In an apparent case of red, white and blue revenge, a Pakistani protester died yesterday after inhaling smoke from a burning American flag during an anti-US rally.
Abdullah Ismail succumbed at Mayo Hospital in Lahore a day after attending the fierce protest at the city's Mall Road, where an estimated 10,000 people rallied.
Witnesses said Ismail had complained of feeling ill after breathing fumes from burning flags, Pakistan's Express Tribune reported. What more can I say?

Our flag does not like jihadists defiling it. It will happen again. Where do these guys get all these American flags for seething and rage demon_strations? Probably at the "Rent-A-Mob, Effigy, and Flag Store."

If we're not careful, they jihadis will catch on to the toxins embedded in all American flags. The Juice did it, of course!

What a positively brilliant idea. Embed some small ampules of dimethyl mercury, or similar, in loads of American flags, and distribute them in Islamist-infested communities throughout the world.
Then go buy some popcorn and beer, sit back , and enjoy the gurgling sounds as the Jihadis extinguish themselves.
[Dawn] Heavy rain on Sunday morning lashed thriving provincial capital and other parts of the province, turning the weather pleasant. Did that sentence just contradict itself in the space of a dozen words or so? Really, this has nothing to do with the anti-Islam film demonstrations. God's not punishing them for foolishness. It's just a little bit of rain. Or pleasantness, depending on which end of the sentence you paid attention to, if either...
Families rushed to parks and open places to enjoy pleasant change in the weather. They thronged Khalid Bin Waleed, Wazir Bagh, Qayyum stadium and Jinah parks to enjoy the pleasant weather.

[Al Ahram] A lawyer, Ghoneim Farouq, filed a complaint, Sunday, to Egypt's public prosecutor accusing controversial Salafist preacher Wagdi Ghoneim of offending President Mohamed Morsi. In a video circulating social networks, the Salafist scholar condemned the president's 6 September meeting with Egyptian artists, who he denounced as "promoters of immortality and prostitution."
"If he claims to have met them as the president of all [Egyptians] then why doesn't he also meet with stoned people and homosexuals, aren't they Egyptian as well?" Ghoneim said to the camera.
The notorious preacher, who is known for his controversial statements, further criticised Morsi for referring to Egypt as "a civil state", saying he did not vote for Morsi so that Egypt could become a civil state.
Farouq filed the complaint following what he called the "offensive" comments.
Ghoneim sparked controversy earlier this year during a visit to Tunisia where he promoted female genital mutilation and polygamy.

Top Chinese general in unusual move tells troops to ready for combat with Japan That sounds like an escalation to me...
China's most powerful military leader, in an unusual public statement, last week ordered military forces to prepare for combat, as Chinese warships deployed to waters near disputed islands and anti-Japan protests throughout the country turned violent.
Protests against the Japanese government's purchase of three privately held islands in the Senkakus chain led to mass street protests, the burning of Japanese flags, and attacks on Japanese businesses and cars in several cities. Some carried signs that read "Kill all Japanese," and "Fight to the Death" over disputed islands. One sign urged China to threaten a nuclear strike against Japan.
Gen. Xu Caihou, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, considered the most senior military political commissar, said Friday that military forces should be "prepared for any possible military combat," state run Xinhua news agency reported.

[Dawn] The court of the additional session's judge in Islamabad directed the police to submit a charge-sheet of the blasphemy case against Rimsha Masih by Sept 21, DawnNews reported.
The court said that the witnesses of the case should not be intimidated.
The investigation police officer of the case asked for some time to present the charge sheet in the case and told the court that the police' s inspector general (IG) had constituted an investigative team headed by a senior superintendent of police (SSP) and that the case's investigation had been completed.
Counsel of the petitioner pleaded that the bail of the girl should be annulled and requested the court not to allow more time to police to submit the challan.
Earlier today, the court of the additional sessions judge in Islamabad reserved its judgment over Monday's hearing in the blasphemy case against Rimsha Masih.
Senior civil judge Amir Aziz issued an order for the investigation to be conducted by an officer of the superintendent of police (SP) rank.
Rao Abdul Rahim, the counsel for the accuser, reminded the court that the police had already asked for more time to submit the challan ... list of charges ... and that the court had directed for an incomplete challan to be submitted during its previous hearing.
Another lawyer for petitioner told the court that his client, Hammad Malik, was being threatened by the IG and other officers at the cop shoppe.
The lawyer requested the court to restrain the police from harassing his client again and again and also requested for the bail of blasphemy-accused Christian girl to be cancelled.
The complainant's counsel alleged that the police had not constituted an investigating team yet and demand the names of the officers constituting the team to be disclosed.
The prosecutor presented the court with the names of the officers included in the investigating team upon request.

[Dawn] Coalition parties have decided to give their complete support to President Asif Ali Ten Percent Zardari ... husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, who has been singularly lacking in curiosity about who done her in ... in the Supreme Court.

Maybe a better title would be "Business as Usual in Pakistain". Yeah, the whole thing is a bit inside baseball, but Pakistain is such a fascinating place. It's not often you can watch a country devolve on a daily basis.
[Dawn] The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa ... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central... government has shown concern over detection of polio ...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set... among the vaccinated children in the areas where vaccination coverage was more than the national target of 95 per cent.
Officials said that government sought help of World Health Organisation (WHO) in strengthening post-campaign monitoring to ensure that all the children received oral polio vaccine.
The concerns were shown by Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir Akhtar during a meeting with a delegation, led by adviser to WHO director general Hussein A. Gezairy on Sunday.
The meeting decided to run 10 two-week campaigns in all districts for five consecutive months to stem the tide of virus circulation, officials said.
Dr Imtiaz Ali Shah, focal person (technical) for Chief Minister's Secretariat, told Dawn that government was extremely upset by the presence of polio virus among the children above five years.
"The WHO says that the virus emerges at the last stages of the polio eradication campaigns. For example, India had recorded polio virus in 90 per cent people above 60 months one year before it was declared polio-free," he said.

Unvaccinated kids can catch polio from vaccinated children. Also, no vaccine is perfect. Some kids will still catch the disease. Others will die from the vaccine itself.
Russia has agreed to forgive most of North Korea's debt, with the remaining amount likely to be reinvested into Russian business projects.
After debt-settlement talks earlier this year, Russia and North Korea signed a deal to forgive 90 percent of North Korea's $11 billion debt.
North Korean state news agency KCNA reported, "A contract was signed in Moscow on readjusting debt that the DPRK owed to the Russian Federation as a result of the loans that the former Soviet Union had offered to the DPRK."
Based on previous comments by Russian Vice Finance Minister Sergei Storchnak about the settlement talks, North Korea is likely to restructure its debt into projects that benefit Russian business interests.
According to Storchnak, Moscow is considering investing in the North Korean education, health care and energy sectors. Russia has also reportedly been eyeing a project to construct a gas pipeline to South Korea through North Korean terroritory.

Russia has us all massively by the throats, whilst they MASSIVELY re-arm on NUCLEAR subs, missiles, and mobile sites as well as army, air force, and navy they are also Europes line of Gas. They have been cranking the price up and are currently fairly unaffected by financial woes. To spring a pipeline up through North Korea would be another financial goldmine.
The U.S. House of Representatives Thursday overwhelmingly passed a new version of the Stolen Valor Act, a bill aimed at people who lie about receiving military medals and then attempt to profit from the deception.
The first version of the Stolen Valor Act was struck down by the Supreme Court as a violation of the First Amendment.
The bill focuses not on people who lie about having medals they didn't earn, but on any profits they make from lying about the medals, which is essentially criminal fraud.
Rep. Joe Heck (R-Nevada) sponsored the new bill. His office issued a release saying the bill passed by a vote of 410-3.
[Al Ahram] Protesters roamed around the lower Manhattan financial district all morning in groups of a few dozen each, from one intersection to another and back again, chanting loudly about the ills of Wall Street. In total, there were a few hundred protesters scattered throughout the city. More than 100 of them were cooled for a few years Book 'im, Mahmoud! by midafternoon, mostly on disorderly conduct charges.
The day's events lacked the heft of Occupy protests last year, when protesters gathered by the thousands. But Occupiers were upbeat as they spread out in their old stomping grounds, giddy at the prospect of being together again. They brushed off any suggestions that the movement had petered out.
"This is a movement. It's only been a year," said protester Justin Stone Diaz. "It's going to take many years for it to develop and figure out exactly who we are."
But the movement is now a shadow of its mighty infancy, when a group of young people harnessed the power of a disillusioned nation and erupted into the streets chanting about corporate greed and inequality.
A familiar Statue of Liberty puppet was back, bobbing in the crowd above protesters' heads. Protesters in wheelchairs blocked a road and chanted "All day, all week, occupy Wall Street!" before they were steered off the road by police.
Zuccotti Park, the former home of the encampment, was encircled by metal police barricades lined with coppers standing watch.
Events were planned in more than 30 cities worldwide.
In San Francisco, local Occupy groups planned to occupy 10 banks across the city and then hold an evening rally honoring foreclosure fighters, people who've been helping residents stave off foreclosures by squatting or holding sit-ins, outside the Bank of America building in the Financial District, the site of previous protests. They then planned to march.
Last year, hundreds of protesters camped out for weeks at Justin Herman Plaza across from the city's Ferry Building, a magnet for tourists and in the heart of the Financial District, where nearby businesses were affected.
In Oakland, Caliphornia, a metal fence surrounds the City Hall lawn that was the hub of several violent festivities between demonstrators and police during fall Occupy-inspired protests that attracted international attention.
Banks including Citigroup ...contributed $736,771 to the 2008 Obama campaign... and Wells Fargo have said they're committed to having open dialogue and working with their customers during difficult economic times.
