[NYP] At least four people were killed and a child is fighting for their life after a stabbing spree in Louisiana Saturday night as police launched a manhunt for a person of interest with a violent history.
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office officials discovered “multiple deceased victims” in homes near the 200 block of Ashland Drive in Houma, La., when they located a juvenile suffering from stab wounds.
The unidentified juvenile was rushed to a hospital and is listed in critical condition, officials said.

was identified as a person of interest in the deadly series of stabbings in the southwest Louisiana town, 63 miles outside of New Orleans.
Solet has been arrested several times in the past decade for a slew of stabbings, including one fatal, but has not been convicted in any of those cases.
In January 2019, Solet was charged with the murder of Kemple Paul Scott Lovell, a homeless man found dead with several stab wounds in Houma, according to police.
An anonymous tip led police to arrest Solet, who was found hiding inside a shed behind a mobile home, a block west of Saturday’s deadly crime scene.

[NYP] Democratic New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s is getting blasted for her state’s “sanctuary” policies after an illegal immigrant driver fleeing a stop by Immigration and Customs Enforcement crashed into and injured a local mayor’s wife.
“This is just the latest in a long line of traffic incidents and vehicular incidents that wouldn’t occur if New Jersey didn’t have our sanctuary status that got codified as soon as Gov. Sherrill came into office,” Republican Assemblyman Paul Kanitra told Fox News Digital.
“We all fought against it. We told them that this would create chaos, and it seems like Democrats are unable to take accountability for their own actions,” the Point Pleasant Beach lawmaker added.
The broadside came after ICE officers conducted a targeted operation involving the driver of an Acura on Route 130 in North Brunswick on Sept. 2.
ICE said they believed the driver to be an illegal immigrant, and he refused orders to get out of the vehicle before officers attempted to remove him.
He then sped away and ran a red light before colliding with a Tesla driven by Dr. Penelope Cohen, wife of East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen, according to local accounts.
Penelope Cohen suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital, News 12 New Jersey reported. The Acura driver fled on foot before ICE officers apprehended him shortly afterward.
The driver has not been publicly identified. ICE said he was arrested for violating US immigration law and would remain in custody pending removal proceedings.

The tense encounter unfolded Aug. 22 as Santa Monica Police Department officers investigated a report of a man chasing a woman near the Broadway stairs, according to a newly released critical incident briefing.
The man killed in the confrontation was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as 44-year-old Michael Rodriguez.
Two uniformed officers responded to Broadway and Ocean Avenue at approximately 12:30 p.m. before speaking with witnesses in the 1400 block of Palisades Park.
The popular oceanfront park was crowded with pedestrians, visitors and vendors that Saturday afternoon when officers spotted Rodriguez, who was unrelated to the original call, holding a large knife above his head and moving toward an officer and several bystanders, police said.

As police approached Rodriguez and checked him for additional weapons, an officer discovered a second knife in his right pants pocket. Officers also spotted the handle of a third knife sticking out of his backpack, police said.
Investigators described the knife carried during the confrontation as a large, fixed-blade "fighting and utility style" weapon with a clip-point blade, protective hand guard, metal grip and serrations along part of its spine.
