Biden to Pardon 2K Military Vets Convicted of Gay Sex
[NEWSMAX] President Joe Biden is expected to pardon around 2,000 veterans who were convicted by the United States military of engaging in gay sex over a 60-year period, CNN reported Tuesday.

Biden's pardon proclamation, the first step of a lengthy bureaucratic process, is expected to be announced Wednesday, according to CNN.

Biden's pardon allows those vets to then apply for a certificate of pardon, which, if granted, could be used to apply for a change or upgrade to their discharge, which could result in them receiving withheld benefits or an expansion of benefits, according to the report.

The respective military branches decide if those pardoned by Biden are eligible for a certificate of pardon. If granted, vets use the certificate of pardon to apply to their respective branch's board of corrections to have their record corrected, according to CNN.

Biden's pardon targets service members who were convicted under Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 125 between 1951 and 2013, according to CNN. The article, rewritten in 2013, criminalized sodomy even if between consenting adults, CNN reported.

Non-consensual acts will not be pardoned.

Affluent island getaway where Obamas enjoy $12M mansion faces a housing crisis so bad it is 'threatening public safety'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The affluent U.S. island beloved by the Obamas - and favored in summer by hordes of the rich and famous - is facing a housing shortage that has gotten so severe it is 'threatening public safety' for its residents.

Staggering seasonal rents - averaging nearly $1,000 a night - are forcing regular workers, including restaurant, store employees, doctors, correctional officers and 911 dispatchers, to flee their jobs on Martha's Vineyard, amid the lack of affordable housing, officials said.

Sheriff Robert Ogden of Dukes County said the cost of housing has gotten so bad, he now considers it a public safety issue on the island.

Ogden said his department, which oversees 11 islands including Martha's Vineyard, has a staffing need of 11 emergency operators who provide lifesaving 911 instructions and relay to responders by phone - including CPR instructions.

A home in the quaint New England colony just south of Cape Cod can run upwards of $6,500 for a week stay, particularly during the peak summer months. And the mounting problem is that many landlords are more interested in cashing-in on these short-term visitors in place of their year-round working residents.

#2  Those rich enough to "cash in" on short term visitors at the expense of essential long term workers living nearby can certainly find it in their wealth to come up with a way to house & feed the essential workers. If they can't or won't do that, they can certainly do without those "essential services". When their ancestors had servants decades or centuries ago, they housed and fed them.

#8  My mother came from a part of Michigan that grows a lot of cherries. In ye olden times, cherry farms would solicit migrant laborers to pick the crops during the weeks when they were ready. All the old farms had rows of migrant housing - from a distance they looked exactly like dwelling units in an old time motel, with clothes lines and parking in front. Many of the housing units are still there. I don't know what they're now used for, none seems to live there. Migrants would show up in old cars with their families and stay several weeks. In off season the housing was empty. Local school kids would also go and pick cherries, but there were never of them to do the job.
Nowadays they spray the ripe cherry trees with something that makes the cherries more prone to fall off, and use "shakers" that deploy what looks like an inverted umbrella around the trunk of the tree, then a big gripper deploys, grasps the trunk and shakes the tree to bring down the ripe fruit. Interesting process to watch. The "shaking" is hard on the trees and some are damaged each year, but it's not a major problem. Much easier for the farmers than getting all those workers to show up for a few weeks a year.
Places like Martha's Vineyard could simply supply housing for workers they want always there, gratis as part of their employment. But they are too cheap and want taxpayers in other parts of Massachusetts to foot their bills. The state government should not support this at all.
A similar problem exists in Jackson Hole WY. Last I heard the local government provided housing for some staff like the chief of police.

Government Corruption
FBI probes NYC Mayor Eric Adams' use of private email addresses, trips to China: report
[FoxNews] FBI probe comes months after agency seized mayor's electronic devices.

Federal authorities are investigating New York City Mayor Eric Adams' use of a private email addresses and how records from seven trips he made to China have disappeared.

The New York Post, citing a source close to the probe, said the prominent NYC mayor used three private email addresses to arrange his dealings in China on his seven trips to the foreign country.

At least one of the trips, per the outlet, was partly funded by the Chinese Communist Party.

The private email accounts cannot be traced on New York City government servers, meaning that key details, such as who paid for the trips and with whom he met, remain concealed.

The outlet said Adams and one of his top aides and director of Asian Affairs since he took office in 2022, Winnie Greco, used the nonofficial emails between 2014 and 2021, when he was Brooklyn Borough president.

It was immediately unclear what the federal government is seeking to find from Adams’ China trips, the Post said.

The FBI declined to comment on the investigation.

Last year, federal investigators quietly seized the mayor's cellphones and an iPad as he was leaving an event in Manhattan.

The initial probe is believed to be focused, at least in part, on whether the Adams campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal campaign contributions from foreign sources, funneled through straw donors, according to a warrant reported on by the New York Times.

Intel contractors on CIA's payroll colluded with the Biden campaign to discredit Hunter's laptop as...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] …'Russian disinfo,' bombshell new report claims

Some ex-intelligence officials were actively being paid by the CIA on a contract basis when they signed the letter that falsely claimed Hunter Biden's laptop was 'Russian disinformation.'

Michael Morell, former deputy director of the CIA, and former CIA Inspector General David Buckley was another, according to a bombshell new report from the House Judiciary Committee.

Morell was the one who organized the letter after a call from now-Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He said he did it to give Biden a 'talking point' in the lead-up to the 2020 election when Trump attacked him for the laptop that was later verified to be his son's.

According to the report, high-ranking CIA officials were made aware of the letter before its publishing and some raised concerns about the political nature of the letter.

'The signatories’ decision to leverage their former intelligence community titles to promote a narrative about foreign election interference improperly embroiled the [CIA] in domestic politics,' the report states saying it 'underscores the potential dangers of a politicized intelligence community.'

Earlier this month, Republicans told DailyMail.com that they are seeking punishment for the 51 intelligence officials who falsely claimed in 2020 that Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation.

The infamous memo signed by the pro-Biden officials in the lead up to the 2020 election claimed that damning pictures and messages found on Hunter Biden's laptop bore the earmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign.

That allowed Joe to discredit the laptop and its damning evidence during presidential debates, town halls and other media appearances prior to his election.

Now, Republicans are demanding retribution on these 51 ex-intel individuals, saying they should be fired, criminally prosecuted or even thrown in jail.

'I think one their clearances need to be revoked,' Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview Wednesday during congressional baseball practice.

'I think there needs to be an investigation into every single one of them.'

The laptop 'from Hell' was originally discovered at a Delaware tech repair shop. Later, the FBI retrieved the device and verified its authenticity.

The laptop was back in the spotlight during Hunter Biden's recent federal gun trial - where he was found guilty of three felonies. An FBI agent witness confirmed that the agency confirmed the authenticity of materials found on the device.

DailyMail.com led reporting on the laptop since its discovery and had independently verified it in 2021.

Cammack continued: 'We know that the intel community never operates in absolutes and the fact that we had 51 come forward and try to put forward a narrative that this was disinformation, misinformation when everyone knew full well that it wasn't, that it was very real.'

She said the revelation is evidence of the weaponization and politicization of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

'That speaks volumes about the politicization and the weaponization of the DOJ and the IC (intelligence community).'

'There has to be repercussions otherwise, the verified credibility of the IC is on the line if there is not a single thing that is done to those Intel officers.'

'Spies Who Lie' leader, cosigners were CIA contractors
[NYPOST] Some of the 51 "Spies Who Lie" were active CIA contractors when they claimed files from first son Hunter Biden’s laptop had "the classic earmarks" of Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 election — a fact that was uneasily noted inside the agency at the time, new records acquired by The Post show.

Former CIA acting director Michael Morell, who previously told Congress he organized the Oct. 19, 2020, letter to give Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body....
a "talking point" against then-President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
ahead of a debate, was a contractor at the time, the agency informed Congress.

Ex-agency inspector general David Buckley also was a contractor at the time of the letter, according to an interim report from two House committees investigating the matter, and records suggest that at least two other letter-signers may also have had active contracts at the time.

The terms of the contracts and compensation were not immediately clear.

Morell flatly denied he was a contractor when contacted by The Post, writing Tuesday in an email, "If you write that, you would [be] wrong."

Morell doubled down in a second email, writing that "I can’t" speculate on why he was listed as a contractor and insisting: "It’s wrong."

A congressional source provided The Post with the CIA’s document outing Morell as a contractor after his denial.

Robert Dugas, CIA deputy general counsel for litigation and investigations, shared the information in an April 25 letter.

"I write to provide an UNCLASSIFIED document related to your ... letters seeking information," Dugas told politicians, along with a five-name chart that listed Morell and Buckley as contractors as the date of the letter.

"The evidence in our report speaks for itself and it seems that the spy who lied is continuing to do so," Russell Dye, front man for the House Judiciary Committee, fired back Tuesday evening.

The five-name table identifying Morell as a contractor specified that former CIA Director John Brennan
...director of the CIA under the Obama administration. One of the deeper dwelling denizens of the Deep State, probably the guy who lit the match that launched the Russiagate coup attempt...
and fellow letter-signers Nick Rasmussen and Marc Polymeropoulos had no such arrangement.

The laptop-denying letter — which notably only described signers as "former" intelligence operatives — was controversial within the CIA, internal records indicate.

"This frustrates me. I don’t think it is helpful to the Agency in the long run," a CIA official whose identity was redacted wrote on Oct. 20, 2020 — the day after the letter was distributed to Politico — with a link to the outlet’s story.
No doubt a common sentiment in certain quiet corners of our readership. Our sympathies, guys.

#1  My question would be if this was a CIA sponsored disinformation operation. They should not be seeking to influence an American election at all. Gen. Flynn Warning: Before Nov., Dems Can Stick Us with Unelected POTUS/VP - Technically Legal, Extremely Troubling
[Western] Mark Twain was said to have written: "History does not repeat itself, but it rhymes."

Today, we look back a half-century to see what precedents exist for how Democratic power brokers just might address the problem of keeping their party in power, without relying on either a mentally challenged president or an intellectually challenged vice president.

Make no mistake about it. There are powerful Democratic forces lurking behind Joe Biden’s throne who even now are plotting ways to shove him to the side. His performance at the Group of Seven conference in Italy, where Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had to take him by the arm after he wandered off from his colleagues, might have been the final straw.

The problem they face is how to avoid elevating to the presidency the nation’s first female and first nonwhite vice president without losing support from the Democrats’ most reliable constituencies.

With these people, no strategy is off the table in order to retain political power.

Boebert wins House primary after switching districts after narrow 2022 win
[FoxNews] Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., emerged victorious in her congressional re-election primary campaign Tuesday night, following her switching districts to a more Republican-heavy area after narrowly winning in 2022.

Boebert advanced past a six-way Republican primary in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District in a race to replace outgoing Republican Rep. Ken Buck.

The Colorado Republican said she made the switch to CO-04 to ensure another Republican could win her old district, which she nearly lost in 2022 and had blamed outside groups for targeting her. But Boebert left the district having already become a fundraising magnet for the likely Democrat candidate, who has pulled in millions that may help him flip a district that has leaned Republican in recent years.

Boebert is expected to also win the November general election in the district, which sweeps across a wide expanse of ranches, ghost towns and conservative parts of the Denver metro area that make up much of the plains of eastern Colorado. Its voters overwhelmingly backed former President Trump in 2020.

NY16 Primary: Hamas Caucus Member Jamaal Bowman Goes Down in Defeat As Bronx Democrats Choose Latimer
[Red State] Bye, Asshole
It's official.

Embattled fire alarm puller Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) lost in his uphill primary battle against Westchester County Executive George Latimer in one of the most closely watched races in America Tuesday.

Though the results are still coming in as of this writing, with about 50 percent reported, Latimer leads Bowman 55 percent (21,770 votes) to 45 percent (17,833).

With his loss, Bowman has the distinction of becoming the first member of the so-called "Squad" of Democratic Socialists in Congress, led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to go down in defeat.

[Jpost] ...Latimer, a centrist who hewed to a pro-Israel position during the campaign, was declared the winner by the Associated Press and other news outlets around 40 minutes after the polls closed at 9 p.m.

Wash Examiner update - Bowman out: ‘Squad' Democrat loses to pro-Israel challenger in New York primary
[Washington Examiner] Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) lost his primary on Tuesday in a stinging setback for House progressives after a coalition of establishment Democrats and pro-Israel groups aligned to defeat him.

The Associated Press called the race for Westchester County Executive George Latimer at 9:38 p.m., over half an hour after the polls closed. Latimer defeated Bowman in New York’s 16th Congressional District 54.8% to 45.2% with 51% of votes counted.

Bowman had been trailing Latimer in the polls, but his loss represents a high-profile rebuke of Congress’s most progressive members, whose anti-Israel views have set them at odds with the mainstream of the Democratic Party. The 16th District is a solidly Democratic seat, meaning that Latimer will be favored to win the general election in November.

Bowman has attracted controversy since arriving in Congress in 2021. He has opposed resolutions condemning Hamas for its attack on Israel on Oct. 7, while he called the idea that Israeli women were raped in the massacre "propaganda."

Allies such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) rallied behind him in the days leading up to the New York primary, but a spate of local and national figures came out against his reelection bid in his New York district, home to a large Jewish population.

In one notable defection, fellow progressive and former Rep. Mondaire Jones endorsed Latimer over the incumbent. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also endorsed Latimer, drawing the ire of House progressives as well.

#5  Cori Bush (MO-1) is the only other squad member who is in danger of being defeated in a primary.

Her district is 50% black and despite considerable problems (e.g. using campaign funds to support her boyfriend) she has relatively high 'positives' in the district.

#6  Yeah, Occasional Cortex won her primary in a walk. I haven't heard anything about Omar or Ratshita being in any trouble. And there are a few others who choose not to identify as Squat members but might as well be.

Unhinged Maxine Waters warns of 'killings,' fears for safety of black people if Trump wins
[BIZPACREVIEW] Rep. >The Ageless and Downright Brilliant Comrade Maxine Impeach 45! Waters
...U.S. Representative for life from California's 43rd congressional district, serving since 1991, a total of 32.56890 years. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the most senior of the twelve black women currently serving in the United States Congress, and a member and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Before becoming a member of Congress she served in the California Assembly, to which she was first elected back when Disco was in flower, in 1976, which would make it 47.56685 years. She has been a politician for virtually all her adult life. If she was a little brighter she'd be a Communist...
(D-CA) may often give the appearance of someone who’s off their meds but she’s just bat guano crazy, especially when it comes to former President Donald J. Trump.

The octogenarian Democrat has been even more delusional than she normally is as of late with it looking increasingly likely that Trump will be able to overcome her party’s lawfare and return to the White House, a possibility that has "Auntie Maxine" spewing conspiracy theories on MSNBC.

Already having insisted that right-wingers are "training up in the hills" for civil war over the election results and demanding that the feds investigate "domestic terrorist" Trump supporters, the goofy granny with the James Brown hair claimed that if Trump wins, there will be violence against black people and "more killings" during an appearance on "The Saturday Show" with Jonathan Capehart.

#2  "In me dear sphere of Waterford crystal,
I see... ebon hands... many pistols...
And shooting. Looks loud.
Sure Miss Stone should be proud!"
"It's my district?"
"No, Dublin and Bristol."

#3  The only blacks that seem liable to be accosted by anyone are the blacks wearing MAGA hats by Dem operatives. Thankfully, there are now a lot of them and many of the black MAGA folks look like they can bench press considerable weight.

#4  Was she in another country between 2016 & 2020 when Trump was President and that never happened? and some feel it was the best 4 years for Black Americans since America was created?
