Federal prosecutors on Thursday identified the defendants charged in Minnesota’s sweeping Medicaid and benefits fraud crackdown, accusing operators of autism centers, housing assistance companies and child care programs of collectively stealing tens of millions of taxpayer dollars through fraudulent reimbursement schemes.
The charges span multiple Minnesota assistance programs and include allegations of health care fraud, money laundering, wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Deborah Hodges, 59, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was charged with conspiracy to commit health care fraud and four counts of health care fraud in connection with an alleged $5.3 million Housing Stabilization Services fraud scheme, of which approximately $5.2 million was paid.
Ahmed Othman Kadar, 22, of Rosemount, Minnesota, was charged with three counts of health care fraud and two counts of money laundering tied to an alleged $1.4 million Integrated Community Supports fraud scheme.
Sharmaine Meadows, 45, of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, was charged with three counts of health care fraud involving alleged fraudulent Housing Stabilization Services claims totaling more than $4.3 million, of which nearly $3.7 million was paid.
Muhammad Abdulqadir Omar, 32, of Roseville, Minnesota, and Ibrahim Bashir Abdi, 25, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, were charged with conspiracy to commit health care fraud and four counts of health care fraud tied to an alleged $3.3 million Housing Stabilization Services fraud scheme, of which approximately $3.2 million was paid.

Labor Department ramps up pandemic unemployment fraud crackdown after estimated $135B stolen
The Department of Labor is intensifying its crackdown on unemployment insurance fraud after an estimated $135 billion in pandemic-era benefits was stolen, acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling told Fox Business.
Sonderling calls it one of the largest fraud schemes involving taxpayer dollars in U.S. history.
“People are sick and tired of getting their hard-earned taxpayer dollars stolen,” Sonderling said in Washington, D.C. “And it’s enough — not just the fraud, waste, and abuse — but actual theft of taxpayer dollars.”
Sonderling said fraudsters exploited weak verification systems during the pandemic by using stolen Social Security numbers, filing claims in multiple states and routing benefits through debit cards, fake bank accounts, fake email addresses and fake companies.
He said the abuse included more than $1 billion sent to Social Security numbers belonging to people under 14 years old, along with claims tied to people over 115, inmates and even someone listed as being born in 2154.
The department has already frozen more than $500 million in suspicious payments before the money could go out and identified more than $900 million sitting on prepaid debit cards tied to potential fraud, Sonderling said.
He said investigators are also targeting criminal networks, including foreign actors from China, North Korea and Africa, that allegedly used stolen identities to siphon American taxpayer dollars overseas.
Sonderling said the department is pushing states to adopt stricter identity-verification systems, share data across state lines and use AI-powered tools to spot suspicious patterns before benefits are paid.
“We’re done with paying first and verifying later,” he said, adding that states that fail to prevent fraud or share information will face “significant issues” with the Labor Department, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

A former Justice Department prosecutor was charged Wednesday with allegedly emailing confidential records tied to former special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into President Donald Trump.
Carmen Mercedes Lineberger, 62, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, faces four criminal charges stemming from her handling of Smith’s final report: one felony count of obstruction of justice, one felony count of concealing government records and two misdemeanor counts of theft of government property valued at less than $1,000.
According to the indictment filed in the Southern District of Florida, Lineberger allegedly altered electronic file names of government records to conceal unauthorized transmissions of the documents to her personal email accounts.
At the time, she was serving as the Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Fort Pierce branch of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon previously blocked the public release of the volume of Smith’s report related to the classified documents investigation involving Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in January 2025.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced the charges in a post on X.
"This afternoon, a former managing assistant U.S. Attorney who supported Jack Smith’s politicized investigation of President Trump has been charged with stealing the confidential investigation documents," Patel wrote. "Carmen Lineberger allegedly emailed the confidential material to her own personal email, disguising them as dessert recipes to conceal them from record searches."
Lineberger’s attorney declined to comment to Fox News Digital.
Smith previously brought indictments against Trump alleging he illegally attempted to overturn the 2020 election and improperly retained classified national defense information.

Galindo’s statements were not the only Israel-related controversy in US politics on Tuesday. Chris Rabb, an anti-Israel progressive who shared a post that said the Bondi Beach massacre was a false flag by "Zionists," won his primary in Pennsylvania. (Rabb later disavowed the post and said it was shared by a former staffer.)
On the other side of the spectrum, anti-Israel US Rep. Thomas Massie, conceding in a primary race, said he was unable to congratulate his opponent immediately because his rival was "in Tel Aviv."
Adding to the imbroglio, Galindo is reportedly receiving funding from a Republican-linked super PAC, apparently to boost the weaker Democratic party candidate in the race.
Jewish Democrats and party leaders laced into Republicans for allegedly assisting Galindo.
"They are deliberately elevating one of the most grotesque antisemites in American politics this cycle because they think it helps them win," the Democratic Majority for Israel said.
In response to the controversy, Galindo on Wednesday said, "When I say that I want billionaire Zionists in prison, that does not mean I want Jews in internment camps, so why am I getting a whole bunch of death threats and MAGA insults?"
"I realize MAGA and Jewish Zionists apparently are the exact same people, they talk the exact same way," she said. "They want to create a religion state in the United States of America... the goal of Zionism is to create these white supremacist religion states."
"You’re a danger to humanity and belong in prison," she said.
None of Galindo’s ideas are new. The Nazis threw Jews into camps where some were castrated or sterilized, viewed Jews as a genocidal threat to their society, and portrayed Jews as pedophiles. Many leftist anti-Zionist ideas, such as portraying anti-Zionism as separate from antisemitism, were promulgated by a Soviet propaganda campaign in the mid-20th century. AN ABERRATION OR A HARBINGER?
It remains to be seen whether Galindo is an aberration or a harbinger in US politics, as the lines continue to blur between anti-Zionism, antisemitism and Israel-related conspiracies, and between hostility to Israel on the right and the left. The window of acceptable Israel-related discourse in US politics has already moved miles since the start of the Gaza war.
It isn’t even clear why Galindo’s call to imprison Zionists provoked such a reaction from Democrats, and not her earlier statements, or other antisemitic controversies in the party, such as Graham Platner’s Nazi tattoo or Abdul El-Sayed’s equivocations about Iran, Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... and an attack on a Michigan synagogue.
Even Hasan Piker, a hardline leftist and cheerleader for anti-Zionist candidates, expressed confusion at Galindo while viewing her comments for the first time on a livestream.

If that’s the case, it’s not reflected in the document that CNN published on Thursday morning. Portions of the document were not included; however, with notes saying that the executive summary and conclusion had not been shared by the authors.
The report points to 10 different "strategic implications" for Democrats, including that "anti-Trump sentiment has limits," male voters "require direct engagement," and that voter demographics are not enough to determine which candidate they’ll prefer.
CNN reported that the document was written by Democratic strategist Paul Rivera and annotated by the DNC (If you're white you ain't right!) ...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points originate... . The DNC released the document following questions raised by CNN, the network reported.
DNC Chairman Ken Martin told CNN that the report was not yet ready to be publicly released, but concluded that withholding it would create a larger distraction than releasing an incomplete version. "I sincerely apologize," he said.
"For full transparency, I am releasing the report as we received it, in its entirety, unedited and unabridged," Martin said. "It does not meet my standards, and it won’t meet your standards, but I am doing this because people need to be able to trust the Democratic Party and trust our word."
Halie Soifer, CEO of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, said she’d expected to see analysis related to Gaza and Israel in the report.
"As soon as it arrived in my inbox I immediately searched for the word ’Gaza’ expecting there to be an entire section focused on this issue," Soifer said in an interview. "So I was surprised that, in fact, there was nothing — on Gaza, Israel, Jewish voters, non-Jewish voters, it was just nothing."
Though rumors had swirled about the role that Gaza played in the autopsy, Soifer said she heard from a DNC official that there was "never" a section focusing on the issue, "at least not in writing in this report."

Rivera, the report’s author, met with the IMEU and told them that the war in Gaza hurt Democrats in the 2024 election, according to reporting by Axios.
Soifer said the JDCA was not contacted by Rivera and did not meet with him.
While Soifer was surprised by the report’s omission of Gaza and Israel, pro-Israel lobbying group Democratic Majority for Israel took it as a sign that support for Israel does not have a detrimental effect on Democrats’ chances in elections.
"We need to learn the lessons of 2024 so we can be successful in 2026, 2028 and beyond," said Brian Romick, DMFI’s president.
"What is clear — autopsy or not — is a majority of Americans, including Democrats, support the US-Israel relationship, and that support was not the reason Vice President Harris lost the election," he said. A DMFI staffer pointed to polling from last fall showing that a majority of Democrats support the US-Israel relationship.
A spokesperson for the Republican Jewish Coalition pointed to the episode as an example of infighting among Democrats.
"The Democrats are tearing themselves apart as they appease the ascendant far-left turbans in their party, from Maine to Pennsylvania," wrote Sam Markstein, alluding to candidates Graham Platner and Chris Rabb.
"It’s bad policy and it’s bad politics. The GOP is the only party where it’s safe to be proudly Jewish and pro-Israel," Markstein wrote. "Republicans are righteously taking on the tough fights and winning, while Democrats continue to whistle past the political graveyard."
HARRIS WAS BOXED IN
The report found that the Biden White House did not "position or prepare the vice president" in a way that would allow her to lead a successful campaign.
It wasn’t until Biden announced his departure from the race in July that the campaign’s polling team scrambled to get fresh public opinion on three key areas — "one on the Vice President’s biography and record, one on her vision and plan, and another on attacks and responses."
The team also determined Harris had no answer on a sensitive issue: The Trump campaign’s anti-transgender attacks. Specifically, the report highlighted the pollsters’ belief that the Democratic nominee was "boxed" in by Republicans’ "very effective" advertisement highlighting Harris’ previous support for taxpayer-funded gender-affirming surgeries for prison inmates.
"Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you," the ad said.
The report said: "If the Vice President would not change her position — and she did not — then there was nothing which would have worked as a response."
TRUMP WASN’T ATTACKED ENOUGH
There’s been no shortage of criticism toward Harris’ campaign after her defeat. Some Democrats think she spent too much time campaigning with Republicans like Liz Cheney ...dynastic pseudo-Republican politician from Wyoming, daughter of Richard Cheney. She was a part of the farcicle January 6th bipartisan committee, which resulted in over 1200 political prisoners being tossed into an American gulag. Cheney was roundly trounced in the next election, but that didn't let the prisoners out, did it? She will kept her pension.... ; others think she lacked a strong economic message.
The autopsy report reaches a different conclusion, saying not enough was done to convince voters that Trump was an unacceptable candidate.
"There was a decision in the 2024 Democratic leadership not to engage in negative advertising at the scale required," the report states. "The Trump campaign and supportive Super PACs went full throttle against Vice President Harris, but there was not sufficient or similar negative firepower directed at Trump by Democrats."
At another point, the report says, "Democrats made a mistake by assuming voters were already aware of Trump’s various weaknesses.
"The idea Trump’s negatives were ’baked in’ is a major failure of analysis and reality," the report says.
DNC leadership did not appear to like these conclusions, adding annotations like "no evidence provided; contradicts claims elsewhere in report" and "no sourcing or evidence provided."
TO COURT RURAL VOTERS: ’SHOW UP, LISTEN, AND THEN DO IT AGAIN’
The report criticized Harris’ outreach to key segments of America while including a handful of derisive references to "identity politics." The document raises serious concerns about Latinos in particular.
"Democrats can no longer assume Latino voters, especially younger Latino men, are a reliable part of their base," the report says. "The party needs a complete rethink of its Latino outreach strategy, moving beyond traditional approaches like Spanish-language ads and late-cycle surrogates."
The report points to successful Democratic statewide candidates in Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina, who showed that "economic messaging, and addressing cost-of-living concerns resonate more than identity politics."
The autopsy also highlighted the Democrats’ underperformance with men.
"Male voters require direct engagement. The gender gap can be narrowed," the report says. "Deploy male messengers, address economic concerns, and don’t assume identity politics will hold male voters of color."
Harris also didn’t have any answers for the party’s struggle with rural voters.
"Harris wrote off rural America, assuming urban/suburban margins would compensate. The math doesn’t work," the report says. "You can’t lose rural areas by overwhelming margins and make it up elsewhere when rural voters are a significant share of the electorate. If Democrats are to reclaim leadership in the Heartland or the South, candidates must perform well in rural turf. Show up, listen, and then do it again."

[FoxNews] Chicago announced in February it would also not renew its contract for the crime-fighting technology
A Massachusetts city on Monday voted to end its contract with ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system used by police to identify possible shootings in real time.
The crime-fighting technology deploys a network of acoustic sensors mounted above streets across neighborhoods, designed to detect gunfire-like sounds and automatically alert law enforcement when a suspected shot is heard.
The Cambridge City Council’s decision follows criticism from opponents who argue the system is unreliable, and can contribute to over-policing. They have also raised concerns about potential links to federal immigration enforcement.
Cambridge’s move comes after Chicago announced in February 2024 that it would also not renew its own contract for the technology, signaling growing pushback among some cities over its use.
Under the decision, the city manager and police department must discontinue use of ShotSpotter within 90 days, and the devices will be removed from locations around Cambridge, the outlet said.
HOW SURVEILLANCE TECH LED POLICE TO ACCUSE THE WRONG PERSON
The system is operated by Soundthinking, which says the technology is designed to save lives, expedite police response and help investigators to recover more evidence, with alerts relayed to law enforcement within 60 seconds.
During Monday’s meeting, Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang and acting Police Commissioner Pauline Wells supported keeping ShotSpotter in place, with the police citing 11 incidents when the system did detect gunfire but did not receive 911 calls.
Critics, however, say the technology lacks sufficient independent scientific validation, pointing to reported false positives and arguing it can be triggered by other loud noises such as car backfires.
They also noted that SoundThinking operates a law enforcement database that allegedly is related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agenda which is considered deeply unpopular in Cambridge.
Councilor Ayah Al-Zubi, a co-sponsor of the resolution calling to decommission ShotSpotter, said the arrangement raises broader concerns about data sharing.

"It does pose a privacy and safety risk for residents, especially when the federal government has a relationship with the company and it’s not reliable," Al-Zubi said. "There was once a time, over a decade ago, where there was an interest in this technology, but now we know more about its effectiveness and its consequences."

Is ShotSpotter Racist for collecting factual data?
Yes. The established legal principle in play is disparate impact. Any process or practice that produces a disparate impact on members of a protected class, even if racially neutral, is discriminatory. Example: In high school, if you misbehave in class, you get detention. If more black kids are getting detention than white kids, school discipline is discriminatory. Same thing with ShotSpotter targeting (heh) minority neighborhoods.

The UK solution would be to start putting more and more white kids in detention, even for minor and perceived infractions, so there is no more room and then the black kids are released to make more room, then can't be sent to detention because the room is full.
