Troops foil armed herders’ invasion of farmlands in Plateau

Troops of Sector 8, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have foiled an attempt by suspected armed herders and their cattle to invade farmlands around Manja community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 5:25 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, when troops deployed at Manja Forest responded to reports of the movement of the armed herders through a forested area in the community.
The troops’ swift intervention forced the suspected criminals to withdraw further into the forest.
Troops of 4 Brigade, conducting operations under Operation Whirl Punch and Operation Rescue, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested at about 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Obaretin community along the Benin–Sapele Road.
Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle with registration number 6624011, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition from the suspect.
Other items recovered include a Tecno mobile phone, two bags, a torchlight, a music box and assorted charms.
The suspect and the recovered items are currently in military custody as further investigation continues to establish his possible links to kidnapping activities and other criminal operations in the area.
The arrest forms part of ongoing security operations within the 2 Division area of responsibility aimed at disrupting criminal networks and denying kidnappers freedom of movement.
Security forces are expected to conduct further interrogation and investigation to determine the suspect’s associates and possible operational links.

1. The entire western coast of the country has been completely cleared.
2. All islands in the Red Sea, including Perim Island in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, have been completely taken under control.
3. In total, more than 5,400 square kilometers of Yemeni territory have been liberated as of the evening of September 11.
4. Several cities have been liberated, including Mokha and Hays, as well as several dozen villages and towns, and a number of key heights in the region.
5. Five enemy brigades have been defeated. Three on the west coast and two more surrendered on the islands without serious resistance.
6. Several thousand people have surrendered, most of whom will be released under amnesty.
7. The commander of the interventionist direction, a major general, was killed while fleeing to Aden.
8. The commander of the interventionist forces resigned following the disaster.
9. The Houthis captured hundreds of armored vehicles, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, MRAPs, and other armored personnel carriers. They also seized dozens of guns and mortars, hundreds of vehicles, a huge amount of ammunition (shells, mines, cartridges), and various military equipment.
10. Currently, the Houthis are trying to cut off Taiz, advance toward Aden, and are preparing to storm Marib, from where they have already begun fleeing. It is still unclear where the Saudis will be able to stabilize the front.
The US has so far refused to directly intervene in the Yemen war at this stage. Ah, but there was a time when the comments on this blog were saying that Hodeida was doomed and the Houthis would soon be finished.

The Houthi spokesperson just stated that the warplanes launched 129 airstrikes over the past 48 hours on sites in the provinces of Taiz, Marib, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf, Saada, Amran, and Hajjah.

There have been several reports that several of the Saudi units there were 'ghosts' - seriously and possibly fatally undermanned, because the commanders had filled the rosters with nonexistent soldiers and then collected their pay.
This happened to the terminal Army of the Republic of Vietnam, and again in Afghanistan. The one thing that may be different this time is that the KSA won't collapse, and the al-Sauds aren't likely to let this go without making a few examples.
Problem is...seventy years downrange from the beginnings in Vietnam, and - honestly - closing in on fifty now since the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, we can't get it through our heads: most of Asia doesn't want to be saved, and none of Islam wants to even co-exist, much less be like us. The Houthis are firmly grounded in the twelfth century and, bluntly, they are mentally unstoppable: they conquer and win; or we wipe them out and they go to Paradise. For them, there's no downside.

Speculation on my part. With both primary routes of exporting oil at least temporarily offline, Saudi is going to hit some significant short term cash flow issues. If their 8 billion dollar bond float isn't successful, they may need to start selling US Treasuries to keep the ball rolling (like the Japanese government was recently compelled to do).

[NYP] An American correctional officer moonlighting as a member of a powerful faction of the Sinaloa Cartel was busted in Mexico with more than 5,400 rounds of ammunition, Mexican authorities said.
The suspect, who was identified as Yanet ‘N’, was stopped by security forces who were conducting surveillance in the municipality of San Luis Rio Colorado near a bridge that connects the state of Sonora with Arizona.
The Mexican government said that Yanet ‘N’ served as the logistics operator for the cartel faction and the ammunition cartridges were found under the seat of her Jeep Wrangler.
Mexican newspaper Excelsior reported that the woman was carrying an identification card from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry identifying her as Yanet Dowden and as a “Level II correctional officer.” Several firearms, including an AK-47, were recovered during the search, the outlet reported.
Excelsior learned that she is linked to “Los Mayos,” one of the two cartel factions that is under the command of Ismael “Mayito Flaco” Zambada Zicairos, the son of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, who co-founded the transnational drug trafficking organization with Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
The other half of the drug cartel, known as “Los Chapitos,” is operated by El Chapo’s two sons, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar and Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar.

He said the officers did not show him a warrant or explain why he was being detained.
Abdullah arrived in the United States in 2023 as an asylum seeker and later obtained work authorization and a Social Security number. He worked as an auto mechanic, while a search of Minnesota court records reportedly found no criminal convictions, apart from two parking tickets issued in early 2025.
He said authorities transferred him between detention facilities in Minnesota, Kentucky and Louisiana before telling him he would be deported to Somalia via Miami. Instead, he was taken to Guantanamo Bay, where he says he has been held for nearly two weeks.
Abdullah said he is among eight Somali detainees being held at the facility, several of whom were arrested in the Twin Cities area. The US government has not publicly explained why Abdullah or the other Somali detainees were transferred to Guantanamo Bay.
The case has raised questions over the use of the US military facility for immigration detainees and the legal basis for transferring migrants colonists there. Abdullah’s account could not be independently verified, and further details about his legal status and the circumstances of his transfer were not immediately available.

[Rudaw] At least nine people were killed and more than a dozen injured in an overnight fire at a prison in the Kurdish city of Kobane in northern Syria, Rudaw has learned, as Kurdish and Syrian officials sought to defuse tensions following days of protests over the killing of a Kurdish soldier.
The fire, believed to have been started by protesting prisoners, came after demonstrations across Kurdish areas of northeast and northern Syria over the killing of Sipan Hizni, a Kurdish member of the Syrian army.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Hizni, a member of a Syrian army brigade comprising fighters from the now-dissolved Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), was killed near Hasaka city earlier this week after being kidnapped by armed men believed to be members of a prominent Arab clan.
State-affiliated security forces said they had identified the main suspect but had yet to arrest him.
The killing and the failure to arrest those responsible sparked anger among Kurds and triggered protests across Kurdish areas of northeast Syria (Rojava).
Despite calls for restraint by Kurdish authorities, peaceful demonstrations turned violent in Kobane on Friday, with some protesters attacking security forces.
The government deployed additional security forces to Kobane, in Aleppo province, and detained a number of protesters.
An eyewitness said tensions inside the prison escalated after detainees, including people arrested earlier in the day, learned that they would be transferred to facilities in areas of Aleppo city under full government control. Some prisoners then set their cell on fire in protest, the witness said.

Perhaps this is an indication that the Iranian people will eventually solve their own problem. Hopefully their are clandestine efforts in play to assist them. The French resistance in WWII played an important role in defeating the nazi occupation.
