"Suppressor" you Journolist Morons
[Yahoo] The shooter who killed 12 people in a government office building in Virginia Beach used a firearm equipped with a suppressor that muffles the sound of gunfire. It's the nightmare scenario that gun-control advocates have warned about amid efforts in recent years to ease restrictions on the devices, which they say can help shooters escape detection and inflict more carnage.
But gun-rights advocates and most law enforcement experts say DeWayne Craddock's use of a suppressor likely had no bearing on his ability to kill so many people in so little time Friday.

Reports said some people claimed to have heard shots. Others thought it sounded like a nail gun. How many were situationally unaware because they were "self suppressed" by their earbuds (you just know union work rules allowed their use)

Anyone who ever watched an action movie knows that firearms, especially handguns, emit an earth-shattering KABOOM! when fired. Unless a silencer is involved. Then they go pffft, like opening a vacuum-packed can of coffee.

Asked why he needs the private jets, Copeland responds: “If I flew commercial, I’d have to stop 65 percent of what I’m doing.” and...
Last May, Louisiana-based preacher Jesse Duplantis announced he was seeking donations so he could purchase a $54 million private jet.
“I really believe that if Jesus was physically on the Earth today, he wouldn’t be riding a donkey,” Duplantis said at the time. “He’d be in an airplane preaching the gospel all over the world.”
Just wow.

It's bastards like this who gave Christianity a bad name, turned millions away from the truth in disgust and apprehension. All the left and the islamists have to do to discredit the Truth or any Christian teaching or practice today is to point to idjits following these guys. Identifying all conservatives and Christians with snake handling fools and geriatric droolers rapidly writing cheques for their fav pinstriped second coming.

Why should they "do" Elon Musk? Elon Musk is supposed to be getting rich. He's running companies. Churches aren't supposed to be running for massive profits.
#2
Really? No one told them they can't buy their way into heaven*. Now the Left believes you can buy your way into their 'grace' by using other people's money for their goals.
* no one told them about the Protestant Reformation and indulgences?

"UGH" is certainly appropriate.
OTOH, how does one deal with this? If the Feds have the right to approve/disapprove the finances of churches, they automatically get a measure of control over them--and does anybody here trust the Feds to mind their own business?

[BREITBART] A man allegedly attacked a woman over a handicap parking spot outside Milwaukee Police Headquarters, only to be shot when the woman whipped out a rod on him.
WISN reports that 59-year-old Joseph Drier allegedly confronted the 28-year-old woman over a handicap parking spot. Drier thought the woman looked too young to need the spot and, after arguing, went to his car and allegedly returned with a steering wheel lock. How old do you have to be to get a handicapped parking spot?
Old enough to get a drivers license. But some people forget there are handicaps that don’t involve old age, and many that are not immediately visible to the naked eye.
The woman said Drier allegedly swung at her with the lock in his hand, but she was able to keep enough distance between them that she was not struck. However, man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them... she did pull her gun at that point and shoot Drier, striking him in the leg.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the "28-year-old woman was taken into custody" for questioning. She was released once police ascertained what had taken place.

[NYPOST] Miami fraudster Anthony Gignac was sentenced Friday by a Florida judge to 18.5 years in prison for swindling $8 million from people by posing as Middle Eastern royalty, according to reports.
Gignac‐who went by the moniker Prince Khalid al-Saud of Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... for more than three decades ‐ chronicled his phony life of luxury on Instagram under the handle
Photos show the grifter in a Ferrari, wearing Rolex watches and Louis Vuitton bags, dining on lavish meals and taking luxury vacations.
The 48-year-old lived on Miami’s star-studded Fisher Island, where his penthouse apartment door was labeled "Sultan."
He hired bodyguards who carried fake badges and his car bore fake diplomatic plates.
He referred to himself as "prince," "sultan" and "his royal highness" and demanded pricey gifts from his business partners‐per royal protocol.
But in reality, Gignac was a Colombian orphan born Anthony Moreno and adopted by a family in Michigan. The real Prince Khalid is the 79-year-old governor of Mecca.
Despite Gignac’s elaborate efforts to maintain his image, he forgot a well-known Moslem rule any respectable Saudi prince would honor: pork is off limits.
So when wealthy real estate developer Jeffrey Soffer caught him eating bacon and other pork products, Soffer hired private Sherlocks to look into the alleged prince, ultimately leading to an FBI probe, the Miami Herald reported.

It was a bittersweet moment in Mecca as, when informed about how the imposter made use of his name, the real Prince Khalid glowed fondly as a tear streaked down his wizened old face.

...and America's mania for designing urban areas with Euclidean geometry makes it so much more effective.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) ‐ Authorities say a woman plunged to her death down a Northern California waterfall after she slipped and lost her footing while taking photos.
The North Tahoe Fire Protection District said in a statement that the woman died Friday at Eagle Falls. Water cascades 150 feet (45 meters) from the waterfall overlooking Lake Tahoe.
Fire district spokeswoman Erin Holland said Saturday that witnesses reported the young woman was too close to the edge. There was no guardrail blocking access to the area.
The district says her death is "a sad reminder to be cautious when taking selfies and other photos in dangerous areas."
Holland says very cold water feeding the waterfall is moving extremely fast because of snowmelt from record snowfall in the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains.

I've hiked up Eagle Falls - don't remember any "150' falls". It's on solid granite, so any fall will be hurtful, but with a head that dense, you'd think she would be OK

[MAIL] When it comes to the health of her two daughters, Alice Ross is simply 'trying to do the right thing' – much like any loving parent.
In her case, that meant not having them vaccinated.
When they were babies, she declined the jabs routinely offered to protect youngsters against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, and Hib – haemophilus influenzae type b – a bacterial infection responsible for a range of nasty diseases, mainly in children under five.
And after the girls were one, Alice also rejected for them the MMR jab, which offers immunity against measles, mumps and rubella.

[The Hill] London Mayor Sadiq Khan reportedly gave the go-ahead for protesters to fly a giant, orange inflatable baby designed to look like President Trump during his state visit to the United Kingdom next week.
According to The Times, Khan signed off on the protesters’ request to fly the balloon over the city’s Parliament Square earlier on Friday. The balloon will reportedly fly Tuesday, a day after Trump is scheduled to arrive in London for his three-day visit.
Protesters are now reportedly waiting for permission to fly the balloon from the Metropolitan Police.
The Stop Trump Coalition, which is organizing the effort, is also reportedly waiting until it hits its £30,000 ($37,914) fundraising goal before flying the balloon.
Anna Vickerstaff, one of the organizers, told The Times that the money is supposed to go toward organizations "pushing back against the politics of hate and division."

Only one such air base and sacrifice 'flying' over the UK some 75 years ago:
The 303rd Bomb Group (Heavy) flew a total of 364 missions from RAF Molesworth, comprising 10,271 sorties. The bombers shot down a confirmed 378 aircraft with 104 additional aircraft as probables. 817 men from the 303rd were killed in action and 754 become prisioners of war. After the war, the 303rd Bomb Group (Heavy) departed Molesworth for the United States via North Africa.

[DAWN] One influential analyst called Amazon.com’s reported interest in the US wireless market "batshit crazy." Another said it was a "trojan horse" to kill off the big wireless players.
What’s becoming clear to the people who track the company is the ambitions of the world’s largest online retailer’s go far beyond replacing your phone service.
Amazon is interested in acquiring Boost Mobile, which will be sold by US wireless carriers T-Mobile US Inc and Sprint Corp as part of plans to win regulatory approval of their proposed $26.5 billion merger, primarily because a purchase would include a six-year contract that allows access to the combined company’s wireless network, Rooters reported on Thursday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
The ambition signaled that Amazon is looking to dive deeper into the wireless industry, strengthen its cloud services and ultimately take advantage of the next-generation 5G networks that are expected to transform major facets of technology, according to analysts.
That means the tech giant, which has evolved from a mere bookseller to a superstore of physical and digital products, could be setting its sights on taking on carriers such as AT&T Inc and strengthening itself against rival cloud providers like Microsoft.

5G is going to such a transforming technology, anyone who sees that potential and act on it is definitely a sure stock buy.
5G allows intelligent systems to make "real time" responses to stimulus. Such as when cars approach an intersection, which lights go green and which lights go red, a decision can be made in real time.
What is "batshit crazy" is what devices can be programed to do to you if the device recognizes your face.
#2
5G is a huge shuck. How many places do you go now where 4G LTE coverage is marginal to nonexistent (people who never leave a metroplex disqualified from answering that question) The glowing articles in the media are about how you can download all the StarWars movies in under a minute if you stand on the correct downtown street corner, hold your phone just so and don't breathe. I'm sure there are people who think they need that. They would be wrong.

I upgraded from an iPhone 5c to an iPhone 6 on the last day that was available. I have small hands, you see, and the 7 and above are simply too big for me. So I continue to wait for the fashions to swing round again to smaller devices — what will I do should 5g become omnipresent before then?
Good. In the beginning they had a legitimate cause, but between expanding demands and providing shelter for violent actors from the left and right, they really overshot the point where any agreement was possible.
[AlAhram] The number of "yellow vest" demonstrators marching against high living costs in La Belle France dwindled on Saturday following several weeks of waning turnout, more than six months into the protests against President Emmanuel Macron.
Police fired teargas at some protesters in the southern city of Toulouse ...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France... . But the demonstrations - on the 29th weekend in a row since they first erupted last November, leading on some occasions to riots - passed off largely peacefully.
Some 9,500 people erupted into the streets across La Belle France on June 1, the Interior Ministry estimated, with 1,500 in Gay Paree. That was down from the 12,500 nationwide last Saturday, and a far cry from the close to 300,000 that first occupied roundabouts and blocked roads in what began as an outcry against fuel tax hikes.
The latest anti-government protests coincided with a long holiday weekend for many French and with soaring temperatures, though numbers also fell throughout May.
That will provide some relief for Macron, who was forced to put some reforms on hold and make costly concessions to try and contain the unrest and find ways to boost purchasing power.
Even so the government is still on tenterhooks. A 5.9 percent hike in the power prices of state-controlled utility EDF - the highest increase in years - came into force on Saturday, after the government earlier postponed it due to the protests.
A second increase to French electricity prices in August cannot be ruled out but is not desirable, Junior Environment Minister Emmanuelle Wargon said on Friday.
French police have come under scrutiny from rights groups over the use of heavy duty crowd control weapons including "flash ball" riot guns that fire rubber ball-shaped projectiles.
"Since I saw a young woman get injured, I can’t let go," Roland, a 71-year-old protester in Gay Paree said.
[DAWN] LARKANA: During his visit to the central prison here on Friday, District and Sessions Judge Abdul Naeem Memon ordered the jail authorities to immediately make arrangements for the blood screening of prisoners for HIV/AIDS.
He also asked the medical officer (MO) concerned about conducting HIV/AIDS tests of the prisoners.
The doctor told the sessions judge that the medical superintendent of Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and the district health officer (DHO) of Larkana were approached and requested for supplying kits to carry out the required blood tests. But the jail did not receive the required kits, he said.
