[NYPOST] A woman who tried to run over US Border Patrol agents assisting in the arrest of two illegal immigrants in Maine was arrested this week, authorities said.
Olivia Wilkins, 24, was charged with aggravated reckless conduct, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, driving to endanger, hindering apprehension, obstructing government administration and failure to stop for an officer, the Department of Homeland Security said.
The Border Patrol agents were assisting the Maine State Police (MSP) and the Knox County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) with a commercial vehicle rollover accident Monday involving Jhoan Andres Ortiz-Calderon and Victor Hugo Cardona-Calderon.
Ortiz-Calderon had a final order of removal from an immigration judge, and Cardona-Calderon overstayed his visa and had not obtained a work permit, authorities said.
While walking the two men to a USBP vehicle, Wilkins, a bystander, began verbally abusing authorities, DHS said.
''She then used her vehicle to drive at the group of law enforcement, squealing the tires and swerving, nearly hitting them,'' a news release states.
Sheriff's deputies chased Wilkins, who crashed her vehicle along the side of a road, where she was arrested.
''This incident comes just two weeks after a threatening letter with a white powdery substance was sent to an ICE office in New York City. Less than a week ago, a violent rioter was charged with assault in San Francisco after he threatened to stab an ICE officer and harm his family. Earlier in the week, there was a bomb threat at a Dallas ICE facility,'' a DHS spokesperson said.

A Thomaston man was arrested on Monday after he allegedly tried to run over border patrol agents while they were taking suspected illegal immigrants into custody in Washington, Maine, following a truck crash.
Deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department arrested Olivia G. Wilkins, 24, of Thomaston, also known as Stevie Wilkins, on Tuesday after he allegedly tried to run over a Border Patrol agent and a Maine State Police officer.
A LinkedIn page appearing to belong to Wilkins shows that he also went by the name “Stevie” and used they/he pronouns. The banner on the account is a Black Lives Matter fist superimposed onto a pride flag.

Aside from being the most inbred society on earth, in the last centrury Yemen had the reputation of being a nation rushing pell mell from the thirteenth to the fifteenth century. The Israeli military said its fighter jets had struck a compound in the Sanaa area where senior Houthi figures had gathered, describing the attack as a "complex operation" made possible by intelligence-gathering and air superiority.
On Thursday, Israeli security sources said the targets had been various locations where a large number of senior Houthi officials had gathered to watch a televised speech recorded by leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi.
Israeli intelligence provided real-time details of the gathering, enabling the strike, which was carried out despite heavy air defenses in the area, the IDF said.
The defense minister, Muhammad Nasser al-Attafi, has been in his role since 2016 and is considered the senior-most official in the organization’s military establishment, according to Channel 12.

[Breitbart] A failed asylum seeker from Iraq has been accused of killing a 16-year-old girl in Germany by pushing her in front of an oncoming train.
Göttingen public prosecutor’s office said on Friday that it has detained a 31-year-old man from Iraq on suspicion of pushing a 16-year-old girl onto the train tracks and fatally injuring her at the Friedland station on August 11th.
While police had initially suspected the incident to have been an accident, the Iraqi national’s DNA was later found on the deceased girl’s shoulder, German daily Die Welt reports.
Police had interviewed the man shortly after the girl’s tragic death, after which he denied involvement and tested positive for alcohol consumption.
According to prosecutors, the suspect had initially come into contact with police in 2022 when he applied for asylum in Germany.
However, the request was denied in December of that year and a deportation order to Lithuania was issued in March of this year under the Dublin Regulations, which allows for EU nations to send alleged asylum seekers back to the member state where they first entered the bloc.
Yet, in July, the Hanover District Court refused to issue a deportation detention order, allowing him to remain free on the streets of Germany while the removal process continued.
After his arrest, the Iraqi migrant reportedly invoked his right to silence and has since been placed in psychiatric hospital after having allegedly displayed signs of mental illness at the scene of the crime and previously being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

Marking the one-year anniversary of the murder of six hostages by their Hamas captors as Israeli troops neared, hostages’ families urged the government to abort its plans to conquer Gaza City, arguing that military pressure only endangers the captives.
Before the main rallies in Tel Aviv, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum stated: “As plans move forward to conquer Gaza City, a hostage deal remains stalled at the negotiating table – serving as a painful reminder of last year’s lesson: military pressure kills hostages.”
The statement referenced the killing of Alexander Lobanov, Carmel Gat, Ori Danino, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi and Almog Sarusi by their Hamas captors last year.

Heavy Israeli bombardment has been rocking Gaza City, as the UN warns that Israel’s planned occupation of the area could forcibly displace more than one million Palestinians.
The notorious spokesperson for Hamas’s military wing in the Gaza Strip was said to have been the target of an Israeli airstrike on Saturday, the results of which were not immediately clear but which left Israeli officials feeling cautiously optimistic.
The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet said in a statement on Saturday evening that they had carried out an airstrike on a senior Hamas operative in the Gaza City area, in the northern Gaza Strip.
While the statement did not provide the identity of the targeted terror operative, multiple Hebrew media outlets reported that it was the longtime Hamas spokesman, Hudayfa Samir Abdallah al-Kahlout, who is more widely known by his nom de guerre Abu Obeida.
Abu Obeida is always masked in his statements to the media, and he is viewed as something of a symbol in the Gaza Strip and elsewhere in the Arab world. During the current war, the IDF published an estimation of what his face looks like.
While his fate after the strike was not immediately known, unnamed Israeli security sources cited by Hebrew media expressed cautious optimism about the outcome of the strike.
“There is optimism, we have cautiously assessed that the direction is positive,” one security source told Channel 12, while another told the Kan public broadaster that the outcome was “looking good.”
Reports in Gaza indicated that some 11 people, including children, were killed in the strike on the apartment building that the senior Hamas operative was believed to have been sheltering in.
The IDF insisted that precautions were taken to minimize civilian harm, including precision munitions and aerial surveillance, along with additional intelligence.
Hamas swiftly shot down reports of Abu Obeida’s death and published a statement warning that the rumors were nothing more than an attempt at “psychological warfare,” Jordanian news outlet Roya News reported.
According to the news outlet, Hamas warned Palestinians against spreading rumors of his death, as it would assist Israel in its ‘deliberate’ psychological campaign and serve to undermine public trust and unity.
Abu Obeida has been the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades since 2004. He rose to prominence in 2006 as he announced the kidnapping of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
He has since been the face of the more high-profile statements and psychological warfare by the terror group.
Abu Obeida’s last statement was issued on Friday evening, warning Israel that its planned offensive to conquer Gaza City would subject hostages in the area to the “same risks” as the terror group’s fighters.
“We will take care of the prisoners the best we can, and they will be with our fighters in the combat and confrontation zones, subjected to the same risks and the same living conditions,” he said.
His last video statement was aired some two weeks ago, in which he attempted to pressure Israel to agree to a hostage-ceasefire deal accepted by the terror group.

Gaza’s Hamas-run Health Ministry says 15 people were killed and at least 206 others wounded seeking aid over the past 24 hours.
The Health Ministry also says 10 people died as a result of starvation and malnutrition over the last 24 hours, including three children. It said at least 332 Palestinians have now died from malnutrition-related causes during the war, including 124 children.
The numbers cannot be immediately confirmed, and Israel denies that a famine situation exists in the Strip, pointing to hundreds of tons of aid that have gone in in recent weeks.
The official says that Israel estimates that only some 10,000 people have evacuated to the south in the three weeks since Israel announced it would empty the city of its civilian population ahead of a planned move by the IDF to capture Gaza City.
The official says that there are some 1 million people still in the area.

[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Saturday they arrested 51 Islamic State (ISIS) suspects in an extensive operation amid fears of a resurgence of the jihadist group.
“After approximately 14 hours of continuous effort involving more than 3,000 fighters, our forces achieved all their objectives. A total of 51 terrorists were captured, including individuals directly involved in attacks on civilians, as well as on security and service institutions,” the SDF said in a statement.
“Dangerous terrorist networks were dismantled, including cells that had been plotting attacks on Al-Sina’a Prison and Al-Hol Camp. The campaign has neutralized the immediate threat to civilians and regional stability,” it added, referring to facilities in Hasaka holding ISIS-affiliated people.
A significant number of weapons were also confiscated.
Al-Sina’a prison, known locally as Ghweran, is a large complex that houses ISIS militants. An attempted prison break at the facility in January 2022 left at least 322 people dead after the SDF laid a week-long siege to thwart the escape.
Al-Hol camp is infamous for its squalid conditions and has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism. Iraqis and Syrians make up the majority of the nearly 28,000 held in the camp that also houses people who traveled from around the world to join ISIS.
