago is a new and dangerous development in the ongoing war in Yemen. It serves a reminder that the struggle in Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... is regional and vindicates Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... ’s position that the war has been directed against it since the beginning.

I am so old that I remember the SCUD drinking game, if Wolf Blitzer said SCUD it was down the hatch. I really think he had them confused with the SS-18 Satan.
[nextBIGfuture] At one point I had concerns about AI because if you replace brains and then all of a sudden companies with people lose money and the machines do everything for us and we have no jobs left, I thought that way and then I totally reversed myself for a lot of reasons. One being that Moore's law isn't going to make those machines smart enough to think really the way a human does.
Another is when machines can out think humans they can't be as intuitive and say what will I do next and what is an approach that might get me there. They can't figure out those sorts of things.
Wozniak thinks the biggest impact on humanity in the next couple of decades will come from areas that we can apply artificial intelligence. Wozniak is leaving out biotech and quantum computers because he is not close enough to those areas.
Virtual reality is another area that Wozniak thinks will be big.
He thinks machines might become independent thinkers. But if they do, they're going to be partners of humans.
To be fair, the harnessing of our illogical functions, creativity - innovation, is a strength if most of the time a failure.
Let me know when a robot can grab a roll of duct tape and a modified trash bag to re-direct a water leak into the sump pump.
But I did like the ST:TNG episode where, and I poorly remember, a colony was dying because they become so generationally dependent upon the AI that when it broke nobody could fix it, and LaForge was like, "Come'on, I was fixing things like this in kindergarten."

I'm nervous. If robots who serve us
Determine our natural purpose
Is turning things shitty,
It sure won't be pretty
When earnest AI learns to curb us.
I have been hearing this my entire life with every new technology. It's nonsense.
When the telephone was being rapidly adopted, extrapolating forward, in 50 years, everyone would need to become a telephone switchboard operator.
And of course, computers are called computers, because large numbers of mostly women worked at manually performing complex calculations and they were called computers.
New jobs will come along. Although there some jobs that would appear to have poor future prospects - long distance truck drivers in particular.
[Mike Piotrowski-Facebook] Amb. Stevens was sent to Benghazi post haste in order to retrieve US made Stinger missiles supplied to Ansar al Sharia without Congressional oversight or permission. Hillary brokered the deal through Stevens and a private arms dealer named Marc Turi.
Then some of the shoulder fired missiles ended up in Afghanistan used against our own military. It was July 25th, 2012 when a Chinook helicopter was taken down by one of our own Stingers, but the idiot Taliban didn't arm the missile and the Chinook didn't explode, but had to land anyway. Gratuitous WSJ Jalalabad Stinger 'Arming Switch' story from 2011
An ordnance team recovered the serial number off the missile which led back to a cache of Stingers being kept in Qatar by the CIA. Obama and Hillary were now in full panic mode and Stevens was sent in to retrieve the rest of the Stingers. This was a "do-or-die" mission, which explains the stand down orders given to multiple commando teams.
It was the State Dept, not the CIA that supplied them to our sworn enemies, because Petraeus wouldn't supply these deadly weapons due to their potential use on commercial aircraft. Then, Obama threw Gen. Petraeus under the bus after he refused to testify that he OK'd the BS talking points about a spontaneous uprising due to a Youtube video. Obama and Hillary committed treason...and THIS is what the investigation is all about, why she had a private server, (in order to delete the digital evidence), and why Obama, two weeks after the attack, told the UN that the attack was because of a Youtube video, even though everyone knew it was not.
Further...the Taliban knew that this administration aided and abetted the enemy without Congressional approval when Boehner created the Select Cmte, and the Taliban began pushing the Obama Administration for the release of 5 Taliban Generals. Bowe Bergdahl was just a pawn...everyone KNEW he was a traitor. So we have a traitor as POTUS that is not only corrupt, but compromised...and a woman that is a serial liar, perjured herself multiple times at the Hearing whom is running for POTUS. Only the Dems, with their hands out, palms up, will support her. Perhaps this is why no military aircraft was called in...because the administration knew our enemies had Stingers. Most of this is old news/theory. The name Marc Turi caught my attention. He may possibly be someone to watch now that DoJ has dropped charges against him.
EXCLUSIVE: American arms dealer Marc Turi, in his first television interview since criminal charges against him were dropped, told Fox News that the Obama administration -- with the cooperation of Hillary Clinton’s State Department -- tried and failed to make him the scapegoat for a 2011 covert weapons program to arm Libyan rebels that spun out of control.
“I would say, 100 percent, I was victimized…to somehow discredit me, to throw me under the bus, to do whatever it took to protect their next presidential candidate,” he told Fox News chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge.
The 48-year-old Arizona resident has been at the epicenter of a failed federal investigation led by the Justice Department spanning five years and costing the government an estimated $10 million or more, Turi says.
Turi admits to a criminal history. He told Fox Business that in the late 1980s, he stole a computer, his roommate's car, and wrote bad checks including one for $100,000 dollars. Through court records, Fox News verified he was arrested, convicted, and served time in an Arizona jail.
"In my youth, I made some very very bad mistakes...I was discharged from the United States Navy other under than honorable conditions...and I've been fighting ever since to get that honor back."
Marc Turi is quoted as stating: "I got involved in this business in the 1990s. I've been involved in all type of operations, regarding transportation, logistics, and liaising with those foreign governments."[2]

If the Wikispooks piece is accurate, Turi is NOT someone the Intelligence Community would have anything to do with. A Turi association with Foggy Bottom is very likely another matter. Other Turi connections have yet to be revealed.
Not sure who pulled Turi into the Benghazi operation, but I suspect a simple background check terminated his involvement. A follow-up DoJ indictment help keep a thumb on him. Turi may want to keep a close eye on his 6.

A great story though, Berserker.
Turi is also a good candidate(sic) to pull it off.
He's been around for a while and commerced in some low profile environments. Not a soft target.

Does anyone know how many Stingers the terrorists Got? I have heard between 300 and 500. Even 300 is enough to shut down air travel worldwide. Posted by: Dopey Phuger3886
From what I have read, somewhere's btwn a few and a buttload.

I had a high school gym teacher named Piotrowski. His claim to fame was (according to him) being the last guy cut on one of the Boston Celtics teams, I'm guessing sometime in the '70's.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
