[Washington Examiner] A third deadline has now passed for the FBI and Justice Department to give the House Intelligence Committee subpoenaed documents related to the Trump dossier. And for a third time, the bureau has not produced the material.
The dossier is a collection of what former FBI Director James Comey called "salacious and unverified" allegations of collusion between Russia and Trump campaign figures in the 2016 campaign. The Russia allegations were compiled by a former British spy, Christopher Steele, who was commissioned by the opposition research firm Fusion GPS, which is thought to have been paid for the work by wealthy supporters of Hillary Clinton. The FBI reportedly considered taking over the dossier project in the fall of 2016, when the campaign was at its height, leading Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley to say the dossier matter raised "questions about the FBI's independence from politics."
Both Grassley and the House Intelligence Committee have been interested in learning if the FBI ever used the "salacious and unverified" dossier as a basis for requesting surveillance on anyone in the Trump circle. Those questions only intensified this week with reports that the FBI wiretapped Trump associate and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort during the transition period.
Four weeks ago, on Aug. 24, the House Intelligence Committee subpoenaed the FBI and Justice Department, seeking all internal FBI reports "incorporating, relying on, or referring to" information provided by Steele, his sources, or Fusion GPS. The committee also asked for documents on any FBI or Justice "efforts to corroborate, validate, or evaluate" Steele's information. And the subpoena sought any surveillance applications that included any information or were based on any information, provided by Steele.
Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes originally set a Sept. 1 deadline for production of the dossier documents. The FBI did not comply. Nunes then extended the deadline to Sept. 14. The FBI did not comply. Then Nunes extended the deadline again, to Sept. 22. Now, again, the FBI has not complied.

And where is the so-called Justice Department and Attorney General in all of this? Perhaps we really are a government of men vs a government of laws.
“A government of laws, and not of men.”
~ John Adams, Novanglus Essays, No. 7.
BLUF:
[Frontpage] Once Obama and his allies launched their domestic surveillance operation, they crossed the Rubicon. And there was no way back. They had to destroy President Trump or risk going to jail.
The more crimes they committed by spying on the opposition, the more urgently they needed to bring down Trump. The consequences of each crime that they had committed spurred them on to commit worse crimes to save themselves from going to jail. It’s the same old story when it comes to criminals.
Each act of illegal surveillance became more blatant. And when illegal surveillance couldn’t stop Trump’s victory, they had to double down on the illegal surveillance for a coup.
The more Obama spied on Trump, the more he had to keep doing it. This time it was bound to pay off.
Obama and his allies had violated the norms so often for their policy goals that they couldn’t afford to be replaced by anyone but one of their own. The more Obama relied on the imperial presidency of executive orders, the less he could afford to be replaced by anyone who would undo them. The more his staffers lied and broke the law on everything from the government shutdown to the Iran nuke sellout, the more desperately they needed to pull out all the stops to keep Trump out of office. And the more they did it, the more they couldn’t afford not to do it. Abuse of power locks you into the loop familiar to all dictators. You can’t stop riding the tiger. Once you start, you can’t afford to stop.
If you want to understand why Samantha Power was unmasking names, that’s why. The hysterical obsession with destroying Trump comes from the top down. It’s not just ideology. It’s wealthy and powerful men and women who ran the country and are terrified that their crimes will be exposed.
It’s why the media increasingly sounds like the propaganda organs of a Communist country. Why there are street riots and why the internet is being censored by Google and Facebook’s "fact checking" allies.
It’s not just ideology. It’s raw fear.
The left is sitting on the biggest crime committed by a sitting president. The only way to cover it up is to destroy his Republican successor.
A turning point in history is here.
If Obama goes down, the left will go down with him. If his coup succeeds, then America ends. Fits rather nicely following g(r)om's posting yesterday of "Obama's Watergate" found at this link.

It’s why Flynn was forced out using illegal surveillance and leaks. It’s why McMaster is protecting Susan Rice and the Obama holdovers while purging Trump loyalists at the NSC.

Morris and McGann provided similar insights and background into the political weaponization of the intelligence community in the closing chapters of Rogue Spooks.
Many readers at the Burg have long believed Soetoro was at least knowledgeable of this mischief if not directing it. His keeping a home in D.C. and remaining active at the fringes of the political process is somewhat tantamount to criminals returning to the scenes of their crimes.
[RT] Two days before German federal elections, Angela Merkel, who is going for a fourth term as Chancellor, found her closing campaign rally in Munich crashed by right-wing protesters, who booed and heckled her for half an hour as she made her speech.
This did not prevent the German leader from giving her prepared 30-minute speech, but she added an improvised detail as an opening remark to her opponents.
“With whistling and yelling, one will surely not shape Germany’s future,” Merkel told the protesters on the last day election campaigning is allowed to take place.
This is not the first time Merkel has been disrupted by demonstrators on the campaign trail. At a rally in Heidelberg earlier in September, the Chancellor was grazed by a thrown tomato, which left a faint, but visible, stain on her red jacket.

Union = CDU/CSU (Christian Democrat Union and Christian Social Union, in Bavaria). Used to be Conservative, but has been moved to the center-left by Merkel. CSU is more conservative than CDU
SPD = Social Democrats
FDP = Liberal Democrats (Liberal means classical liberal)
Greens = Used to be left, but part of it isn't anymore. Have a strong politically correct nanny state attitude. On local levels they can be quite ok)
Left = radical Left
AfD = Allianz für DEutschland, a new right wing party founded when the Euro crisis hit (wasn't far right then), then veered to the right. Some (but not all) members are radical right wingers.
Coalition will probably be formed by Union (black), FDP (yellow) and Greens, hence the name "Jamaica coalition"

Which would imply that Merkel stays in power.
Based on her previous behaviour I predict she'll move much further to the left in a surprising and shocking policy shift. A logical next step would be a move to create a new armed auxiliary police force recruited from among the refugees.
Whatever she may be planning, her intentions are not good. She was raised as an unorthodox theocratic Communist and she's been ruling Germany like one.

For now, probably yes.
But the CSU (I'm an active member) will not tolerate this for long. Merkel is deeply unpopular in Bavaria and is dragging down the CSU.
I now believe that the CSU, whoich has always been confined to Bavaria, may seek a national role, drain the AfD (they aren't all Nazis, of course, most are just concerned about Merkel's dismal policy), push for a better migrant policy.
We'll see. I don't think "Jamaica" will last very long.

Thank you European Conservative, You just expanded my knowledge of German politics!
Aside: many communist parties of Europe renamed themselves "The Left" after the Fall of the Wall (aka End of the Soviet Union). In my book any association who call themselves "left" or "socialist" or "environmentalist" are self-proclaimed enemies of mankind, same as communists always were.

[Breibart] During the online "Overtime" segment of Friday’s edition of HBO’s "Real Time," host Bill Maher stated that Obamacare did redistribute income and President Obama should have said so.
Maher said, "Obamacare is not putting us into the red. No. It’s actually making a little money. Because, you know, it was a redistribution of income. When they accused him that, he should have said, ’Yeah. F*ck yeah. Exactly. That’s exactly what we’re doing. We’re taking money from people who will never miss it, and giving it to poor people who desperately need it. Sue me.'"

Sorry Bill. Most people with an IQ of room temperature or above are not buying your conclusion.

[THEHILL] Former Democratic Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) tweeted that she hopes all NFL players kneel during the national anthem on Sunday in response to President Trump's remarks attacking Colin Kaepernick.
Edwards, who left Congress earlier this year, called Trump a "white supremacist who squats in our White House" in her tweet.
Trump suggested at a rally Friday night for Alabama Senate candidate Luther Strange (R) that NFL players like Kaepernick who kneel during the national anthem should be fired and fans should walk out.
"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now,'" Trump said, adding, "'He is fired.'"

They make millions and then spit on the flag. Just another liberal organization that will be bankrupt soon. In the mean time lets start the WFL (White Football League) and let NFL stand for the ... and see who takes home the bigger pay check.

Those millionaire players and billionaire owners enjoying taxpayer funded stadiums protected by taxpayer security personnel should be a little more respectful.
[NYDAILYNEWS] The civil rights hustler Al Sharpton ...Tawana Brawley's spiritual advisor... said on Saturday that President Trump’s crude call for NFL owners to fire protesting players completely misses the point of why they’re taking a knee in the first place.
"Why don’t you, as President, address what the protest is about? Why?" Sharpton asked as he addressed a cheering crowd during his weekly rally at his National Action Network headquarters in Harlem.
"The reason you won’t is because they’re protesting the criminal justice inequities in this country," a fired up Sharpton said to roaring applause.

Criminal Justice Inequalities to Racist Al Sharpton means holding black criminals responsible for their crimes - just like everyone else. To him blacks should be immune from being held responsible for their actions.
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Extemporaneous comments about the political benefits of Sen. John Maverick McCain ... the Senator-for-Life from Arizona, former presidential candidate and even more former foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution. As an ordinary citizen he greased the infamous hookers peeing on the Obamabed in Moscow dossier in an attempt to smear President Trump... ’s brain cancer this week prompted the family to lash out at Democratic Rep. Matt Cartwright.
A town hall meeting in Pennsylvania on Tuesday delved into dark territory when Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare ... aka the Affordable Care Act, an ineptly designed and worse executed piece of legislation designed to bring 17 percent of the U.S. economy under the direct control of the government. The previous iteration, known as Hillarycare, was laughed out of Washington. This stinker was passed on a party-line vote without being read... became the topic of conversation. Mr. Cartwright told an audience at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Tamaqua that the Arizona Republican’s judgment on important matters will improve since "he’s staring death in the face right now."
Video of the incident first reported by The Washington Examiner shows the politician saying, "McCain I’m worried about. Also because the governor of Arizona came out in favor of the Lindsey Graham ... the endangered South Carolina RINO... -Bill Cassidy bill so that puts pressure on McCain. But, man, something tells me McCain, he’s staring death in the face right now, so he’s probably going to make good choices and he’s not going to bend to political pressure."
Meghan McCain, the senator’s daughter, blasted the Democrat late Thursday for his rhetoric.
"What a disgusting and macabre statement," Tweeted.
Mr. Cartwright responded within hours with an apology.

His brain tumor was supposed to be the size of a baseball.
Let's be honest. Nobody with a baseball sized brain tumor is going to be thinking coherently. I admit if I had a tumor on my brain that size I would need to consider anything I had to say to be possibly bat-shit crazy.

Once hospice care is deemed necessary, will there be some sort of Skyped 'up or down' McCain hand signal or Morse Code eyelid blink? These issues should be discussed and planned for in a timely manner.

Well, there is precedent. Back in the day, Bob Woodward claimed a bedside interview with William Casey at a time when Casey's family said the patient was permanently beyond coherence.

Both McCane and Clinton have already arrived at that stage.

Another health problem in that regards... I had some eye events, at one point, that were hinting at a retina problem but my eye doc didn't see anything so I went the whole 9 yards with the brain scan and everything. Turned out the eye doc's eyes were not good enough and I did have an eye problem.
But the point I am making is that you don't get a baseball sized brain tumor without some warning symptoms. Did this guy have any awareness of his own body's signals? Any self-awareness?

when you lead the effort to try to de-legitimize...the first African-American president in our history, I think that’s racist.
Point of information: Bill Clinton was our first black president. Barack Obama was our first female president. Therefore, dissing Obama is sexist, not racist.
