[NBCRIGHTNOW] Jihadists killed at least 63 people in northeastern Nigeria while storming a town whose residents had been returned from a displacement camp, the state governor said.
The Friday night assault struck the town of Darul Jamal, which hosts a military base on the Nigeria-Cameroon ...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there... border in a zone ravaged by jihadist attacks.
Babagana Zulum, governor of the embattled Borno state, said that five soldiers were among the dead, a figure confirmed to AFP by a security source.
The latest attack raises questions about Nigeria's push in recent years to close down camps for internally displaced persons and return their inhabitants to the countryside.
"It's very sad, this community was resettled some months ago and they went about their normal business," Zulum told journalists at the scene of the attack.
"As of now, we confirm that 63 have bit the dust, both the civilians and the army."

"The numerical strength of the Nigerian army is not enough to contain the situation," Zulum said, adding that a newly established force called the Forest Guards was set to augment security personnel in the region.
Residents said the attack began around 8:30 pm (1930 GMT), when dozens of fighters arrived on cycle of violences, firing assault rifles and torching homes.
"They came shouting, shooting everyone in sight," Malam Bukar, who fled into the countryside with his wife and three children, told AFP. "When we returned at dawn, bodies were everywhere."

Earlier, civilian militia commander Babagana Ibrahim said at least 55 people were killed, while an NGO worker, who asked not to be named, gave AFP a toll of 64.
Neither the army nor the air force responded to an AFP request for comment.
However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... in a statement picked up by local media, the air force said it killed 30 "terrorists" who had engaged in a gun fight with ground troops in the town, also known as Dar-El-Jamal.
Many of the victims were families recently relocated from the Government Secondary School displacement camp in Bama, which authorities shut down earlier this year.
"The government told us we would be safe here," said Hajja Fati, a mother of five who lost her brother in the attack. "Now we are burying our people again."
The area is known to be under the control of a Boko Haram commander, Ali Ngulde. A security source told AFP he led the attack.
[IsraelTimes] London police say they arrested 890 people at a demonstration yesterday in support of Palestine Action, a pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel group banned by the British government as a terrorist organization.
The Metropolitan Police say 857 people were arrested for showing support for Palestine Action, while 33 people were arrested for other offenses, including 17 for assaulting police officers.
Police had warned ahead of the demonstration that anyone showing support for the group would be arrested.
Britain banned Palestine Action under anti-terrorism legislation in July after some of its members broke into a Royal Air Force base and damaged military planes. The group accuses Britain’s government of complicity in what it says are Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

Protester waving Palestinian flag causes crash during major Vuelta cycling race
[IsraelTimes] A man carrying a Paleostinian flag caused a crash on the 15th stage of the Vuelta a España on Sunday when he ran toward the road as riders approached in the latest disruption to the major cycling race by anti-Israel protesters.
The protester tripped and did not quite make it to the road. He was apparently hiding from security as the riders approached with about 55 kilometers left in the 168-kilometer (104-mile) stage. A police officer also crossed the road in front of the riders after he saw the protester making his run on the other side.

There have been a series of disruptions by pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protesters during the three-week Grand Tour race in Spain, prompting calls for the Israeli team, Israel — Premier Tech, to withdraw. Stage 11 of the race ended without a winner after a previous disruption from pro-Paleostinian protesters.
The Israel — Premier Tech team started Saturday’s stage wearing new kits without the team name, apparently to reduce the visibility of their riders.

Tens of thousands march in anti-Israel protest in central Brussels

On Friday, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot told AFP that the EU’s credibility on foreign policy was “collapsing” because of the bloc’s failure to act over Israel’s war in Gaza.
Belgium has said it will recognize the State of Palestine at this month’s UN General Assembly, and has imposed new sanctions against Israel. However Brussels also said that its recognition of Palestine will only be declared by royal decree “when the last hostage has been released and Hamas no longer exercises any form of governance over Palestine.” A Belgian official told The Times of Israel last week that Belgium will not take formal measures, like opening an embassy, until Hamas is disarmed and excluded from any governing role.
The EU has so far failed to take action against Israel because of deep divisions among its 27 members.

[Breitbart] At least five people have been murdered and 15 others wounded Monday in a terror shooting attack targeting bus commuters in Jerusalem.
The terrorist attackers opened fire with automatic weapons in a bus at a busy intersection in the north of the city during the morning commute.
AP reports police said two attackers were “neutralized” soon after the shooting began.
The shooting took place at a major intersection at the northern entrance to Jerusalem, on a road that leads to Jewish settlements located in east Jerusalem.
Israel’s Channel 12 TV reported the gunmen boarded a bus and opened fire before a soldier shot them. There was no immediate claim from any armed groups.
Israeli police are describing it as a suspected terrorist attack, and that the gunmen were killed at the scene, ABC News reports.
Footage of the attack showed dozens of people fleeing from a bus stop at the busy intersection during the morning rush hour.
Paramedics who responded to the scene said the area was chaotic and covered in broken glass, with people wounded and lying unconscious on the road and a sidewalk near the bus stop.
Six people were murdered Monday and 12 were maimed, six of them seriously, when a pair of Paleostinian bully boyz opened fire on vehicles and pedestrians in Jerusalem’s Ramot Junction.
The two button men, residents of the West Bank, arrived at the junction shortly after 10 a.m. — according to some reports, by car — and shot up people waiting at a bus stop as well at a bus that had just stopped there.
Police said that a soldier and a number of civilians who were present at the scene fired at the bully boyz and killed them. The military said the soldier was an off-duty squad commander in the military’s new Hasmonean Brigade, a unit for ultra-Orthodox troops.
Magen David Adom said four of the victims were declared dead at the scene, while two others were rushed to hospital and later shuffled off the mortal coil.
At least six others were listed at death's door, as well as two whose status was moderate and three who were lightly hurt, according to MDA.
Four of the dead were named as Levi Yitzhak Pash, Yaakov Pinto, 25, Yisrael Matzner, 28, and Rabbi Yosef David, 43.
The two bully boyz were believed to have set out from the villages of al-Qubeiba and Qatanna, just west of the junction and over the Green Line. The Israel Defense Forces said troops were encircling the villages, both located on the outskirts of Ramallah in the West Bank.
The military said troops were also dispatched to carry out scans for potential accomplices in the area alongside police.
The attackers used makeshift "Carlo" submachine guns, according to images from the scene. The improvised gun, also known as a Carl Gustav, is commonly manufactured at illegal workshops in the West Bank and has been used in numerous Paleostinian attacks in the past.
Police said they had recovered the weapons, as well as a knife and ammunition.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later arrived at the scene, which he surveyed alongside National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and MK Zvi Sukkot. The prime minister also entered the number 62 bus that had come under fire.
The premier offered his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
"A mighty war against terror is taking place on all fronts," he told news hounds at the scene. "We are now pursuing and encircling the villages where the bully boyz came from."
Security forces have thwarted hundreds of attacks this year, "But unfortunately, not this morning," he said.

Ben Gvir talked up his controversial policy of putting as many licensed guns as possible in the hands of civilians in recent years to boost security on the streets. "Weapons save lives," he argued.
Both men also praised the ultra-Orthodox soldier who returned fire at the terrorists.
Dashcam footage showed the moments of the deadly shooting attack.
As shots rang out and amid sounds of screams, people could be seen scrambling to safety between vehicles.
A taxi driver was also seen exiting his vehicle and then calmly helping his passenger, an elderly woman, get out of the back seat, even as a bullet appeared to fly over his head and shatter the windshield of a bus just behind him. The two then moved out of view unharmed.
Hamas praised the deadly attack, calling it a “heroic operation.”
“We affirm that this operation is a natural response to the occupation’s crimes and war of extermination it is waging against our people,” the terror group said in a statement.
Hamas did not take responsibility for the attack, but called on West Bank Palestinians to “escalate the confrontation with the occupation and its settlers.”
The last major terror attack in Jerusalem was in November 2023, when two Palestinian gunmen killed four people and injured five near the Givat Shaul neighborhood at the main entrance to the city.

According to the military, Naeem had held Israeli hostages Emily Damari, Romi Gonen, and Naama Levy in captivity prior to their release as part of a ceasefire deal.
The IDF says Naeem also served in multiple roles within Hamas’s Gaza City brigade, most recently as a senior figure in the brigade’s military intelligence, being described as a close associate of its commander, Izz al-Din Haddad.

The strike on the al-Ru’ya tower came as medical sources in the Hamas-run Strip reported 50 people, including 46 from northern Gaza, killed by Israeli fire across Gaza since dawn on Sunday, as well as five malnutrition-related deaths, including three children, over the past 24 hours.
One person was killed in the IDF strike on al-Ru’ya tower, the al-Quds hospital said in a statement. Witness Mohammed al-Nazli told AFP that the bombing of the al-Ru’ya tower "felt like an earthquake" and that the building was "completely destroyed and turned to rubble."
According to the IDF, Hamas had "installed intelligence gathering means" at the building and "positioned observation posts to monitor the location of IDF troops in the area." The IDF also said Hamas operatives had planted many bombs near the building as part of preparations for the military’s operation to take over Gaza City.
The IDF on Saturday called on Gaza residents to flee south to a new "humanitarian zone." Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that over 100,000 people have fled Gaza City. It is estimated that there were some 1 million people in the city.
The IDF’s warning Saturday was followed by two urgent evacuation notices for people in and near al-Ru’ya tower and another Gaza City high-rise that was struck roughly an hour later. On Sunday, the IDF again called on people in the area of al-Ru’ya to flee immediately before it struck the building.
The military on Friday also blew up Gaza City’s Mushtaha tower after issuing an evacuation warning, with Defense Minister Israel Katz saying the earth-shattering kaboom signified the opening of the "gates of Hell in Gaza."
Israel did not provide evidence to show Hamas was using the buildings, an accusation the terror group has denied.
Elsewhere in Gaza City on Sunday, the IDF in the morning bombed the al-Tawheed Wal Sunna mosque in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood, according to Paleostinian media. No casualties were reported, and footage from the scene was captured on a hand-held camera pointed at the building ahead of the earth-shattering kaboom, indicating that the IDF gave prior warning of the attack. The military did not immediately comment on the strike.
While mosques and other religious buildings are protected under international law, they can be targeted if they are used for military purposes. The IDF has accused Hamas of embedding itself in civilian infrastructure, including mosques.
Also Sunday morning, two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israel, setting off sirens in Gaza border communities and the nearby town of Netivot in the first rocket launch from Gaza in three weeks, the IDF said. One of the rockets was intercepted while the second landed in an unpopulated area, the military said. There were no reports of injuries or damage. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... later grabbed credit for the rocket launch, saying on Telegram that it had aimed at Netivot.

The IDF published a video of the demolition and said the tunnel was located during operations of the Nahal Brigade in the area. The tunnel featured a room that was used by Hamas’s forces in Zeitoun to coordinate attacks, according to the military.
PM: OVER 100,000 PALESTINIANS HAVE LEFT GAZA CITY
Netanyahu said at the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday that Israel killed a terrorist who took part in the Hamas onslaught of October 7, 2023, and bragged to his parents that he had personally slaughtered 10 Jews. According to Netanyahu, Israel killed the man, then called his parents to inform them.
In a phone call from the October 7 onslaught, released by Israel days after the massacre that sparked the Gaza war, the man could be heard excitedly telling his parents that he was in a kibbutz near the Gaza border. "Look how many I killed with my own hands! Your son killed Jews!" he said, according to an English translation. Paleostinian media in Gaza identified the man on Saturday as Mahmoud Afana, and said he was killed in Deir al-Balah.
Netanyahu also indicated at the cabinet meeting that around 100,00 civilians have left Gaza City amid the widening military operation there.
"About 100,000 people have left Gaza. Hamas is trying to do everything to prevent them from leaving and to keep them there to serve as human shields," said the premier. His office later clarified to The Times of Israel that he was referring to Gaza City, not the entire Strip. Netanyahu also accused Hamas of shooting women and kiddies in the legs in an effort to prevent them from fleeing.
"We want to focus on the holy warriors themselves, and allow the civilian population to get out," said Netanyahu, accusing Hamas of shooting women and kiddies in the legs in an effort to prevent them from fleeing.
"Our effort in Gaza against the last [Hamas] strongholds — essentially the last important stronghold, Gaza City — is part of our effort to complete the dismantling of the Iranian axis stranglehold," he said.
The UN estimates that around 1 million Paleostinians remain in Gaza City. The vast majority of Gaza’s 2 million population has been displaced.
Israel has accused Hamas of hijacking aid shipments, and the UN of failing to deliver them.
COGAT, the Defense Ministry agency that deals with humanitarian issues, said on Sunday that over the past week aid from more than 1,900 trucks, most supplying food, was distributed in Gaza.
"We will continue facilitating humanitarian aid into Gaza for the civilian population — not Hamas," COGAT said in a statement.
Meanwhile, in the southern Strip — where residents of Gaza City have been told to evacuate to — a new humanitarian area providing food and medical services was opened in the Khan Younis area.
Although the military has demanded the mass evacuation of civilians in order to proceed with the fighting, the IDF is also expecting, according to the Ynet news site, some 10,000 Hamas fighters to escape the combat zone amid the masses of civilians moving south, as has occurred during previous evacuations.
According to the report, the security establishment has considered trying to screen all of those leaving in order to detain as many combatants as possible — but in addition to the basic difficulty of identifying them among the masses, the military is also wary of exposing soldiers, as well as Gazan civilians, to potential attacks by operatives during the process.
HOSTAGE FAMILIES SAY CAPTIVES RECENTLY MOVED TO GAZA CITY
Though Hamas fighters are expected to escape south, Ynet reported IDF concerns that the terror group will smuggle living hostages into the combat zone, to put them in harm’s way or dissuade Israel from going ahead with its plan to conquer Gaza City.
The families of hostages Alon Ohel and Guy Gilboa-Dalal — who appeared in a propaganda video released by the terror group on Friday — believe the two were recently moved to Gaza City, based on information gleaned from former hostages held alongside them, Channel 12 reported.
Security officials have warned in private forums, and anonymously to the press, that the Gaza City operation will endanger the remaining hostages, of whom only around 20 are believed to be alive, out of the 48 still held by terror groups in the Strip.
The proposal agreed to by the terror group would see 10 living captives freed and the bodies of 18 dead captives returned, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian security prisoners and some 1,000 Gazan detainees, amid a 60-day ceasefire during which talks would be held for the release of the remaining hostages and a permanent end to the war.

A 63-year-old man was lightly injured by shrapnel from the blast, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service. The man, along with a woman who fell over while running from the scene, was taken to Yoseftal Medical Center in Eilat for treatment. Several other people required treatment for acute anxiety, MDA added.
The unmanned aerial vehicle struck the passenger terminal at the airport north of Eilat, causing damage, according to airport authorities.
Images from the scene showed shattered glass and debris at an area where baggage is screened. A thick pall of black smoke rose over the terminal and people could be seen running for cover.
No sirens were activated. According to a preliminary probe in the Israeli Air Force, the UAV was not detected before it hit the airport, and therefore no sirens sounded.
The IDF said the incident was under further investigation and "the details are being looked into."
Israel briefly closed the airspace over the airport following the attack. Several hours later, the IAA said Ramon Airport resumed full operations for both takeoffs and landings.

The attack on Ramon Airport came shortly after the military said the Israeli Air Force shot down three other Houthi drones that had set off warning sirens in several communities on the Egyptian border.
Two of the drones were intercepted before crossing Israel’s borders, and the third was shot down after entering Israeli airspace via Egypt, according to the IDF.

The Houthi terrorist rebels launched four UAVs on Sunday from Yemen at Israel on Sunday, one of which struck Ramon International Airport north of Eilat.
According to the IDF, three of the drones were intercepted, two of which were outside prior to crossing into Israeli territory. Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.
Interception debris fell outside a community on the Egypt border, within the Ramat Negev Regional Council. No injuries or damage were reported.

"The campaign has achieved notable results, the most important of which are dismantling active terrorist networks operating within the camp, the arrest of 11 ISIS-linked members, foiling several attempts to target service and humanitarian facilities," the Asayish (internal security forces) said in a statement.
The campaign, launched on Friday, was in response to a rise in ISIS activities, including attacks on humanitarian aid organizations and exploitation of youth in the camp.
The Asayish said they succeeded in "limiting the movements of terrorist cells inside and around the camp."
"The operation also contributed to strengthening coordination with humanitarian organizations, ensuring the safe continuation of their missions, and providing a more stable environment for camp residents," it added.
Al-Hol camp, located in Hasaka province, houses 27,488 people with suspected links to ISIS, most of them women and kiddies, according to the most recent data from Rojava authorities. The camp’s residents come from around the world, though the majority are Iraqis and Syrians. It has been called a breeding ground for terrorism.
When launching the operation on Friday, the Kurdish force said that in recent months, "the camp has witnessed an increase in ISIS sleeper cell activities, with more than thirty attacks carried out against humanitarian workers. These attacks have led to the destruction of facilities and service infrastructures, placing the lives of thousands of civilians at risk and obstructing humanitarian and stabilization efforts."
