Ryan Watson is on His Way Home from Turks and Caicos
BLUF:
[HOT AIR] Watson is a hunter and claimed the bullets in his bag were an oversight. He didn't have a gun in his bag. He chalked it up to a mistake.

The weird thing is that he is one of five Americans who have been arrested there because of ammunition in their bags. After Watson's release, there are still two Americans waiting to learn their fate.
An even greater "mistake" would be ever vacationing there again.

Genovese mobster ‘Tony Cakes' ID'd as NYC pedestrian, 86, decapitated by DOT truck
[NYPost] Wow. That got weird, quick!
It was La Crossing Nostra.

The 86-year-old man who was decapitated by a truck that plowed into him at a Brooklyn crosswalk is a former acting captain for the Genovese crime family, The Post can exclusively reveal.

Anthony Conigliaro — a one-time mafioso known as "Tony Cakes," "Tony the Dessert Man," among other dessert-themed sobriquets — died June 12 in an accidental hit by a city Department of Transportation truck, his lawyers and law-enforcement sources said.

Grisly footage showed Conigliaro’s head several yards from his body.

"He spent his life looking over his shoulder but he forgot to look both ways before crossing the street," one police source said.

Before Conigliaro’s gruesome death, he apparently lived a quiet life by himself in a small Bay Ridge apartment building on Dahlgren Place.

A neighbor told The Post that Conigliaro, a dad of two, always looked out for others.

"We miss him. Everybody misses him," he said.

But the neighbor didn’t know about Conigliaro’s past — which not only included a connection to the mafia, but also a nearly two-decade-old racketeering case.

Brooklyn federal prosecutors in 2005 accused Conigliaro — who toiled for years in the wholesale cake business, selling sweets across the New York City area and running an Italian ice and gelato stand in Little Italy, according to court documents — of being a soldier in the Genovese crime family.

Conigliaro worked as a loan shark for the Genovese, the feds said in a four-count indictment.

He eventually copped a guilty plea to a racketeering conspiracy charge, for which he received a 13-month sentence, court records state.

Conigliaro also was arrested in 1999 for criminal usury and in 2006 in a grand larceny case, which has since been sealed, sources said.

The Post’s attempts to contact Conigliaro’s family were unsuccessful.

Mathew Mari, a longtime mob lawyer who counted Conigliaro as a friend and client, said the man he knew as "Tony Cheesecake" successfully delved into the dessert business after his time behind bars.

"Later on in life he became known as Tony the Dessert Man," Mari said.

"He was a kind gentle soft spoken very quiet guy. Always trying to help people."

A small memorial for the apparent former goodfella — four bouquets of flowers and two candles — was set up Friday at 92nd Street and Dahlgren Place, where he was fatally struck.

Grisly footage from the crash showed Conigliaro’s head severed several yards from his crumbled body — and a DOT driver, who was behind the wheel of a city truck when the elderly man walked against a traffic light to cross the street, looking teary-eyed and devastated.

"Now we know why that DOT guy was crying... he’s probably asking for witness protection," one source said.

Philadelphia influencer 'Meatball' sentenced to 5 years probation for livestreaming looting mayhem
[NYPOST] A Philadelphia influencer known as "Meatball" dodged jail time Thursday for live-streaming rabid looters who raided several stores across the city during protests last September.

The 22-year-old influencer, whose real name is Dayjia Blackwell, was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to complete 150 hours of community service on Thursday.

Blackwell was originally charged with six felonies including burglary, criminal trespassing, conspiracy, criminal mischief, riot with the intent to commit a felony and criminal use of a communication facility.

She entered guilty pleas for two of the charges — riot with the intent to commit a felony and criminal use of a communication facility, according to Fox 29 Philadelphia.

Along with the probation, Blackwell must also pay a $10,000 fine.

Texas family of taekwondo black belts save woman from being raped, pin down suspect
[NYPOST] An entire family of taekwondo black belts saved a woman from being sexually assaulted in Texas after hearing her terrified screams for help and quickly pinning the suspect down.

The An family sprung into action after hearing the victim’s unsettling shrieks from inside a mobile phone store next to their martial arts studio, Yong-In Tae Kwon Do, in Cypress on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Grandmaster Han An, an eighth-degree black belt and South Korean military vet, quickly sprinted outside — trailed closely by his wife and their three kids.

They found the suspect, identified by cops as 19-year-old Alex Robinson, allegedly attacking the woman and trying to hold his hand over her mouth.

It took just moments for An to take the alleged perp out with a kick and punch.

"He just kept him in the corner, he just kept pushing down. Automatic self-defense, automatic taekwondo style," An’s son, Simon An, 20, told KHOU.

"You wouldn’t really expect it in an everyday situation, but when the time comes, it’s very valuable," he added of the family’s martial arts training.

An’s wife, Hong, and their daughter, Hannah, quickly rushed the victim next door to the safety of their taekwondo studio until cops descended on the scene.

"Making sure that she’s okay because she needed that after that experience — after that situation that happened out of nowhere," Hannah, 22, told the outlet.

Authorities found the An family still holding Robinson to the ground when they arrived, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

"By utilizing their training and discipline, they managed to stop the assault and hold him," the sheriff said in a statement.

Robinson was cuffed and later charged with attempted sexual assault, unlawful detention, and assault on the instructors.

Prince Harry can forget about reconciling with royals if he publishes another tell-all, expert says

[NYPOST] Prince Harry has been warned to avoid writing a second book that’s a follow-up to his tell-all memoir, "Spare."

Following the release of his protocol-shattering book in January last year, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he has enough content to write more books about his experience growing up as a royal.

Harry, 39, said he was forced to cut out nearly half his content from the first draft.

Fishermen in Mississippi pull off dramatic rescue of 38 dogs treading water
That's something you don't see every day. 38 dogs treading water, I mean, not dramatic rescues.
[FoxNews] Two anglers and their fishing guide heard barking from a distance while fishing in Mississippi's Grenada Lake.

The dogs were a part of an annual fox run that takes place in the area, Gist said he learned after the encounter.

Chrestman noticed a deer in the water and the group of dogs were attempting to chase the animal.

"We went on fishing for about 10 or 15 more minutes, and Jordan [Chrestman] said, 'Hey guys, if you don't mind, we really need to go check on those dogs because they're way out there in that water,'" Gist said.

Gist and Carlisle had Chrestman lead them over to the pups.

Once the boat arrived on the scene, the three men were left stunned.

"We're just flabbergasted because it's dogs everywhere, and they're all going in different directions because they can no longer see the bank on either side," Gist said.

"And they're all hunting dogs — we can clearly see that because they have expensive GPS radio collars on them."

Without hesitation, the men took the dogs onto the boat so they wouldn't drown.

"We just immediately started calling dogs on the boat, you know, grabbed their collar and put them in the [bass] boat," Gist said.

The three fishermen grabbed as many dogs as they could and fit them on the boat before running out of room.

Chrestman managed to gather 25 to 27 dogs, making sure none of the pups attempted to jump back into the water.

Once the men returned the dogs to the bank, they found the owners in a panic and calling out for help, Gist said.

After rescuing the second group of dogs, one man on land told Gist and the others that he had the GPS tracker for the dogs and asked if he could join the rescue.

The tracker led the other men to an additional group of three to four dogs who were estimated to be further than a mile from the bank, according to Gist.

"They were on the verge of drowning, because now they have been treading water for an hour," Gist said.

"We got back over to the ramp with that last bunch of dogs… [and] we were having to drag them out of the boat because they didn't want to get out of our boat. They were scared they were going back to the water. It was terrible."

SCOTUS Decision Raises Timing Question On Biden's Illegal Immigration Order
BLUF:
[WIRE] "Now we know why: the Supreme Court ruled today in a 6-3 decision that the U.S. is not required to admit immigrant spouses of American citizens in a case involving an MS-13 member whose spouse was a U.S. citizen and who demanded legalization," Davis continued. "’From this Nation’s beginnings, the admission of noncitizens into this country was characterized as ’of favor [and] not right,’ the Court ruled."

Davis’ conclusion was that someone at the White House may have known which way that decision was going to go prior to Friday’s announcement: "Somebody at the White House was clearly tipped off about the unannounced Supreme Court decision, which explains why the White House rushed out such a shoddily written and argued new executive order to open the border even more: the Biden regime knew how the Supreme Court was going to rule, and it sought to pre-empt the court with its absurd EO. So the question now is: who, exactly, is leaking information on rulings to the Biden White House?"

US deploys a B-1B bomber to Guam
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The US Air Force B-1B multi-role supersonic strategic bomber was deployed to the island of Guam, the Pentagon's Indo-Pacific Command reported.

According to the official statement, the American bomber was brought in "to support routine missions."

The aircraft will be based on the island of Guam in the western Pacific Ocean.

As Regnum reported, Washington plans to deploy medium-range missile systems in the Asia-Pacific region by 2024. A spokesman for the U.S. Army Pacific Command said “everything is on track” to achieve its goal of deploying the missiles by the end of the year.

The American authorities intend to strengthen containment of China. To this end, they plan to deploy intermediate-range missiles to the Indo-Pacific region in 2024, US Army Pacific Command spokesman Rob Phillips said in December 2023. Nikkei added that Japan and the Philippines, with which the United States is developing security cooperation, are reluctant to accept new American military capabilities on their territory for fear of becoming a target for China in the event of an armed conflict in the region.

Russia fears that Washington's decision to deploy medium-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific region is irreversible. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov.

Paki Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region tourism wake-up call
[Gateway] A 36-year-old tourist was brutally lynched and his body set on fire by an enraged mob in Madyan, a town in Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The incident, as reported by Al Jazeera, occurred following allegations that the man had desecrated the Quran, Islam’s holy book.

According to Swat police officials, the man was accused of "insulting the Quran." The specifics of his alleged actions remain unclear.

"Our police team reached the main market in Madyan to arrest the man and took him to the police station, but the crowd demanded to have him handed over," a police official told Al Jazeera.

The situation escalated when hundreds gathered outside the Madyan police station where the man was held. The mob attacked the premises, dragged out the man, and killed him.

A police source at central Swat police headquarters stated that the man had been "tortured to death".

A horrifying video on social media shows a large crowd chanting religious slogans around a burning body.

'Reincarnation of the Third Reich': a new 'Panther'
Direct Translation via Google Translate.

Now with a 130mm main gun. And drones.

The Russian equivalent of the Dems crying "racism."
[RIA] The hottest new items were brought to the Eurosatory Paris arms exhibition. One of the main exhibits was the development of the German Rheinmetall - Panther KF51. Read about what a new generation of military equipment could be like in RIA Novosti's material.

"Panther" debuted two years ago - in 2022, all at the same Eurosatory.

Then the car made a lot of noise not only because of its combat capabilities, but also because of the race in the European arms market.

Since 2017, France and Germany have been working on the creation of a new MGCS (Main Ground Combat System) platform, which could serve as a main battle tank for EU member countries. However, during this period they did not achieve much success.

Only in the summer of 2023, the head of the German Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius and his French colleague Sebastien Lecornu announced that they were ready to return to the project.

The reason for such a step is the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive using European heavy equipment: even the newest 2A6 Leopards did not become a breakthrough weapon, as the West had hoped. In rare - for modern conflicts in general and this in particular - tank duels, Russian T-90M Proryv, according to the military, demonstrate superiority over German vehicles.

However, even if there is political will, the creation of a “tank of the future” is questionable, because the process may take many years. As a result, potential MGCS developers from both countries presented separate projects that they are currently working on. And the new “Panther” is among them.

THE END OF A LONG ARGUMENT?
The Panther KF51, named after one of the most popular and famous tanks of the Third Reich, is an evolution of the Leopard.
The Wehrmacht's Panther arguably was the best tank of WWII.
The vehicle is significantly smaller and lighter than the latest modifications of the Leopard 2A7 - by almost ten tons, which makes the MBT more mobile. From its predecessor, the Panther inherited a power plant - a V12 MTU MB 873 Ka-501 diesel engine with a power reserve of 500 kilometers.

At the same time, the Panther will receive a more powerful weapon - the 130-mm L52 cannon. German designers proceeded from the fact that 120-mm guns, even with armor-piercing sabot shells, do not meet the needs of modern conflicts, and it is no longer possible to modernize them.

This entailed the weighting of the gun itself and the turret. However, due to this, the tank has a 50 percent greater effective firing range compared to its predecessor. It is expected that the Panther will fire two types of unitary ammunition - armor-piercing sub-caliber and high-explosive fragmentation with a programmed detonation in the air. The main weapon is complemented by a 12.7 caliber coaxial machine gun.

There are other innovations as well. For a long time, one of the main “features” of Western tank building was the absence of an automatic loader: a separate crew member had to deal with feeding shells into the barrel. It was believed that the lag in rate of fire was compensated by survivability. However, the increase in calibers and, apparently, the experience of military operations in Ukraine have shown the ineffectiveness of this approach. Therefore, the method of Soviet designers was taken as a basis.

The crew was reduced to three people, and the tower became uninhabited. The tank will receive an SEOSS 2 panoramic optical sensor and an EMES main aiming device, which will allow the commander and gunner to independently observe targets and fire both day and night. In addition, displays in the fighting compartment provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle.

The new development will also receive more advanced protection from three systems compared to the Leopards: passive, dynamic and active. Moreover, the latter (TAPS), if you believe Rheinmetall’s statements, even protects against hitting a target in the upper projection.

The tank will also be equipped with a remote-controlled Natter RCWS turret for protection against drones. It will be complemented by a fully automated 7.62 mm RMG machine gun with 2,500 rounds of ammunition. They also intend to equip the vehicle with an installation for four reconnaissance UAVs and Hero-120 kamikaze drones.

However, so far the tank exists only in the form of experimental models - neither Germany nor other European countries have adopted it for service. Moreover, the timing of the series release is unknown. It is quite possible - taking into account all the problems of the military-industrial complex - this will take decades.

#2  When interviewed after he was captured the Panther commander said he didn't fire because he thought the Pershing was a German tank because he had never seen a Pershing. He who fires first wins.
