^ The methodology used in the FRED chart is based on average price. It does not take into account the total market so it doesn't really recognize the increased in the total amount of residential real estate in China (because a lot has been added in the past 15 years).
Still, I certainly recognize the situation in China is pretty grim for the average citizen trying to save.
