[DailySignal] Foreign donors have poured over $130 million into U.S.-based climate activist nonprofits, according to a new database tracking over $5 billion in foreign funding.
"Our database makes it clear foreign cash is bankrolling much of the Death Eater climate activist movement in America," Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of Americans for Public Trust, told the Daily Signal. "Radical activist groups dedicated to undermining American energy dominance, like Energy Foundation China, Sierra Club, and League of Conservation Voters, are recipients of vast sums of foreign money."
While the law prohibits foreign donations to political candidates, foreign donors can legally contribute to U.S. groups organized as tax-exempt entities under the IRS ...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies... code. Many foreign foundations already disclose their funding to U.S.-based groups, but Americans for Public Trust claims that disclosure is inadequate.
The database, available at FollowForeignMoney.org, presents information from the annual reports of foreign foundations, involving 523 groups and 12,094 records. Most of the U.S. recipients of foreign funds advocate for causes on the Left. Americans for Public Trust filtered out traditional charitable causes, such as children’s hospitals and the Meals on Wheels Program, to focus on activism. It currently includes funding sources from Sweden, Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... , the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
FOREIGN FUNDS FOR CLIMATE ACTIVISM
The database shows more than $130 million in foreign funding going to climate activist groups based in the United States.
The Sierra Club, one of America’s oldest and largest environmental groups, began as a conservation-minded organization but has increasingly championed restrictions on traditional forms of energy, particularly fossil fuels. The Sierra Club received $50,000 from the Switzerland-based Berger Action Fund in 2014. It also received $1.8 million from the Swiss-based Wyss Foundation from 2004 to 2024. Hansjörg Wyss, a Swiss citizen who now lives in the U.S., set up both foundations. The Sierra Club also received $600,000 from the Swiss-based Oak Foundation in 2009.
Environment America, another left-leaning climate activist nonprofit, received $1 million from the Oak Foundation in 2009. The foundation awarded the grant "to persuade the U.S. Congress and the president to pass a national cap on global warming pollution with a near-term cap of 35% by 2020 and long-term reductions of at least 80% by 2050."
This grant appears to match the activist campaign supporting the American Clean Energy and Security Act, HR 2454, which failed in the Senate.
The League of Conservation Voters, another influential climate activist group, also received $28 million from Berger Action Fund from 2016 to 2024, according to the database. The league’s PAC, the League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, received $400,050 from the Oak Foundation in 2010 and $3.2 million from the Wyss Foundation from 2002 to 2024.
The Natural Resources Defense Council, one of America’s largest climate activist groups, received $472,708 from the Oak Foundation in 2014.
Energy Foundation China, a U.S.-based nonprofit that funds climate change projects and focuses on China, received $85 million from the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, based in the United Kingdom, from 2014 to 2024. The foundation received $14.4 million from the Oak Foundation between 2012 and 2023. It received $4 million from the U.K.-based Quadrature Climate Foundation in 2022.
[NYP] WASHINGTON — Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is fuming over the Army’s decision to withdraw new academic standards for college students in the ROTC program — including requiring a score of at least 1000 on the SAT — to ensure that "stupid people" are not becoming military officers.
The new standards were announced on Aug. 5 in an internal memo issued by then-assistant secretary of the Army for manpower and reserve affairs Jules Hurst, whom the Senate confirmed as Pentagon comptroller two days later.
"The Army must cultivate intelligent and adaptive officers to build a lethal and ready Army prepared to deter, fight, and win our nation’s wars. The strength of our Officer Corps is the strength of our Army," Hurst wrote. Hegseth flipped over another ugly rock did he ?

There is a race problem buried in this, and no one, even these days, wants to face that ugly conversation.
In the old days of my time, we navigated around the worst of it by making the assignments peripheral to core capabilities, mainlining those who were actually competent, and keeping the losers in short term positions, usually 18-36 months.

The commonwealth recently wrapped up the $1.4 billion Gateway Investment Program to deliver better port services. As a result, Norfolk Harbor offers channels on the U.S. East Coast that are among the deepest and widest, allowing safe, two-way traffic for fully loaded ultra-large container vessels.
In addition, the Virginia Port Authority operates an inland port near Front Royal, which is connected by rail to the harbor and provides swift access to importers and exporters. The facility is such a success that state lawmakers are considering a second such facility in Washington County.
However, not all imports are high value. While plenty of iPhones and automobiles flowed into Virginia last year, so did tons of trash.

"American citizenship is not for sale," posted Rubio on August 12. "But elaborate birth tourism rings are profiting off the exploitation of America's laws- coaching foreigners to defraud the U.S. visa system, arranging travel and housing, and even forging documents, all to enable foreign nationals to obtain citizenship for their children." These people have no loyalty to American principles or the Constitution; they are using our system for their own ends.
Unlike previous administrations, the Trump administration is trying to quash this kind of fraud. "The State Department established a Birth Tourism Prevention Task Force to review the activity of visa holders, dismantle illegal birth tourism networks, and put an end to this heinous abuse of our nation's laws," Rubio announced. "In just one month, the Birth Tourism Prevention Task Force has taken action to revoke more than 600 visas from foreign nationals across the globe and will continue to safeguard our nation from this abuse."
Rubio assured Americans, "The State Department will use all available tools to dismantle birth tourism networks and defend the integrity of U.S. citizenship."

Chinese Commies and Moslems have particularly taken advantage of networks that fly pregnant women to America for a certain price just long enough for the mothers to give birth to automatic American citizens. There are up to thousands of these scammers and centers offering birth tourism packages, so the Trump administration will be busy for a long time.
The State Department did also release an official blurb on the Birth Tourism Prevention Task Force, which plans to track activities of visa holders around the world and assess if they appear to be engaged in sketchy activities that warrant revocation of the visas.
The blurb stated, "Thanks to the coordination of the Task Force, the Department of State is addressing birth tourism on a global scale, examining travel histories of individuals from all around the world in order to end this exploitation and abuse." And it cannot happen fast enough.

The 25-page document confirms what we reported for much of 2025, and claims Chinese firms systematically diverted goods through lower-tariff jurisdictions since the US kicked off its trade war with China in 2018.
It alleges that exporters use limited assembly, relabelling, repackaging, re-invoicing and false country-of-origin declarations to disguise Chinese-origin products and secure more favourable tariff treatment on entry into the US.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan tells Just the News the recently revealed FBI operation known as Round River was an effort to obstruct congressional investigators from getting to the truth about Democrat corruption and to interfere in the 2020 election to help Joe Biden win. "It's ridiculous what happened, and it's just wrong," he declared.
"This wasn't an investigation that was being run by the FBI and the intel community. This was an operation, an operation, I think, to protect Joe Biden as he was running for president," Jordan said in a wide-ranging interview on the Just the News, No Noise television show.
The powerful committee chairman and Ohio Republican was reacting to news reported Thursday morning that newly declassified documents show the FBI had 14 confidential informants reporting derogatory evidence on Biden during the 2020 election but embarked on an effort to dismiss that evidence of a corrupt Ukrainian energy company enriching his family as "Russian disinformation."
DISMISSED EVIDENCE OUT OF HAND
One of the documents showed that Jordan was listed by the FBI and spy agencies as "a conduit" of Russian disinformation along with Attorney General Bill Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson, as well as other prominent conservatives.
A 2025 U.S. intelligence community review of the Round River operation raised concerns that FBI analysts put politics over national security and didn't even bother to determine if the Ukraine allegations were true before dismissing them as Russian propaganda.
Jordan revealed he was given a defensive briefing in 2020 by the FBI suggesting the Biden allegations he was investigating were Russian disinformation and said he found it laughable.
