[WASHINGTONTIMES] Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, education officials are considering applying a social justice paradigm to teaching K-12 mathematics that would erase "White supremacy" from the subject and eliminate gifted classes for students.
Proponents of new math say the way the subject currently is taught is suffused with White supremacy. They say it handicaps some minority students by insisting on what they consider racist concepts — such as arriving at correct answers.
Some academics and conservative thinkers fear that forcing critical race theory into math classes would mark a further retreat from America’s preeminent global position in mathematics and sciences. An influx of foreign scholars has long maintained that advantage.
"Ill-conceived [diversity, equity and inclusion] policies, often informed by CRT, and the declining standards of K-12 math education feed each other in a vicious circle, which is in time going to affect the entire mathematics profession and, more broadly, all STEM disciplines," three mathematicians from Princeton University, New York University and the University of California, Irvine, wrote in a recent piece for the online magazine Persuasion.
California’s Instructional Quality Commission is considering introducing into classrooms across the state a modified version of "A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction," a curriculum developed by the online tool kit EquitableMath.org that aims to remove cultural bias from education.
The social justice curriculum is "an integrated approach to mathematics that centers Black, LatinX and Multilingual students in grades 6-8 [and] addresses barriers to math equity," the organization’s mission statement says.
While doing so, it offers "opportunities for ongoing self-reflection as they seek to develop an anti-racist math practice." Teachers in particular are "asked to reflect on their own biases to transform their instructional practice."

The demand for financial litigation and forensic accounting services is set to soar. The Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF) is designed to help CPAs and other financial service professionals obtain the necessary training, certification, and credibility so they can grow and thrive in these services.
[NYPOST] MSNBC contributor Mara Gay said Tuesday that she was "disturbed" to see "dozens of American flags" flown by Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... supporters during a weekend trip to Long Island, New York.
The left-wing editorial board member for the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... was also distressed by what she called expletives on the trucks against President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....... , describing the flag-flying Trump supporters as sending a clear message: "This is my country ... not your country. I own this."
"The reality is here that we have a large percentage of the American population — I don’t know how big it is, but we have tens of millions of Trump voters who continue to believe that their rights as citizens are under threat by simple virtue of having to share the democracy with others," Gay said in response to MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski calling for an investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
"I think that as long as they see Americanness as the same as one with whiteness, this is going to continue," Gay said, turning to race and adding that "Americanness" and "whiteness" needed to be separated.

Clearly she hates Alaska and Hawaii because most of America's racist past was back when we had a different flag, one with fewer stars. If I was gov of Hawaii I'd ban this person.
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Two more attorneys general have announced their respective states are joining a lawsuit against the Biden administration and its "illegal" cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline.
"The Constitution is clear that presidents do not have the power to regulate foreign and interstate commerce or to unilaterally undo an act of Congress," said Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, announcing that Alaska and Florida are joining the legal fight.
In the statement, Knudsen said U.S. consumers would benefit the most by the construction of the pipeline — and are subsequently hurt the most by its cancellation.
"The fallout from the Colonial pipeline cyberattack made it very clear that we need more energy infrastructure, not less. The Keystone XL would get more oil, including Montana oil, to American refineries to be sold to American consumers," he said.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor were added to a complaint filed with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Thursday, bringing the total number of states in the lawsuit to 23.
Talking with @KMbappe was a pleasure! There are many similarities between our professions – training, teamwork and performing under pressure. Now I need to convince my American colleagues that this is a football ⚽ not this 🏈 😉 @uefahttps://t.co/KJePm6Dwmb

Sigh...this has been over a thousand times...in football the ball is advanced by foot. The other sport should be called kickball.
It was just another slap in the face from our "friends" in Europe. For it to be a gentle rib between friends, you have to be friends. We're not, and Europeans made that crystal clear quite some time ago. Don't believe me? Here's a milder sample of the typical rhetoric:
"Germany or Russia don't have military bases, don't dominate their media, politics, cause wars or influence elections like the USA does to Europe, the USA hates Europe and independent countries, the USA only guarantees war, misery, poverty, shame, decline, death and humiliation.
America is a dumpster fire of a nation that is: racist, lazy, homophobic, nationalistic, Islamophobic, obsessed with non-democratic forms of leadership, shitty food, rednecks with buck teeth that look like they got curb stomped."
Explain how that's a friendly rib between nations.
#8
Wonder if it burns the world that the last big soccer movie, "Bend it Like Beckham" had the leads all pining to go to the US to play soccer in college, because in the US it is only taken seriously as a girls sport at this point.
#9
Quoting from typical rhetoric Europeans use on other websites. If you got out more you'd be familiar with it. Trust me, that's pretty mild compared to what's out there. I'm rather shocked that worldly people find this to be novel, as it's literally all over the place. How do you avoid seeing it everywhere Europeans talk about America? These people are not our friends, though they'll take all our free money and spit on us in return.
"I’m willing to stand up to big, powerful, arrogant nations who wish to profit off of suffering and extension of neo-imperialism. The US is a parasitic nation run by banks and corporations and constantly meddles in the affairs of other countries, despite the fact that many millions of Americans themselves are literally starving and live in poverty. A lot like Russia, actually, in that everything in both Russia and the US is controlled by a percentage of the population. They’re both oligarchies that think themselves above the law. However, the US has contributed more directly to the fucked affairs of the world than Russia has.
Although I live in the UK and stupidly my county is allies with America, I do believe America is the biggest threat to "world peace" that country is a mastermind of manipulation, causing wars, faking terror attacks, invading countries, taking down regimes, rigging their own elections, destablising countries, provoking massive countries like Russia and portraying them to Western media as the heroes and Russia the enemy, funding terror groups and so on. America is poison."
#10
And yet the same people scream bloody murder when we try to LEAVE their countries and take our money and bases with us. I like Europeans, but to call them allies is a stretch. They can't even be called client states because they don't do what they are told. When the muslims take over and they beg for help, I hope we say no, why is it America has to fix their problems.

No flopping in American Style football, that's for sure.
Didn't use to be until the soccorization of pro-sports in America, with personality forward advertising instead of performance based entertainment.
The obvious example is Bron Bron. Didn't see that crap back in the Barkley, Jordan, Malone era or before.
In football, it is the 3rd and huge long pass to the star receiver with the intention of a pass interference rather than a completion, often times with a purposefully underthrown ball so the receive can quickly slow down causing a collision with the corner.
That is, if driving, the hard brake to cause a rear end accident.

5 years ago NHL - we even think you flop, you go into penalty box.
Last year - hard tap with a darker skinned player gets you penalty box.
NFL, like the NBA, is irrecoverably broken. Sure, they will do Big Military Appreciation, Honor Tillman, Tebow Underrated All This Time?, and other publicity stunts to wrap gauze around a 00 buck gut wound.
MLB, usually 2 years behind the trend, gained a lap with the mascot purge, opting instead for muppet sex toy hybrids doing weird hip gyros in the faces of the dugout kids.

Oh. You mean the Brit/EU equivalent of the American sites I also don’t waste time perusing because they’re full of ignorant idiots congratulating themselves on what they fondly believe to be cleverness.
I’ve never claimed to be worldly — quite the opposite, and grateful for it. I prefer spending my time with people who are knowledgeable, insightful, and happily wise. There are plenty of Europeans and Brits like that, too — I’ve spent my entire life in an international crowd, both when we lived in America and the years my husband’s career took us to Europe after the Wall fell. (If you’ve ever been in the shops in Hungary or Russia or India or Egypt or Peru, among many others, you’ll have seen the results of his labours.) A few acquaintances over the years had the kind of odd ideas the French philosopher-journalist Jean François Revel discussed in his _Anti-Americanism_ and you do above, but all have been entirely too well bred to speak in the terms you so kindly share with us.
As an aside, there is already a game called kickball. In America schoolchildren play it with a big rubber ball on a baseball diamond.
#16
Separately, Mr. McCoy, when did you become English? You’ve never claimed that before, to my recollection, nor does anything about your writing style reflect a non-American sensibility. And you truly must decide if you are a fellow American, annoyed that those Europeans are not our friends, or a Brit who does not want to be friends with America alongside those foulmouthed others. Your usual line is to explain that you’re a long time Rantburger and dreadfully disappointed that the current generation is so immoral and hateful. And then post a bunch of long, over-HTML’d blog pieces about paleo-conservative philosophy that have nothing to do with either Rantburg’s mission or its side interests.

In Olde Times, back when The Church was trying to ban it, it likely resembled something we would recognize as Olde Hockey or Olde Football where hits were brutal and frequent and not penalized.
Only recently, last 150 years, did it become Footsie, the rift being those who craved the contact going rugby/football.
That is, Lacrosse would have been a familiar game.
#19
Such a hullabaloo about a rib. I don't see the disrespect. In America you call it soccer, or kickball or whatever; the rest of the world calls it football.
I wish our hair triggers would work better on real issues, which are not out there in Europe or Russia.

I agree Dron, why quibble over what something is called. We have that in plenty even across the US geographically and across generations. I do think it'd be funny if the next time a brit asks an american for a torch, he gets handed a nice heavy stick with burning pitch on the end instead of a flashlight

Silentbrick, or imagine the hilarity if the Brit asks for a "fag".
A cigarette, for those of you who don't speak English.

Two peoples divided by one language. We moved back to the States just in time for trailing daughter #1 to start first grade, after having gone to the International School in Brussels — American-style teaching with an English classroom teacher and a dear little Irish teaching assistant, but because the school was exceedingly expensive and they had a lot of students from England, they taught reading and writing in kindergarten instead of waiting until first grade. So td#1 stumbled over all the vocabulary differences (as well as having to learn to print in American ball and stick, after having learnt the previous year in English italics): verruca/wart, jumper/sweater.... the big one for her was tadpoles, about which she was very excited because the previous year they’d kept journals on the development of polliwogs into frogs, and she couldn’t wait to see what kind of creature tadpoles became.
But nobody here really cares about the soccer/American football/football difference, Dron. They’re all reacting to Herb McCoy/Jiggs Trotsky5854 jumping straight into being nasty again after having been away — or anonymously well-behaved until now. It’s how he amuses himself — none of the fights he picks are meaningful, either to him or to us.
swksvolFF, it is my understanding that as late as the 1920s college football players often had to be carried off the field with broken bones or skulls, and occasionally died of it. There were other traditions they had that produced similar results Looking back, the thinking is that they didn’t have enough physical risks in their lives — World War II changed the mentality for all that kind of thing.
That was fast — we only had the report of the incident yesterday, when we speculated that this was simply a car accident resulting from reckless driving. Somebody had the plan queued up, waiting for an excuse to activate.
[AlAhram] In February, Canada designated the far-right Proud Boys group a terrorist entity, saying it posed an active security threat after the January assault on the U.S. Capitol in Washington
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday promised to take more action to dismantle far-right groups after a hate-motivated attack that killed four members of a Muslim family in the city of London, Ontario.
They’re immigrants from Pakistan who were regular worshippers at the local mosque in the city with the second largest Muslim population in Canada...
"This was a terrorist attack, motivated by hatred, in the heart of one of our communities," Trudeau said in the House of Commons after observing a moment of silence.
The family, killed on Sunday when a pickup truck jumped the curb and ran them over, were deliberately targeted because of their religion, Canadian police said.
"We'll continue to fight hate online and offline ... (including) taking more action to dismantle far-right hate groups, like we did with the Proud Boys by adding them to Canada's terror listing," said Trudeau, who is due to attend a vigil outside the London Muslim Mosque for the victims later on Tuesday.
Police in London arrested Nathaniel Veltman, 20, in a parking lot about three-tenths of a mile (500 meters) from the London Muslim Mosque. He was wearing a body-armor type of vest. Veltman, who is white, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder. Authorities are reviewing the possibility of terrorism charges.
In a statement released late on Monday, the relatives of the victims said the accused attacker "was influenced by a group that he associated with," but did not identify the group or explain how they knew this information.
Veltman appears to have had little social media footprint. A spokesperson at the Canadian Anti-Hate Network, an organization that tracks hate groups, said that is unusual for a 20-year-old man.
"Someone poured poison into his ear," said the spokesperson, who asked not to be named. "We hope that further information will be shared to help determine and identify his online and media consumption."
The attack was the worst against Canadian Muslims since a man gunned down six members of a Quebec City mosque in 2017. London Mayor Ed Holder said it was the worst mass murder in his city's history. In September 2020, Mohammed Aslam Zafis, a Muslim man, was stabbed to death outside a Toronto mosque. Police charged a 34-year-old man with murder.
In February, Canada designated the far-right Proud Boys group a terrorist entity, saying it posed an active security threat after the January assault on the U.S. Capitol in Washington. Although the group has never mounted an attack in Canada, officials said domestic intelligence forces have become increasingly worried about it.
"Muslims wonder, how many more lives will it take, how many families will be mowed - mowed - down in the streets, how many more families will be killed before we do something?" opposition New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh, the first person from an ethnic minority to lead a major Canadian political party, said in the House of Commons after Trudeau spoke.
An anti-Islam rally was held in London in 2017 that was organized, according to media reports, by a group called the Patriots of Canada Against the Islamization of the West (PEGIDA). Counter protesters greatly outnumbered the anti-Islam demonstrators at the event, according to media reports at the time.
In April, Canada's intelligence service said the COVID-19 pandemic threatened to increase national security risks.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated xenophobic and anti-authority narratives, many of which may directly or indirectly impact national security considerations," the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) said it its most recent annual report.

[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Text messages obtained by DailyMail.com reveal Hunter Biden .....son of President Joe: cashiered from the Navy, a crackhead, wheeler dealer, leg humper, horn dog, and general all around ne'er do well. We're supposed to feel sorry for him..... used the n-word multiple times in banter with his lawyer
The president's son, 51, flippantly addressed corporate attorney George Mesires, who is white, by the racial slur, with phrases including 'true dat n***a'
In a December 2018 conversation, Hunter asked Mesires: 'How much money do I owe you. Becaause (sic) n***a you better not be charging me Hennessy rates.'
In another chat a month later, Hunter cracked jokes about his penis and then told Mesires 'I only love you because you're black'
'It's so annoying when you interject with frivolity,' the Chicago lawyer replied
The damning texts have emerged just days after his father, President Joe Biden gave a speech decrying racism on the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa massacre
Biden has sought to portray racial justice as a top priority for his administration
Hunter also saved a meme with a photo of his father hugging Barack Obama with a caption describing a joke conversation
'Obama: Gonna miss you, man Joe: Can I say it? Just this once? Obama: *sigh* go ahead Joe: You my n***a, Barack'

[Free Beacon] The Biden administration's efforts to elevate diplomatic relations with the Palestinians violate the law and will undermine America's historic recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital city, according to a group of Republican senators.
In the weeks since Israel went to war with the Iranian-backed Hamas terror group, the Biden administration has taken steps to reopen the U.S. consulate general facility in Jerusalem that oversaw relations with the Palestinians. This mission was closed in 2019 after the Trump administration recognized Jerusalem as Israel's unified capital city, in accordance with U.S. law. The Biden administration also wants to reopen the mission of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in Washington, D.C., which was shut down in 2018 amid efforts by the PLO to promote terrorism against Israel and block American efforts to foster peace in the region.
A group of 16 Republican senators led by Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) is warning the Biden administration against reopening both Palestinian missions, saying these policies are part of a quiet effort by the Biden administration to walk back the United States' decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's undivided capital, in a letter sent late Monday to the White House.
"We urge you to adhere to U.S. law and ensure both of these diplomatic missions remain closed," write the group of lawmakers, which also includes Sens. Bill Hagerty (R., Tenn.), Tom Cotton (R., Ark.), Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), Tim Scott (R., S.C.), and Joni Ernst (R., Iowa), among others. "We oppose any efforts by your administration to provide rewards and incentives to the Palestinian leadership or Hamas for their abhorrent support of violence and terrorism."
[NYPOST] Former President Obama is claiming right-wing media outlets of profiting by stoking "fear and resentment" among white people toward a "changing America" — pointing to national pushback on critical race theory as an example. The 44th commander-in-chief told Anderson Cooper in a CNN ...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for... special Monday that many race problems are a reflection of the US not having "fully reconciled with our history." Seen by, oh, ...25,000 viewers worldwide?
He said it was "hard for the majority" of white Americans "to recognize you can be proud of this country and its traditions and its history and our forefathers and yet, it is also true that this terrible stuff happened."
"The vestiges of that linger and continue," Obama said.
The Democrat said that his political opponents would often "not only block that story but try to exploit it for their own political gain."
[FRONTPAGEMAG] When it comes to terrorism, if an individual criticizes groups that support or are linked to terror, he/she will be labeled by those groups an "Islamophobe." While the term is loosely defined as someone hateful of Moslems, more often than not it is used as a malicious way to silence critics. Today, however, it seems that, even if you are critical of the terrorist groups themselves, you will be branded with "Islamophobia ...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do... ." That is what Florida State Representative Randy Fine has discovered, as he is being attacked by Islamist groups for the language he has used, in response to recent terrorist acts perpetrated by Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... (PIJ).

I remember CAIR sent the Indian PM a long letter when we dissolved both shia and sunni WAKF boards in one of our states, and appropriated their property for government use. They announced themselves as the flag bearers of muslim rights in the USA and the world.
Our response was something like, if you have any complaints as American citizens, your representative will relay them to us, other than that don't worry. They replied we would be hearing from President Trump soon, but we never did, God bless the man.
[NYPOST] The Democratic primary for mayor will be the first citywide election to use a ranked-choice voting system — but the new system may ultimately not matter, a new poll shows.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who has a six-point lead in the latest NY1/Ipsos poll over a sliding Andrew Yang ...Former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. Unlike most of the other Dem 2020 candidates, he actually did things besides politix in his adult life, which made him political poison. He worked in startups and early-stage growth companies as a founder or executive from 2000 to 2009. After he founded Venture for America, the Obama administration selected him in 2012 as a Champion of Change and in 2015 as a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship. His signature campaign policy is what he calls the Freedom Dividend, a form of Universal Basic Income for every American over 18. Yang believes UBI is a necessary response to the rapid development of automation that is leading to workforce challenges. The other two central elements of Yang's platform are Medicare for All and Human-Centered Capitalism.... and surging Kathryn Garcia, earns the most first-choice votes and would also win over both of them under the new tabulation system, where voters can rank up to five candidates.
When NY1 performed the ranked-choice voting simulation, Adams wins 60-40 over former Sanitation Commissioner Garcia and 58-42 over Yang.
It takes former NYPD captain Adams seven rounds in the winnowing process to get to those victories.
The poll, taken from May 17 to May 31, surveyed 906 likely Democratic voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.4 percentage points.
The former cop’s leapfrogging in the polls comes as public safety is on the minds of New Yorkers ahead of what will likely be a bloody summer.
[NYPOST] Vice President Kámala Harris Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California, former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and now Joe Biden's wing nut. She's displaying her level of competence in her hanling of the Biden Border Surge on Tuesday snapped at an NBC anchor when he pressed her on why she hasn’t visited the US-Mexico border in the 76 days since President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...... put her in charge of the record-smashing illegal immigration crisis — saying she hasn’t "been to Europe," either.
"At some point, you know, we are going to the border," a defensive Harris told NBC anchor Lester Holt on "Today" in Guatemala on her first international trip since taking office — and 1,308 miles away from the crossing.
"We’ve been to the border. So this whole thing about the border. We’ve been to the border," Harris said, to which Holt replied, "You haven’t been to the border."
Harris countered, "And I haven’t been to Europe. And I mean, I don’t, understand the point that you’re making. I’m not discounting the importance of the border." *inappropriate cackle*
Harris’ comments come as Border Patrol continues to be overwhelmed by the crisis, which has seen the largest number of illegal immigrants colonists cross the border this fiscal year since 2006.
Nearly 900,000 migrants colonists were stopped by Customs and Border Protection from October 1, 2020, to May 31 of this year, according to preliminary data obtained by Axios on Monday.
