[PJMedia] Google revealed in a blog post that it is now using machine learning to document "hate crimes and events" in America. They've partnered with liberal groups like ProPublica, BuzzFeed News, and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to make information about "hate events" easily accessible to journalists. And now, there are troubling signs that this tool could be used to ferret out writers and websites that run afoul of the progressive orthodoxy.
In the announcement, Simon Rogers, data editor of Google News Labs, wrote:
Now, with ProPublica, we are launching a new machine learning tool to help journalists covering hate news leverage this data in their reporting.
The Documenting Hate News Index ‐ built by the Google News Lab, data visualization studio Pitch Interactive and ProPublica ‐ takes a raw feed of Google News articles from the past six months and uses the Google Cloud Natural Language API to create a visual tool to help reporters find news happening across the country. It's a constantly-updating snapshot of data from this year, one which is valuable as a starting point to reporting on this area of news.
The Documenting Hate project launched in response to the lack of national data on hate crimes. While the FBI is required by law to collect data about hate crimes, the data is incomplete because local jurisdictions aren't required to report incidents up to the federal government.
All of which underlines the value of the Documenting Hate Project, which is powered by a number of different news organisations and journalists who collect and verify reports of hate crimes and events. Documenting Hate is informed by both reports from members of the public and raw Google News data of stories from across the nation.
On the surface, this looks rather innocuous. It's presented by Google as an attempt to create a database of hate crimes ‐ information that should be available with a quick Google search, it should be noted. But a quick glance at the list of partners for this project should raise some red flags:
The ProPublica-led coalition includes The Google News Lab, Univision News, the New York Times, WNYC, BuzzFeed News, First Draft, Meedan, New America Media, The Root, Latino USA, The Advocate, 100 Days in Appalachia and Ushahidi. The coalition is also working with civil-rights groups such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, and schools such as the University of Miami School of Communications.
ProPublica poses as a middle-of-the-road non-profit journalistic operation, but in reality, it's funded by a stable of uber-liberal donors, including George Soros's Open Society Foundations and Herb and Marion Sandler, billionaire former mortgage bankers whose Golden West Financial Corp. allegedly targeted subprime borrowers with "pick-a-pay" mortgages that led to toxic assets that were blamed for the collapse of Wachovia. The Southern Poverty Law Center, of course, is infamous for targeting legitimate conservatives groups, branding them as "hate groups" because they refuse to walk in lockstep with the progressive agenda. And it goes with out saying that The New York Times and BuzzFeed News lean left. Much more at link, too much to fit it all here.

Yes, Google is building a bubble so that nobody will be able to experience anything but the reality they present. It is information totalitarianism. Switch away from Google today, and tell your friends to do so too.

This one has got me steaming. It's not just conservative websites but anyone who disagrees with the propaganda. I've seen Progressive websites on YouTube (Owned by Google) that have been censored because Google doesn't agree with their position.

I don't know much about Richard Spencer other than he has been demonized as a white nationalist by the left-wing media. However, I do agree with his statement in the article:
"Authoritarianism in service of any cause leads to a slave society despite the best intentions of those who helped usher it in."
In another era, this all-to-familiar poem was written:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
The "They" can be the Progressives, Socialists, communists, the alt-left, alt-right, anarchists, Bilderbergs, etc.; whoever has authoritarian control intentions--anybody who is opposed to the freedom of the individual, i.e. the statists. My advice to those who want to manipulate and control us: "Go fvck yourselves. FOESAD!"

I use DuckDuckGo for searches and couple this with Privacy Badger, which filters out trackers and other similar ilk. It learns. Worked well for me.

[Robertreich.org] We have endured Donald Trump for 7 months. Although he has had few legislative victories, he has almost single-handedly destroyed the moral authority of the presidency of the United States at home and abroad, brought us to the brink of a nuclear war without consulting anyone, and sown division and hatred.
He has given encouragement and legitimacy to the ugliest in America.
How can this nation endure another 41 months of this man?
We can’t wait for Robert Mueller’s evidence of Russian collusion. Even if Mueller finds that some of Trump’s aides colluded, Mueller might well find that Trump had "plausible deniability." Top guns often arrange wrongdoing so the they can plausibly deny they knew it was occurring. That’s the art of the deal.
Let’s be clear. There is already enough evidence to impeach Trump on grounds of abuse of power, obstruction of justice, and violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution.
There is already enough evidence of mental impairment to invoke the 25th amendment.
I know, Republicans are in control of Congress. But this is no license for Trump to destroy the nation we love.
I know, removing Trump would mean having Mike Pence as president. But a principled right-winger is better for America and the world than an unhinged sociopath.
Republican as well as Democratic members of the House and Senate must commit themselves to removing this president.
Those of you represented by Democrats in the House or Senate must get their commitment to remove him, as soon as possible.
Those of you represented by Republicans in the House or Senate must let them know that you will campaign vigorously against them in 2018 unless they commit to removing Trump as well.

The sight of these America-hating globalists trying to wave the flag and get people motivated by patriotism is so hilarious my sides hurt every time I see it.

'unhinged psychopath...', funny how for Leftists anybody who doesn't do/say what they want must be crazy.

[Townhall] I took a week off from the milieu of political insanity to go out amongst the normals and chalk up another huge trial victory, and when I got back I was stunned - stunned! - to find that a consensus had formed that Nazis are bad. Beforehand, I had no idea where the establishment stood on Nazis, but now it's crystal clear. They hate Nazis because Nazis are bad. Everyone from CNN to Mitt Romney hates Nazis. I couldn't be prouder of an establishment that takes that kind of tough stand. They're going to hate Nazis, and they don't care whose jack-booted toes they step on!

These "elites" don't care what average Americans hink so long as they can preach to the ones that won't think. Plus while they yammer on, they get to enjoy the roaring in their empty heads from the echoes.

I had no idea where the establishment (mostly lefties) stood on Nazis, but now it's crystal clear. They hate Nazis because Nazis are bad.
The establishment also hates Russians because Russians are bad. Maybe the establishment are just into hating and more than a little bit crazy. Maybe it's time to take a vacation from the establishment as did the author of the article.
