[Daily Caller] A chief of staff of Democratic Rep. Yvette Clarke quietly agreed in early 2016 to sign away a $120,000 missing electronics problem on behalf of two former IT aides now suspected of stealing equipment from Congress, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.
Clarke’s chief of staff at the time effectively dismissed the loss and prevented it from coming up in future audits by signing a form removing the missing equipment from a House-wide tracking system after one of the Awan brothers alerted the office the equipment was gone. The Pakistani-born brothers are now at the center of an FBI investigation over their IT work with dozens of Congressional offices.
A senior House official with knowledge of the situation provided TheDCNF with new details about how exactly the brothers are suspected to have stolen the equipment and possibly data from Congress, raising questions about the members or staffers who were signing the checks on equipment purchases.
Keep in mind that Congressional offices are independent. They set up their own operating procedures. They have their own budgets. They buy their own equipment. Same for consumables. Their staff are not Civil Service (don't receive Federal pay) and are hired and fired by the office.

Last I looked, you could buy a fairly high end laptop for $1500. Now, if you're in the market for a high end data base server with eight CPUs, 256 GB of RAM, maybe 1024 GB of solid state disk storage and a tape library for backup, you could be in the $120,000 range. But I don't see the likes of Imran Awan being able to administer that kind of technology. So that leaves a helluva lotta room for graft.

They were never going to get the money back so it was simpler to "write it off the books". After all, it is Other Peoples Money™, right, Right?
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Among the eclectic throng of demonstrators in Boston on Saturday, a supporter of President Trump found himself surrounded by protesters who yelled profanities at him.
A man wearing an Israeli flag as a cape can be seen in a video shared by Univision's Jessica Weiss, walking through a crowd of protesters. One person rips off his "Make America Great Again" and throws it away.
Amid the obscenaties directed at him, one protester shouted, "Get the fuck out of our fucking town." Another person can be heard urging the other protesters not to be violent.
Weiss asked why he was in Boston to demonstrate, and the man replied, "I want to show that people shouldn't be afraid to voice their other views and voice their opinions."
"You shouldn't be afraid to go outside and say you're conservative," he added "And it's pretty sad that things like this happen."

A man wearing an Israeli flag as a cape
For some reason, the idea of Israeli flag as a cape does not appeal.
