Cholera outbreak in Sudan killed at least 22 people, health minister says
[AlJazeera] Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
has been stricken by a cholera outbreak that has killed nearly two dozen people and sickened hundreds more in recent weeks, health authorities said.

Health Minister Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim said in a statement on Sunday that at least 22 people have died from the disease, and that at least 354 confirmed cases of cholera have been detected across the war-torn country in recent weeks.

On Saturday, he declared a cholera epidemic in Sudan and noted that the outbreak was ''because of the weather conditions and because drinking water has been contaminated''.

He said the decision was taken in conjunction with authorities in the eastern state of Kassala, United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
agencies and experts after the ''discovery by the public health laboratory of the cholera virus''.

An official from the World Health Organization (WHO), Margaret Harris, said in a media call on Friday that 11,327 cholera cases with 316 deaths had been reported in Sudan so far.

''We expect to have more than has been reported,'' she added.

Cholera is a fast-developing, highly contagious infection that causes diarrhoea, leading to severe dehydration and possible death within hours when not treated, according to the WHO. It is transmitted through the ingestion of contaminated food or water and can kill within hours without treatment. Children under five are at particular risk.

Cholera is not uncommon in Sudan. A previous major outbreak left at least 700 dead and sickened about 22,000 in less than two months in 2017.

But the outbreak of the disease is the latest calamity for the region.

Devastating seasonal floods in recent weeks have also compounded the misery. Dozens of people have been killed and critical infrastructure has been washed away in 12 of Sudan's 18 provinces, according to local authorities. About 118,000 people have been displaced due to the floods, according to the United Nations' migration agency.

-War on Police-
Georgia deputy Brandon Cunningham killed in murder-suicide after responding to domestic dispute
[NYPOST] A Georgia sheriff's deputy was shot and killed while responding to a reported domestic dispute in what police said was an ambush on officers by a suspect who took his own life.

Two deputies responded to a call shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday and immediately were fired upon from a home in a subdivision in Hiram, Georgia, Major Ashley Henson of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said during a briefing.

The male suspect also fired ''a hail of bullets'' at other officers but only one was shot, Henson said.

Deputy Brandon Cunningham, 30, died at a hospital from a gunshot wound, Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge confirmed during the briefing.

''Tonight, we've lost a hero,'' Gulledge said, adding that ''it's going to be a tough time for all of us and all of our guys.''

The suspect, who was not immediately identified, died of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Henson said.

A woman who was involved in the domestic dispute had left but returned while police were at the scene.

She also had been shot and was transported to an Atlanta-area hospital and listed in stable, pH balanced condition, Henson said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will oversee the investigation, Henson said, adding that it was not immediately clear if any of the officers returned fire in the community about 27 miles northwest of Atlanta.

"Unfortunately, it appears as if our deputies were ambushed," Henson said.

She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. In addition to that, two complaints were filed with the International Crimes Tribunal over mass killings against Hasina, who resigned amid a student-led mass uprising and fled to India on August 5.

A case was filed on Sunday against the ousted prime minister and 12 others over the murder of two students in the capital's Sutrapur area during the recent student protests led by the platform Student Movement Against Discrimination.

The 12 other accused are former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, Dhaka south city mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, former education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, former state minister for posts, telecommunications, and information technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah al-Mamun, former Dhaka Metropolitan Police detective branch chief Harun Or Rashid, DMP joint commissioner Biplob Kumar, and former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman.

[NEWAGEBD] A case was filed on Sunday against the loathesome Sheikh Hasina and 33 others on charges of mass-killing at the rally of Hefajat-e-Islam Bangladesh in Motijheel Shapla Chattar area on May 5, 2013.

Bangladesh Peoples Party chairman Babul Sardar Chakhari filed the case with Dhaka chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.

Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki-al Farabi accepted the case and directed the officer-in-charge of Motijheel cop shoppe to investigate the matter and submit a report to the court.

The other accused include former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former prime minister's adviser Salman F Rahman, former PM's defense adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui, former Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Fazle Noor Taposh, former politicians Rashed Khan Menon and Hasanul Haque Inu, Awami League joint secretary general Mahbubul Alam Hanif, former Textiles minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed and IGP Hasan Mahabub Khandkar, former RAB chief AKM Shahidul Haque, former NSI chief Ziaul Ahsan, former police DC of Motijheel Division Biplab Kumar Sarker, former Motijheel Police Station OC Omar Faruk, former ward councilor Munsur Ahmed, the then Motijheel Chhatra League

Within the next 24 hour from 11:00pm on the day, the police and army members, in connivance with the accused, massacred the rally, it said.

They also took away the bodies in some city-corporation vehicles and buried them secretly at unknown locations, said the statement.

It also mentioned that during the massacre, many madrassah students were murdered and kidnapped.

When victims' parents went to the cop shoppes to file cases or General Diary, the authorities did not take any case in this regard.

On the fateful night, government forces swooped on thousands of members of Hefajat-e-Islam Bangladesh, the Qawmi madrassah-based organization, at Shapla Chattar.

Hefazat demanded stronger Islamic policies, including stringent punishment for ‘atheist bloggers.'

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
One killed as explosion rocks Tel Aviv
[IRNA] Local media, citing Israeli police, said that a man was driving his truck when an bomb on his vehicle went off on Sunday night.

Police say they are investigating all possibilities behind the incident, the media outlets said.

Some reports said the incident was criminal.
Israel has several active criminal groups, as far as I can tell: Arab, Jewish, illegal alien, etc., and from time to time one sees the usual sort of internecine violence.
Others said it was a retaliatory operation by Paleostinians, adding that the slain man had worn an boom belt that went kaboom! before the scheduled time.

Israeli media also said the body of the person killed in the blast could not be identified.

Strip, in the latest waves of Israel's deadly attacks across the besieged Paleostinian territory.

At least 25 Paleostinians were killed in the past 24 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Sunday.

The parents and their six children were killed in Deir el-Balah in the central part of the Strip, al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said. The grandfather of the children said their mother worked for the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
.
Was she then Hamas, or her father or husband, that she got such a plum of a job?
''My daughter, together with her husband and six children, was sleeping peacefully at home in Deir al-Balah. They were taken by surprise, an Israeli missile landed over their heads. The entire house was flattened. They were all killed,'' Mohammed Awad Khattab told Al Jazeera.

''My daughter has been struggling to have children for years. She had those children through IVF —
…IVF is very expensive. They must have been highly connected to afford it…
What wrong did those innocent children do? Were they posing any danger to Israel? Were they carrying arms?'' he asked.

Al Jazeera's Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Deir el-Balah, said: ''Four of her children were twins and they have been lined up together in order to be buried in cemeteries here in this town.

''We have seen really heartbreaking scenes this morning with dozens of bodies lined up in the morgue outside al-Aqsa Hospital. There has been a remarkable surge in Israeli strikes in Deir el-Balah where Paleostinians were told to seek refuge,'' Abu Azzoum added
Y’all had fun starting your little war with murder, rape and pillaging. Now that Israel is finishing it, enjoy knowing that this is all your own fault.
Israel's 10-month-long offensive has so far killed more than 40,000 Paleostinians in Gaza.

So how innocent is GAZA?
Because when a person provides support and helps hide Terrorists activities, they have joined their cause. In legal terms that makes them co-conspirators to the terrorists plans of Jewish genocide.

''Earlier today, three peacekeepers on patrol were lightly injured when a kaboom occurred near their clearly marked UN vehicle in the vicinity of Yarine, in south Lebanon,'' the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said in a statement.

''All peacekeepers in the patrol returned safely to their base. We are looking into the incident,'' it added.

Earlier Sunday, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency had reported that ''Israeli enemy warplanes'' struck the village of Dhayra, about one kilometer (0.6 miles) from Yarine, ''resulting in injuries.''

A UNIFIL source told AFP the earth-shattering kaboom that injured the peacekeepers was probably a nearby air strike, but ''not a direct hit.''

Earlier in August, Under Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix told AFP that UNIFIL was today ''more important than ever'' amid the ongoing cross-border festivities, because it was ''the only liaison channel between the Israeli side and the Lebanese side in all its components, such as Hezbollah.''

In April, a judicial official told AFP that an ongoing Lebanese army investigation determined that a land mine maimed three UN military observers and a translator the previous month, while Israel implicated Hezbollah.

UNIFIL's mandate, which expires at the end of the month, is set to be renewed by the UN Security Council for another year.

The cross-border violence has killed 582 people in Lebanon, mostly Hezbollah fighters but including at least 128 civilians, according to an AFP tally.
"civilians"
On the Israeli side, including in the annexed Golan Heights, 22 soldiers and 26 civilians have been killed, according to army figures.

Hezbollah commander dies in airstrike after phone call
[NYPOST] Israel lured out an elusive Hezbollah commander with a mysterious phone call moments before launching the deadly Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
that would kill him and cause the terror group to vow Dire Revenge, according to a new report.

Fuad Shukr, who had evaded even the US for four decades, was killed on July 30 when he received a phone call in the southern Beirut neighborhood of Dahiyeh, a Hezbollah official told the Wall Street Journal.
"I'm calling about your car's extended warranty..."
The evening call instructed the Hezbollah commander to go up to the seventh floor of his building, with an Israel missile slamming into the complex at around 7 p.m., killing him, his family and injuring 70 others, according to Leb

Officials in the terror group believe the call came from someone who had breached its internal communications network, exposing failures in Hezbollah’s intelligence network that compromised one of its most senior and elusive leaders.

Shukr was one of Hezbollah’s key founders and trusted ally of chief His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah

, both of whom backed the terror group’s ongoing attacks on Israel since Oct. 8.

Despite his high-ranking position, the commander had remained out of the public spotlight since the 1983 Beirut bombings, where faceless myrmidons detonated two truck bombs at military barracks in the city, killing 241 American servicemen.

Shukr was so elusive that even people living in the same building where he hid and operated had no idea who he was.

The Hezbollah officials’ shadow nature even followed him to the grave, with Lebanese media outlets initially publishing photos of the wrong man following the July airstrike.

The IDF had targeted Shukr following the attack he allegedly greenlit the rocket attack against the Israel-controlled Golan Heights, which killed 12 young people and left 40 other civilians injured.
